Marino bear freak out!

Let's do this! >Big Grin Sorry if I missed anyone's names, but you know who you are. I'll talk to Shaw about when Denali can pop in, but everyone else is pretty much free to come in whenever.

Winter was here, and though Mala's eyes drooped occasionally, she willed herself awake and moving. She had found a den farther south, but truthfully the creature wasn't all too sure how long she'd be able to keep herself confined there. Her body displayed all the signs of hibernation, feeding herself to make her size even more massive than it already was. Presently, her large, shaggy form shuffled about the sandy beach, where snow was still present but the shores licked it clean of the white powder. Malachi wasn't sure why she found herself wandering in this direction, she wasn't very hungry nor was she trying to find any companions.

The scents around the area reminded her of the time she and Denali met, however, and it made her smile and her large heart melt. That place, where someplace nearby a pack dwelt and lived prosperously, were now a place of fond memories of her first encounter with a pup since the creature's banishment from the tribe. Her paws made imprints on the wet sand, though she was careful not to get too close to the water that came in waves on the land. The female trailed on, inhaling and exhaling deep breaths of cool air, wishing for a brief moment that Denali would be there to play.

'But you're a lone wolf,' Mala told herself as she waddled along. 'And you shouldn't be here intruding on pack territory.' Then, as if another voice popped into her head: 'But you know someone here, the pup of the alpha female.' Malachi's mind seemed to be in conflict with itself, as her large head hung low on her neck, the familiar necklace dangling from her fat folds. She stopped at a rock on the sand that looked familiar, her nose wriggling with scents both familiar and foreign, plopping her mass down on the earth and gazing into the horizon, where the beginnings of sunset loomed.

Rawr! Maybe we can go a round or two before others jump in Noelle? 300+

The days were getting colder, and while patrolling the borders was becoming more unpleasant, it was still a duty that had to be done. Savina tended to spend a lot of her time during the cold moons in her optime form, when she could wear her scarf and coat, but walking around the whole of Crimson Dreams on two legs took exponentially longer than it did on four. The end of the day was coming and the Consul had almost finished. All that was left was to swing by the southern part of the territory along the beach and then to head back up to the mansion and snuggle up with her mate. Perhaps she would even make a fire in the main room. The thought of the warmth of the house was enough to make the Italian woman pick up her pace, lithe legs moving swiftly towards Riunione Beach.

There had been nothing on her patrols lately to cause concern so the sable lupine's mind was far from being on alert. As she neared the crashing sounds of the ocean however, a scent hit her nose that made her freeze in her tracks. Bear. The hair along the Dreamer's back stood on end and her heart was now pounding in her chest. Her mind flashed back to her last encounter with one of the large beasts. She remembered running and being sure she was not going to escape, but then her mother had distracted the bear and as it chased after her the rocks they were on gave way and her mother had fallen to her death.

Savina crouched low to the ground and approached with the utmost caution. It was slightly foolish to approach the larger predator on her own, but she did not wish to howl and alert it to her presence and she could not turn her back when there was such a danger in her pack. Soon she was able to see the hulking creature sitting on the beach and she had to deal with her fight or flight reflex. It was huge. She shouldn't go any closer to it, she should call for help, but the image of her mother flashed through her head. No, she wasn't going to let one of these things hurt or kill anyone else she loved. A snarl formed on her muzzle and her body began to change into her rarely used halfling form, the darkness in her subconsciousness stirring.

The Consul stepped bravely forward on large paws, her ebony fur bristled as her emerald eyes gleamed as if fueled by hot coals. A deep growl rumbled loudly in her chest. She charged forward at the bear before coming to a stop a couple yards away and snarling as menacingly as she could. Maybe she would be lucky and the bear would be scared off. Otherwise, she would resort to tooth and claw.

That's fine! I'd say after you reply to this post, someone else can jump in, maybe? Big Grin

Her long, five-digit claws scratched idly at her belly, something she had always loved to do. In fact, scratching became second nature to her, and what Malachi loved most was pushing her back against a tree and finding spots she couldn't reach. Back in her tribe, several of the young pups made a game out of scratching Mala's back, just to see if they could put her to sleep and shirk on her pup-sitting duties. How she missed those days.

The creature's thoughts were brought back to the present, though, as her rounded ears picked up sounds of movement. "Denali?" She said as she turned her head, hoping to see her young friend someplace. Instead of the bright, playful young eyes, however, an aggressive wolf, in her halfling form, appeared before her. Mala's own honey eyes widened in fear, and she immediately went from a standing position to her belly slinking low on the ground - the submissive pose.

"K-k-kwe.." she began, her voice breaking as she saw the female, obviously pissed, snarling at her. "Mesgei'.. did I h-happen upon y-y-your packlands?" At first she apologized in her native tongue, but switched right back. As large as the shaggy creature was, every ounce of her was now shaking, afraid of an attack. "I'm a f-f-friend.. a friend of Denali," the female blurted, hoping it might ease the tension that now hung heavy on the early evening air.

Sure! And gawd I feel like such a bully D: Savi is usually nice, I swear!

The bear turned towards her and its eyes widened, legs crouching low to the ground. This threw Savina off for a moment, though her expression never changed. She had expected one of two outcomes: either the bear would take off from her display or it would come after her and attack. The latter had seemed by far the most likely, but she certainly hadn't expected the beast to cower there. Then it started talking. The words were not ones she could understand at first, but then it turned into English. What was this? How could it talk? The Consul had no knowledge of the ability of other predators being able to speak to one another. Surely the beast was trying to trick her somehow. Bears were dangerous, she knew this to her core.

The woman was too adrenaled to make sense of most of the things that the bear said, but the name that it spoke made a half bark, half snarl come from her. Denali was her son. She would not let this bear touch her son! Her tail lashed behind her in anger. Her display was clear, the creature was not welcome here, would not be permitted to terrorize her home and yet it stayed. "Get out!" she growled as she sprang forward, heading towards the bear's back leg. Savina leap, aiming to sink her teeth in wherever she could gain purchase. One thing she knew through her haze of rage was to stay away from the front and those long, deadly claws. If she could just attack it from behind, she could drive it out.

Herp Derp, here I am despite it all. XP I give Jazper (or whoever) permission to pp Ghita however much she needs to - seeing as I will not be around until New Years. :/
Wc: 500

This wasn't the first time that Ghita had taken her children out for a walk around the territory, but it was certainly the longest distance they'd gone. With the three squirming youths growing bigger by the minute, so did their appetite for adventure, and their energy levels were practically through the roof. No longer were they satisfied with romping around on the porch of the Manor - now they had to practically charge full-force around the territory. At least they were following each other for the most part - for that Ghita thanked whatever being was watching this odd procession.

Tony was in the lead, followed by Fia closely at his heels, with the more timid Lorenzo lagging closer to his mother. Finally grabbing the slower pup by the scruff, the fae galloped after her faster children who were rapidly leaving them in the dust. But it only took about six minutes before Ghita's nose picked up a scent - one she hadn't encountered before, but one that made a cold shiver trickle down her spine. Putting her dormant muscles to good use, the fae sped up, eventually catching up to her children before bear or sister came into sight. Dropping Lorenzo gently onto the floor, Tony and Fia blinked up at the turquoise-orbed fae with surprise, small heads tilting with curiosity and tails wagging with eagerness. "Stop - wait a moment.." She barked, using her maternal voice she only took when she truly meant business.

That scent... it smelt of berries and other plants for the most part, but it also spoke of a heavy mammal, something that even the Venator had never come across. But what was most worrying was which scent came with it - Savina's. As soon as this fact sunk in, Ghita's posture straightened up like a shot, every muscle tensing in her body, including the muscles around her heart. Whatever this creature she could smell was, it didn't smell friendly, or small enough to fend off easily. Heart leaping into her throat, Ghita didn't think twice before charging after the creature, three confused frames trailing after her.

"Hey! Oaf! Leave my sister alone!" The fae snarled, stopping ten feet from the fighting pair. Ghita herself had never seen a bear personally, but she'd heard descriptions enough, and this was as close as she'd have liked to get. Torn between charging the bear herself and keeping her pups close to her body, the mother anxiously kneaded the snow beneath her paws, Tony nipping at the paws that descended. As the ivory girl pranced forward to investigate, Ghita quickly snapped her jaws lightly on the retreating tail before dragging her back, keeping a paw against her chest. Opening her maw to the sky, she let out a howl that sounded around the territory - one that had only been used a few times in the past - one that called of utmost danger that needed immediate attention. "Hold on Savi... I'll get help as soon as possible..."

Although Jazper believed that the pups weren't old enough to go out Ghita still stubbornly insisted that they would be fine. Being the man in the relationship he had no other choice but to keep quiet and let her do as he pleased or suffer the consequences. His particular worry was on the eldest and youngest of the three, as Lorenzo seemed to be less curious then Fia and far less bold than Tony. The father worried ,almost to the extent of a crazy person would, that by some off chance Ghita was preoccupied with one of the other pups, Tony or Fia would sneak off adventuring. They were much to like their mother for his taste. When he was little he stuck to his mother's side like glue, the rebellious adventurer obviously was a trait Ghita had donated.

Sulking Jazper had once again been forced into an agreement that the pups needed to learn about the territory and thus followed a short distance behind the rest of his family. He didn't walk with them not because he didn't want to but because he felt the urge to circle the area around their walking route. Sniffing constantly and stalking around in his halfling form often urinating on trees as extra insurance that no harm would come to his family. Although if he had walked beside his mate the difference in size and stature would have been enough to scare off any strange wolf or coyote regardless.

Thinking to himself the Knight was slowly beginning to think that perhaps he should just go back to Ghita and help her keep an eye on the pups when he noticed an increase in his mates footsteps. No longer was she a couple dozen meters away but she was rushing off at an alarming pace for a mother with three pups. Without a second thought he followed suit anxious to find out what was happening, he hadn't smelt any threat. As he approached the boarder Savina's scent along with the bears became more distinct. His mates howl was the last sign he needed, his family was in danger. Charging towards the smells he slid to a stop directly in front of the pups and Ghita only to see Savina attacking the bear. A low and violent growl escaped his muzzle as he flashed his teeth at the beast in warning and began to circle her in an attempt to distract her from Savina if only for a moment.

713 words. Prepare for a lot of HNNNNGGGG-ing! Poor Mala. -hugs her-

The creature wasn't all too sure what she had done to deserve such hostility by the black furred female before her. Then again, the last time Mala was on these lands, she had run into a pup who had been friendly to her, and so thought that she might run into her little rambunctious pal again. What she encountered, instead, was a pair of angry eyes and teeth baring at her. Malachi knew she was a loner, even if she was accepted by some others who belonged to a pack. The shaggy creature felt her heart fall in her chest for a moment, with that deep voice in the back of her head telling her that she could never join a pack.. never truly belong anyplace.

That voice was a constant reminder of Malachi's banishment. She almost wished she hadn't been playing with those pups, that day. But hadn't she taught them well? Hadn't she given them warmth when they needed it? And what about the tribe.. hadn't she done well as a hunter for all of them to feast happily? The great creature just didn't understand, and she forcefully shut her eyes when she heard those biting words that would never leave her. 'Get out!'

But as quickly as she shut her honey eyes, they shot open with a wild look in them, as the black female darted for Mala's back leg. A large bellow, almost like a howl, shot through her cream-colored muzzle, feeling the sharp pain of teeth digging past the fat of her back leg and into the powerful muscles. It was indescribable, almost, the daggers that shot through her back leg, and then traveled to her other senses, telling her that she was being attacked. "Hnnnnnngggggg!" Malachi cried, though it was surprising even to her how un-wolf like such a sound was. But it was natural, and it described just how distressed she was at that moment.

Malachi made to turn her body, to try and shake the offender off her leg without wanting to hurt the other. She didn't know who the female was, but she had to have been part of the pack Denali was from. The beast noticed the anger that radiated the black wolf's face when Mala mentioned the pup, but she wasn't all too sure why. Could this have possibly been the alpha female Denali spoke about? His... mother?

Her large head lifted, sand stirring as Malachi moved to shake the wolf off of her form. She noticed another female, with several pups darting around, and Malachi looked on, pleading with her tear-filled eyes. "Heeelp! Please help! Getuapemul!" She yelled at the female, who in turn only called her an oaf, thinking it was she that was attacking the black female, and seemed to shield her pups away from the scene. That action alone only brought more painful memories of her past tribe behind.. after such an incident, everyone hid their pups away from what was once their pupsitter, and former friends averted their eyes and refused to speak to her. "Leave my sister alone!" Malachi's rounded ears heard the mother yell, stirring her away from her thoughts, and Mala gritted her own teeth as the black female stayed latched onto her leg, her teeth only sinking further for good measure.

Several more 'Hnnnnggggg' sounds rang into the chilly air from Mala's throat, but it seemed that trying to release the female by movement was not going to work. The large creature turned again to look at the female that was attacking her, and lifted a large front paw to try and bat her away from her leg. Malachi felt the warm liquid beginning to pool from her wound, and there was a sudden, indescribable anger that bubbled up within her, threatening to burst. Mala almost didn't hear the mother from afar give a warning howl, which made Mala sick to her stomach just then. In no time at all, a larger black wolf entered the scene, and the creature briefly eyed the male who began to circle her. She knew then she was in grave danger, but her immediate concern was to be free of the sharp, painful teeth that not only dug into her skin, but seemingly at her very heart.

Since Katie had to leave, guess we'll just skip Ghita for now? Sad Also gonna have Mala scrape Savi just a little, lemme know if you want it changed! SoSuWriMo 439

Her teeth met their mark as they sank deep into the bear's back leg. The creature bellowed in pain and began to try and shake Savina off, but she only tightened her jaw's grip. Now that she was latched on, it came to her frenzied mind how crucially important it was that she not let get or be thrown off. If she was, the bear would undoubtedly pounce on her while she was recovering and that would be the end of that. The Consul knew that she had acted out of foolish rage and fear and that she had not taken the smartest path, but now that she had chosen that road there was no letting go of the bull she had grabbed the horns of. She needed to wait until the beast tired some before jumping back and trying to drive her out of the lands.

Blood leaked into her mouth to wet her tongue and suddenly all she could smell was the stink of the bear and the acrid scent of the red life liquid. Her forepaws moved to dig her claws into the animal's flesh as well to help keep a hold and cause more pain. If she survived this, and succeeded, this bear would think twice about coming into Crimson Dreams again. Suddenly a voice hit her ears that made the blood in her veins run cold. Ghita, no. Were the pups with her? Oh gods, this wasn't good. The bear tried to speak to her sister which made a fresh wave of anger surge up and she chomped down on the flesh between her teeth even harder. Pay attention to me you beast, leave my sister alone. An urgent howl lanced through the tense air which relieved the secui woman somewhat. Yes, if more of the pack game they could drive the bear out.

Unexpectedly one of those large, dangerous clawed paws came rushing into her peripheral vision and Savina's heart sank. She tried to maneuver her body away, but couldn't quite make it all the way. One of the deadly claws raked the upper part of her leg and she yelped loudly as she released her hold on the beast's leg. Savina jumped back, snarling with her blood-stained maw. Relief flooded her as she saw Jazper trying to distract the bear and she quickly looked at her leg. It was cut, and bleeding some, but it did not appear to be too deep an injury. Quickly she turned her attention back to the intruder, her growl bubbling back up as she moved closer again to the bear's backside while Jazper circled its front.

OOC: Jazper's all "Oh no you didn't :O" XD

In all honesty Jazper had never been so close to a living bear. He had once found a dead bear and made a winter cloak out of its chocolate brown fur, but that was as far as his interaction could go. All he knew of bears came from books he had read. They were large and dangerous, willing to charge and kill you if you got o close. His mind searched for answers as he circled the beast. Why did it attack Savina? Why hadn't Savina called for help instead of Ghita? Where was everyone else? With only two wolves fighting it would be rather difficult to take down a full grown bear.

The only peace of mind that lasted in the warriors mind was his own size. Although the bear obviously contained more mass Jazper still stood as high as her shoulders, giving him the reassurance that he could help Savina, Ghita, and the pups to safety. Letting a growl grow in his chest he began to pace, glancing from Ghita to Savina then back at the bear. This certainly wasn't a situation he had woken up hoping for. In fact, he had warned Ghita about taking the pups out so early in their life. They would have plenty of time to run around in the spring but it was to dangerous for their little fragile bodies.

With a growl still rumbling in his ebony chest Jazper slowly moved backwards, lowering himself closer to the ground in a stalking position. He could see blood dripping from Savina's mouth, a positive sign that they could drive the beast away but the sudden high pitched yelp caused all of his attention to jump away from the bear and towards Savina. Searching for a wound it took him seconds to realize that the bear had managed to cut his alpha's leg. As she jumped up and snarled the brute of a wolf moved forwards once again. This time letting out a snarl of his own matching his leaders ferocity. He wouldn't let anyone, not even a bear, hurt his family. Anger grew in the male, this was his home, where he raised his pups, and where his nieces and nephews had grown and there was no way he would let a stupid old bear hurt his family. Letting another snarl escape his muzzle the warrior flashed his sharp teeth as he dashed towards the bear and leaped, aiming for her neck.

780 words. Poor Mala is all "Omg are you hurt?!" and then "Owwww why! ;__;" .. XD. Hope you don't mind the slight pp Jaz, since you told me you wanted this to happen :3. I'll change it if need be.
Maybe one more round of Sav and Jaz before Pixie and/or Denali step in? What do y'all think?

The anger that surged through Mala when her large paw swiped at the black female suddenly vanished for a moment, not realizing she actually made contact. But her back leg hurt, and she felt it throbbing and wet with blood, that she was willing to do anything to make it stop. This was not what she had expected at all, for the black female to get hurt, despite she attacking the big creature in the first place. Hell, it wasn't an intention at all to be attacked on the beach as the sun went down, as sand stirred in every direction, coated with bear and wolf blood. All of Malachi's life was peaceful, more or less, and she hadn't come to hurt anyone, but the half shifted wolves thought otherwise.

When the shaggy female turned around to look at the female, her honey hue eyes widened. "Oh no.. a-are you hu-- HNNNNGGGGG!" But her words were cut short, and the pain returned to Malachi's body, but now it was aimed at her neck and chest. While her attention was on the black female, the larger black male in front of her had leaped towards her sturdy front side, sinking teeth into whatever flesh they could get a hold of. Cream muzzle bellowed into the skies, sure enough for all of the nearby pack to hear, and yet all the tremendous female could think of were the pups and the mother that stood on watching. It hurt the grizzled pup-sitter to see what kind of wolf she wasn't - a dangerous one.

A fresh surge of anger swept through Mala's great big body, one she couldn't understand nor control. It seemed like she was going on instinct, now, rather than trying to control this primal urge to fight back. Malachi had always been told that conflicts were resolved with words and kindness, never violence. Hot tears began to pool into her eyes, which seemed far too small for her head, feeling as if she was betraying her own culture ... no, her own family, for this driving wave of rage.

"Ple--Hnnnngggggg!" She tried to plead, but nothing but a gurgle of spit and blood bubbled in her throat. She pulled her body back, dragging the large black male with her, trying to shake him off. It wasn't working, though, as more bellows and cries came from Mala's very core. Shutting her eyes, as if she did not want to see what her instinct was about to do, her large front paw came to swipe at the male's chest, which was the only thing exposed to her at the moment. The large wolf let go, unwillingly, but Mala felt a tear at the base of her shaggy throat, and felt fresh blood trickle down the front half of her body.

And she knew that she hurt the male before her, but how bad she didn't know. Mala willed her eyes open again, but felt her entire body shaking with anger, forgiveness, and weakness. Her massive body was soon one with the sand, as it clung to her when the large female was brought down on her knees. She wanted to get up, and leave, yet in Mala's heart she forgave the wolves that attacked her, and were possibly still attacking her. The creature didn't know, nor did she care, as she pressed her rounded ears back against her head. She forgave them, for she was a loner on their lands, and should have known better than to come waltzing in. Blood pooled out of her gigantic form, from who knows where anymore. Her back leg throbbed, and her chest and throat did too, the red slowly seeping into her coat and onto the sand at the beach.

Malachi lay there, wishing she could speak, wishing she could say anything to make the violence stop. All that came was a cough, which produced blood on her lips, and several more grunts and 'Hnnnnnggg'ing. Once did she try to get up, but her wobbly legs refused, and she came crashing back down with a tremendous THUD!. Her breathing was ragged, and for a moment Malachi felt as if a weight was lifted off of her, physically, feeling as light as air. All she heard were the calm waves of the ocean, and Mala felt herself surrounded by warm, soft light. Pinks and oranges dotted the landscape, shining a peaceful array of colors on the gruesome scene. Malachi lay there, breathing in spurts, muzzle half open. Honey eyes watched the wolves before her, wondering what they would do know. A single word emerged from her mouth, one she knew they would not understand. "Mesgei'."

Poor Mala ;~; And that sounds good to me! Sorry if this kinda sucks : /SoSuWriMo 546

The slash across her leg ached, but there was no time to worry about that now. Even if it hurt she could still put weight on it and this fight was far from over. The bear turned to look at her and seemed to start to talk again, but Savina only bristled and growled even loader. She expected the bear had turned towards her to come attack her head on and even if that were a frightening prospect the Consul was not going to back down. Soon the beast bellowed out in pain again and Savina saw Jazper's hulking form attacking the bear's neck. The large creature backed up and began to thrash about and the Dreamer had to back up herself to avoid getting hit by the bear's attempts to throw Jazper off.

She wasn't sure what to do at this point. Even though the Centurio was attacking a vital region of the bear, he was in grave danger. Should she try to harry the bear's backside to distract it? Quickly that idea was dismissed though. This fight was all about instincts and the bear would not be concerned about an attack anywhere else when it's neck was being bitten at. Instead, the Marino repositioned herself in front of her sister and her three little pups, intending to make sure that the bear would not come anywhere near them. Part of her wanted to tell Ghita to take the kids and get out of here, but she knew that her sister wouldn't listen, not while she and Jazper were fighting this colossal beast.

Then horror struck at the alphess' chest as she saw one of those large, clawed paws rip Jazper away from its body. Emerald eyes widened in fear and her heart ceased to beat for a second. "JAZPER!" she yelled, coming to her senses. With a snarl she leaped forward again, this time coming between her fallen friend and the bear. Her tail curled high over her back while all the dark fur on her body bristled with rage. The look on her face would have struck fear into the bravest hearts and she was ready for an attack. It didn't come though. Instead the bear fell to the sand. Her legs stood stock still in place, her menacing pose maintained, but her mind was racing. Had they really defeated it? Had Jazper really done that much damage before he had been hurt? When the creature tried to rise again Savina growled and her body tensed, but the beast's legs would not support it and it fell again.

The bear's breathing was labored, and it seemed to becoming less and less alert as it laid upon the sandy beach. It didn't seem that it could get back up again, but it was not dead yet either. Once again she felt at a loss. They couldn't leave it here, it still posed a threat, but she knew better than to approach it alone again. One thing was for sure, and that was Jazper needed help. Briefly she glanced back at the fallen Knight male and then quickly sent a short, emergent howl into the air, once again calling for the pack. They needed to eliminate this threat to their home, one way or another.

OOC: Jazper's just going to be knocked out for awhile XD He MIGHT come back at the end. XD Sorry about the wait on this!

As he launched himself at the bear's throat his mind screamed against the act. Instinct told him that he should have circled around back and helped Savina more indirectly but he couldn't wait a moment longer. Landing against the beast's chest the warrior clung for dear life. Digging his claws into the bear he tore into it's flesh with his front fangs. Shaking his head back and forth he tried to rip the flesh away. Suddenly the bear let out another cry and began to shake him wildly back and forth. Closing his eyes he dug his teeth deeper, if he was going down so was she.

As it stood up Jazper could feel his rear paws lift from the ground and he scrambled to dig his back claws into her body but could only scratch the surface of the skin. More and more cries escaped from the bear, giving the Knight confidence. Snarling he pulled at the thick fur tearing his way closer to piercing her neck. Finally he reached the skin and grabbed hold with his toothy muzzle just as a massive paw hit him causing him to go flying away from the beast with a high pitched yelp.

The giant wolf hit the trunk of a nearby tree and fell limp to the ground hearing a cry from Ghita and Savina. His head spun and the smell of blood filled his nose but who's blood he didn't know. Had he done it? Had he killed the bear? Lifting his eyelids seemed to take all of his energy and squinting yellow orbs spotted Ghita pushing the pups back towards the mansion with quick reassurance that they would be okay. It wasn't long before his mates scent mixed with the blood and quiet whimpered made their way out of his weak and torn body. Four bloody thick slashes lined his body from his right shoulder down to his left hip causing a pool of crimson to line the ground around him.

The earth moved as the beast fell to the ground and the Knight had a small sense of pride knowing that the bear wouldn't be able to attack Savina any longer. Letting out a slow whine he prayed to any god above that he would make it through this. The pain was overwhelming but all he could think about was making sure his pups got back tot he mansion and that the bear didn't get back up. Finally the thoughts stopped as darkness over came him.

+3 OOC: Oh noooessss

Denali had been inside finding comfort in the warmth of the fire, he’d been napping by it for some time, but seemed to be woken by something… whatever it was he couldn’t remember. He lifted himself off the floor, feeling stiff.. man he wished it would warm up already. Denali figured what could hurt him for a small excursion… he hated going outside but it was about time he got out, it had been so long since he had been outside. For some reason that he couldn’t explain he was moving further from the mansion and the cold didn’t seem to bother him at that moment. In fact he thought he could head to the border and back without getting a sniffle. Denali grinned and took on his own challenge. Something seemed to catch his attention before he got to the borders though… in fact… more like many someone’s he heard snarling, roaring, and some other noises he couldn’t explain. Denali had to investigate.

When he came to the scene … he was confused… there his mother was circling a big brown something, someone… was that Jazper?... whoever it was they were laying against the tree. Denali looked at the thing that Savina was circling and recognition came to him! It was Malachi and she was covered in blood. His heart picked up pace. What on earth was going on!

STOP NO don’t hurt her!

Denali yelled running up to them as fast as he puppy paws could take him. He stood next to the bear.

Mom what are you doing? She’s my friend! Stop!!!

Denali said, but it seemed too late damage to the three had already happened. Savina seemed to be the least injured and Denali couldn’t tell who was more so… Malachi or Jazper, and he cared for both, one was family the other was a good friend of his. Did she trespass? But Denali had said that she could come any time… this was all his fault, he had forgotten to tell his mom and now things had gotten bad… very bad.

Yikes…poor Malachi. And Jazper and Savina and Denali and Ghita and the pups, for that matter. Word Count: 803

Magic could hear the sounds of the skirmish first. The stallion’s primitive instinct sent him into panic as soon as the roars of the bear hit his ears. His head raised high and his eyes wide in fear, he immediately tried to flee and found that he could not, for his lower front legs were tied together with rope to prevent him from wandering off too far while Pixie hunted in the undergrowth nearby in her Secui form. Having been tied like this before, he knew he had the inability to run away, and so instead whinnied loudly as he moved his back hooves in a sort of dance of anxiety.

“What’s wrong, Maj?” Pixie’s red-maned head popped out from behind one of the abandoned tanks that were scattered among the hollow. Her horse normally didn’t act like this unless something seriously spooked him, and anything that would most likely set a horse off in the woods—a falling leaf or a mouse running past—wouldn’t put him into this sort of panic. But then the cry of the bear, as well as those from the wolves fighting it, reached the blue-gray fae’s ears as well. “Sounds like trouble.” Quickly as she could, she shifted back into Optime form and hurried over to Magic. He wasn’t as frightened now as he had been when the bear’s roar first filled the air, but he was still clearly on edge, making Pixie hesitant to cut the rope that stopped him from taking off to who knows where.

“Shhhhh, it’s alright,” she told him quietly, trying to hide her own anxiousness from her voice. Placing one hand on the stallion’s side, she began to softly hum to him, trying to ignore his wild eyes that continued to quickly glance in all directions. Still humming and keeping one hand on him, she crouched down and used her free hand to untie the knot that held his legs together. She could feel him relax under her touch, and by the time he was free, he was still wary, but didn’t flee. Before riding to where the commotion was coming from, Pixie reached into her satchel strapped onto her horse’s back and pulled out the knife that she hadn’t seen, let alone used, for months. Closing her hand tightly around the handle, she groaned when she remembered that she had promised herself she would trade the knife away once she reached a new pack to live in and never see it again. Hopefully she wouldn’t have to use it today.

Horse and rider sped southwards as Savina’s howl echoed through the pack lands. Pixie willed her mount onward, knowing that if she showed any sign of hesitation, he would turn around and take off in the opposite direction. It seemed clear at this point that there was a bear and it was causing trouble, but how much trouble couldn’t be determined just from the call for help. For all she knew, someone could be dead. But she tried not to think about it; it was difficult to think of to begin with. She had only been with Crimson Dreams for two months, one of the most peaceful packs she had ever come in contact with, and already there was a bear on the territory? It was hard to imagine even in the craziest of dreams.

The sight before her was even crazier; it made her halt Magic to a stop so hard that, what with all the other insanity going on, made him rear up with a whinny. She gripped onto his neck tightly, and when he lowered himself once again she could only stare. There was what appeared to be a dead bear and a dead…Jazper. And Savina was there, too, injured, and Ghita and the pups were heading away and Denali was running towards his mother, saying the bear was his friend…

She slid off Magic and, still in somewhat of a daze, sprinted after Denali, not caring if her horse ran off and not even caring that there was snow on the ground. In her hast, the knife fell out of her hands and onto the ground, a gleam of silver in the white snow. “Savina, what the hell happened?” she asked, gasping as her heart beat fast in her chest. “Jazper…is he…you know…” She couldn’t even bring herself to say the damn word. “We need…we need to get you some help. I’ll get Cambria, or…or someone…” She didn’t know enough about healing to fix injuries on the scale that her leader had, much less that of the wounds of Jazper or this bear, whom Denali seemed to be particularly concerned with. Pixie wasn’t sure why, but she figured that the best way to deal with this situation was to take one problem at a time.

first post with new character :3 let's see how this goes. xD the mood shouldn't be too hard to recreate now that my fiance is off at Basic Training for National Guard.

Word Count: 982

A sneer played across the mother's face- keeping her pups close to her as she watched the fight from afar. She so desperately wanted, needed, to help her sister and her mate- but Ghita wasn't willing to leave her pups unattended. Fia had already tried to approach the scene once- there was no question in her mind that she would undoubtedly try again, more than likely with her brothers in tow. With much hesitance, she started backing away towards the forest she had sprinted from- using her paws to herd the squirming pups with her as they tried to fight to stay and watch. Her eyes remained glued to the form of her sister, aquamarines narrowing as she witnessed the other Marino fighting to stay attached to the bear's leg. They instantly widened as they watched the mass of fur move, whipping around and lifting it's paw. "SAVINA! GET AWAY!" she shouted out, letting her paws plant themselves into the sand as her muscles coiled- ready to send herself into the fight.

She froze, watching as Jazper had beaten her to the action. His form was like a blur through the air before it clashed into the bear's chest, his jaws latching onto it's throat. Her thoughts instantly turned back to her pups as they instantly started yipping quietly amongst themselves, their wide eyes glued to their father and the havoc he was creating. Ghita started to herd them back towards the forest, trying to get them away from there before they tried to go on and try to be as 'brave' as their father by charging the best as well. "Come- you can't stay here." she spoke firmly to her children, giving them each a nudge with her nose further towards safety. They seemed to oblige, though grudgingly, and started making their way towards the trees. Ghita cast another look over her shoulder, watching the battle as she fought her body's need to rush in and help rid the pack lands of the threat. What she saw next, she was unprepared for. Her heart sank as she watched the bear lift it's massive paw yet again, her eyes widening as she couldn't find the will to move, or to even so much as speak. She watched as claws connected with flesh, sending her mate flying back and into a tree. She watched him, her body paralyzed with shock as she just... watched- her eyes wide and jaw hanging slack. Only after her sister screamed out for Jazper did she find herself able to react. It wasn't going to be very pretty Her fur was already starting to flare up, the fae whipping around and quickly shoving her pups a good few yards into the woods so they wouldn't have a chance to witness what had kept their mother waiting. "Stay here- everything will be fine. Just- Don't. Move." she spoke to them, her voice laced with a poisonous tone as she whipped back around, sprinting towards jazper and her sister with her fur fully fluffed up and her fangs bared, keeping her snarl trapped in her chest until she got to her sisters side. Her paws planted themselves deep into the cold snow capped sand, her claws digging in deeper as she let her snarl out- her chest reverberating the sound and making the fur on her lower neck shake and quiver as the terrifying noise made it's way down the shore-line.

As the bear collapsed, she still kept her stance. It was taking all of her will-power to not just leap onto that bear and finish it off slowly for what it had done to her sister and Jazper, but she wasn't going to risk the same thing happening to her and traumatizing her sister with two of her pack being harmed by a bear. The last encounter with a bear resulted in their mother's death- though Savina had been the only one still with their birth-pack when it had happened. The bear started to rise again, the female only peeling her lips back farther before a voice drifted to her ears from near the forest. As the bear dropped a second time, ghita let her eyes drift over to the source. It hadn't been of her own pups- and she let the sight of Denali become her focus as he came running in, yelling for them to stop hurting the bear. "Denali! Keep away from it!" She called out, letting out a slight huff as he instead went to stand right next to it, saying it was his friend. She turned back towards jazper, making her way quickly over to him and inspecting his wound, letting out a soft whine. "Jazper, why'd you have to go and do that?" she asked under her breath, giving his larger cranium a nudge as her worry came over her features. He was still breathing, but his wounds were bad. She could hear the galloping of a horse, and instantly left jazper to get to her pups. They had decided to listen to their mother and hadn't moved from the spot. That was a relief. She didn't want them to start wandering around and spooking a horse- especially with how small they were. She watched as, further down the shoreline, Pixie came into view. She didn't want to hear of Jazper's prognosis- especially not in front of the pups. She picked up Fia with her jaws, using her paws to start nudging Tony and Lorenzo into motion. They didn't need to see their father like that- and so she was on her way back to the mansion, travelling in a swift jog that the two rambunctious boys would have to run a bit to keep up with.
