WC: 309 OOC: This is also up for anyone else who wants to join in. I don’t think we will have post order unless Meg says so. Set February 9

Niro and his family were safely escavated out of their cave and had been escorted to the hotel where they would temporarily stay until the snows stopped. They had stopped but in the rush of everything, Niro saw that repairs were needed to more things than his cave. He found himself in the area where he had first came to over a year back, on a little boat with his sister. He sighed wondering what would have happened ot him if he had stayed in Florida instead of coming here. He didn’t want to think about it. He turned his head to the cabin that he’d first spotted when they came to the shores of Cour des Miracles. Yet… it wasn’t there. Niro’s heart fell and he hurried over to the old cabin which now was nothing but a pile of rubble.

Niro knew that this was a place of importance, and it hurt his heart to see that it wasn’t there. He stepped over the rubble to assess the damage. It didn’t look good. Niro couldn’t help but stand in the middle of the damage feeling some sorrow, when Vigilante finds out, he will not be happy, was Niro’s thought. He couldn’t think of how the wolf dog would react to seeing this mess. He started moving through the rubble, slowly because of the open nails. He started picking up wood that could possibly be reused, but most of it was impossible. Niro sighed trying to figure out what he should do. He needed Vigilante for a decision on what to do. Looking over at the view that the cabin had he took a breath and howled for the leader himself, and others that were willing to help. He couldn’t do this alone. He couldn’t think of taking any decisions on a landmark as famous as this one.

Amaranth walked through the snow her cat laying across her neck like a scarf. It was cold and she was tired and she wanted to see what the storm had left them. She wore a long sweater like dress that kept her warm and of course matched with her cat scarf she was nice and warm. She smiled stroking the cat gently. She loved her cat it was firefly who showed her cats who made her find that she enjoyed what they gave to them.

Amaranth walked along the path that her feet knew so well. It was the cabin that cabin where she had met the woman firefly. The women who told her about the man that attacked her, the man who had raped both of them. The man who's eyes had cause her nightmares. She loved going to the cabin. It gave her a chance to feel young and she always took time to clean up the ground and keep it neat. What if Firefly returned then her cabin would be ready for her.

One foot after the other she drew closer and closer the smile on her face held strong knowing in moments she would be there. The cabin that she had associated with fun and she would always love this place. She wasn't prepared for what this storm had brought her she was ready for what she would see.

Purple eyes fell on a sea of destruction. Her eyes fogged as she looked at the wreckage. "No." She said to her self. This just couldn't be happening. Running down to the wreckage she looked around. It was all gone all of it she couldn't believe it. It wasn't even until she heard her mate howl did she really notice that there was anyone over here.

Though the storm had been devestating and dangerous, the King realized that there had been minimal damage. Trees had been ripped from the ground and some of the houses in Lunenburg had been destroyed, but the hotel had remained standing with minimal problems and the stables were standing, the horses safe. He had notied that the iron fence surrounding the hotel had sustained a good deal of damage, but he knew that those things could be repaired. The Blacksmith would work on that as soon as time permitted. What was important was ensuring that everyone was safe. Thankfully, his daughter, her mate, and her mate's daughter had been found. The King was so terribly grateful for that. Unfortunately, Kambujiya still had not turned up... The dog mutt did hope that he was somewhere safe or that he had been taken in by someone else, as long as he was not dead—anything would be preferrable to that.

Now that the storm was seemingly over and they were left without only the aftermath of winter's rage, the King found himself venturing farther away from the hotel where his mate and sons were safe to look over all the damage that had been done to the pack's territory. He was not the only one to be doing so, he realized as the sound of the Huntsman's call for him and for anyone else in addition to come. The male's heart leapt in his chest. What if Niro had found one of their pack members, taken as a victim by the storm? The King took a moment to calm himself and then set off in the direction of the howl, moving quickly and with purpose. It was only as he drew nearer that he realized where the source of the howl had come from. Firefly's Cabin was a landmark for the pack, though he had joined only shortly after it ceased being used to shelter the founding members. Though only one of the founding members, Haven, remained, the King knew that this was an important place for the Miracles pack.

The devestation was obvious; the cabin was torn down entirely, pieces thrown far and near. Jade eyes scanned over the wreckage sadly. Though he had hardly known Firefly and she was no longer a member and was not likely to return, this was extremely sad. To see the original place of the pack's formation so damaged beyond repair added a terrible weight to his heart. "This place is so important to our pack... We should clean it up, and mark the spot," he spoke to both. Amaranth, he knew, had been close to Firefly; this was likely very hard for her.

The first to join him was his mate, and it broke his heart to see the expression on her face. She seemed so devastated. She didn’t know the relationship that she had with the woman that had once lived in this cabin. He moved carefully towards her and gave her shouler a squeeze when he heard someone else coming up. It was the king and he seemed to have that same expression on his face. It was the expression of utter loss, something that should never have been lost but was. He listened to the kings words and Niro silently nodded. He started picking up the pieces. And finding a nice safe spot for them.

I knew this place was special, perhaps you can tell me the story? I only know bits and pieces.

Niro said as he moved a large plank of wood out of the way. His sister had not told him the story, in fact it was not in the diary that she had found, mostly because the wolf who had it had not came ashoer with everyone else. Niro wanted to know the grand significance of this place, and thought it would be best to ask now while they worked, though he didn’t want to bring up anything hurtful to the two wolves who knew such significance.

Amaranth looked at all the rumble she couldn’t believe how destroyed firefly’s cabin was. She Walked through the rubble picking up a piece looking it over. ”It can’t be rebuilt, that’s so terrible. There’s just no way. “ She said as she looked at Niro and then her dad. So much cleaning was needed here.
Amaranth sighed as she looked around firefly was the one who helped her. Firefly was her first friend, it just sucked being here. ”Dad there is a wolf in the pack who built her own house right. Could we do that this spring do you think that we can build a house here?” She asked as she roamed around. She slowly began picking things up. ”How are we going to clean everything up? Where are we going to put everything.” She asked as she looked at her father. She just couldn’t figure out what they were going to do.

Vigilante had been a member of the Miracles pack since very soon after it had been formed, as the pack had not even been officially a pack for a month yet when he had joined. He had not been a part of the group that had called this cabin their first residence and he had not been a member of the small group of wolves and dogs that had brought this pack to life. He knew the story of this place, though it was only a minimal amount of knowledge. Still, it was something by way of information, even if it was not filled with detail. He watched gravely as Amaranth walked through the destruction, sadness filling the wise jade eyes. It pained him to see her so upset and he would have done anything to fix it completely if he could.

"I joined the pack when it was only three or so weeks old, so I was not one of the founding members and heard this from another," he said in answer to Niro's question. "Jacquez, Haven, Ruri, Firefly, and Svara were the founding members of the pack. Before the pack officially claimed land, however, all five of them lived in this cabin while they planned for a pack for misfits. It seems impossible to think that this cabin, the foundation for our pack, is gone," he continued with a sad shake of his head. Truly, he did not know much more than that of the place; he had simply known of its significance.

The pack had come together to build Anann her cabin, he knew, and it had been successful. Amaranth's request did not seem so strange when he thought of that, though he knew that it would be difficult and it would take a great deal of planning. "Perhaps we could consider trying to rebuild it. It would not be the same," he warned, "but we could try if you would like to, Amaranth. Perhaps we should bring as much of the salvagable wood here back to the hotel and store it in one of the unused rooms, so that we may incorporate as much of the original structure as possible if we are able to rebuild it," he suggested, looking to both younger canines for their thoughts on that matter.

Niro stopped moving wood for a second while Amaranth noted her despair over the cabin. He set down whatever he had and moved to his mate, putting a hand on her shoulder. He knew it must have been hard for her. Much of her childhood had been torn away from her, and even the smallest of things could break her down. He knew she was upset when Firefly had left, though she was still living with her parents at that time, so he could imagine what she felt like when the house was torn apart.

If you want I can build up a plan, I may need your help I’ve never been inside of it. We could try to rebuild it exactly the way it looked before the storm came.

Niro suggested. He too liked the idea of using whatever salvageable pieces they could. It would at least keep a little of the old spirit alive. There would be a lot to do, but best thing was to gather up what they could salvage. The story had been short, but he wasn’t expecting something too long, and drawn out, it just gave him a better idea of this particular place… the place that dreamt of what could be for those who did not fit into their own family or in anywhere in particular. Niro had not fit in at Florida, and now he was here, in this pack, a loyal subject willing to give his life to the pack he loved just as he would give his life for his sister or his daughters.

Amaranth looked at both her father and mate. So she would maybe get a chance to rebuild this home. “Alright” She said as she looked at her mate who came over to comfort her. She was glad for his comfort and care but she knew that they had to get going on cleaning this place up.

“That sounds great now we just need to move all the good stuff and get the bad stuff together and maybe have a celebration using the wood for a fire.” She said turning the bad to good. She smiled looking around “I can’t wait until spring.” She said starting to clean up. She wasn’t so sad anymore she was excited to see what the future had instore for her.

The decision had been made and the King was glad that they had chosen to do it, for Amaranth’s sake. He nodded to Niro, grateful for the suggestion. “I had never been inside, either, but it would be good to make a plan that we can use in the spring when we begin the process of rebuilding it.” He had never been close to Firefly, or truthfully to any of the founding members, and he had never even been this close to the cabin. It had been an important structure, but it was not somewhere he had gone often. Amaranth would be able to help Niro, though.

The dog mutt lifted a long board in his mouth and brought it a distance away, laying it down gently. “We can put the salvageable wood here,” he suggested, “and the rest over there for use for something else, perhaps a fire like Mara suggested.” This was indicated with a nod of his great head a distance away from where he stood. They would figure out the best way to transport it later. For now, it would be good to make sure it was all separated.
