Last thread guys! Please feel free to have your character claim a cave, find a den, or start digging one. Exploration is welcome as well. When I post next, ranks will be passed out and Inferni will offically be back on the map. Let's get this going, guys, we need to be number 1!
indent Gabriel and Anselm had moved back towards the place Inferni had been staying, all the while speaking lightly on the area, which the doggish hybrid was most interested in. The wolves were moving into the forest—he could smell this clearly. That was another reason he was so eager to reform Inferni. On the Waste, they would rule supreme. Before reaching the cave they had temporarily taken up, the hybrid let out a howl, half-requesting and half-demanding the presence of the entire clan.
indent They assembled and he explained, briefly, that they were moving to another area for good. He did not introduce Anselm at this point, instead turning and heading back the way they had come. Not long after, the hybrid was seated atop a boulder in the Waste and addressing the group. “They call this place the Waste, but from now on it belongs to Inferni. You are all free to explore and find yourselves new dens; before dark I’ll be assigning new ranks. If you see any wolves, treat them as hostile.” His eyes were dark as he said this, remaining still where he sat. This was their new home—they had to claim it for themselves.

------This entire experience was proving to be quite fascinating for the hybrid. He and Gabriel had moved quickly back to his motley crew of coyotes and hybrids, a sense of urgency driving them both. Real estate was a funny thing like that; get it now, for in another hour you may have waited too long. It was easier to defend freshly claimed land than it was to conquer it. Already he had vowed not to leave Inferni's new stake of land for some time (after this initial trip, of course). The boundaries would have to be marked and they would need to make their presence known; perhaps a group howl might be in order later on in the evening?
------Once they found the lot of them, Anselm allowed himself to examine them freely. Some young, some young adults, some men, some women... they were over half a dozen strong, which was more than what could be said for many of the wolves scrambling about to organise themselves. It seemed as though Gabriel ran a tight ship and demanded loyalty and obedience. This was a very good thing, for Anselm knew he could never submit to the will of a weak-minded commander.
------He spoke to no one, and simply stayed at the front with Gabriel as he knew his way around best. In a short amount of time, they had made it back to the Waste. Good. They gathered about, and Anselm showed no hesitation in placing himself in the midst of their members. The golden eyed de le Poer made a final announcement to the group, and Anselm flicked an ear. Most of it did not apply to him--he already knew his way around the entire Batons et pierres region, as well as the city to the south. He also already had his own den. And so, for the time being, he merely sat in silence, awaiting further orders.

-assumes it's okay to post now?-
lulzyo Travel, stop. Travel, stop. Pause and rest. Travel, stop. So this was it.

lulzyoMolochai’s golden eyes studied the rather unattractive caves and rocks and he smirked. Beauty was in the eye of the beholder and this place looked lovely to him. No frills and no fuss. Good solid defense. The wolves were still scattered about most likely crying for each other and trying to comfort one another. Meanwhile they had found a good solid territory and a group to stand together. Both males and females, as well as young and old; a good balanced group.

lulzyoHis smirk stayed on his features as he glanced around the group, fading as he came to an unknown male with red eyes. Was this guy related to him somehow? Tail curled around his haunches he let his eyes linger for a moment before turning to look around the territory and perhaps find something interesting for himself. He knew he wanted a place to sleep close enough to the group for protection but far enough away for some peace and quiet from them.
lulzyoAs his brother finished Molochai nodded, wondering how ranks would be “assigned” exactly. A glance at the sky told him he had a little while but he didn’t intend to go far. Staring at Samael out of the corner of his eye, he started towards a little ledge, hopping up on rocks until he reached a nice small cave only a few moments walk from where Gabe was sitting. He could still see the group and laid down quietly to watch, rooting around in the cave for a scent that wasn’t there or at least was fading quickly.

I am stuck typing at the computer with the jiggly keyboard tray. Damn annoying. |:

Hybrid had arrived more or less at the same time as the other two coyotes, ones that seemed to have emerged from the flames as aliles, or perhaps had simply been awaiting their arrival on the other side of the mountains. Whatever the case was, Hybrid was certainly glad the clan was growing. He was completely unfamilar with the lands and did not know where any of the wolf packs were located, or if there were any yet. He was unsure if they had remained in their original packs, or if the fire had been too much. If they were lucky, some of the old wolves from Aremys and Syemv would have perished in the flames. It was a wishful thought, but rumour had it that the once-leader of both packs was now dead. He hoped her followers had perished alongside with her.

He eyed the two males, watching them sourly. No matter who these allies were, they better not be some sort of new-famed leaders. He had accepted Gabriel as leader because of his right to the throne, both as Prince and a worthy member. Although the clan was not a monarchy, it was certainly an oligarchy and was ruled by a small number of influential individualds. He would have to see, later, when ranks were 'assigned' what these coyotes were and what they claimed to be.

He glanced from one male to the next, then to the lands that surrounded them. The Waste. It was a fitting name for such a place, and one that would suit the coyotes quite well. The land reflected much of who the coyotes were: broken shores and sharp rocks made their presence known by the water's edge. He had not explored much else of the territory yet, but he supposed that he would soon. The end had come and passed, and now it was time for death.

Barely a thought had been given to the landscape they now claimed as their own. The Waste. Perhaps a perfect name for this worthless place, filled with jagged rocks and dirty sand. But this was their new kingdom, and the caves would have to be palaces, decked out in silver and gold, and adorned with precious jewels. Gaze shifted over those gathered, laying eyes on the strange red-eyed creature in their midst. Attention lingered only briefly, lip curling faintly at the audacity of Gabriel's new ally, but otherwise no thoughts were given toward him. He'd worry about that later, if need be.
Instead, he caught his other brother's gaze once Gabriel had finished, following him toward the ledge and the cave he seemed to have claimed as his own. Leaping up onto the rocks, he seated himself at Molochai's side, curling his tail around his legs and allowing gaze to linger on the distant group.

Wow, I am DUMB, I did not see this here or I would have replied MUCH sooner. :/

She was still in a daze, everything had not settled in at all with the girl. It felt like a dream and everything was moving too quickly for her to grasp on to it seemed. Gabriel had lead them to this new place. Did he start the fire himself? He seemed all too sure about himself and she had barely gotten to talk to him on the trip. He was so determined and she looked over her mate wearily, but that did not stop her from anything. She let out a sigh as she pushed the two pups along onto the rock, Talitha bolting for a spot right beside her father. Faolin looked over the caves quietly while she waited to see which one Gabriel would pick out. She would let him take the pick, honestly as long as it was warm, safe and comfortable she would be fine with anything.

After Gabriel was finished speaking Faolin followed suit after Talitha and took a seat beside her mate. Her tail flicked idly back and forth, ears erect as she listened to the sounds of the wolves that were making their way into the territory. It seemed like they were more at a loss then the large Inferni group. Faolin grinned maliciously, this was all too good. They were in the middle of rebuilding their great Empire while the wolves were still trying to find one another. They seemed to be getting dumber by the second and it would only secure the Coyote's reign over the new lands. It was so weird moving all of a sudden, Inferni had been her home since she was young. This was too big a change for her to swallow all at once, but she supposed she would get used to it.

"Gabriel, the pups need a place to sleep. Where should we go?" she asked, red eyes drifting from the stranger sitting beside him back to his own face. He would decide where they slept and probably already had their den picked. She rose to her feet and stretched out her body before sitting back down comfortably beside him. Her tail swept Talitha and Ezekiel close to her, replicas of their father it seemed. They were growing into promising little soldiers. Faolin gave a lick to each of them as they waited expectingly for their father.

Rachias had followed along ever since Gabriel had drug her back from trying to find Arkham. She'd hung back from the group, completely missed most of everything that they'd said, and kept to herself except for the brief moment that she'd sat close to Faolin. That had all changed once they had started moving though. Rachias had nothing to do with any of them now, only that she was being drug along with them to wherever it was that they had decided to go. Whatever the case, they'd made it, and Gabriel was suddenly addressing them over it. The caramel colored girl sat a good ways away from them all, only half listening to what was going on.

The one thing to catch her attention was the mention of treating wolves as hostile. In a way, Rachias took offense to the words, and frowned to herself where she sat. The rest of them might treat them as hostile, but Rachias wouldn't. Some of the wolves out there, whether anyone else liked it or not, were her family. The rest of them would wander off to look around, find dens perhaps, but not Rachias. She'd just be sitting there.

Okay kids, one more reply and Inferni is back on the map. >:] I'll have the website up soon so the ranks will be explained better--if you're confused before then, IM or PM me about them.
indent Gabriel explained to Faolin where he had picked their den (a cave out of the way of the wind, above the field) and that once finished he would show her. There was a lot to be done, and he intended to finish here as soon as he felt it had been long enough. Another howl, and again they came. Gabriel regarded the group as a whole, then began speaking, attention turning to each name he mentioned in turn. “We’ll be keeping most of the ranks we once had, with a few changes. Faolin will be Praetorian,” he began, feeling no qualm about setting his mate into a leader position. “Hybrid will be the first Hyrda, which replace the Gladius—you take orders from no one except me,” he added.
indent “Samael will serve as Scorpius, our lead hunter.” Might as well allow him to kill, Gabriel supposed. “Anselm; Caelum—scout and spy. Molochai; Imperium. Rachias; Praeses.” Finished, Gabriel looked around the group. Five men, two women, three children. They could take the wolves down, one by one, if that was truly what needed to be done. A wicked smile cracked Gabriel’s face and he spoke again. “Remember this—we have survived war, we have survived drought, and we have survived flame. Inferni is as strong as ever while they scramble about like rats. Tonight we’ll remind them of that.”
indent And with that, Gabriel threw back his head and let out a vicious call, mocking and warning the straggling wolves all at once that Inferni was here and Inferni was ready to kill.

------Several looks were shot his way, but for the time being, he did not say a word. If they really had a problem, they could try to talk to him about it later. Being the first to make contact was not his style--Gabriel had been an exception. If nobody wanted to waste their time on him, not only would he not mind--he would prefer it. At this point, he was content to observe them all carefully, taking special notes on what they were doing. Gabriel appeared in control of his mate, at least at a first glance. One just sort of sat there dumbly, seemingly oblivious to the happenings around her. Odd. Another male also stayed back, but he seemed more alert or annoyed. Two males moved off nearby and watched from afar.
------Before too long, they reconvened and Gabriel delivered their ranks. Sensibly, Gabriel and his mate seemed to be the leaders. His eyes followed Gabriel's gaze as he addressed each of them in turn--their names would necessarily stick. Obviously, he stood out like a sore thumb. If they knew his name (which he rarely gave out), it was only fair for him to know theirs. Sharp as a tack, he registered each face and title in the back of his mind. Every time a new name was introduced, he would go over the list in order once more in his head. When it came to his rank, he nodded to Gabriel, then went back to his memory game. He would have time to think about his duties later--he already knew that he would enjoy them. They occurred naturally to him and he would probably practise the tasks whether he had been officially assigned them or not. After a few more rounds of match-the-face-and-the-name, Gabriel let out a shrill warning call--ahh, it seemed as though the leader had read his mind. Well, that would certainly be a unique technique for keeping the masses in line, he thought to himself, a joke for him alone. Quickly, he threw back his head and added his own powerful voice to the call. Even now, his eyes remained open as he stared up into the sky. Peripheral was still available, as always when in the presence of others. For some time, the coyotes of Inferni would be under his observation just as much as the wolves that were settling nearby.
