This is the OLD WOMAN IN PERIL thread which occurs on the morning of February 6th. +3

The snow had begun to fall during the day. Gabriel had thought little of it—he had seen many winters, after all. It was during the night that things had changed. He had retreated inside when the wind began to cut like daggers, striking his exposed skin with sharp claws and freezing bite. There was no reason to stay outside anymore, which had led the sable-brushed Aquila to take his chances inside. At least within his large cave there was no wind, no snow; it was not unreasonably cold either. Reading by firelight, sipping old whiskey to warm himself, the coy-wolf had fallen asleep with the wind howling outside.

It was one such gust that woke him hours later, screaming outside of his cave entrance. With a grunt, the Aquila rose and made his way to the entrance. He balked. Outside the snow had covered nearly the whole of the plain-like area below his des, and visibility had dropped to the point that he could not see the tree-line that marked the far edge of Inferni’s territory. Startled by such a sight, he made his way out of his den. His cave had been chosen with harsh weather and attack in mind, and the entrance was clear of snow until he made his way to the overhang above it. Nearly everything within sight was buried in the white stuff, which was still blowing about in that ever-biting wind.

Gabriel shook his fur and began to make his way along the cave system, now recognizing that such weather could be dangerous. It was nearly to his shoulders in some places, and he was far taller than most of Inferni. Subconsciously he made his way to Kaena’s cave first, and what greeted him was horrible. Snow had buried the entrance completely, and as he pawed at it roughly, the Aquila realized exactly how deep it w as. He did not panic yet, but he recognized the danger here was great; she could suffocate if left in there too long. The coy-wolf whined lowly, and then let out a series of braying barks, alerting her to his presence. When he heard noise within, he lifted his nose into the cold air and howled for help.

Almost as quickly, he began digging furiously in the snow.

Lupus 3+

In Character

She'd curled up early the night before, tired from her prolonged exposure to the Russian wolf found outside of Halo's door. Strangers exhausted her. The snow was falling again when she finally left the D'Neville manor, making her way to the cave she'd snatched up as her home. It was close to her father, giving her comfort in the night from the horrors in her dreams. It made it so easy to sleep.

But the morning wasn't so kind. She awoke to the howling sound of winds tearing through the Grimwell Caverns. Startled, she bolted to her feet, and managed to slam her head into the wall in the process. "Dammit!" There wasn't time to nurse her wound, as her eyes had already begun to study the cave she stood in. Something was clearly wrong.

The Lykoi took a few hesitant steps from her home, having to push a thick wall of snow to the ground in order to leave her den. While she had slept, it seemed nature had decided upon a fit of wrath over the coy-mutt kingdom. She shouldered past the banks, startled and set on edge. Something was wrong.

Sure enough, the sound of a howling call for help caught her ears. Her body managed to dredge up new found energy, a short burst that lead her to the vicinity of the Aquila and caved in home. Confused for only a moment, she wondered why the large male was so concerned for a cave. The snow had washed away the scent of the old woman within it, at least to the liquor-laden nose of the de le Poer princess.

Rather than ask questions of her leader, she circled him, small paws starting in on a corner of the opening. It wasn't until movement inside caught her attention that her concern jumped, and her pace quickened against the heavy mass of snow.

Sepirah was having a very hard time sleeping. She was really not used to the weather and wished the winter season would come to an end. She could feel the chill running through her fur and hitting her skin as she laid in her home. She tried pulling her blanket over her body to lock the heat in, but it was not helping much. She wanted to feel the warmth of spring against herself again. Perhaps it was a bad idea to stay here for the winter, but she was not about to abandon her duties because of a little snow. She was of a respectable rank and she only wished to pushed herself further so she could prove to her leader family members she could be just as good as them. The dark princess raised her head and took a glance outside. The wind was blowing much faster than normal. It looked like a storm had decended upon the Inferni lands. This was not good for some of the members here. If they did not choose the right cave then they were in danger. Perhaps this was the perfect time to put the jackal’s scouting skills to the test.

Sepirah dropped the blanket behind her and moved out towards the entrance of the cave. She could feel the rushing wind, though tried to ignore it. She opened her golden eyes to see the land covered in a think layer of snow, more coming by the minute. Without the slightest hesistation, she leaped into the snow. Considering she was so small compared to the other members of the pack, she sank all the way into the snow. This was not a good sign. She had to find someone and fast. The dark princess raised her nose into the air and began to walk forward. She tried to use her sense of smell to locate the other members, but it was really hard considering the strength of the storm. The jackal grew tired of trying to track in her tiny lupus form. She lowered her head and began to feel her bones mending. She could feel the muscles shifting in her body as she changed into her optime form. The dark girl then stood on her back legs and looked around. She had a much better view now, so it would not be as hard to locate other members.

Sepirah continued to push herself along until she caught sight of her uncle and another member near a den. She could not tell who the other member was from the snow blowing in her face. She approached Gabriel and the other member, who she could now she was Talitha, and was about to question him on what was going on. It was not until she noticed which den they were in front of that she began to panic. The only member she really felt a connection to, her grandmother. She forced herself in with the other two and began to use her hands to get the snow away. She was worried for Kaena’s safety. The air must have been running out in there. It was important that they got her out of there as quickly as possible. It would be a bit of time before the dark princess would be able to shift into her stronger secui form. Until then, she would have to trust that her hands could break through the thick wall of snow blocking the entrance.

Sorry if anything's wrong; postin' from mah phone at work lol. WC: 428

It had begun the night before. The storm had caused the old man to sleep fitfully. The noise of the wind and the sounds of the blizzard rustling through the trees had not been easy to sleep with. His cave did not shield him fully from the chill, either, and its entrance had filled with snow by the time he rose.

Crimson eyes flickered open slowly, greeted by a half wall of thick snow. Oh, how obnoxious the weather could be. With a low growl, he heaved himself out through the opening, shoving aside whatever snow was in his way.
The Hydra glanced around bleakly; the sky was gray and the flurries still came through. The snow was so deep in some places, the man knew he would have to avoid them or risk getting stuck.

Immediately, the man thought of Kaena. Her cave was nearby, and judging the direction of the winds and alert, she could be in danger. Instinctively, the old man took off in her direction.

Kesho did hear Gabriel's call, but only after he'd already begun running.

His steps were careful, but very intentional. He knew exactly where he was going, and although his aging bones ached, he sped as fast as ever, his mind reeling, pleading to whatever gods there might be that she was alright.

Kesho arrived in record time, not having slowed his pace at all. He sped right up to the cave entrance, having seen the three furiously digging at the wall of snow blocking Kaena in. The old man did not stop, and instead hurled his body as heavily as he could into the wall, paws first in a very instinctive movement. His face bore no expression but determination.

Kesho had seen Gabriel, Talitha, and Sepirah but did not really acknowledge their presence. It was good to have more help, but his mind was on a single track and would not be strayed from it until this situation was resolved.

The rusty, graying man dug furiously, quickly and with all of his strength. Every several seconds, he would pause and plow all of his weight against the snow with his paws once again, hoping to dislodge the ice in larger sheets and get to his aging friend as soon as caninely possible.

"Kaena!" the old Hydra half shouted, half breathed.

He was panting now, but could not feel the pain of the cold nor the lack of breath in his lungs. He felt nothing but the snow flying out from under his paws, his weight crushing the ice purposefully.

ooc: china = useless XD

Wordcount: 5+

It was the cold that woke her first - The omnipotent chill that clung to cool skin, sliding icy fingers beneath silver-dappled pelt as though they reached to grasp her very bones. Curled as she was against her sister, China roused slowly, savouring the last eddies of sleep that clung still to the unfurling bloom of her mind. But instantly, that mind was assailed by instinct that was livid in her royal blood; the instinct of generations of Lykoi souls, that which knew immediately of the presence of danger.

Her first reaction was to check Sage, but the girl slept peacefully, her beautiful form curved neatly to fit against China's own. During the night, China seemed to have shifted into her Lupus figure, perhaps so as to conserve warmth with less lengthy limbs. She rose quietly now, and left the small den in which she and her sister had temporarily been harbouring. It was a clever little place, perhaps a bit wet should rain have come, but its open mouth faced away from the crystalline onslaught of snow, and as such there was only a meager obtrusion that the Lykoi princess easily broke through and out into the bleary sunlight.

Satellite ears swivelled to catch the call, and before her brain was fully aware of the reason, the hippie child was running. Four legs were better than two when it came to speed, but her dainty form struggled against the deeper drifts of snow. The pristine surface of white was soon marred by struggled pawprints, and large mounds of upheaval from where her light body weight had been too much for the frosted surface, and the girl had temporarily floundered.

Regardless, it seemed little time at all before China reached her destination, that which she had already figured out to be Kaena's home. It had only been a little while ago that she had been here speaking with the greyed woman. Unexpected tongues of fear licked at her throat at the thought of running into her grandmother again - What if Kaena knew what she had done? What if, just by looking at her grandchild, Omi might simply be able to SEE the golden youth that she had so sinfully traipsed with?

There was a small gathering of figures, and these unreasonable fears were scattered by reality. Where the gaping entrance to Kaena's claustrophobic cave should be was instead a formidable wall of ice and snow. Cerulean eyes recognised two of the figures present - Gabriel, her uncle, and Sephira, the beautiful black jackal - But the other two, although smelling of the pack, were strangers. All four had busied themselves digging in various levels of concern against the snow. China looked to her own small paws, then back to the four, shifting her weight uneasily. She longed to see her grandmother's grizzled features, for similar as she was in appearance to the old woman, the girl felt that she shared a special link with the other. At the same time, she did not wish to stand in the way of the diggers, and unable to shift into her Secui form would probably not have been much help to them.

Settling with her strengths instead, the leggy coyote reclined to her haunches, blue eyes keenly observing the progress. The other four need not waste their voices in reassurance when their breath was required for digging - This, China could do. "Grandmother!" She called out in a surprisingly calm and firm voice, musical tone offering a soothing quality to the word. "There are many here to help, just outside your cave. They are gonna dig you out. Stand back from the snow, so it doesn't fall on you!" She rose to pace, back and forth behind the digging Inferni members, cornflower gaze darting here and there to see their progress. "You just stay calm, grandmother. It wont be long now!"

Word Count :: 371 HEEEEEEEEERP. So I'm the slowest person ever. ._. Kaena is a derp, guys. She does not know she are in danger~ Also Kesho is adorkable.

The silver-shaded woman's cave had been strangely empty lately, ridded of Itachi's presence for nearly two months now. Still, she could not shake that strange empty feeling from her cave -- the room where he had slept now smelled thoroughly of him, though it had grown faint and musty over the wintery weeks. Still, it was there, reminding the old woman of her lost cause every time she caught so much as a whiff of it. This general feeling of dreariness had kept her inside for most of the prior night, even before the storm had even started with ferocity. The borders were well-attended to with Kesho and all of the younger canines of the clan; she had no business venturing outside in such weather.

In the middle of the night, she woke up to find the entrance to her cave strangely obscured, half-piled with snow. Even then, the coyote hadn't thought much of it, and she had simply fallen back asleep until a muffled, faraway noise woke her again some hours later. It sounded like Gabriel. She opened her eye to find that her cave was still dark, and peculiarly warm. Blinking her yellow-golden eye, she peered to the entrance to find it was completely packed with snow. Curiously, she stood, stretching her body out and making her way to the entrance. She didn't venture very close, as a strange shuffling had begun, and the hybrid feared the snow collapsing over her, though it was not that she thought it was dangerous. Rather, she much preferred to remain away from the frigid-cold snow -- she was stiff and achey enough in the morning as it was.

She heard her voice, but she did not immediately recognize the voice through the wall of snow. “I'm in here,” she responded, albeit grumpily -- she did not realize the danger of running out of air, as she thought her cave had plenty of it. The hybrid woman took a few steps back from the entrance, following the advice of the feminine voice that sounded like one of her grand-daughters. She stood, listening to the scrabble and scratch of her clan-mates, wondering who had showed up to dig her out of here, waiting patiently.

Word Count → -- :: We'll do one more round after this, Bobbi feel free to say Kesho breaks through on your next post.

The panic in Gabriel had faded to a piercing need, demanding speed, demanding him to be calm. It was the presence of others that forced this, for he could not display weakness around them, not as their leader. Talitha was at his side, her small frame and paws working quickly. Samael’s dark daughter was next to arrive, and she too jumped into the fray. Kesho came with reckless abandon, and used a technique that Gabriel had not expected. Had he been thinking clearly, he would have recognized it as a coyote hunting tactic—one he did not use.

China did not join them when she arrived, but instead spoke to Kaena. This was well enough. Gabriel worried she might panic, might do something to cut her air even further. The Aquila continued to dig furiously, finding the snow much deeper than he had originally expected. Kaena’s voice came from inside and her tone made the dark-faced male growl deep in his throat. Did she think this was a game?

Others came, from the exotic Sepirah to the older Kesho, and Talitha was more than willing to give them space to help save the elderly coyote woman. Her paws hollowed out a smaller area, her underweight body fitting into a space between the larger bodies of her father and the old coyote that enabled her to take a part of their contributions as well. Kesho seemed to have a better idea than the rest of them, using his weight as a battering ram against the packed wall. She admired his concern for her silver grandmother.

It was the appearance of her cousin that caused irritation to bubble over her determination. Unlike Sepirah, who had thundered into the thick of the work, the blue-eyed female hung back and spoke through the wall instead. The Lykoi's black-rimmed ears fell back in frustration as the younger female paced behind them. "Shut up and help dig or go away and be useless somewhere else," she hissed, taking a leaf out of Kesho's attack and slamming her slender body into the thick wall. It was no time for friendly family chatter.

Duuurrr. Lemme know if you want me to wait to post this...but Kesho really isn't acknowledging anyone else anyways so I figured it'd be okay. xD

He did not stop his relentless pursuit; he would not stop. Not until she was free, safe, unharmed. Kesho's panicked breaths became shorter, and he did not hear any other words than the few that Kaena spoke: “I'm in here.” That confirmation of her life was all he needed, and his determination was fortified.

An large ear twitched in irritation as he heard a vague argument forming, but now was certainly not the time for that ridiculous instigation. With a great huff, he forced his body into the wall of snow once again, feeling the resistance crumble beneath him. He didn't exactly have time to catch himself, and the force of his momentum flung him into the cave. The old man's feet continued to propel him, his eyes not yet focused ahead. As soon as those red eyes looked up, though, they met the single, seemingly unconcerned eye of his favorite Centurion. Kesho skid to a halt as he saw her, promptly releasing himself into a half-seated, oddly splayed position.

"Kaena," he breathed, voice nearly a whisper, his chest heaving as he panted heavily. His warm breath rose in clouds before him, and he swallowed hard, red eyes racing over her body, checking for any new damage. "Are you alright?" he gasped, although it was clear that she was.

The man turned his head to glance through the hole they'd made, feeling a bit awkward now. He sat, half-hunched, his lungs on fire as he took deep hungry breaths of that cold air, hoping to quench their burning hunger, now that the danger was over.

Word Count → 317 :: HERP. Figured it was okay to post now since Kesho breaks her out. XD Also Gabriel should be like >:| (as always) and YELL AT HER in front of everyone and make her all DDDD: yes? Big Grin

The silver-shaded coyote remained standing, her single eye watching as the snow began to shift and crumble from the inside. She groaned, figuring it would all run downhill. As it was, she kept everything up as high as she could and away from the water. The caves were prone to floods, and it had gotten uncomfortably damp in here more than once. The old Centurion wouldn't risk ruining anything these days, not when she was too frightened of Halifax to head there by herself. It had been more than half a year since Haku died, and a year and a half since the library, and the old woman still would not venture there alone. She had been only once since, guarded by a caravan of three other coyotes under the pretense of war preparations.

Kaena tried not to think of these things anymore, though they inadvertently surfaced -- it was to be expected, after all. Time certainly faded some of the hurt, but it never did erase the memories, and she knew that from more years of experience than she cared to reflect upon. The coyote took a step backwards as a large section of the wall caved in, bringing with it a blast of cold and surprisingly fresh air. The state and sour taste of the cave faded almost immediately, and the Centurion inhaled sharply, peering at Kesho as soon as her eye adjusted to the sudden light with a grin on her face. “Good morning, Kesho. I'm fine,” the hybrid said, rather happy to have the company of her long-time friend. “Nice of you all to come and dig me out,” she said, still unaware of the severity of the situation. “Who else is out there? Couldn't figure it out with all that snow in the way,” the coyote added, her single eye looking to the bright space where Kesho had burst through the snow.

Sepirah would not stop working for anything. She was more determined than ever to help out her grandmother and makes sure that she was safe. She watched over to Talitha as well as Kesho, glad to see that they were also joining in on helping to get her out. She was a bit disappointed to look back and see that one of the members who joined did not even help with the digging. All she was doing was speaking to Kaena. The dark princess narrowed her eyes a bit to her and then went back to her work. She could fell the chill of the snow clinging to her paws as she continued to dig. She hated this cold and wished that spring would come so that they did not have to put up with this anymore. The jackal continued to claw at the wall of snow, trying her best to make it fall.

Sepirah was relieved when she saw that Kesho had broken through and she was able to see her grandmother. She bounced into the den and made her way over to the old leader. She lowered her head and looked her over with the male to make sure that she was ok. She was so relieved when she heard that her grandmother was alright. The dark princess lowered her head to Kaena’s to give her a gentle nuzzle. ”Oh Grandmother, you scared me half to death. I was so worried about you. I’m so glad you’re safe.” She remained calm as she spoke. There was no reason to yell at her seeing as it was just an honest mistake. The jackal stayed by her grandmother’s side though moved out of her view so she could see who else had come to help her out. She was truly greatful to everyone for their help and was sure Kaena was as well.

The gruff words of the Centurion came rumbling weakly from behind the wall. Enthused by this response, China's short plume wagged sharply, and a stream of soothing words babbled from her maw. If Kaena was still conscious, then her air levels much be temporarily sufficient - The worst thing for her to do now would be to panic, or to get too close to the wall in the event that it inwardly collapsed. China took it upon herself to speak to the elderly woman, regardless of whether or not she could hear it; Nobody else seemed to have the breath for such antics, and besides, her attempts at digging would have been so futile as to make herself obsolete anyway. The girl was built like a bird, with light hollow bones unfit for breaking through thickly-packed snow.

It seemed that the Aquila agreed with her technique, for his attentions did not deviate from the task at hand. Another female, however, uttered some scathing remarks that the silver songbird chose glibly to ignore. Aggression was wasted on the hippie-child, and she offered little in retaliation apart from a slight scowl.

It seemed, in the end, that is was Kesho's destiny to be the hero of this tale. Suitably awed by his effort, the Lykoi princess watched as the snow crumbled beneath his feverish administrations, allowing the aged male to tumble into the depths of the cave. Her nose twitched at the slight smell of stale air exiting through the hole, but knowing her place, China held back from those who had been digging and waited for the others to discover the state of the woman there-in. In no way did she wish to get between Gabriel and his mother at this point in time, although the effort not to run to Kaena was heavy indeed.

Anxious to know the health of her favoured Matriarch, and instinctively craving some weed to take the edge off of that anxiety, the girl's eggshell blue eyes dipped nervously around the bustled rescue group. "Omi?" Came the hesitant squeak, her body almost shaking with joy and relief at hearing the old woman's voice well forth from within that dreadful cave.

Fff my first post got erased so this one is much suckier. Sad EVERYONE CAN TALK ABOUT GABE NOW BECAUSE HE'S SO MEAN.

Gabriel was surprised by his daughter’s vicious snap. It was unlike her otherwise docile nature, though this was quickly attributed to the stress at hand. His attention remained focused on the task at hand. His large paws weakened the wall of snow as he dug, but it was Kesho who made the final break. The older coyote sprawled before his equally elder mother, who seemed oblivious to the danger she had been in. As his niece paraded inside, puppyish despite her age, the Aquila growled lowly. He did not move into the cave, but remained outside and unable to hide his frustration.

“What the hell is wrong with you?” He barked, hackles rising. "Didn’t you think to try and dig yourself out earlier?” If she had, this whole thing might have been avoided. Gabriel had worried his mother might be dead by now, but she was just as chipper as his nieces. Frustrated, he paced away from the group, turning to eye the lay of her cave. Twin inlets in the rocky rise that formed above the entrance had given the snow a clear path to slide down when the weight had become too much. It was a poor choice for a home, and he considered chastising her about it, but chose otherwise. “Until this stuff melts, go stay somewhere else. I don’t want to have to rescue an old woman from her own home again,” he added, a biting reminder that she was well past her prime. With that, the Aquila stalked off, his hackles on end as he walked away from the group.

Mean Gabriel. >:|

Kesho was the one to break through the wall, leaving the princess relieved to see her paternal grandmother in good spirits. Unlike her cousins, or the old coyote, she hung back beside her father; she was unwilling to fight for space in the audience of the old coyote. Crimson eyes watched as the dark jackal-hybrid and petite grey creature pushed themselves forward, Sepirah clearly worried for their grandmother's welfare. Talitha's toes scraped against the ground as she waited for 'her turn', something she didn't expect to receive.

Gabriel was angry. The Lykoi's black-rimmed ears fell back against her skull as she listened to her father bark out questions to his mother; what was wrong with her, didn't she try to get out? She tried to attribute it to his worry, knowing how important the Centurion was to not only the Aquila, but to Inferni itself. "Father." Her single word was soft, but firm. A reprimand to the leader for his outward display of anger.

His biting remark about Kaena's age was all he left before stalking off to be by himself. A silent pair of sympathetic eyes followed him before turning back to the aged female. The russet Lykoi approached, hanging behind her cousins and the older coyote to sit and watch. Perhaps Gabriel had been right. "Father is probably correct that you should stay elsewhere, Grandmother Kaena." She tried to add a sweet edge to her words, but it was lost on her softer voice. The manor was what set firm in her mind, with plenty of rooms and a better environment for older bones. "Perhaps you can go stay in the manor. I'm sure there are rooms there for you."

KAENA IS STUPID HURF. China can run after her and we assume they went and smoked away their troubles somewhere private, jajaja? Also Mel you know this means I require an ADORABLE KAE-GABE LOVE THREAD NOW. :| HE NEEDS TO BE NICE TO HIS MOM AND MAKE UP FOR BEING A JERK. AND BRING HER FOOD.

The silver-shaded hybrid was still blissfully unaware of the danger, figuring she would have figured her own way out eventually, if no one had come to get her, and she received Sepirah's presence in the cave with a grin, the sable tip of her tail wavering in the air behind her in a gesture of happiness. “Don't worry about me too much, love,” she said, returning the nuzzle with a fiercely loving one, nudging back against Sepirah happily. Strangely, the old hybrid was glad to have all this hustle about her so early in the morning -- China's soft voice drew her attention, and she barked a brief hello, moving past Sepirah and Kesho toward the entrance of the cave, expecting them to follow her out. She was abruptly stopped, however, by the sounds of Gabriel's irritation, paused half-in and half-out of the cave, unable to retreat back into her cave for the faces there and unable to set foot outside of the cave for the verbal reaming she was in the process of receiving. Sable-shaded ears, one whole and one half-chewed, flicked backwards, standing at half-mast. Beyond, this, however, the old coyote kept her face perfectly still, smooth and free of discernible emotion -- such was the advantage in one's face being covered with scar tissue. Talitha spoke once to her defense, but otherwise, an uneasy silence had seemed to fall over the coyotes.

When he'd seemed to have finished his tirade, the hybrid stood, all puckish glee regarding the incident evaporated. Her gaze did not move from the spot where Gabriel had stood moments before; instead, she moved slowly from the cave, face still set in that indeterminate expression. Talitha spoke again, but the words were lost on Kaena, whose entire concentration was focused in keeping her composure. “Thank you for digging me out,” she said, speaking in a general manner to those who were left once Talitha had finished addressing her. With that, she turned and began walking, though not in the direction on the mansion. Eventually, she would go, as she knew they were right -- there was no doubt of that in the Centurion's mind. The cave life was no longer suitable for her, and she would have to consider a permanent move to the mansion, even if she did not go right away. Still, the coyote would not be seen walking that way; she would not have them all think she had been put in her place. Aquila or not, she had delivered Gabriel to this world, and she deserved more respect than he'd shown her. Instead, the scarred woman headed toward the beach, intending to roundabout the caves and head for the mansion that way. It would be a longer route, and difficult through the snow, but the coyote did not care. If she froze to death, it would show him.

She'd never been good at confrontation, and seeing Gabriel's usually concealed temper made the slender Fae girl reel back onto her haunches in shock. It seemed the only one who had the mind enough to chide the Aquila for his actions was her daughter, the same woman who had in fact chided China herself. Eggshell blue eyes widened at her, but it seemed Gabriel didn't care to put her in her place, for he had long since marched crossly away.

This same confused gaze travelled to the old woman in question, who appeared remarkably calm in the face of her son's outburst. Wide eyes blinked at her grandmother, looking for a reaction that simply wasn't there. It continued to, and perhaps always would, baffle her, the way these coyotes and red-blooded Infernians had so adapted their twisted souls to such harsh words and thoughts. It was nothing like Juniper Peace, but China was not an idiot, and she had long since accepted that cold fact.

It was now Kaena's turn to exit scene, but she walked in with an air of fragile glass, and the empathically-talented girl could see beyond the cracks in her grandmother's mask of nonchalance. There was deep emotion churning there, which left untapped would fester cruelly. After such a near scare, it was obvious that the old woman should not be off by herself - China had spent enough time in her presence to know of the woman's fearless pride, and the thought that she might injure herself in an attempt to prove something to her son was a difficult concept for the hippie to swallow. Her cerulean gaze turned back to the gathering, looking to see those who might be just as baffled as herself. "Well... I'll go with her, and take her back to the Mansion, I suppose... Could somebody clear out a room for her there?" Voice asked of the gathering gently, offering them a small smile (including the pretty woman who had snapped at her, for there was no room for petty grudges in her fickle heart) before her light paws took to the snow.

The slender coyote streaked after her grandmother, and feeling the movement of the slender rolled joints beneath her bandages, she knew just how to ease the matriarch's mind. "Omi, wait up for me!"

ooc: Last post for Sepirah. WC: 320

Sepirah smiled as she got a nuzzle back from her grandmother. She was glad to see that she was doing alright. She still want to make sure she would know where her grandmother was going to stay so that she would be able to check up on her and make sure she was really alright. The dark princess watched as Kaena passed by her and began to thank the others who had came out, until she came to her uncle. She did not like the temper that had awaken in Gabriel and hated the way that he was treating her after her rescue. It was not her fault she got trapped. Any other member of the pack could have been trapped and it would have been just the same. She gave him a low growl before moving out of the den and watching her grandmother speak with her cousin before leaving. She wasn’t sure what to do now. The jackal saw that China was following Kaena so it seemed she was not needed anymore. She stretched out her limbs before leaving the scene.

Sepirah yawned as she made her way around the caves. She wanted to make sure that no one else had been buried inside their homes like her grandmother was. Once she was sure that no one else was snowed in, she left the caves and began to survey the damage that Inferni had taken from the snowstorm. It looked like it was going to take them a while to recover from the damage, but the dark princess was just glad that Kaena was able to get out of her home safely. She emitted a small yawn before heading back to her own home. She brushed all the snow out of the entrance and curled up in the back, pulling her blanket over her. She gave a small smile before closing her eyes and going back to rest.
