WC: 310 OOC: Smile

Liliana had much to think about, nothing bad, but it was still something she needed to think about. Everything in her life was falling into place, it was like a dream to her. Her only escape was to take a nice ride away from the pack, though she thought nothing of it, she just wanted to think After feeding the animals what they needed and making sure they had fresh water she went out on Grace, who seemed as anxious as Liliana was herself. Though she didn’t know where she was going at first, it became quite obvious. She was headed to Dahlia Da mai, and it was in hopes to visit her friend Naryu. Wondering for the second time if she was going to be distracted again. Grace seemed so happy to be out and about again. She rode for hours stopping for the night inside of the ethereal eclipse. Thinking about what Nayati had asked her the day before, weighing the pros and the cons. She could not think of any cons to this, and that made her happy as she stared at the small fire she had made for herself. She rested near the fire, though she didn’t need to keep warm, it just made her feel welcome.

She found herself nearing the borders of Dalia in the late morning, fully refreshed. She’d done the thinking she needed at her own campfire, feeling refreshed in both her thoughts as well as her body, she found herself to be the happiest wolf in the whole of Canada. Jumping off her horse, she howled for Naryu to meet her. Grace neighed at the howl, not for the fact that she was scared, but she wanted to help or she wanted Liliana to be quiet, which ever she didn’t know at all. Now all she had to do was wait.

matched my table to yours XD Post dated to the 4th (Nayru should have her new rank by now, pfft). SSWM: 450

Nayru was a whole year old. The earth had orbited around the sun yet again and Nayru had entered into existence during this time and stayed in existence. How many souls were born but did not live to see their first year cycle Nayru couldn't guess, but she had, and she felt blessed. Nayru also had acquired a new rank. Jager futhrer. Slowly she was climbing up, but she scarcely knew that. Nayru thought of the hierarchy in a very simple way. Conor, everyone else and then there was her. The only time she thought of herself as having authority over anyone else was if they were outside of Dahlia de Mai's borders and she was within them, even then the fae should everyone nothing but respect. Still, she knew that with higher ranks came more responsibilities, more rights. And it seemed that every time she gained a rank she simply added to her jobs, rather than switched them. Although she hunted, and had always hunted for the whole pack, she continued to scout the borders, even if the wahrer rank was no longer her's. Still she practiced her skills as a warrior, defending Dahlia de Mai was also a priority. She would protect them, feed them, love them and whatever else was required of her.

It was on one of her scouting missions that the call from Liliana came and Nayru recognized the voice right away. How long had it been since she had visited the woman in Aniwaya? Quite some time. She had not been a child any longer, but still had not been quite the adult she was now. Well, then they had some catching up to do, and Nayru was eager to see how her friend had fared in the time they had spent apart. Her strides were long and her gait quick and quickly she spotted the woman and the horse in the distance. Nayru then thought of Niro, who had also come on horse back and Nayru could see the benefit in the hoofed beasts now. Optime was her favorite form, but it was the slowest. Horses solved that, and perhaps went even faster than one would as a secui.

Coming up towards the woman Nayru did not bother to hide the smile that spread from her face. Raising a hand when she knew Liliana could see her the girl's soft voice picked up as much volume to call out to her friend. “Greetings Liliana!” She hurried to her side, her speed and breath slowing, her voice dropping to its natural pitch of just above a whisper. “Hey,” and to the horse, which she laid a gentle paw upon, “hello Grace. How are you two?”

WC: 304 OOC: Oh fun oh fun!

Liliana’s first thought when she saw Naryu was ’She’s grown!’Though she doubted the young woman wanted to hear that. She just smiled as the young woman walked up to her. Liliana’s smile matched that of Naryu, two different packs yet friends all the same Liliana loved it, though they rarely got to see each other. It was almost better that way because then they would have something to talk about when they did finally meet up together.

It is good to see you. I’ve been trying to make it to see you, but I’ve gotten distracted so many times.

She said, beeming at Naryu, laughing at herself for it was entirely ture, one person or another had come to meet her when she was in the process of visiting the girl and never really got the chance to see her until now.

We’ve been great, in fact I’m to be mated soon.

She said, she couldn’t hold it in too much longer, she knew that Naryu did not know Nayati, but she had to tell someone, she wanted to shout it to the world. Her tail was wagging vigerously. Excited at the fact in a few days time it would all happen.

How have you been? It looks like you keep yourself busy enough!

She said. Grace said her own hello’s by shaking her head and giving a slight nicker to the girl. Grace had taking an unusual liking to the girl when they first met, though Liliana was in no way jealous, she was in fact surprised, and happy for it. Most wolves made Grace uneasy for a while, when they first met Grace had been indifferent. Now she seemed happy in her own horse way though, she started picking at the grass in no time, ignoring the two as they talked.

Nayru nodded and smiled as Liliana explained she had meant to come out to see Nayru. Nayru felt a bit guilty, as traveling outside of Dahlia de Mai for any reason hadn't occurred to her much lately. She had only ventured out to retrieve Saluce, and that had hardly been for her own enjoyment. The girl realized how much time had elapsed since she last saw Liliana only when Liliana's words made her stop to think of their last meeting. She had been younger then, and younger still the first time they had met and Nayru wondered how much she had changed. The Aniwaya female seemed not changed at all, and even Grace was exactly how she remembered the gentle creature, but they hadn't been almost still children then. They had been fully formed, molded, and now Nayru was among their ranks, fully an adult.

Ears perked at the news Liliana delivered, and Nayru smiled at her friend, mirroring the joy she saw on the woman's face. Mated? Nayru still could not fully comprehend all the feelings that others seemed to express in the presence of their mates. To be so fully absorbed in another seemed odd to her, to be so emotional over the moods and actions of another seem strange. She had never felt so passionately about anyone, never so bonded, and couldn't imagine herself doing so. Gideon was the closest thing she had, a best friend, her closest companion. Nayru knew that he made her happy to be around, and that idea of him hurting was unbearable, but she didn't ache when he wasn't near to her. His presence was comfortable, familiar. Yet something was different about Gideon the past few times they had met. Lately, he had been acting just a little strange. Looking at her differently, treating her differently. She fingered the necklace he had given her, and an anxious but pleasant feeling formed in her stomach. That feeling was foreign, and she wondered where it stemmed from.

“That's wonderful Liliana! Tell me about him?” Really she had never asked anyone about why they wished to be mated to another, about love. Saluce had loved Layla but the man did not speak about her any longer and Layla had seemed sad at the Hibernal feast, which Saluce had been absent from. Conor and Bris seemed to care for one another, they had a child together, and it seemed natural but Nayru had never properly analyzed that relationship, didn't know how Conor felt, how Bris felt. It wasn't her place. Rarely did she question others on their personal matters, only when they shared them openly as Liliana confided in Nayru did she ask any question. Only when she thought it would be helpful to get answers did she ask questions. There had never been a reason to ask anyone about mating or love or any of that, it wasn't part of Nayru's life. Lately though, she wondered. What was she missing out on?

The girl was eager to ask about Nayru's life, and Nayru smiled, trying to think of any exciting news she could tell Liliana. It truly had been a while since she had seen Liliana and while Nayru had done a lot, she felt very little had changed. “I have only been here, protecting the borders, hunting… serving Dahlia.” She shrugged, realizing how little of her time she spent on her own life, on her own emotions. Was that normal? She wasn't sure, but it seemed natural to her. Then she laughed, her crimson eyes shining at Liliana, remembering how much time she had spent fixing up her home, finding plants to bring in for the winter. That had all been for her, but it had been while ago she nearly forgot. “I made a greenhouse my home. Would you like to see it?”

WC:379 OOC:I think she had loots of sugar before meeting her lol Wink

Naryu seemed to be so happy with Liliana’s announcement, and Liliana could barely contain herself, even though she needed thinking, she knew that she was ready, ready to be with him, to start their life together as a pair.

He’s rather handsome, very traditional too. He is funny though, and is… I don’t know, he has been the most caring wolf I’ve met, besides Dawali… but he’s more of a father figure… but Nayati, he is just everything I’d hoped for and more. It just don’t know how to explain it, it’s like, I look at him and I already can see our children…

She stopped for a pause, knowing that she was getting carried away, to think such things, was ok, but to speak of them bordered on being impolite in some way, like she’s spilling her soul to the young female in front of her.

I mean, I didn’t know it at first. But it was like a sickness, it seemed to swell up inside me… it’s ust this …. Amazing feeling. Like a high you can never get rid of.

She said, she wasn’t sure if Naryu had actually taken any drugs, Liliana had, a few times, though on rare occasions. She wasn’t against such things, in fact, she wanted to plant the sees that were given to her by Lolita, though she didn’t know how to grow such a thing. She listened to Naryu, she was protecting the borders, that was something, Naryu seemed to be growing in more than body but spirit as well. Upon mentioning her home, Liliana perked up, her ears went as far as they could go, a greenhouse? What was that? This definitely perked the wolf-dog’s attention.

I would love to see it, I don’t know what a greenhouse is!

She stated, knowing that it would be obvious what it was when she saw it, but in all her excitement the words just came from her mouth. It was so good to see Naryu again, to speak to a friend, and one that was a female too. She had friends, though Liliana thought that Naryu was the closest friend she had, even though Naryu was a bit younger. She knew she could confide in the young woman and vice versa.

Nayru let the words of Liliana soak in, turning them over and trying to imagine the man that would become her friend's mate. Perhaps one day she would meet Nayati, be able to compare the image she came up with to the real man. Whoever he was, surely he was a good soul for Nayru trusted the judgment of Liliana. The woman only had kind things to say about her future mate and Nayru then tried to compare the traits Liliana listed to those Nayru knew. Gideon, Saluce, Aro, Conor. Were any of them handsome? Nayru had never considered it, but she suppose none of them were bad looking. No one she knew was bad looking… Nayru had never judged another based on their physical appearance before, never thought of her own. Was she beautiful? Did it matter? Nayru did not care if she was or not, did not care if those she had in her life were or not. That had never mattered before and it didn't matter now, she let the thought go and went on to the other traits. None of the people she thought of were traditional, but all were kind and caring, and none were particularly funny. Fun, Aro and Gideon were both fun, but in different ways. Yet no matter how many times she went over them she did not think she felt for any of them the way Liliana felt for Nayati. Perhaps she would only understand when it finally happened to her.

“He sounds wonderful Liliana, I'm really glad you've found someone to share your life with.” And have children and make a home. Nayru did not think she needed someone to have children with, she had Range and Melee in her life and they were enough. And she had a home, by herself, but it was her's and she loved it. And the girl was pleased when Liliana expressed interest in seeing the greenhouse, explaining that she didn't even know what a green house was. Nayru smiled, remembering when she had showed Liliana the vineyards and the garabage dump. So accusomted to Dahlia de Mai's lands the girl took for granted others did not always know the wonders that the human population had left on this earth. She was eager to share it with her AniWaya visitor. “Alright. I would love to show you, but it's across the packlands, all the way on the eastern border. You don't mind walking do you?”

Of course Liliana could ride Grace, but the idea did not cross Nayru's mind as she turned east, looking over her shoulder to make sure the pair was following her, They would have to move through most of Berwick, part of Wolfville and over all the lands between there and the garden. Liliana would see the woods and the springs and the fields of Dahlia de Mai and Nayru was happy to share more than just the remnants of the human land with the woman. Dahlia de Mai had so much to offer and Nayru never grew tired of wandering her home. “If you'd like to stop and rest or look at something, just say so. I live on the eastern end because no one else does, and I like to keep the borders over there secure. Plus it's a little more secluded and I enjoy the quiet,” Nayru smiled, admitting her solitary life style, All of Dahlia de Mai knew she was a loner, among them but mostly as a shadow. Liliana would only know because Nayru shared this with her friend, but she said it with joy, there was no resentment in her loneliness.

WC:305 OOC:

Liliana was thinking about Nayati as Naryu was turning everthing over, a dreamy look in her eyes. She really was a happy happy wolf. She couldn’t ask for more in a mate, and she was excited for the ceremony, though still quite nervous, which was one of the reasons she’d come out here. She was snapped out of her small daydream when Naryu passed on her words and Lili beamed.

Thank you so much!

She said, and at Naryu’s warning Liliana was still eager to follow, she wanted to learn what this green house thing was. Maybe it was just a green house and that shewas making a big deal out of it for nothing? Naryu started walking and Liliana moved forward, Grace at her side. She felt it rather rude to ride while another walked, it seemed like she would be spitting on her face or something, so she was sure that she would not die if she walked next to her friend. Liliana nodded at her friend taking in the sight. She could understand Naryu’s need for space, the young woman always seemed like the type that didn’t care much for the hustle and bustle.

Quiet is nice, I like solitude myself, I suppose that’s why I’m always with the horses.

For the most part Liliana was alone. Except when Nayati was around, though he loved the attention that he gave her, so he was an exception to the deal. But she knew what Naryu meant and could relate in her own way. Liliana was never one for wanting to be near wolves all the time, and she felt the company of the horses quite soothing, except for one wolf of course. Though she had friends and she enjoyed their company she could still function if they were not around for a while.

Nayru nodded and set off in the direction of her home. The were soon in the heart of Berwick, the decaying houses rising up on either side of them. For a long while Nayru let the silence encompass them, it seemed natural. They had both just admitted they liked solitude and quiet and the trek from one end of Dahlia de Mai to the other was long. They would have enough time to talk. For the moment Nayru let her eyes drift over the old and empty homes of Berwick, and through the few official and business buildings that were left in the town. It was not so crowded or congested as Wolfville, but it was interesting to take in all the same. Liliana had seen only bits of it before, their path from the vineyards to the dump on her first meeting had taken them only along the out skirts of both the human towns and and now they made their way through the dead center. When they came at the other it was trees and fields and soon streams and Nayru was never bored by the quickly changing landscapes of Dahlia de Mai.

Moving along Nayru steered them north a ways, as to avoid the Demon Trail that hugged the southern edge of the borders. Although it would have been fun to show Liliana she didn’t think Grace’s long legs and heavy body would do well on the steep and dangerous slopes. Rather they cut through the springs, and it was here Nayru opened her mouth to speak, hoping her guest was not too bored by their so far silent journey. “It’s strange. Most all of Dahlia de Mai lives west of this point. A few live near to the springs, there are a lot of dens here, but no one lives as far east as I. Most of them make homes in Wolfville or Berwick, or the vineyards. They use old human homes and live in them. I guess I did the same, but with one of the only buildings on the eastern edge.” It only had seemed strange to Nayru lately, who had witnessed these living arrangements from the time she was accepted into Dahlia de Mai. Yet as she considered their roots, their canine instincts, it was weird that so few of them slept in dug out dens, or out under the stars.

They passed through more fields and the wooded areas of Dahlia de Mai. It was in one of the thickly forested parts Nayru slowed down, before coming upon a high stone wall. To the untrained eye the wall seemed completely solid, grown over with vines so thick that even in the dead of winter and lacking their leaves they covered any sight of stone underneath. Yet Nayru knew where she was and with trained hands felt under the vines, found the door handle and pushed open the door to the veiled gardens. “My green house is in here.”

The gardens were covered in frost, but the decorative trees still broke up the landscape. The large oak tree and the swing that hung from it were close to the entrance, and Nayru smiled at the small playground with its merry-go-round and monkey bars. Her crimson eyes turned back to see what Liliana thought of the gardens as the moved quickly and passed the koi pond, and went even further past the tool shed, fallen in and down now. Then the greenhouse was visible to them, rising up in the back of the gardens, the windows that had been repaired by Nayru obviously a different kind of glass than the panes that had withstood years of neglect. Pointing she smiled at her friend, pride swelling in her for the home she had fixed up and all the plants that grew within. Soon Liliana would see them, feel the heat of her home, and Nayru was glad to share it with someone, for so rarely did anyone visit her in the gardens and she wondered how many of the Dahlians even knew she lived here.

The walk was nice and quiet, and Liliana did not need speech to entertain herself as the view was good enough. They passed through so many different terrains it was making Liliana’s head spin. She did stop to look at some things, but her main goal was as far as she knew pretty far away so she only stopped for a short time to take in what she could before following her friend again.

I see why your pack chose this area, and yeah, many like to live in the midst of things while others prefer to be alone.

She had noticed that of her own packmates, though she was like Naryu she was also one that was in the midst of the pack, sleeping in a hut in the village of many. Grace seemed to not care where she was at, as long as Liliana didn’t leave her at all. They stopped at a wall, and Liliana wondered why they did, it was a wall, after all. Her question was answered right away as the young woman felt around for something and soon found it, telling her the greenhouse was behind the wall. Upon entering Liliana couldn’t think of any words for what she saw, it was something she was not use to seeing. An old playground where human children use to play, her face was in a wide grin as she watched everything that they passed by, the pond interested her, though she couldn’t see very well into it, it was just a nice addition… it was like a secret place. She felt so happy that Naryu was sharing this with her. they came up to the greenhouse, and she blinked a few times, not sure what to say, there was something in it too, were those live plants? Liliana looked at Naryu with bright eyes.

I’ve never seen something like it before! It’s amazing, though with all those windows… not much privacy huh?

She joked, considering she had a hidden garden. She wasn’t sure how many knew about it, but it must be nice to live in such a secluded place.

Nayru watched as Liliana took in her surroundings, her eyes lingering over the playground and pond as they moved past them. Nayru tried to remember what it had been like to first discover this garden, Gideon had brought her here in their childhood. It had been exciting and exhilarating and private and peaceful. It had been theirs and theirs alone, and still very few other sets of paw prints were ever found in the snow within the enclosed walls. Yet it wasn’t right to keep it to their selves, not forever. Nayru could claim the greenhouse, but she could not claim the entirety of the garden, it was too big and vast for just one wolf to enjoy. Gideon understood this, surely, and would not be angry that Liliana, not even a Dahlian, saw now what once only their eyes had seen. Sharing it did not take away from all they had shared between the two of them, it only made those memories more precious.

“Very few people come into this garden.” Nayru laughed lightly as she looked into her own home, the vines and leaves of the various plants blocking out some of the view. Yet her home truly was a glass house, visible to anyone who cared to look in. No one ever did. “But I made a smaller room in there, out of some wood I found. An old table and some other pieces. I filled it with hay and sleep in there, no one can see through those walls.” She smiled, thinking back on how long her unskilled hands had taken to create the crude construction. It was big enough for her to lay in in her optime form, but she could only sit up in there. Still it was a safe place to keep her books and other belongings when they were not with her. “Want to go inside?”

Nayru moved to the door of the green house and then turned and smiled sadly at Grace, not really knowing if the horse understood but Liliana spoke to the creature as if she did, so Nayru did the same. “I’m sorry Grace, you’re not going to fit through these doors.” As it was a door built for the human frame the width would not clear the horse’s shape and Nayru went inside, holding the door for her friend. Inside the air was heavy and humid, many degrees warmer than the winter’s air outside. The plants sat on old tables, the floor and hung from the ceiling, growing it seemed without much trimming or training. Almost as if they were wild but potted. In the corner of the greenhouse, mostly designed by more plants the wooden dog house sat there, small but intricate carvings on the outside of it. Nayru smiled at Liliana, her hand sweeping the air and indicating the space inside the greenhouse. “This is my home Liliana, and I am very glad to share it with you now.”

She looked the greenhouse up and down, and wanted to know why it had plants inside? was there a fire in there that kept the place warm so that the leaves didn’t die? Whatever the reason, she would find out soon enough. She nodded at Naryu’s explanaition that was a good idea. She looked over to the horse when Naryu apologized. Grace did not seem to upset she in fact turned around and started nosing at the ground.

I do not think she is too heartbroken.

Liliana giggled as she watched the horse for a second then followed her friend inside. when she was in the first thing that did hit her was the sudden temperature change, she knew it, that’s why the plants were able to live! But she could not see a fire, and she knew there had to be one as big as the great fire to keep this place warm. She looked at all the plants, growing throughout the whole of the building.

Wow it is amazing! You are very lucky. How do you keep it so warm in here?

She asked looking back at Naryu, her ears ready to hear what the young woman had to say. She indeed envied Naryu, though Liliana could easily live outside if she really wanted to. even in the frigid area, to be surrounded by all sorts of plants, that never died, well that would have been something all its own.

Do you know what kind of plants these are? Have they been growing here forever or did you plant them?

Now it was Liliana’s turn to act like a pup she had so many questions! She didn’t want to overdo it, so she started walking looking at each plant, which seemed healthy, Naryu must have planted them, or they wouldn’t have gotten water right? Whatever the case may be she hoped to find out soon.

With pride Nayru watched as Liliana discovered the strangeness of Nayru's living situation. The spotted lady could see the wonder in the other woman's face as she contemplated the living plants, plants that should have been long dead so far into the winter season. A smiled answered Liliana's exclamation of Nayru's luck. Perhaps it had been luck, or chance, that Gideon had discovered this garden and no one else had laid claim to the structures inside, yet much hard work had been put into fixing the glass panes, finding the plants, caring for them daily. It was more than luck, but as in all aspects of life luck had indeed played a key role. Nothing could happen if the opportunity for such events did not present themselves. Nayru was indeed very lucky that she had gotten this opportunity.

“Ah well, it's the glass that keeps it so hot in here.” Nayru looked up at the glass ceiling, noting that the winter's summer wouldn't be out too much longer, but long enough for Liliana to gaze up and understand the concept of Nayru's heat source. Lifting her hands she indicated to the glass above and the sunlight that shone through and fell on the faces of the two friends, “The sun shines in and gets trapped in here. I'm not sure how it works exactly but I had to replace some of the glass. Before it did the cold got in and the heat got out.” Nayru had no trouble admitting her ignorance in why the glass kept the room so warm, but she explained the science the best she could.

Nayru smiled as Liliana spoke about the plants and without explained Nayru moved over to her self-constructed dog house and pulled out the book. Bringing it over to Liliana she flipped it open to a page already read over several times. Pointing at the page and then at a plant she smiled, the picture of the book matching that of the plants Nayru indicated. “This one is hemlock, it's very poisonous.” Nayru handed the book over to Liliana, indicating that several pages had been bookmarked. “I don't know all the plants, but I am learning them. I brought them all in from outside, but some of them have died off because I wasn't sure how to care for them properly. There is a well in the garden I can draw water from and I drowned some plants and dried up others.” Nayru laughed at her own horticultural failure. There were more plants, and it was just a hobby, to lose some hadn't bother Nayru a bit.

Naryu did explain though with Liliana’s limited knowledge, she could only nod and think that was the way nature worked. She showed her where she got her information… a book. Liliana fidgeted for a minute, looking at the pictures, though she could not understand the rest, she nodded.

That is amazing, I have been trying to learn about herbs and plants to heal some of the horses if and when they get sick. Dawali has taught me some, though only a little.

She spoke of killing some plants, all by accident, but it was amazing what one can do by experimenting and learning. And it seemed books were what really helped out a lot, this made Liliana think of Skye and their trade, she would have to go to the woman for reading lessons, she had tried teaching herself but everything about any of the books she looked at were so foreign to her.

you do very well for these, I’m afraid if I tried to grow something by myself the plant would die, though I know how to harvest a field, growing plants like this seems rather hard.

She said looking at the plants, deciding it was best not to touch any expecially when Naryu said ne of them was actually very poisonous, which did make Liliana wonder why she kept them if they were, maybe they weren’t poisonous for something else… she wasn’t sure but she was not going to risk getting hurt, not days before her own mating ceremony.

Liliana spoke and Nayru nodded, knowing that some of the plants she had did have medicinal properties. Nayru didn’t have a clue about how she might utilize them, nor did she care to. The woman was far too busy scouting, hunting, training. It seemed that was all she did and keeping the poor plants alive was actually low on her list of priorities. Perhaps if she could only grow them someone else in the pack would wish to use them, could come gather them and make their existence useful for Dahlia de Mai. That would have been ideal, but as it was so few wolves even knew of her greenhouse, the plants merely kept her company in the late evenings and early mornings when Nayru was up and awake and alone in her home.

“Well, it’s just as hard as anything else. After a while taking care of them just became habit. Sometimes I slack though, when I don’t find enough time. I forget to water them or pull the dead leaves.” Rose colored eyes went from plant to plant, feeling a little sorry for her less than perfect care of them and a little guilty for still admitting it out loud. “They are hardy though, well at least the ones that have made it this far.” Nayru laughed again and snapped the book shut, placing it one of the rickety tables holding up an assortment of potted plants. Perhaps the greatest benefit of the greenhouse, aside from the consistent warmth, was the air. It was always so fresh and clean. Never musty as some of the dank and damp houses of Wolfville or Berwick could be.

“Oh, come! I have something else I want to show you.” Her eyes danced merrily as she moved over to the wooden dog house, built from scraps of tables and whatever else had been lying about when she discovered the greenhouse. The inside was lined with hay and the outside had been sanded smooth. It looked world better than when Nayru had first built it, but as the two woman came upon it Nayru crouched low, running her fingers lightly over the figures she had painstakingly carved into one side of the structure and about the opening. The idea had been born from her memories of the Aniwaya tree and Nayru wondered if Liliana would recognize that.

Yet the idea was not the same, not exactly. The Aniwaya tree had spirit guides and they were burned out when the members passed on. Nayru’s house was covered with faces of wolves, the ones she knew well. Gideon’s had been the first and easiest to carve, she knew the details of his features far better than she knew anyone else’s. The figures of Bris and Conor were close to one another and the most recent carving, much smaller than the others barely resembled little Eclipse at all, but Nayru planned on adding to it as the girl grew and developed. Liliana’s own likeliness was on there too, along with Aro and a strange figure that Nayru believed was Razekiel, though she hadn’t planned on carving the coyote man into her home. Saluce pouted from the further corner and there were others, their faces unrecognizable yet but Nayru knew that soon enough these pictures would have life too. “I’ve been working on these for a while now. They aren’t very good I’m afraid, but they are getting better.”

OOC Stuff

Liliana kept looking around as her friend spoke. Yes there was a bit to do for a garden, she was lucky she didn’t have to do anything but work on the harvest when it came.

This is possibly better than what I could do, I would have no time for this, I barely have time to get out these days with the amount of horses that have been coming in.

She said, though she was in no way complaining. She loved working, but she hoped that her work would let up just a little, or she would get a helper whatever the case, that wasn’t what she should be thinking about now. Her large ears perked up as Naryu told her she had something to show her and she followed her friend to her living spot. She held her breath as she saw the drawings of different wolves, ones she didn’t know but she figured they meant something to Naryu. She even spotted the one that resembled her and her smile grew.

Wow these a re very pretty! I tried to draw my spirit guide on the tree unfortunately, mine didn’t come out right.

She said putting a hand on the carvings feeling very envious of Naryu right now. She deserved it all, though, Liliana thought.

Crimson eyes watched as Liliana recognized her own features carved into the grainy surface of the wood and Nayru smiled back at her friend. Liliana seemed as proud of the carvings as she had been about the assortments of plants Nayru tended to and this pleased Nayru, although she knew that both were not really much of anything. Side projects. Hobbies. They weren't her specialty. There didn't really mean anything or do anything for anyone. And no one aside from Nayru really knew they were here at all. Some others knew of her plants, but she had shown no one else her crude carvings. There had never really been any reason for it. Perhaps one day she would show Gideon, he might have liked to see then, but it was so rare the two of them found free time together anymore.

“It takes a bit of practice. I've gotten better as I've worked on them more and I've hidden some mistakes I made.” Nayru's finger trailed over the carving of Gideon's face, which had been the first and hardest to do. There had been a lot of blunders and mishaps in creating it, and very nearly one she lost her grip on the dagger and nearly sliced her hand. Yet now at first glance it seemed a skilled hand had gone to work at the craft, so careful and meticulous Nayru had been in righting her wrongs. "These aren't perfect though. They never can be." Nayru sighed, almost unhappily, knowing that nothing could ever reach true perfection no matter how hard Nayru strived for it.

Standing up she brushed off the back of her legs, the long fur there collecting dirt from the greenhouse floor whenever she crouched upon it. The whole floor was strewn with dirt and broken bits of pots and large stones and the idea to clean it all never once occurred to Nayru. “Well, this is it. There's very little else to my home.” And she smiled, because it was enough for her. So simple and primitive and yet it was suited Nayru perfectly. "Shall we head back then?"

Liliana nodded as she said practice helped her get better. She looked at the picture of one of the wolve’s she had drawn. She told Liliana that they were not perfect though. Lili could only shrug, she knew nothing could ever be perfect…

What makes it perfect is that it is your own style. I think you did a really wonderful job.

She said noting that the girl had sighed after mentioning not being perfect. Liliana knew her words weren’t much but that was what she stood by. She was by no means the perfect horsemen but she was perfect at her own technique, even if she tweeked it every now and again. The girl stood up and Lili followed suit, taking one last look around the place, this was something she doubted she wanted to forget and then back to her friend.

Yes I think we can. You’ve found a really good place to live. At least it won’t be so easy for you to get cold.

She said smiling at her friend waiting for her to take the lead so Liliana could follow. She was quite happy that she had come today. The woman taught Liliana more than she could know about places like this. It made Lili wonder if there were more. If there was possibly one in AniWaya too, but she laughed in her head knowing she’d nevr have time to fix it up and grow plants. The idea would be helpful for the animals in the winter. Though they would have harvested hay and oats… green food would keep them healthy and happy. Just thinking about it made Liliana excited, but she knew it would be a dream. Upkeep in a place like this was likely to be a two wolf job… and here Naryu was tending to it all herself.

yup yup. you can reply once more if you'd like. SSWM: 687

Liliana's words of praise reached Nayru's ears and practiced in her humility and manners she bowed her head, accepting the compliments with grace. "Thank you." And that was all, because the two of them could go back and forth talking of what qualified for perfection all day. For Nayru it was an obtainable goal, one that might eventually drive her mad trying, and the girl couldn't help but constantly strive for it. To settle for anything less felt like failure. The ebony and ivory coated woman wished to be the perfect huntress, perfect scout, perfect warrior. Perfect pack mate. She knew that it was impossible, but less so if she let a few things go. Nayru did not need to be a perfect herbalist or horticulturist, it was only a hobby and a hobby that the pack could perhaps utilize it was one that she could pass on or share with another and that was okay with her. Nor did she wish to be a perfect artist, although she would always work on bettering her carvings when the opportunities presented itself.

Nayru smiled again as Liliana once more praised her home. The greenhouse had been a lucky find, and she wondered if any of the other pack members would have thought to turn the structure into a home had they run across it first. Yet it seemed that they mostly preferred the western end, so that Nayru kept it to herself did not make her feel selfish. The rest of the garden was still open to them if they only knew how to enter it, and slowly but surely they were learning the secrets or Nayru was showing them. "Alright, let's go then." Slowly she made her way back to the entrance, holding the door open for Liliana and closing it behind them as they once more stood out in the snowy garden, the temperature drop quite notable once they were outside of the warm air of the green house.

Nayru moved up to the horse and patted her gently on the nose. "Sorry to keep you waiting." It no longer seemed strange to speak to Grace so, although she could bring herself to do so with any other non-canine creature. Other animals still seemed just creatures or prey, or just creatures, but Grace was an extension of Liliana. Grace had a personality that Nayru had come to know and the horse was the lone exception in the girl's mind. Moving past the large hoofed beast, Nayru led the way back to the door of the garden. Past the decayed tool shed, the rotten wood frozen with frost. Further they once more passed the koi pond, the carp like fish frozen fast in the water or barely surviving right below the thick layer of ice. And finally they moved past the old playground, until when Nayru turned she could no longer see her green house tucked away in the trees and shrubs planted long ago by some careful and meticulous human gardener.

Pushing open the door and holding it open for her guest, she close it tight once they had cleared the entrance, the opening quickly disguised once more by the thick layer of vines that climbed the tall stone walls. The journey back was just as long as it had been coming and they kept silent for most of it. They skirted Demon's Trail, though came as close as they could so that they wouldn't have to cross the river which was frigid and unpleasant so late in the season. They traveled through Berwick once more until they came out yet again at the vineyards and then to Flander's Field where Nayru had greeted Liliana. Turning to her friend she smiled broadly, and in a rare show of affection she pulled the woman into a quick embrace. "Your visit, as always, was a pleasure. Please do come back Liliana, and I promise when I find time I will make my way out to Aniwaya again. Take care on the ride home." Nayru pulled away and stepped back, lingering there for the parting words of her friend.
