In Character

The week that had ensued Shawchert was not the happiest he’d had at all. He had been sad… not for himself but for Sky, and for the pups she lost. He knew that they were not his, but he was intent on helping her take care of them even so early in the pregnancy. He had been spending much of the week trying to make Sky happy, but it was hard, and he hoped she would soon find hear heart in living again, not mourning her pups. He had taken to staying at her house, though he made sure that he tucked her in and slept on the couch, though it would have been nice just to be close to her, he didn’t want something to happen that would entirely split their relationship.

He was now sitting in Sky’s living room having a staring contest with the goat, who had beat him a few times before already that morning. He was waiting for her to get up so he could show her a prize that he had found, something that would possibly make her happy… well he hoped. It was a rare find in the wintertime, and he didn’t know that they were here, but lo and behold he’d found them, and the source as well, clucking along in the middle of Thornbury’s newly worn road! He broke contact with the goat who nosed his knee telling him he saw and he won… yet again.

You are a batty creature, I’m not playing this game with you ever again!

He grumbled and sat back. He didn’t want to wake her up, she didn’t normally sleep this late… but he wanted to show her, it would hopefully a good part of the day. He got up and moved his way to her room, and crept inside, trying not to make any noise. He moved over next to her slight form, still under the covers of the bed, and leaned over here, kissing her cheek lightly.

Good morning sunshine.

Sky had really been feeling the weather lately. She'd been stuck inside all week, and though she physically felt better, she was so tired and worn. The only thing that had helped her any was the visit from J'adore, which allowed her to use one of her hobbies in style, and the constant company of Shawchert, or so it seemed. Speaking of which...

Sky was asleep, yes, but she was in that half-way stage, where she could hear and smell, but not quite comprehend anything. It was the sudden warmth beside her, though faint, and the tiny peck to her cheek that roused her enough to hear the words that followed, voice instantly belonging to Shawchert. She'd become so used to him being there now that if in the mornings, she woke, and he was gone, she'd worry to the point of a panick attack, not that she'd ever admit it.

Sky made a tiny noise of protest at being woken, snuggling tighter under the blanket with a frown and a whine. Something was muttered incoherently, and then she sighed as the wolfdog once again attempted sleep. The world outside the blankets was a cold one, and not worth her precious time. She damned the man trying to wake her, dead set on getting at least five more minutes in before she'd have to do chores, and move about the house. No doubt that plan would backfire, but it was worth the try, at least in her mind it was. Blah. Wakefullness was for the weak! Sleep!

Shaw pursed his lips, knowing it wasn’t going to be so easy to get her out of bed, but that was the beginning, yes he had other tricks up his sleeve, ones that would not make her pop up in a panic or anything. His hand found its way up to her shoulder that was the most visible, and started rubbing it. He moved even closer to her his chin rested on the hand that was rubbing her shoulder. He stared at her clenched eyes, as she wished for more sleep. He knew she wouldn’t get it. He knew she would lay there all day if Shaw wasn’t around.

I’ve got something in the other room that the goat might eat if you don’t get up… and I think you might like it… but Casper’s probably making it a meal by now.

Shaw whispered hoping this will get her interest peeked, he moved his nose over to her ear and gave a little blow in it before backing away, knowing his warm body that had contributed to her being even warmer was now gone from her. He waited for what she would do next. He knew her mood always changed yet he still tried to make sure that he was on top of things. His duty right now in the morning was making Sky smile. No matter what.

Sky's ear flicked as he leaned over her, rubbing her shoulder and pressing weight down there. It was a nice, warm feeling, one she leaned into slightly without opening her eyes. As he started talking, she made a sound of protest to the break in the silence, but her ear flicked to listen, eyes still closed in a denial of being awake. He mentioned something about a gift or something, and how Casper was bound to eat it. Wait, what? Her brows furrowed, ears flicking at the breath against them, though she didn't react as usual to it, too focused on trying to make sense of what he'd said. Eating a present? What in the....

Finally, blue eyes fluttered open, just a crack, and she turned a bit so she could face him with tired eyes. Her voice cracked as she tried using it, a normal thing whenever she woke up. "...if you make my goat sick, I'll cut it off." She left what 'it' was to the imagination, then sat up, groaning a bit. With a quick shake of her head, girl shifted, pulling the blankets around her. "Mrrph. Gotta get dressed. Shoo."

Oh sure, the two were a couple now, but that didn't mean mister alpha here got to see her stark every morning. Sure, normally she was fine with being naked infront of people, as she'd been a while back, but these days she had been leaning more and more towards human behaviour, mostly to keep her mind on her actions. She stretched a bit, leaning back some, and then stood, flicking the sleepy daze away. "Go make sure Casper doesn't eat whatever it is. I don't need him pooping out foreign objects."

Jokes in the morning… definitely got her up. He wasn’t going t really find out if it was a joke or not, though he seriously doubted the goat would die… unless he ate the thing whole. He reluctantly moved away, turned at the door for a second and smiled at her.

He’ll be fine.

He said and left, letting her have her privacy. Shaw had in fact put it in a place too high for the goat, though the animal actually managed to do some smart things so he didn’t dare leave the animal alone in the room for a long time.

NO SPIT THAT OuT RIGHT NOW YOU MANGY FUR PILE!

Shawchert yelled as he saw what the animal was getting into. He had one of the carvings he’d painstakingly made in his mouth. Shawchert hurried to the scared goat who was now on it’s side stiff, though shaw thought it was funny, right now, he was more worried about the art piece than the stupid goats failing legs. He took the thing out of his mouth and examined it… destroyed… as he thought. Shawchert sighed, and sat on the couch again, giving the goat a glare… he was angry but tearing his eyes away he grumbled under his breath making sure that he was calm when Sky came in.

+366 I FINISHED SSWM WITH THIS POST!!!!

Sky lifted a brow to him as he tried reassuring her, and considering retorting, though she made no movement to. Rather, as soon as he'd closed the door, she went about getting dressed. At one point, she stood staring at the bed, a sort of longing in her eyes as she did. ...it was so warm under those blankets. With what looked like the start of a scowl, she glanced away, and then shrugged. Can't be helped. He'd have continued pestering me if I hadn't gotten up. She brushed herself off and wandered over, checking the mirror.

Girl was dressed nice today, though casual. She'd since taken to wearing a new black sweater, one that was more form hugging than her older blue one. It was stitched in a few places with tiny golden butterflies, a cute touch. Her usual blue-jeans, faded along the front, and flared for boots at the bottom. She worked for a few minutes, and finally got her hair up in a ponytail, still tying it up as she walked out into the hall, and preceeded down to the living room, where she heard yelling. No doubt Casper's fault. Stupid goat.

"If you were so set on keeping whatever it is safe, you should've put Casper in the yard." She still had her hands up to her hair, fixing it, as she came into the living room, her voice matter-of-fact. She glanced over as Casper was just getting up and smirked, giving a small 'heh' at him. "Behave, you silly thing. Go chew on some fire wood." She waved him out of the room, then turned back to look at Shaw. He looked upset. Goodie.

"...hon..." Her features smoothed into a patient understanding, moving over to kneel infront of him, on her toes, and rested her arms loosely on his lap, smiling somewhat up at him. "I'm supposed to be the depressive angst-whore here, not you. Stop giving yourself premature gray hairs." She brushed a hand across his chin, as if checking for said white fur, and happily found nothing. "What did he ruin this time?" Her hand returned to his lap, and she smiled, showing she'd not be upset either way.

Shaw looked up as he heard her walk in. Sky was stunning as usual and his unhappiness with the goat washed away at once. She was talking to the goat and she kneeled in front of him. Telling him he was not the one who was suppose to be like that. Shawchert smiled.

It’s ok, just a project I’ll have to do another day… but that isn’t what I wanted to show you.

He said, his excitement slowly starting to come back. He got up and went to the table where the three oval items. He picked them up gingerly and brought them back to the couch.

So… I was out and about today… I don’t know how it happened but I came upon a chicken. And she was sitting on something. So I was curious and scared her away.. look at this!! Three unfertilized eggs!!

He said opening his palms up for her to see the three perfect white eggs.

I thought they would make for a good breakfast for you!

He was still not entirely sure of her diet… but who could say no to eggs… in the winter!? In any case if she didn’t want that he’d find the chicken and strangle her for Sky if he had to. He had been trying to please the young woman for so long now. He wanted her to be happy. He smiled at her hopefully, unsure if she would be happy by this surprise or not.
