Sepirah couldn’t wait for the day that she would see Caillen again. She waited to see if she would see him again. The dark princess often found herself going back to the den where she first met the male to see if he was there waiting for her, but she often found herself going back home with a heavy heart. She longed for his warmth again, especially with the cold settling in. The jackal couldn’t wait for the day that she saw him again. She longed to go out and get a gift for him. She felt a little bad that there was nothing she could give him for the comfort he gave her. She knew he wanted to get her something too and she already had the day planned. All she needed now was to meet up with the male and lead him to their destination.

Sepirah woke up that morning to see the sun right in her eyes. She yawned and looked out of her den. She figured this was as good as any day to go look in the den to see if the male had stopped by. She slipped out of her home so quickly that she even forgot to put her mask on. The dark princess normally didn’t go anywhere without wearing it, but she knew Caillen liked it better when she didn’t wear it. The jackal made it to the borders and paused. What if her pack found out what she was doing? She tried not to think about it and bounded for the den.

Sepirah made it to then den and peeked inside. She felt a bit down since she saw there was no one in there. She paused and stepped inside. She could still feel the warmth from their first night. The dark princess moved to her pervious spot and curled up. She laid her head down on her front paws, her back to the entrance. She wondered if she waited then maybe he would show up. She gave a soft sigh and then closed her eyes. The jackal figured she could get a quick nap while she waited.

It had been a strange two weeks for the Winters boy. This tie had been a turning point in his life, but Caillen was still unaware of just how he had changed - He was only aware that he had, right deep down, and that the transformation from hopeless dreamer to whatever the new identity he had was complete. It was a haunting feeling, as though he was wearing the skin of someone else, the face of someone he'd once known quite well.

There was only one driven thought in his head. Before the changing time, he had made a promise to someone, and it was a promise he intended to keep. Somewhere, in the lands around him, was a den; Our secret meeting place. The words echoed repeatedly in his head. Someone was waiting for him there, and it was crucial that he find them.

Perhaps the emotional shock of his confrontation had driven common wit from Caillen's mind. A meeting with a strange male named Saluce had helped with that, sort of - He was still Luperci. The skin he wore was still acceptable to others of his kind. But inside his mind, the youth was adrift in a sea of chaos, and he found peace only in the absence of thought. Otherwise, his mind was drawn back constantly to the conflict, to his mother and to Sylvie, the girl who had broken his heart.

He had spent a few days wandering the area now, searching for the den. It was only this morning that things had begun to slide into place - He recognized that tree, that boulder, that cluster of birch, that thicket. And suddenly, there it was ahead, the opening of the den. A strange emotion coursed through him - was that relief? Happiness? - and the gentle giant wagged his soft tail gently, sky-blue eyes focused on the entrance as four large paws carried him straight to it. Sensitive canine nose could smell her presence here - It was old, but there, a fresh scent!

Trotting slowed to a walk, then finally a stop, as he reached the den's opening. Hesitantly, the huge brute stuck in his head, one floppy and one erect ear straining to hear the small breaths that identified a living creature within. He could smell her strongest in here, and as sky-blue eyes adjusted to the darkness, he could see a dark shape huddled at the back of the den... "Sepirah?"

Sepirah gave a soft sigh as she waited for something to happen. For now she was alone in the den and wondered if Caillen would even show up. She didn’t want to feel like she was wasting her time. The dark princess remembered the promise she made to the male and she intended to stick to it. She kept her ears on alert just in case anyone decided to come by and noticed her laying there. So far no one was coming around and it was best that she got some sleep. The jackal moved her ears down and let her mind drift off into sleep.

Sepirah began to wander around her dream. She was in a field all alone. No one was there, not even the ones she cared for. Her ears folded down as she wandered around the area, hoping someone would come into her dream. The dark princess paused when she saw a figure in the distance. She ran towards it and stopped when she saw the figure split in two. There were two males standing before her. It was Revan and Caillen. What were they doing here? The jackal looked to them and watched them come towards her. Both of them were smiling at her but she couldn’t understand why. She whined before waking up from her dream. She huffed gently before laying her head back down.

Sepirah raised her head when she caught the scent of someone coming near the den. Her ears moved up as she tried to figure out who it was. She recognized the scent but for a moment, but couldn’t believe it was actually him. The dark princess heard the male say her name and she turned her head. There before her was Caillen. He didn’t forget and she was so happy to see him. She raised her body and moved over towards him. ”Caillen, it’s so good to see you. I’ve missed you…”

It seemed that Sepirah took a moment to check that it was him - The real him. Caillen felt a wave of confusion. Had she been waiting for someone else? Would he be jealous, if she had? But he didn't have any more time to ponder that dark train of thought, because the pretty jackal had risen from her corner to approach him, her words making it clear that she had, in fact been waiting for him. He wondered for a moment how long he'd kept her waiting - All that time spent on his own in the forest was a blur to the slate wolfdog, one day melting into the next until he'd lost pretty much all sense of time. Then he'd met Saluce, and conscious thought had prevailed, and he'd known where it was that he'd had to be. Here, with her. He'd made a promise.

"Sepirah..." His voice sounded croaky, like he hadn't spoken for quite a while and had almost forgotten how to use it. The youthful happiness had gone from it. He wondered if she'd notice that he was not quite the same. "I'm sorry I kept you waiting." He'd been lost, in his mind and in reality. It had taken quite a lot of searching to find the den. Sky-blue eyes, strangely cold even though they tried to warm to her, gazed at the pretty jackal's features. She reminded him of who he was, or who he had been before the fight, and that made him happy.

The huge wolfdog backed out of the small den so that Sep could step out into the wintry sunlight. His stomach growled loudly - Maybe they could catch a hare or something before going on whatever adventure she had planned. It had been quite a while since he'd eaten last.

Sepirah could tell that Caillen was different. She figured this was the result of what he had to do. She remembered from the last time she met with the male, he mentioned something and she didn’t like seeing him so down. The dark princess ventured closer and nuzzled him gently. She wanted to see him happy again and wanted the happy Caillen she had met before. The jackal wanted him to be happy to see her gift, not have that be the item that brought his mood back up. She waited a moment to see if it would work. The dark female’s tail began to sway back and forth to show him that she was happy to see him. She wondered if he would do the same.

Once they were in better spirits, Sepirah stepped fully out of the den and began to lead him south from the pack lands. She was so excited to go and pick something out for Caillen. She hoped whatever it was she found, he would like it. The dark princess maneuvered through the trees and continued to lead him. She checked back to make sure that he was still following her and to make sure that no one else was following them. The jackal didn’t want anyone to find her secret of seeing with him because she didn’t want to be judged on it.

Sepirah brought Caillen to the edge of the city and smiled. ”I figured we could come here to find a gift for each other. This was where I came when I found the mask.” She looked around for the perfect place but had no idea what she wanted to get him. The dark princess paused in the middle of a street and looked around. She gave a small sigh and turned to her companion. ”I have no idea where I want to go. I don’t know what I should give you.”

ooc: sexy Libri table. om nom nom! <3 ideas on what they can find?

Sepirah had indeed stepped forward from the gloom of the den, but instead of passing by him as Caillen had expected, she'd stopped to give him one of those rare nuzzles. It was difficult to remain melancholy, what with her obvious attempt to lighten his spirits, and when the pretty jackal wagged her tail the slate wolfdog did likewise. He could feel the mists of delusion and pessimism already receding from his mind, just by the power of her touch. Feeling invigorated, the youth fell into step behind her as she moved away from the small dark hole.

Although she was notably smaller than he, Caillen found he had to move rather swiftly to keep up with her graceful pace. They walked in silence a while; Caillen would watch as her golden eyes drifted over him, then scanned the surrounding area almost cautiously. He wondered if she was watching for her pack-members - If the stories of her family were true, then it was hardly likely that they would approve of the young pair spending so much time in eachother's lonesome company. For the smallest of moments, Cai wondered if his own mother would approve of Sep; She valued such traits as the young jackal-lady had displayed, such as kindness and bravery. The thought of his mother was bittersweet, so he concentrated more fully on the path they were taking, hoping maybe to spot some distinctive landmarks for the next time he came through here.

Before long, they had stumbled on the edge of the city. Caillen trotted up to stand beside Sepirah, his sky-blue eyes lighter than before, and the beginnings of a familiar boyish smile tugging at his maw. The air was crisp and cool, filling him with energy. It was a good day to be with her.

At her words, blue optics returned to the pretty lady, watching her quietly. He had little to no knowledge of this place, or even what Sepirah herself might like as a gift from it. He'd never really given a girl a gift before, except for maybe flowers, which they all seemed to like. But the black jackal was different to most girls, and he knew that he couldn't just give her any old thing they found lying around. "Why don't we just have a scout around, see what we can find?" He suggested, accented tone lilting over the words. Perhaps he could come across an old jewelery store, and find something for her there. Lifting his large paws, the wolfdog jogged down into the streets, and smiled back at Sepirah. "First person tae reach tha' house over there wins!" He barked, waiting a moment for her before turning to run towards a nearby dwelling.

Sepirah was glad to see that she was helping with Caillen’s mood. She felt her rosy cheeks return when she nuzzled him and wasn’t sure how he would take it. She was glad to see that he didn’t really dislike it. She was so happy and even felt her tail wagging faster. She had no idea what was making her feel like this but it was something she had never really felt before. It wasn’t exactly like the feeling of love but more of best friends than anything. The dark princess was so glad to have someone this close to her besides her grandmother. Her smile increased as she moved to his side. She was ready to leave and show him to the place to find him a gift.

Sepirah’s body was smaller and built more for speed than strength. Although she wanted to be a warrior for the pack, she wanted to use her speed to her advantage and maybe use that to keep up with her enemy’s moves. She kept her eyes one her friend as they made the journey. She was so happy that he was coming along with her. She was still trying to think of the perfect gift for him. The dark princess was also a bit curious as to what he was thinking of them. Did he approve of them being together? The dark princess strolled along the streets of Halifax, looking for the perfect place to go and get him a gift.

Sepirah smiled as she thought she saw something. She stopped in front of what looked like a clothes store. She peered inside and saw a nice blue scarf for him. Seeing as he was wearing one, perhaps it would be perfect for him. She was about to go in when she heard Caillen behind her, challenging her to a race. She turned around and smirk, racing him to the house. The jackal laughed as she ran. ”Come on Caillen. Think you can beat me?” The dark girl slowed down to purposefully let him win.

A buoyant laugh bubbled from his chest as they ran together. It felt wonderful, natural - The self-made wind gliding fingers through his thick dappled fur, the cracked concrete firm beneath his massive paws, and of course, Sepirah, running alongside him. She looked to be born of the very wind, she was so fast; He knew that he let him win, could see it in the sparkle in her pretty gold eyes.

The quick sprint left him feeling energetic, excited. Pink tongue lolled from between wickedly large white teeth in an innocent pant, maw curved up in a goofy grin, as Caillen skidded to a stop at the front of the store. He had no doubt that Sepirah could have beaten him if she wanted too - Her slender, wiry jackal frame was made for dashing speed, where as his hefty bulk was built for endurance and combat.

Flashing her a quick grin, the youth entered in the gaping doorway first - The rotten door had long since fallen off of its rusted hinges, leaving the shop open for all who wanted to enter. The first thing Caillen noticed was that the air smelt musty. He knew that smell. It smelt like the old fabric Strelein, a wolf back at the Chien Hotel, used to make clothes. And sure enough, the walls of the store were bedecked with pieces of clothing.

Some had clearly fared better in age than others. Sky blue eyes, darting momentarily back to Sepirah to make sure she was okay, then traipsed about the wide variety of clothing. A flash of color at the back of the store caught his attention, and he padded forward, fluffy tail wagging merrily. With a tug, Caillen pulled the rainbow-hued material (which turned out to be a mid-length scarf) from the tarnished figure of a manikin. Pleased with his discovery, the youth barked merrily around his mouthful, and trotted back to Sep. "Wha' aboot thuss?" Speaking obscured by the article, he dropped the scarf at her feet, and ignored the taste of the fabric in his mouth. "Do you like it?"

Sepirah was so happy to be spending so much time with her dear friend Caillen. Never before had she had so much fun with someone. She felt free and more at ease with the male than she had been with anyone else in Inferni. She couldn’t believe that this was real. She sometimes felt that this was just a dream and that she would soon wake up from it. She actually paused and let the moment sink in to let her know that this wasn’t a dream and that this was really happening. The jackal smiled as she began to purposefully fall behind him so that he would win the race. She wanted him to win something while they were here and it looked like he was winning more than just the race. Was it possible that he was also beginning to win her heart as well? She was believing so. There was no way any other male could do this to her, then again none of them were even trying. There was of course Revan back home but it didn’t seem like he was trying to impress her all that much. He seemed to just blend into the background and wasn’t making himself known. She shook her head of the thought of the male and focused on the one in her company. The dark girl began to raise her head as he began to stop. Out of an act of playfulness, she jumped and pounced towards him, trying to get onto his back and try to tackle him down; although, seeing as he was such a big male, she doubted that was going to happen.

If her pounce was successful, she would crawl off the male and then looked to the store that he had stopped in front of. She walked with him through the door and looked around to the clothes. She was not really interested in them, nor was Caillen it seemed aside from scarves. Speaking of which, the dark princess turned her gaze back around to him to see that he was not wearing his scarf today. She wondered if he knew that she might have been trying to pick out a new one for him, but she was not all too sure. The jackal smiled as she turned and began to look through the many scarves the shop had. There were so many that she didn’t even know where to start. She figured something to match his hues and his eyes. She paused as she began to shift into her optime form so she could reach some of the higher up scarves to see if any would look good on him. Once she was done shifting, she stood on her back legs and began looking through some scarves that had different shades of blue. She found a few that looked nice but she was unsure of which one to have him try on. The dark girl looked to them and tried to imagine them on the male, though it was proving a bit difficult.

Sepirah paused when she turned around to see Caillen behind her and a scarf picked out for her. She turned and sat down as he placed the scarf down in front of her. He asked her if she liked it. The dark princess took the scarf and wrapped it around her neck. She felt so much better and liked how it looked on her. She smiled and nodded. ”I love it Caillen. It’s lovely.” She then choose the bolder blue scarf and held it out to him. ”I found this one for you. Do you like it?”

The girl had turned into her optime form by the time Caillen returned with his choice of the rainbow scarf. She was very pretty - all long, dark limbs and glossy hair. As she took the item of clothing, the wolfdog began the transformation himself; He had done it a few times by now, but he was still not as good as it as Sepirah was, and the aftereffects left him feeling all tingly and strange. For not the first time, the youth marveled at his ability to change from a quadruped shape into a bipedal one.

Now that he stood on two legs, Caillen was much taller than Sepirah. Her dainty female figure, so quick and cunningly built, made him feel oversized and awkward. It was difficult to mull over such things, however, when she looked so delighted about his gift.

The scarf really suited her, what with her glossy dark pelt contrasting so prettily against the myriad of colors. Even her eyes looked a brighter yellow, if that was possible. She looked truly beautiful in it. He found himself strangely short of breath, looking at her; Only one other had made him feel this way, and the image of her swam through his mind. Because she was still painful to think about at this point in time, Caillen focused on Sepirah, offering her a charming smile. "I'm so glad. I had tae choose that one for you - Its colors remind me of the way you make me feel." And because that was such a sappy thing to say, Caillen blushed slightly, dropping his gaze to his large feet.

She had moved away from him, and returned with a scarf that was a delightful blue in color. The youth stared at it, taking the material carefully in his clawed hands. It was a handsome thing, and just the perfect color for him. Had she known that he'd shed his old scarf? Light blue eyes dared a peek at her, before returning to the scarf. Mirroring what Sepirah had done, he wound it carefully about his ivory throat, enjoying the familiar weight and warmth. "It's brilliant. Absolutely brilliant." He positively beamed at the jackal girl. There was a strange guilt stirring in the back of his mind, along with that familiarly unfamiliar feminine face which haunted him with its beauty just as Sep's did, now. He wondered if he should speak with the ebony jackal girl about Sylvie, but the right time hadn't seemed to come up.

Sepirah watched as the male began to shift into his optime form. He grew so much bigger and even towered over her now that he was only on two feet. She shook her head and couldn’t believe how big he was. It was as if her had grown bigger since the last time she saw him. She smiled happily as she looked over to him, showing off her new scarf. She loved the feel and look of it. She did not think there was any other scarf in the whole store that looked better than this one did. The dark princess paused when Caillen mentioned that the scarf reminded him of how her felt about her. Just what did he mean by that? She tilted her head in confusion and twirled the end of it in between her fingers. ”What do you mean by that Caillen?” The jackal looked up to see that the male was blushing a bit. The dark female began to blush as well, though she was sure that her’s was harder to see seeing as her fur was black. She couldn’t help but widen her smile as she waited to see how much the male would like the scarf that she had picked out for him.

Sepirah closed her eyes but kept her ears open as she listened for his reply to the scarf. She had noticed that he wasn’t wearing his old scarf today. She wondered if he knew that she was going to pick out a new one for him so he left it back at his home. She peeked through as he was wrapping the scarf around his neck. That was certainly a good sign that he licked it, otherwise he wouldn’t even want to wear it. She smiled as he told her it was brilliant. She smiled and even dared to lean forward and wrap her arms around him as she rested her head on his chest. Once the dark princess realized what she was doing, she backed away and blushed so mach she swore she could feel the temperature of her face increasing. She shook her head and then looked away. ”S…sorry about that…” She paused and threw him a small glance from the corner of her eyes. ”I’m glad you like the scarf. They match your eyes very well.”
