ooc;; freaking amazing table by sie! <33 14.01.11 close to oberons spring.

Today was the day he was going to build his house. He had been thinking about it for weeks and the idea of becoming independent and living on his own was something that wasnt going away. His recent double promotion had proven to swell the young mans head for a few days and until the novelty had worn of Saul Stormbringer had walked around Dahlia with a large smile on his face. He had jumped for Lehrling to Spaher and then within a few weeks had left Spaher behind for Jager. It was an achievement for him that he was very proud of. In the weeks since Saluce had left to go off on his own for a while Saul had progressed a good deal. The basic reading Skye had taught him had been enough for him to get through the books on bow making and he had heeded his teachers advice and had collected as many nails screws and planks of wood he could find. The wood store had been a little short and not long ago he had made his way out to Dahlia's section of Ethereal Eclipse to fell a dead tree. It hadnt taken to boy long to make appropriate sized planks of darkened wood from the tree. He was set and ready to go.

The early morning run that started each and every day of Saul's life since he returned to Dahlia had been cute short when Saul had caught the scent of a large deer herd cross the borders. He had managed to catch a small doe and had dragged it back into Wolfville to be shared by anyone who wished to take a bite. Still he knew that he would have to get to work soon. The snow was still blanketing the ground but he had kept the foundations of his house clear when the snow had first fallen. It was all set, he just had to get his materials out there. Returning to the Victorian house he had lived in for three months Saul picked up the large satchel containing all his nails and screws. He made his quick way out the back to start gathering the wood. It would take at least five times to get it all out to his little area by Oberons Spring.

Dragging the first load out towards the area was easy. The weight was nothing to him and he was pleased to see that his biceps were becoming impressive. It was the hours of physical labour he did each day and his betterment at his hunting skills that attributed to this sudden burst in muscle mass. But he was glad for it now. A small smile glanced over his lips as he looked at his foundations. A large box of woof filled with even amounts of rocks and a layer of hard wood planks made for a steady foundation to his house. He wanted a large master bedroom for himself a kitchen/diner and a living area. He toyed with the idea of putting three small bedrooms in as well for the future but decided against it for now. He was just about to start living on his own, better not start thinking about finding a mate till later.

Titling his head back the young Stormbringer called for his brothers and his teacher who had all offered their services in helping him build this house. He knew Saluce was back but he had been unable to catch up with him yet. Perhaps they could have a nice conversation while the grey man taught them all how to build something, for Saul was still a little in the dark about what he actually had to do. With a contented sigh Saul turned back to Wolfville to collect another bundle of his wood that he needed.

Life had been somewhat the same ole song and dance. Patrol, leave for a few days then come back patrol, watch over Dahlia with a keen eye and avoid Conor. Not that Saluce disliked him, he just wasn’t much in the mood to talk with him lately. Everything seemed turned upside down now, his will had faltered and he had reconsidered his current residence within dahlia. There were other packs he could leave for that he felt he could survive in sufficiently well. His problem here was maybe he had done such a damn good job with the younger wolves that they had moved up the ranks quicker than he had ever realized. It was the first time he had ever had to come to grips with the fact that an apprentice of his would out rank him or hold the same rank as him. He should have seen this all coming, should have known that the souls he taught Knowledge to, if they where worthy of his advice then they were truly souls worthy of leadership as well. These thoughts where things that irritated his sense of worth, knowing himself to be much more than a simple hunter, or little peon as well. It meant that either his patience wasn’t good enough or his talents had been overlooked and he often pondered if this problem was his own.

Today though he had made a brief trip to his shop, as if he was there for some purpose that he himself knew nothing about, but Sauls call only helped to further prove that nothing really happened for no reason. Lately he had let Saul run his shop, preferring to come and go for now while he sorted out these specific problems of his. Some how he felt like he needed to talk with Conor again, he had never thought of going to him for help before, but his mind was running wild and something in him knew that he needed to talk to him. His body slowly moved to procure the proper things, knowing what Saul was calling for. The male Slung a huge axe on one shoulder, another large hammer on the other. Then for comedic relief he wrapped a tool belt around his waist with a smaller hammer hanging from it along with other items he figured he would need. Finally he grabbed a saw from one of his walls, weighted down and loaded to the teeth with tools he started out in the direction of the call.

It took him a bit longer than he anticipated he hadn’t been working out like he usually did and his age reminded him that he couldn’t just survive on youth’s energy anymore, he’d have to work at keeping his impressive physique in shape or else he’d probably get fat or something terrible like that. The thought alone was detestable and he’d have to get back to work on conditioning. Now though his body carried him to the call, eyes looking for his young apprentice, having yet to touch base with the male.

ooc;; james-bum gave me permission to NPC Gideon in here! Guess i'll just go ahead and reply... might send Thomas a PM... <333

Saul had a rough idea what was going to happen and where things were going to go. It was simply a matter of getting things in the right place and at the right angle and also in the right order and make it somehow secure. He knew very little about building a house, but his decision to wing it and go for it anyway could perhaps be called foolish. But then again, he didnt want to stay in the Victorian house any longer. Eclipse was becoming a little menace, running around and getting under everyone's paws. It wasn't a problem for the eldest Stormbringer but he didnt want to hurt his baby cousin by stepping on her or falling over her. So it really was time to go. When Nayru had met him and she'd said that she found the energies too much, Saul hadn't exactly understood. But now he knew what it was like to want to get on with things in his life but have to worry about everyone else in the house. Of course, this was what pack life was about but it didnt exactly have to be right in his face.

Stretching his muscles overhead Saul picked up the last pile of wood that would complete at the very least, the four walls of his house. Anything inside would be his problem. And he still needed to find some sturdy beams for his roof. But that would come later. Green eyes peered around Gideon's door and a smile graced his lips as he saw his brother snoring. Padding over Saul jabbed him playfully in the ribs with his toe before telling his brother what was going on. After getting a rather groggy agreement from the man, Saul halved his load and gave Gideon the other half. Melee and Range were most probably out terrorising something and they were nowhere to be seen.

The journey back was shorter, but that was probably something to do with the dark haired boy next time him. Chatting easily about their lives and the house they were just about to build they didn't see the foundations until they almost stumbled on them. Throwing their wood onto the large pile already there Saul turned at the sound of an approaching footstep. It was probably Saluce. A smile graced his lips as the older man approached and Saul allowed his tail to wag once as he spied the tools at his teachers belt. He had come prepared at least. Nodding in his direction Saul turned to ponder on the foundations for a moment.

"Okay Saluce... where do we start?"

He asked, picking up a plank of wood to look ready for action. In all honesty Saluce would be the leading light in this little adventure. Saul would just reap the rewards of their hard work.

bullshitting my way through this ><

Upon arriving his eyes looked upon the two males with a smile. Gideon had been a spot of irritation for him lately having come to find out that he had taken Layla in. So he was pretty sure now what the divide between the two was. But his mind tried to look past that for now. Saluce sat some of his tools down and looked out at the scene before them. The one thing he hadn’t brought was digging tools, and from the looks of things now he should have thought of that. It didn’t matter, if they had too they could dig with paws and claws since the ground wasn’t too hard yet.

“First we need to establish a unit of measure Saul.” His hands separated into a unit about as long as a foot, before speaking again “Something about this long that we can then use to measure everything from afterwards.” His hands went back to his tool belt where he grabbed his square and other items and laid them down on a makeshift table. Then his paw brushed against something on his belt and his eyes rolled in annoyance, he pulled the tape measure out and laughed quickly before pulling the thin strip and smirking.

“Never mind, guess I’ll have to teach you how to use a tape measure. It’s in Metric measurements so we won’t have to deal with Fractions” he then proceeded to show it to Gideon, referencing the markings and how they could go about figuring out where to place everything.
