Big Grin 500+

Snow crunched under her bare feet, and every inch of the white female shivered, despite her coat and her thickened fur. She set off early a few mornings before, after celebrating she and her brothers' coming of age celebration, with no real destination in mind; only a drive to see what lay beyond the northern lands she was slightly more familiar with. Shiloh, now considered an adult among her peers, didn't find it necessary to have a guardian or accompaniment wherever she went. Not that she had even needed it when she did return to Dahlia, but her father still did send out scouts to be sure she was going in the right direction.

Her direction now was south, and where she'd end up, Shi didn't really know. The white and cream colored female thought she had scented packs of other wolves nearby, but they still felt like they neighbored Dahlia. No, she wanted to know the lands beyond that, and as she walked that very day, the sun bright overhead (though it did little to help the winter cold), Shi was going to get exactly what she had asked for.

She thought she'd been traveling grasslands, and meadows all the previous day, but soon the lands began to change. It became forested in areas, and everything within it seemed almost touched, yet still retained its natural qualities. It wasn't long at all until the female, whose fur blended well in the season, reached a barbed fence, which looked too new and updated to have been man made. "Oh!" The female exclaimed, stopping just at the opening of the fence. Her nose picked up the scents of wolves; they weren't fresh, but not old enough to have escaped her senses, either. She lifted her muzzle up from the coat she wore, attempting to spot any signs of life past the fence.

Shiloh did not see other wolves. What she saw instead, however, was a small herd of wapiti among the trees that lay ahead, their noses pressed against tree trunks to strip off the plentiful bark it was coated with. There couldn't have been more than six of seven of them together, with two calves. The antlers of the males were just near to falling off, even she could see it from where she was standing, but that wasn't going to stop a herd from protecting the weak and the young.

Shiloh gasped when she saw them in the trees, and her eyes sparkled with joy as she saw them. "They're beautiful," she exclaimed into the air, her breath misty as she spoke. The young female had never seen elk before, though she was told of them when she was younger. Now more focused on getting a closer look at them, the female walked through the barbed wire fence, forgetting that this might have been another pack's territory. The female Luperci's tail wagged with delight, stopping just a few feet away from the edge of the trees, merely wanting to see the white-rumped creatures in their natural habitat.

Liliana decided that today she would help out Nayati, well try at least, she was not one to hunt by herself, but it was a good opportunity to start, as she’d learned of a herd of wapiti out near the boarders. She knew they were not so easy to catch but it was better than nothing. Getting grace ready was easy for her as she used no tack so all she had to do was grab a spear and she would be off, though she hoped that she could make a kill, even better she wanted to be sure she could get the kill home. She set out early, tracking the animals. It did take her some time to track them, not to mention actually finding a good strategy and by that time they were now cornered up near the fence… boy she wished Nayati was here. They could easily take them all down, but that’s not what she wanted anyway as they needed more for the next year, she was hoping to take down one of them. She had Grace move slowly as she held up her spear, her face intent on her job as she picked the oldest of the group she took a deep breath and as soon as she got close enough, she threw the spear, missing the animal she wanted causing them the run, she cursed herself, and was about to move away and follow them, when something caught her sight, a wolf… had jumped over the barbed fence. She trotted to where her spear landed. Checking to see if she didn’t graze the animal, but saw no fur nor flesh on it, then turned her attention to the young female

I really hope you got permission to go over that fence.

She was a soft wolf and he voice was soft spoken too, she was not the confident wolf that her love was, but she knew what it meant when someone trespassed…

Her blue eyes were held captivated by the creatures, who merely stood there either glancing around, or using their teeth to gnaw off tree bark and wag their triangular-like tails. She then wondered exactly how far she had traveled, and let her fingers wrap the coat even tighter to her. Would her brothers be worried? Should she be worried? Now that she had the ability to shift (and she hadn't gone back on all fours since), the young white female understood why Luperci made spears, or other hunting weapons when tooth and nail weren't good enough. It was a good thing Shiloh had eaten earlier, had she been starving she might have been tempted to bring down one of the smaller, cute calves.

As if her thoughts matched the present, Shi was suddenly taken aback as the herd moved off in a scuttle. It wasn't at a normal pace, either, something or someone had spooked them. That was when she turned her attention to another wolf, sitting atop a beautiful horse. They were approaching her, but Shi didn't even move from her spot, the snow around her beginning to move as her feet shifted it away.

Shi almost didn't hear the other female speak, she was too transfixed by the horse. She had never really seen one this close. Once, when she was younger, she tried to get a good look at one when she was in Inferni, but her father had pushed her away from it. "No, but.. why did you scare the elk off? I was watching them from here." Her tone sounded a bit annoyed, which wasn't all too kind for someone like her, a trespasser, to be directing to a wolf that belonged on the lands Shiloh encroached upon.

Her ears flicked in the direction of the female, and then noticed the long spear that she had carried. "You're not hunting them for fun, are you?" She inquired, her tail flicking once from behind her. What nerve some wolves had, hunting was no sport, and killing wasn't meant to be done for fun. Hunting out of necessity wasn't all that fun in itself - it was messy, and gory. In Shiloh's eyes, it seemed to her that this female on horseback was doing just that.

It seemed that the white female was much younger than Liliana anticipated as she seemed to try to take charge of the situation. Though she seemed to be transfixed by Lili’s mare. It was good that the young woman did not move from her spot though as she spoke asking about the Wapiti

Those weren’t elk, they were Wapiti, and I was hunting.

she said, blushing a little that her own skills were not the best, and that she had to miss the animal entirely, right in front of an outsider no less. She moved grace closer to the girl, who asked her if she was hunting for fun… this made Liliana slightly angry…

Hunting is not made to be fun, it’s to feed the bellies of a pack.

She said, her anger only showing in her words as she started talking herself down inside of her head… she’s only a child, she doesn’t know better… she kept repeating to herself. Of course as this female had been able to change, she was not a child at all, she was in fact closing in on adulthood. Grace stopped about a foot from the young woman. Liliana held her spear tightly unsure of this girl, though she could see she had some kind of a soft spot for the horse as she was staring right at her the whole time..

You like horses?

If anyone could get off her bad side, it was that they could possibly have the same passion for the animals that she did. She cared for them more than most of her pack members, well except maybe Nayati, but she found refuge with the animals more appealing than a group of her own kind… it was the way things worked for her, she’d been a loner all her life up to now, though it was possible that one day she’d care more for the company of her own kind, it was far into the future.

+3. Technically they're the same, but I guess in the eyes of the AniWaya, they're always referred to as wapiti, yeah? Oh, and let me know if the tiny pp with Grace here is okay, otherwise I can change it <3.

"Wah..peetee..?" Shiloh shook her head, not really understanding the word, or saying is as easily as the other female did. The creatures looked like elk to her. Or at least, that's how her father had described them to her. The young female really wished the herd wasn't spooked, so she could just stay there and get a good look at them, but as Shiloh's eyes rested on the long spear of the other female, she would have run off spooked as well.

"Hunting is not made to be fun, it’s to feed the bellies of a pack." The white and cream colored female nodded curtly, agreeing with the stranger before her. "Yes, well, I'm glad we both think that way. So long as it has a purpose," she said shortly, with another small nod. Her cerulean eyes widened as the horse was led closer to her, and Shi took a step back in shock. Never had she been this close to a horse before, not close enough to touch one. Its long nose was just fingertips away, and Shiloh's heart skipped a beat.

The female's question somewhat threw her off, for Shiloh's hand was already almost extended to touch the nose of the animal. "What? Oh!" Shiloh was near to asking permission to touch the horse, but it went ahead and nudged its nose into her gentle paw much to her surprise. Her tail wagged behind her, unable to explain the sensation that went through her. The mere strength she felt of the beast before her was astounding in and of itself, but the horse moved its face away just as soon as it had come.

Shiloh took a step back, her eyes still lingering on the horse, and her hand still able to feel its power. The young damsel moved to the side of the horse and its rider, looking down the creature's length before looking back up at the female with the long spear. "What's her name?"

Normally Liliana was a stickler for points, she nodded when the girl repeated what she said about the animal she had just tried to hunt and miserably failed. She normally would have chased after them or went to find another herd or waited for them to calm before trying again… but as there was a trespasser here she did not do any of those. She was thinking that this young girl was less and less of a trespasser and more of an accidental intruder, though.

She watched as the girl held out her hand to Grace, and what surprised Liliana more was that Grace actually nosed at the pale girl’s hand, she couldn’t help but feel slightly jealous but she was happy her horse was finally beginning to accept more wolves. So she used that thought to ebb the jealousy away and she smiled at the girl as she slid off the chestnut onto her own feet.

Her name is Grace, my name is Liliana Vess.

She introduced herself and gave a slight bow to the girl in greeting, not sure of what her customs were at all. Once she was closer though she could smell a bit of a familiar pack on her, and she knew that Shiloh was not going to harm anyone or anything in AniWaya. After all she knew many wolves that came from Dahlia, and there seemed to be more and more trickling in Lili’s life little by little.

As Shiloh moved to get a better look at the horse in all of.. her.. beauty, she gracefully took a step back as the stranger dismounted. She bowed to the white female, and Shiloh in turn gave half a curtsy and half a bow, before fixing her hair to where it was not moments ago. "Charmed. I'm Shiloh Dawnr-bringer," the young damsel said, nearly having given the last name she was born with. But she decided, before she came back home to Dahlia, that she'd mix the two names together, and create 'Dawnbringer'. It had a nice ring to it, too.

"She's beautiful.. how long have you had her?" She said into the cool air as her head nodded in the direction of the chestnut mare. Her cerulean eyes followed the end of her thoughts, her face brimming with wonder. Shi wondered what it was even like to ride a horse, or even just take it for a run. It didn't matter at that moment, for this was the first time the white and cream colored female was this close to one.

Then, it occurred to Shiloh the scents that she picked up on the other female. It was unfamiliar to her, but it carried scents of several different kinds of wolves. The white female's eyes widened a bit, looking back at the black furred wolf before her. "Is there.. a pack nearby?" It never occurred to the pristine woman that she had entered pack lands, and was therefore a stranger. Or an intruder, as many would like to say. Clearing her throat, she tried not to look too surprised at her sudden intrusion, and glanced out at the open plains, and to the forest where the wapiti disappeared not long ago. Exactly how far had she traveled? Shi knew she'd have to turn back eventually, but this.. Liliana, who carried a long spear and owned a horse, became far more interesting a day than journeying back home.

WC:372 (2 Points) OOC: <3 sorry took so long, shaw became very lazy

Liliana smiled but said nothing, she wasn’t sure if she was entirely pleased that she was meeting the young woman in these circumstances, she was sure ok with the young woman as she took a liking to Grace. She had to think, how long had she had Grace? Thinking back it had been the beginning of summer, and she had to count, it took her a little while as she wasn’t very learned in math, but she finally had her answer

About five months give or take, she’s been a very good companion since I got her.

She said, the memory of her obtaining the horse was still fresh in her head, she’d seen her mother do it, though she never tried until Heath had come along and helped her at it, the horse picked her, she didn’t pick the horse. She was in a way like her spirit guide who wanted to protect her in her life. Liliana knew that she had to take care of the horse though, and that they would live a life where each could thrive together. It seemed that Shiloh had learned that she was either trespassing… though it seemed more to Liliana that she thought she was only close to trespassing.

You are in fact in AniWayan territory, my tribe started other there where that fence is.

She was letting her know that she was in a way trespassing, but Liliana was going to look it over, how could she not? It seemed that the girl had been so in tuned to what she was doing at first and was overwhelmed after. Liliana knew she was willing to overlook it and wanted the young woman to know.

Have you seen a horse before? If you want I can show you our stables, I’m sure the other horses would enjoy company other than myself.

Liliana offered, she was in fact sure the horses would be scared of Shiloh, but she wanted to get the horses used to the fact that random wolves did come around, as well as new wolves that were a part of the pack. They did have plenty of visitors so she had a reason to want the horses on their best behavior.

+3. You're allowed to be lazy on holidays <3

Cream and white furred arms crossed over one another, listening to Liliana speak. Cerulean eyes grazed over the stranger, who wasn't much of one anymore, then to the beautiful horse that shook its head before them. Every movement the mare seemed to do was graceful, though it seemed to Shiloh that Grace (and a fitting name, at that) was agitated by standing in one spot for so long. Shiloh nodded her head once as she heard the other finish her sentence, her eyes marveling at the whole of the creature.

"Hm?" Was the sound that came from her throat, at the mention of being in another territory. AniWaya? The young female had never heard of it before. The Dawnbringer female looked at Liliana then, and then to the fence which she crossed not long ago to take a look at the elk.. or Wapiti.. or whatever they were. A small 'o' formed on her lips, then, but it didn't seem like this horse-rider would chase her off, so Shiloh merely shrugged.

"On behalf of Dahlia de Mai," Shi stated, looking quite proud as she spoke. "Thank you for allowing me onto AniWayan territory." She said the pack's name oddly, it was still weird to say strange words like 'Wapiti' or 'AniWayan'. But she remembered, as her father and her aunt taught her and her brothers, to speak formally when approaching one's pack.

The young damsel was almost engrossed in these thoughts when she heard Lili speak again, inviting her to see more horses. "There's more?!" She said, eyes widened. Shi had seen horses before, sure, but never ones in large groups. But she tried to compose herself then, and closed her eyes for a brief moment and cleared her throat. Then she spoke again, in a more adult tone. "I'd love to."

It seemed that even though Shiloh had trespassed she was quick to alter it to where she was more welcome than not… Liliana liked that and she smiled in return to the young woman’s comment.

On behalf of AniWaya welcome. I do hope next time you howl first I’m sure not as territorial as some here.

She smiled warmingly, remembering again her first encounter with her chief. She elt that memory go because unless Shiloh was acting on harmful terms Liliana wasn’t that strong unhappy type to come up and tell them outright they didn’t belong there… even if it really was true that they didn’t.

Well lets go then, we have a little walk for us, so no worries.

She said as she started moving. Grace didn’t need to be told to move, and she actually started up ahead of Liliana, which she normally was if she wasn’t being ridden… she was in fact lead mare material, and though Liliana was her caretaker, she was still in charge of Liliana in many ways… at least that’s what the mare thought. Lili still challenged her for her own place of course.

What brought you down this way? It’s a bit of a ways from your home.

She asked hoping to make idle conversation as they moved through the trees towards the path that would take them to her home, and ultimately to the stables… this was the third time she’s done this too, and it still excited her to no end to show off her home to anyone who wanted to see it. Even if it was her first permanent home, and she wasn’t born here… or remotely close to here. She still considered it home, it was where she knew she would raise a family, fight, and ultimately die. Those all were for the future to decide though, right now she wanted to show the young female the horses, and even pony’s she took care of, though they did have the cows, she was not too entirely fond of, she did take care of them well enough though. With the same care she did the horses, though she called them lazy brutes, and had to use quite a bit more force for the lazy lards, they were still treated well enough.

Shiloh was just a little put off by the whole... howling thing. Proper ladies did not howl if they wanted attention, even if they were on another pack's borders. The damsel slightly stuck her nose up at this, but of course Lili wouldn't understand. No other wolves did either, come to think of it. Howling was completely appropriate for a stranger to gain attention within the lands of a pack they came upon. It just didn't seem appropriate to Shiloh, was all, and in her mind.. as long as she wasn't a threat to the land or anyone within, she'd be fine.

"Right," she said rather absentmindedly, not wanting to go into the whole ordeal with the horse riding female. Looking back at her, she watched as Liliana directed the horse and it began to trot forward at the simple pressure of its reigns, with Lili at its side. Shi seemed to look on for a moment, but when she realized they were a distance from her, the pristine female rushed to catch up to them. As she slowed into step with the horse's gait, she watched from the corner of her cerulean eyes how each muscle was put to work in the large horse, bunching up in some places and relaxing in others. Shiloh could only imagine what a horse would be like when they ran, she heard somewhere that it was a majestic sight indeed. Now, if she could only imagine riding one--

"..this way? It’s a bit of a ways from your home." This was all Shiloh could catch while glancing at the horse and walking along the trees, where the Wapiti once were. "Oh, well.. I just wanted to see the lands for myself!" The Dawnbringer female piped in, now looking straight ahead to wherever they were going. "First time I've been able to be out on my own," she continued, idly pushing a cream-colored lock of hair away from her face. "I'm not really sure how far I've gone.." It was a sort of cue for the other to tell her just how far south she had come, as Shiloh turned her muzzle sideways to face the female.

WC: 227 OOC: She in fact is walking, she thinks it rude to ride while another person walks <3 but you only have to change a small bit of it <3

Liliana could see the look Shiloh was giving her, and of course she didn’t understand it, and she had already given her warning, that was enough for the mix breed. As they walked she saw that the young woman was staring at Grace, Lili couldn’t help but smile. She’d seen other wolves do the same when she had Grace, or even another horse. not everyone knew about them or knew they were so useful for so many things. Grace kept ahead of them. Liliana knew the horse wouldn’t run away, and was confident that the horse knew her way home too.

I see, it is a bit of a walk back, though I’m sure nothing for you to compare to, if anything you can rest the night here and head home in the morning. It is a bit of a ways and walking back in the dark is not always a comforting sight, especially in the forest.

She said, offering her hospitality was only a small helpful hint to the young woman. Liliana did not see this girl laying in the dirt by a fire, something Liliana did quite often. She could see a pampered child who, well… didn’t get dirty. So thinking of where they were headed did make Liliana smile as it was one of the dirtier places around AniWaya, besides the swamp of course.

As much as the young damsel wanted to keep looking at how gracefully the horse walked beside her, Shiloh did have to pay attention to where she was going. A small rock reminded her, as she stumbled over it but was able to catch her footing. Shiloh paused for a moment, but then kept on walking, huffing as if it was the small rock's fault for her almost falling to the dirt. And that would have just been awful.

Then the Dawnbringer female listened as Lili began to speak to her, and the pristine female smiled slightly at the invitation of staying for the night. As if she didn't intend to, Shiloh attempted to look grateful, and she was, though acting as if the news was a shock for her. "Oh, could I? I don't want to be too much trouble," she said as she pushed a lock of hair away from her face. "That would be lovely, thank you." She spoke with sincerity, and with manners that only she taught herself, then looked out straight ahead of them again when the black furred female mentioned the forests at night.

"Urf, tell me about it," Shi said, shivering at the thought. Who knows what crept around in the forests at night, but even worse... Shiloh might not have been able to see exactly where she was going. And that meant the possibility of running into a big beast that could attack her... or worse - trip and get absolutely filthy. Shiloh shivered again, more-so at the latter thought than anything else. Trying not to think about it, she glanced at the horse rider who walked beside her. "Have you ever been to Dahlia de Mai before? It's a lovely place."

And lovely it was. Shiloh felt that she fit in there perfectly, even without most of her family members being in the same pack - the same house, even! Everyone was kind and thoughtful, helping one another out. When Shi stayed in Inferni, she felt like she had to stick close to her father for fear of getting her perfectly white fur ripped to shreds. They knew many disliked her there, and with daddy around, nothing could hurt her. Cerulean eyes were filled with some sadness for a moment, remembering the only relative that was a distance from her now. Shi wasn't sure if she'd venture into Inferni again to see her father, no matter how much she loved him.

WC: 370 OOC: woo hoo

Liliana smiled at the girl as she seemed happy enough to accept Liliana’s offer to let her lodge for the night in AniWaya. Liliana knew she had no room for the young girl in her own hut, but there was plenty in the town hall in which had a few extra beds for guests and new members, before they acquired their own place to live.

That’s great, and yeah it’s not too dangerous, just daunting, and the moonlight doesn’t always shine through the trees at night.

She said, she had traveled through the small bit of forest that AniWaya had claimed a few times herself, upon her own return. She was use to it though, she didn’t know every nook and cranny, but she knew where to walk. They were coming up to the clearing now, the ever faithful one. The one where it let others hesitate to look at the sight before them. Aniwaya was a tribe and as such they had their own little living area, which was full of huts, and the great fire was close beside it, glowing brightly even in the daytime. Snow was laden over all of the huts making it look picture perfect. A serene little place, though it was full of life in its own way. Further from that was the stables, where the girls were headed. Liliana was always so proud of this sight and gave her guests a few seconds to take it all in. Grace didn’t wait though, she trotted through the snow. She never waited, she had seen this sight so many times and it did not phase her one bit. Liliana wasn’t here to impress the horse though so she let the beast hurry on her way.

Welcome to AniWaya village

She said after a while, then she motioned for Shiloh to follow her and they headed down to where the horses were being held. The cows were still out, and she knew she’d have to bring them in soon, she didn’t care much for them. For some reason she felt hungry every time she looked at the dumb beasts. Moving down the slope towards the stables, she was thinking of who to show to Shiloh first.

483 words. I dunno if you saw it, but Shi asked if Lili has been to DDM before XD. I guess I'll act like Shi's voice was lost in the crowd when they came to AniWaya.

The forest was no place for a wolf, Shiloh had concluded. She didn't care what others had to say about it, unspeakable horrors happened in forests - night or day. The tree limbs that could snag, the terrifying creatures that could kill and eat a lone wolf, and all the little crevices and dips that were full of mud or swamp muck, just waiting to be fallen into. Shiloh shuddered once again, though it wasn't because of the cold, and wrapped her small hands around her to comfort herself.

Her fear vanished, however, at the scents of several wolves were coming in fresh in the pristine female's nostrils. As the trees parted in their perfect moment, like curtains unveiling before a show, they came onto the village. Cerulean eyes beamed at all the different things that were so... different! Shiloh had never seen houses so small and round before, and made out of simpler materials. The ground, as expected, covered with snow, and beneath that nothing but cold hard ground. Wolves shuffled left and right, and though they seemed busy, they walked with calm and graceful steps. It seemed like they were in no hurry at all, and a few even waved in the trio's direction.

"Oh my," she Dawnbringer female breathed out. Her breath misted in front of her before disappearing once more, as they kept on walking. Shiloh's bright blue eyes still took in the serene view before her, and walked slower than the horse and the rider she met not minutes before. The pristine female looked on with interest at all the clothing they wore, and wished she could have made some in the same style. Nothing was too bright or too dull, and the patterns were simple, yet classy. Some leather garments were adorned with feathers or beads, of the brightest and fullest quality one could make, which was what Shiloh loved even more. She noticed some women with feathers in their hair, like hair pieces that she herself would wear out of flowers. She glanced back at Liliana, and had just now noticed that she did the same as the other AniWayans.

She was motioned over, and followed without hesitating. Shiloh would definitely get to know this village better - the people, their ways, and their customs. The terrain sloped downwards, and Shiloh watched her feet as they descended the small hillside. Her face scrunched up at the smell of cattle, who were easy to spot, then began to wonder what animals didn't these wolves provide for. "This place.. it's so different from Dahlia," she admitted into the frostbitten air over to Lili, who was just ahead of her, and the mare just a hoof ahead of that. The pristine female was glad to have walked so far, perhaps there was more knowledge than she thought she'd take back with her when she headed home the next day.

WC: 339 OOC: WOO HORSIES!!!

As expected she got the same reaction from the young woman as she had with Heath, and Layla, it was such a good feeling for Liliana though. To know that she was in such a unique pack. They moved across the snow filled grasslands towards the stables, the other girl taking in everything. Liliana did like it better in the summer, everyone was all busy, and it was green everywhere, though she didn’t think anything could compare with autumn, when the leaves seemed to change over night and Liliana had taken that same path she had been dumbstruck for a second time in her life over such beauty.

Yes it is quite a unique pack, I think there is only one other like it, but much bigger. I’ve been all over and have never seen something like this myself, well until I moved here.

She said, as the drew closer to the stables. She wasn’t sure how the young female would react to the place, it was smelly, and quite a dirty place, and from the looks of things Shiloh liked being clean.

Here we are, I hope you don’t mind the smell, horses tend to use the restroom almost anywhere I’m afraid.

That was something she couldn’t teach the horses. She’d do it in a heartbeat, to teach them that to go outside was much better than going in their stalls, but it was the way things were and she was happy with it. She opened the door, letting in the mare first, and then Shiloh next. The stalls were full of horses and some even had the four cows that they owned, hopefully to be bred soon. Though Liliana was not looking forward to it all. She was not a fan of the stupid beasts, they had a horribly stubborn quality about them. But they would not be the ones getting attention as they were here for the horses. Many of them were at attention when Liliana entered the room staring at the odd pair of females.

469 words. Wheeeee! <3 DIRT ALERT.

The pack that she ventured into was unlike any other Shiloh had seen. Of course, she had yet to visit other packs of the lands, but none she had seen or heard of had been so.. primitive. Totem poles lined entrances, furs and leathers and ivory made for decoration over hut-like houses. It seemed that the AniWayans enjoyed living this way, taking what nature had to offer and using and re-using what the world offered. Shiloh had briefly heard stories of these kinds of wolves, who believed in spirits and that every rock, tree, and animal had a spirit, one that guided the wolves throughout their lives.

She had to tear her glistening cerulean eyes away from the scene, there would definitely be time for that later. The pristine female's thoughts seemed to be answered by the black female in front of her, who guided all of them to the stables. "It's.. different." Well, it was. From what she herself saw, it wasn't a bad kind of different. But in a way, their customs seemed to be sleeping on the hard packed dirt, and a small shiver coursed through her body just thinking of it. The white female hoped she wouldn't have to do that, tonight.

But when Liliana mentioned something about 'the smell', Shiloh's nose didn't even have to be told. She could scent it as they drew near to the stables, and the smell grew thicker and more rancid. "Augh!" The young damsel said aloud, immediately plunging her nose into the depths of her leather coat. What an awful smell it was, too! This wasn't at all what Shiloh had imagined about horses - graceful, majestic horses, that ran as free as the wind across fields of gold, manes flowing out behind them. No, no.

Reluctantly, the white and cream colored female entered the stables after Lili and her horse. Her nose stayed inside her coat, though the smell permeated through the thick garment rather easily. If only clothes were made to hide smells. Shiloh glanced around through the top of her coat, which hid everything below her eyes. There were cows inside, which didn't help the scents of the stables. Truthfully, Shiloh had expected to smell fresh grass and clean air, not.. not this.

The horses, she saw, were of many different markings and patterns, which intrigued Shiloh. Her muzzle lifted up only slightly, watching as the heads of the horses, from behind each of their stalls, looked up at the three that entered. "How lovely," she muffled through her coat. Shiloh wasn't trying to be rude, but the stink was beyond what she imagined. And though the Dawnbringer female wasn't thinking of it then, as she looked at each horse, how many baths she'd have to take to get the arid smell off of her.

WC: 355 OOC: Smile

It seemed Shiloh was so interested in the village itself, though she wondered if it was in a good way or a bad way, in any case she was sure the young woman was just taking it all in and understanding what it all was about, though the wolf would have possibly different ideas of what the insides of the huts looked like, as Liliana had her own bed, and not just something thrown together. Lili liked to sleep well at night. Even the town hall had a few beds for the guests, and they were well kept.

As Liliana thought the woman plugged her nose with a distasteful yelp at the smell of the stables, and they had not even gone inside yet. She turned to see that her clothing was now hiding her nose and all Liliana could see was the young girls’ nose. Liliana gave a sad smile to the girl, wishing she could make it better, but she normally kept the whole place nice and clean, but she couldn’t help horse’s pooed quite a bit. She seemed willing to risk the smell though as she came in. Liliana walked over to one of the first stalls, which held Ralla’s horse which was named Sugar, and she had kept it that way too, which made Lili feel happy about it.

They all have different personalities, but most of them are very calm. You can pet if you want to.

She said, touching the dark brown, almost black nose. He was much like her in color though it was all solid unlike her. His features were nice, though she did not regret one bit giving him to her packmate, who had fast became a friend.

If you want, I can let some out into the pasture, they are rather nice and quite inquisitive, that way you do not have to stay in here with the smell.

She did feel bad for the young woman, and could relate, though it was now no more than just a little odor to her own nose as she smelled it most of her life, if not all.

515 words. Think of this face the entire time you read this: >:d

Shiloh always made things obvious, not only when it came to her emotions, which she wore on her sleeve. Awful smells, tastes, touches, being dirty.. this was just a pawful of things Shi expressed distaste to avidly. She knew the other female understood, though owning a horse herself, she had to have been used to the smell by now. Her face remained buried in her leather coat, following the female as she approached a horse with nearly the same coloration as she. Cerulean eyes wandered over Lili for a moment, now realizing that she had never seen a wolf with characteristics like hers. The pristine female wondered briefly what sort of mix she was, for she had never seen another wolf with the same fur patterns.

Her focus was back on the horse in front of her, as Liliana invited her to pet one. Feeling stuffy with half her face buried in the top of her coat, Shi struggled, but eventually decided she would grin and bear the smell. Slowly she lifted her cream laced face from the jacket, grimacing at the arid smell of horses and cattle. Deciding instead to focus on how the majesty of the horse itself, she lifted a paw to the horse that Lili pet, and her paws graced over its cheeks briefly. Again she felt the strong muscles of the beast, and felt that urge to ask the female next to her what it felt like to be on one, much less ride one.

When she retracted her hand, she focused on Lili once more, and her suggestion nearly made Shiloh's eyes tear up with joy. How she wanted fresh air, and though she knew she should have politely refused as a guest in Lili's home, Shiloh could not help her ways. "That'd be lovel-- Ah!" As she spoke, she already felt herself walking somewhat backwards, to the stable doors they had come into, but as she did so, Shiloh stepped into a pile of half dry manure. Her entire body froze up as she felt something squish under her feet, and a sickening feeling began to build up inside of her. She dared look down, and saw what she feared - she stepped into horse dung. "Ahhhh!" the pristine female squealed, unable to contain her displeasure now.

Almost instinctively, she turned and ran back outside, sucking in fresh air like she had been holding her breath for too long. A few AniWayan wolves turned their heads at the scene below the camp, watching as the white guest began to drag her feet across the grass, her ears flat against her cream colored head. The smell of horse manure clung to her, at least in her mind, but when she dragged her foot across the grass, she seemed to dig her heel in, which brought up fresh dirt. Well now the manure was gone, but now there was dirt. Tears formed in the corners of Shiloh's eyes, feeling she just could not win. She needed to find water, a lake, a trough .. anything to fix this awful dilemma.

Things seemed to be going quite well for them, that was until Shiloh stepped in some manure that had been left that morning, a feet that Lili rarely did, it was possible someone had left it there after their horse left it but she was not going to blame anyone. She quickly grabbed a towel and hurried outside where the creamy girl was pulling her foot across the the snow and grass, trying to make it better.

Relax, let me get it cleaned and I can get you a bath, I know where a less…. Cold spot is, come on.

She said, taking the creek, which had frozen over, the walk was slightly longer than Lili had expected, it seemed that the young woman seemed to be in shock. Liliana stopped before the water’s edge, which was covered in thin ice at the moment and broke through with her paw. There the lightly flowing water revealed itself, and she felt bad for Shiloh but presented the clean flowing water to the girl.

Just your foot, I think that we can find a more suitable bath for you.

After all they were not savages, and Liliana lived a clean life of her own. She liked feeling clean, though she thought that this young girl was going a bit far.
