ooc;; Okay, so I have a little explanation here for you! I'm still working out when it would be best to set this, so just try and keep any news that may affect your character out of any posts! You each get ONE introductory post before the rounds start! Layla's team will be the attackers first. Team leaders (Conor and Layla) should have PMed you by now to discuss the "puppy" for each teams first round, as well as worked out which member of your team is going to go for the opposing teams puppy. The rest of the team are free to chose their targets in game. At the beginning of the round, each member will have one post to make their targets and go for that wolf. Please write at the top of your post the name of the wolf your character is targeting. Obviously, if a wolf has already been targeted, dont go for them again. Once everyone has posted I will post up successes and failures. You may respond after this. At this point the wolf selected to go for the puppy may make their break. The next round will begin with whether this wolf was successful! Any questions? 300 word max for all round posts- your introductory posts may be as long as you wish! Round One will begin 24th December.

Saul had been considering this for some time now- a game for the members of Dahlia to bond over. It had been a small seed in his brain since the first playdate with Mia, although Saul hadn't seen the little pup around anywhere in the past few weeks. He wondered where the little girl had got to. She would have loved to take part in this game. It had taken only a few days to get the word out that it would be hosted soon and Saul had been nervous about who was going to turn up. However, the december morning had turned out nice and despite the snow littering the ground it was relatively clear today. Saul had woken and performed his usual ritual, poking his head round his Aunts door to check that she and Eclipse were okay before going out once more. It was now midday and he was in the main street of Wolfville. He figured it was big enough to host his game.

With a large stick he had marked off a large pitch in lines. It really was rather large and Saul doubted anyone would be tempted to cross the lines once in game. He would disqualify them if they did so, which he was going to tell them. Green eyes had been wide with excitement as the first of his players had turned up, giving a nod to each and every one of them as they assembled before him. He saw a few wolves around the outskirts of his pitch- obviously there to spectate and perhaps they would give a unique insight to things he could not see. They might be useful if the game got complicated. Saul was disappointment to see that Gideon was absent, although green eyes were very much pleased to see Ascher there before him. Once everyone had arrived, Saul took a deep breath.

"Welcome everyone to this little game of mine! I hope we can have fun today! So I hope you all heard whats going to happen- the rules of the game and so forth." Saul took the time to explain them to the assembled wolves, making sure they understood what was to happen. "So Conor will take his team and Layla will take hers to opposing sides of the pitch. Layla's team will be the attackers first. You much decide amoung yourselves which puppy would will be defending, Team Conor!"

He felt as though he had explained the game pretty well and hoped that if any of them had a question they would ask him now. Green eyes watched each one of them with a smile on his face as he waited for them to sort themselves out and assemble in whatever way they wished before he whistled for them to begin. He would make sure there was no foul play and be fair in it. A grin slipped over his lips as he waited, tail beating back and forth behind him. This was going to be fun.

The idea had been well received instantly. It was a brilliant idea to arrange games where whoever wanted could join in for some fun, regardless of the various ages there were. The cinnamon and gold man was one of the first to arrive to take in the scene and the arrangements that Saul had made. White tipped tail danced behind his lupus form as he settled next to Ascher, eyeing the green eyed Stormbringer with tranquil intrigue apparent in soft lavender. He was excited to see how this would develop. The idea alone was wonderful, and while most of them were adults here, he thought it was important to be able to let go and forget about pride and etiquette for a little while.

Saul’s youthful voice rose once those interested had arrived. A broad smile was present in the Alpha’s face as he listened to the young Dahlian explain the rules. He nodded to the rest of the group as he was mentioned as a sort of team captain, and the look he tossed to Layla was not less friendly than usual, but he would not go easy on her. ”Magnolia, will you do team Conor the honor of playing the role of the puppy?” The golden male gave an encouraging wink to the young girl.

As for questions, the Soul male did not have any. He rose from the frosted ground and made his way over to his team’s side.

Let's do this thing! ~jumping jack warmups~

Fidgeting was not Ascher's normal way of dealing with anxiety - ignoring it was. But when it came to a game like Saul's, with lots of running around and chasing and maybe even tackling, the young wolf had no idea how to let off the pre-game steam. He was not even sure how the game would progress - though Saul had explained things simply enough to him - because Ascher had the nagging feeling that he was going to be a target for the opposing team, whosoever it was comprised of. If Gideon were here, it would have done a world of good for him to be on Ascher's team - no one was worried about anything when one's big brother was there for you. But odds were that even if he were here, he would be on the other side of the line.

And Saul did not count this time because he was not actually playing. Ascher made a face at his brother without any explanation to go with it. Aside from that, the small Stormbringer began stretching out his legs and arms in a variety of methods that had to look silly, but made him feel much more relaxed. Layla seemed a very capable team leader, but Ascher had it in his head that Conor was an unstoppable force, and needed to be treated with the utmost caution. He shook his head furiously after that, though; worrying about something only made it more worrisome, and that was no where near helpful in a game like this one.

”So what's the plan, Layla? Who's going to be the what this round?” There was not a hint of trepidation in Ascher's voice, and he started convincing himself that there was no way he was going to get downed by anyone, and that was that. Just to be on the safe side, though, some more leg stretching ensued.

wheeeee

Maggie had heard about a pack game through Poppy. The thought excited her, considering she had no idea who was in Dahlia with her. Maggie also wanted to play because she had known that Saul organized it. She really liked Saul and wanted to see her playmate again. Feeling braver than normal, Maggie ran out of her house at full tilt, following Saul’s scent to the playing field. Most of the pack was already there, including Conor and Saul. She smiled at her friend, and walked over to her cinnamon alpha. Momma had told Magnolia who Conor was, and even though the little girl had never met him it wasn’t hard to figure out who he was.

Maggie barked a hello to Saul, not wanting him to get distracted from organizing the game, and then turned to her alpha again. He called out to her, and Maggie let a smile melt onto her face. She paid attention to Saul’s instructions briefly and knew what the team puppy was. “Sure, Mr. Conor,” she said eagerly, ready to have fun.

Saul had come to her and explained that he was putting a game together. Of course the Shimazu would never think of participating in such an event, but she did wish to support Saul in his endeavor and so agreed to come and watch the game. The morning the event was set to happen there was snow on the ground and it was definitely cold out in the open air. Tsukiko found a chair to take outside, refusing to let her kimono get wet and dirty by sitting on the ground, and set it up on the outskirts of the playing field the Stormbringer had set up. After that she went back inside and brewed some tea and found a blanket to take with her to help her keep warm while she watched. Rummaging through the kitchen of her house she had found a large, insulated cup that would be perfect for taking her tea out with her. All her other cups were quite small and she did not want to keep making trips back and forth to replenish her tea. Once the tea was made and poured into the large mug, Tsukiko took it and her blanket out to the chair she had set out.

The Japanese fey sat daintily on her chair, blanket laid out over her lap and legs, mug held carefully between her two hands. The players had assembled and she watched with veiled curiosity as Saul again explained the rules and the two teams divided up to their assigned side of the street. Tsukiko had never witnessed anything quite like this before, would she enjoy it? Only time would answer that question. She took a sip of her hot tea as the teams privately discussed their plans.

It was apparent to woman that some sort of communal gathering was happening when she heard Conor’s footsteps leave the house just minutes earlier; the town was demoting a small humming buzz of electricity with increased activity. Carefully she slithered off the couch, taking her satchel of and placing it neatly in a pile, after ensuring that its contents were stable. She cautiously slipped out of her living quarters and out the front door without much sound, and stalked after Conor’s footprints through the snow. It wasn’t long before she had him in her sights, and it had appeared that her assumption was somewhat correct, well mostly. At first it appeared like a gathering, but when the woman approached and shyly hovered behind Conor’s tall form, a fellow pack mate explained the rules.

A game? The surprises she was finding here were just getting better and better and the woman allowed a cute smile to veil itself across her maw with the mentioning of Conor being one of the team leaders. Thank the lord she had been blessed, someone she knew – well sort of, and of course she wanted to be involved in this activity, it simply sounded far too appealing to the girl. She moved forward slightly insistent she didn’t want to be perceived as a shy lamb to Conor’s side and tapped his arm gently, directing her velvet eyes to his face.

”Conor, im on your team, I don’t know anyone else” She almost whispered so that no other prying ears would detect her embarrassing message. With the time she had spent inside Conor and Bris’s residence her weight had slowly increased it’s mass around her body, the shallow outline of her once voluptuous figure moulding itself against her thin frame piece by piece. Her vision then wandered back to her host, and remembered what words had been circulated around Wolfville of the organised event. She offered the male a beautiful warming smile and nodded her head in confirmation of his words.

OOC goes here! WC:267

Test test test.

Range danced onto the field, searching for a familiar face. If he hadn't realized how large the Dahlia De Mai pack actually was, but he was definitely seeing it now. His first choice had been to go and nip at Gideon's ankles, but his father was no where to be found. The pup did his best not to let it crush his mood. After all, he was still going to get to play with adults, wasn't he? He could not remember a time where he had asked someone to play with him and they had said flat out "No.". But some times other wolves were to 'busy' to play. Not that this bothered Range much. He could twist the rules when chasing his tail; even if he missed- no one else would have to know. It was a win win situation.

At this moment, it didn't look like the game had started yet. One paw at a time he made his way towards Conor. He wasn't really sure how to speak to an alpha, but tried his best to sound polite.. Just like Gideon had taught him. "Does daddy come..?" He asked, cocking his head as he waited for a response. He looked back and forth between Conor's leggys and his own, comparing them just as he had done with Nayru. After a few seconds of that he remembered all the wonderful things a simple, polite word could get him. "Oh! Um. Please?" The pup hoped he would not mind repeating himself if he had said this before, as most adults had to with some younger wolves.

Finally I get around to posting this. Layla is an NPC here with Melee. SSWM: 608

Melee was so happy to hear that there was going to be a big pack wide game. She couldn’t wait until she arrived and found out which team she was on. She figured she would be on a different team than her brother and she couldn’t wait to play against him. She wondered who else would be on her team. The girl had bounded past her father and was heading to where everyone else was so she was there early. She came around to the house where Layla was staying at. At this point she was feeling better and had pretty much gotten over the loss of her first litter and was even interested in playing the game herself. She knew this would help her mood increase as well as bring her spirit back up from the shadows. The mistress had stepped out of her home and caught sight of the pup heading by. The pup smiled as she saw the female coming towards her. She figured if they were both heading for the same place then it would be better to travel together instead of alone. She padded over to the female who was in her optime form. The pup couldn’t help but admire her looks. She wondered if she would ever look as lovely as she was when she got older. She trailed along as her side as the black and white she wolf began to lead the way to where the pack was gathering to play the game. The larger female looked down to the pup and smiled. It was nice to have a pup around the pack lands and get to know her well. She did feel as if the pup was her own, even in the short time she had known her.

Melee and Layla soon arrived to where the other pack members were supposed to gather for the game. It didn’t seem like there were too many members around to begin the game, but then again it seemed they were a bit early. Melee was happy to hear that she was on Layla’s team and that she was the captain of their team. The pup jumped happily as the mistress sat down to plan out the game with her team. There was only one member of her team missing, but she wanted to prepare the other members so they could begin once everyone was here. The was so much excitement in the pup’s eyes. She was ready to play and couldn’t wait until everyone was here so that they could get started. Seeing as Melee was the youngest of all the team mates, she would be one of the pups for their team. She looked around for a leaf that she could use to put on her back, as were the rules for her part in the game. She turned to her other team mate as he asked about what they were going to do. The brown girl was prancing around with her leaf and looked over to the other team to see who their pup was going to be. She knew she wouldn’t be able to move around much, but maybe that would be able to use this to her advantage. She smiled and then looked to Layla as she was talking to her other team mates. ”We’re going to be attacking first so we’ll be going after their pups first. Not too sure on who’s going to be attacking who. We’ll have to wait and see once everyone gets here.” Melee laughed as she ran around their side of the field. ”This is going to be so much fun!”

I am a terrible, awful person and I deserve to be impaled with keyboards until pronounced dead. One super late, short post coming right up!

Glaiven rushed through Wolfville, not even stopping to admire the homes that were beautiful to her formerly vagabond-like mind. She was glad she had decided to finally settle down--even if she hadn't found a permanent residence yet. But the main point was that she was late! She was late to the game, the game she had heard about through various passing voices. Wherever a game was, Glaiven could most likely be found. Never wanting to give up the days of her not-so-distant youth, she tried to ignore the fact that she was getting older much quicker than she had hoped she would. She broke into a sprint upon seeing the rather large group of Dahlians gathered in the field, skidding to a stop a few feet shy of Saul. She had met the young male recently, and was glad to see that a familiar face was here. "Oh my goodness, I'm late! Where should I be and what should I be doing?!"

ooc;; Any questions? Okay, so make sure you post up who your wolf is aiming for and this should go without hiccup! Could I please ask for a little more punctuality this round? Try and get your replies up by 21st January so we can get this thread going quickly! ^^

Green eyes looked on in excitement as his plan appeared to be working. There was something quite satisfying about coming up with something and then actually following through with it. However, disappointment flashed in his eyes as Gideon's dark form failed to make itself known. But his niece and nephew were there so his brother must not be looking after them. He was certain he had called through Gideon's door this morning on his way out and that his brother had grunted back at him. Maybe he was still asleep- Gideon was known for beign asleep most of the time. He tried to push it aside and it was successfully pushed away when Aschers two-toned form came into view. Saul gave a smile towards his youngest brother before allowing the sounds of the teaming wolves wash over him.

He heard Conor talking to Maggie and Saul gave a little chuckle. He remembered meeting Maggie for the first time in St Pepin's Vineyard and then again near her home. She was a sweet child, full of energy and curiosty. He was distracted when the pale japanese female came out with a neat folding chair. She set herself up with a large mug of tea and a blanket and a smile was flashed in her direction. Layla and Melee had arrived at the same time and Layla addressed her team. He hoped she had figured out who was to make a break for Magnolia, else nobody would. The morning was nice and bright and as the teams settled to face each other Saul moved forward.

He was quick in his work, moving around to the smaller ones and tieing a sturdy leaf to each of their left legs. It only took a moment to do each of them and Saul backed away quickly as he felt the tension building. Wolves thrived on competition and this game was certainly based on competition. Green eyes flashed as he watched and waited for a moment. They would do fine with this game if they only went for one person of the other team. Conor would probably go for Layla, Ascher was likely to aim for the thin Shayna, Melee was surely going to go for her brother, which left Glaiven on Layla's team to go for Maggie. Or thats how Saul would have done it, had he played. Taking a deep breath he tried to make eye contact once with Ascher before speaking.

"Play fair guys! Ready... Set... Go!"

He barked, tail flickering back and forward as green eyes settled over the area to see how this panned out. If this game was succesful, he might suggest it again to the copper and gold leader that had been so enthusiastic about the game.

Argh, I did not see your last reply before today, Honey. I apologize. <3

Saul’s voice barked and the autumn hued form of the Soul male was no longer still and relaxed. A few steps were immediately taken backwards, instinctively protective of little Magnolia. White tipped tail lashed through the enthusiastic air surrounding him, though the invaders would not be treated lightly. Orbs of early sunsets decided to fixate on Layla, the opposing team’s leader. His form turned slightly to the side; further blocking the puppy from Layla’s point of view. Muscles tensed and limbs crouched to bring him lower to the ground to improve his ability to explode into movement to mirror and block Layla’s incoming moves. He was not an obsessively competitive wolf by any means, but today he had decided against being nice just for the sake of it. A wired smile harboured his lips, though the playful tension pulled his lips slightly upwards to hint of the sparkling white teeth.

Not a glimpse was thrown behind, as his entire focus had been transferred to the white and black woman. He trusted the rest of his crew would find their own target, and the puppy on his team seemed more than bright enough. They would do fine.
