Shayna

Night’s escapade cloak had started to veil over the sky, fighting the sun back over the horizon. Shayna found herself casually laying underneath a chunky oak tree and treating herself to a little whisky in a silent celebration of joining Dahlia De Mai. She glared up into the twilight atmosphere and keenly gazed at the candy floss clouds float high above the landscape, a thousand twinkling stars glimmering reflected in her gold velvet eyes. The urge to try and reach the stars and pull a beautiful petite one down for her to hide away and treasure grew with every swig she knocked back. She had sensed a strong scent of another pack close, but she wasn’t that worried about it as she definitely remembered not crossing any border lines on her journey to here – and knew that beyond the cluster of trees to her right would probably be a new bunch of faces she would meet eventually.

Slovenly she drew her free hand back to push herself up slightly, and heaved herself so that her back rested on the tree bark, slipping the bottle neck nimbly through her fingers. She didn’t like to be alone, is was encased in her mind that she had spent too much time alone as a child, and should make up for it by spending more hours with those who she did care about. There was no denying she had been feeling alot better both physically and physiologically now that Conor was helping her regain her strength – and now held a high amount of respect and friendly love for the man, she thought he was an amazing person and how he didn’t crumble with the amount of pressure of ruler ship was forcing upon him she did not know. She was entirely in his debt and Saluce’s for that matter, without their aid she would not be within the world this night. A solitary sigh escaped the woman’s lips as she raised the sable hued bottle to her mouth once more and gulped down the liquid that had brought her happiness for so many years previously.

Ouija had nothing special to do and was just out and walking around. He was simply just passing time and trying to tire himself out in order to turn in. He was too used to having another body pressed to his own to sleep with but that was no longer possible with the cult gone. He didn't have the warmth to lull him to sleep as he had been used to. Because of that he was looking to exhaust himself. Or that had been the plan until he found some other canine lounging around. He had gotten close to the borders without even realizing it. Not that it really mattered because he was allowed to come and go as he pleased. Still it was strange for him to find someone just laying out against the trees near the border.

"Everything okay?" He asked as he approached. He moved over to kneel down next to the female and glance over at her. He couldn't remember her being a member of the pack but it was entirely possible that he was wrong. After all he didn't know all the members of the pack. He basically only knew the founding members and had seen a few others at a celebration. But he still didn't know their names and had only glanced at their faces. For all he knew this could have been one of the ones that were dancing about on that night since he hadn't been paying close attention at the time.

He settled down so that he could rest his back against the same tree that the female had hers against. He didn't even pay attention enough to notice just how close he was. That the slightest movement could have him possibly rubbing up against the other canine. "Feel like sharing?" He asked as he glanced over. It was uncertain if he was talking about the bottle or about what was on her mind. Either would work for him actually. He had the time to kill and certainly didn't mind such lovely company to kill it with.

She sat in solitude for a few more moments without the muse for words to escape her, before a Technicolor canine appeared out of the corner of her eye. The woman didn’t pay much attention though, as she knew that whoever it was would head her way soon. A light sprinkling of snow drifted from above the earth as this unknown person approached. Assuming that it was a male from her neighbouring pack, due to his masculine form and appearance her face lifted slightly with a tweak of desire, a cheeky smile prying up her delicately fragile maw. It wasn’t until the male sat down very close beside her and she felt his warmth that she realised how much she missed the physical contact and socialising that she had been received in the past. She didn’t mind how close he was to her; in fact she turned her head towards his and offered him a beautiful smile, with a brush away of her crimson hair she uncovered dazzling gold velvet eyes and lifted her voice to his first question.

”Much better now that I have some company” with a small arm movement she offered her bottle of whiskey for the second query shortly after, and inclined herself to rest her head against his shoulder, feeling his warmth against her ivory cheek bone she realised how cold she had been, almost like a ice queen, a frozen statue not inclined to share or receive heat, oh how she missed that contact. ”So tell me mysterious man, may I know your name?” Eyes gazed out to the increasing strength of snowfall, it was far too late to start heading back now, and besides why not give poor Conor a break from constant nursing – the poor man would burst under the pressure of governing a pack at such a what she saw young age one of these days. She would stay here and live out the rest of the evening with this charming young man, well he seemed friendly enough and she desired to sleep out under the stars for a change and brace the environment she was so used too before she had fallen. Curiously her eyes reached up to his with a slight turn of head and awaited his reaction.

He wasn't certain if it was the drink or if she was always inclined to behaving familiarly with those that she had just met. Either way he didn't exactly mind too much. He was used to having physical contact and so as she laid her head against his chest he simply wrapped one of his arms around her waist in order to try and hold her close. He was willing enough to share his warmth. He did have a thick coat that was perfect for the winter. Sometimes he felt that it worked a little too well. So of course he didn't mind holding her cooler body up close to his warmer one. After all he had stepped outside and away from his work because it had gotten too warm near the fire. The snow was a welcome reprieve for him. And to have company to share the night with simply made it better.

He smiled and accepted the bottle as it was handed it over. He ended up bringing it up to his lips and sipping from it, taking a great swig before handing it back. "Not too bad. What is it called?" He asked curiously. He wasn't one to give into spirits too often. But he had been without any sort of intoxicant for too long that he was willing to take anything. It was the only way that he could forget about his responsibilities. And well, everyone had to indulge now and again. He had gone a pretty long time without giving into substantial influences. Because of that he couldn't be said to be an addict. Still, the chances that he got to indulge he perhaps overdid it a bit at times. But that could be said to be making up for how long he went without before and how much longer he would go without after it was all over with. After all what would one night of overindulgence hurt? Not a thing most certainly.

He chuckled and allow his eyes to slip shut as he made to relax. "The name is Ouija. How about yourself?" He drew in a deep breath of the crisp night air before he tilted his head to the side and opened his eyes in order to look down at the female as he had felt her shift. He offered down a warm and gentle smile. "You don't smell like Cercatori D'Arte so where are you from?" He brought up his other arm, the one opposite the one that he had wrapped around the female... or at least had tried to wrap around her should she had allowed for it or not, and placed it behind his head to act as some sort of pillow or cushion for his head against the rough tree bark. "What brings you all the way out this way at this time of night? Looking for someone special perhaps?" After all if she was actively seeking a certain person, or had been waiting for them to arrive, he could get up and go seek them out to allow them to know that they had company. "If you will allow me to know who you are here to see then I can try to find them for you. It really is too cold out for you to be sitting out here all alone and waiting on them." It really was the least that he could offer. And if she wasn't looking for any certain one canine then he could be her company. He certainly didn't mind that. He spent many hours alone just working that he could use the break and company himself.

He turned his head to peer out into the night to watch the snow fall. "Quite beautiful out, isn't it?" It wasn't often that he had just sat still and really looked at the scenery. Actually he couldn't remember a time that he had ever cuddled up to someone and just watched the snow fall. It was so quiet and peaceful out. He sighed softly, allowing a slow breath to pass out between his lips. He chuckled at the plumes that his breath had made as it showed itself in the cold air. It was such a simple thing and yet it caused great joy, enough for him to try it again. Of course now he was just being silly as he tried to make the breath come out in a ring but failed. It was an amusing attempt though. Enough to cause a genuine smile to slip onto his lips as he enjoyed himself greatly. It was a simple joy but it was enough for now.
