Start to make it better

It was still hard to understand and accept what had happened merely days ago. No canine lives had been lost however, and this was what settled the autumn shaded alpha as he paced along these well known paths through Dahlia’s tranquil territory. Days were busier than usual, for Conor’s home had been partly destroyed in the wild blizzard. Things could probably be rebuilt, but the alpha, young as he was, held no current skills in rebuilding a home. This fact did not discourage him, of course, but it was a disadvantage he was well aware of and disliked.

For now the male believed he was solidly alone, and allowed himself to enjoy this breath of fresh air without creatures surrounding him. Never had the male lived in solitude—he had always been surrounded by canines of various ages, and things had not changed since they had found shelter in Saluce’s home. Things would remain this way as well, because he had a family now, a child that was his own and the lovely female that was his daughter’s mother. It was nice to get away sometimes though, although there seemed to be silent whispers stalking the area whenever known life was absent around him.

The snow remained deep, but the male always appreciated exercise where he could get it, even if it eventually turned into an amount that turned it into an unhealthy burden instead. Perhaps he liked keeping himself busy so that he could not ponder about fears that never quite seemed to leave him be.

Eclipse was bored. So very bored, and staying inside wasn’t doing her any good, though her mommy told her it was so she didn’t get sick. Eclipse had other ideas. She saw her daddy leaving and soon found herself outside with him. She wasn’t in trouble if she were following her daddy was she? She didn’t think so. She had to make sure she was not heard though, or else he would send he back into the house, and she didn’t want that. She wanted to play. He was making a nice path through the snow, that went way over the puppy's head, so she followed his tracks. He was going to be so surprised! It wasn’t time for her to let him know she was there yet though.

Eclipse thought she was doing a very good job at being quiet as she followed her daddy through the snow. His path was the best because it had less snow on it. She followed him, watching the wave of his tail. She wondered where he was off to but as she got ever so slightly closer she couldn’t help but think… Daddy’s tail is perfect prey!! She wiggled her own tail a little but she never gave herself the right opportunity. That’s what it was all about. Opportunity! She kept following him, her bi colored eyes staring straight at her target. Then, thinking she had the right moment, she jumped.

Gotcha daddy!!

It did not take long for the adult to realize that he was being followed. He refused to turn around though, for he would then ruin “the element of surprise” for the little form stalking his wandering form. A soft smile entered his lips, for he could not resist the cheeky child trailing him. She was doing well at such a young age, but it was the white matter coating the ground that betrayed her, offering him fragments of soft “thud, thud” noises as loose snow was crushed under her puppy paws. He believed he knew what was about to happen soon, and anticipation soared under his caramel coated fur that his daughter had adopted.

And then it happened; a young voice roared victoriously as he felt her pounce at his white tipped tail. ”Oh no!” he uttered, faking a little jump in surprise. Turning quickly to the rude little thing, Lavender orbs seemed almost round as he put on the theatrical look of shock. Why you little-- A deep, playful growl rose up his throat as his nose darted after her furball form, aiming to poke and nuzzle the loveliest thing he had ever had the pleasure to meet.

WC: 182 OOC: Big Grin such a good daddy :3

Eclipse giggled in triumph as she felt his tail for a second, but then he turned around, surprised to see that she’d been following him! She couldn’t help but give him a triumphant grin, but fell backwards as he came at her playfully. His nose found itself on Eclipse’s belly as she fell back.

Oh no Daddy!

Eclipse giggled wiggling away from him. The snow caught in her fur as she wiggled away. Once she was sure she was at a safe distance from her daddy’s tickling whiskers she rolled back on her feet, her front now spread out in front of her in play.
Where ya goin daddy?

She asked looking up at him. She admired her parents very much and hoped that she would grow up to be just like both of them. She had no preference in which one, but she was a very happy puppy indeed. She bounced closer, but then fell back, ready to play with him even though she didn’t know if he had anything more important to do… what could be more important than play?

Oh no, daddy retaliated! The girl’s laughter danced out through her adoring smile, pearly and twinkling with a child’s magic. She little form of chocolate and cream wriggled away from him, her furry form turning paler with crystallised rain. He contemplated following the energized form, but decided to let his daughter escape. The father knew that his daughter would go nowhere as long as she had a parent’s attention. Soon, the girl swivelled around and took a playful pose. Lilac eyes narrowed slightly, and the male crouched slightly in response to the young child’s playful figure. How lovely she was—it was unthinkable that he had once wanted Bris to end the breath of life that had settled in her womb.

Now, where had he been headed to? ”Getting breakfast for my hungry girls!” he revealed, a genuine, adoring smile softening up his young face. He hoped some of the traps had managed to catch prey before the worst of the snow had covered them. There were a total of ten traps, placed at very different locations to improve the success of a catch. ”Do you want come along and help daddy?” he asked, noticing that he spoke of himself in third person. He liked the role of a father, though she was not the first young soul he had helped raise. It was not the same though, for he was his first biological child and he had been there when she was born. She was his.

Also... is there a way to get it so the words are a bit darker than the table itself, I can barely read this :O

She was able to make it away in time, and it made her all the more happy, but when he mentioned food her tail started going like crazy. She had always wanted to learn how to hunt, and she wondered what he did to catch his food. So this was much more important than play!

Can I help too? I wanna hunt too I can catch somefing!!

She didn’t know how her father got their food, but she thought it was the old way, stalking the prey and catching it, and she wanted to make him proud by being able to catch something as well, sure… she was small but so were rabbits. She looked at her daddy with her big round blue-purple eyes and begged, though she knew she didn’t even have to do that much.

I can get it like I gawt your tail! Cept I won’t let it go!

She said, sure that he would agree to let her do some of the hunting too with the great work she did with her previous attack. She knew she was a hunter at heart, she just had to prove herself, no matter if she had baby teeth or not. She would make her mommy and daddy proud! This was her chance to do it too!

Head tilted at her eager words. Well, one could always use a helping hand. Smile remained as the father’s muzzle nodded at these words. Of course she could help if she wished to. The girl’s personality was coming along well, and already at this young age she seemed compassionate and wished only the best for the wolves around her. She reminded the man of her mother, and there were few with a soul in the same shades as Bris’. It was breathtaking to think that he had helped create such a little miracle.

”Daddy would like that,” he spoke, a soundless laugh in his voice as he turned slightly to gaze at the direction he had been going until a hunting child had interrupted his pace. Another row of words escaped the little form, and he let out the soft chuckle this time, looking to his cream coated daughter with love apparent in subtle lavender. ”My daughter the hunter.” It was not likely that she would get to chase after live prey today, but he assumed she would get some entertainment out of a visit to the traps either way.

”Come on then, ‘Clipse,” he cooed, starting to wade through now, though making certain that he left a trail that could make it easier for her to follow. White tipped tail moved contently behind the leader’s lupus form, for it was impossible to be in a foul mood with this child nearby.

WC:246 OOC: sorry for the wait ; ; <3

She smiled and puffed out her little chest as he mentioned her as a hunter. Yes she was! And she’d do a good job! She nodded at his comment, yes she was a hunter and she’d prove it, if not today then tomorrow, and so on, she’d keep trying. She knew that daddy was a hunter, and that he always brought home food for all of them. Or at least tried to, but she could not remember a day without food, then again she didn’t remember her whole life even as short as it was.

He began moving and she started bounding behind him, this time jumping in the paw prints that he made as he trudged through the snow, he made it easy for her to follow him, and she had no intentions of going in the deeper part, she was curious, but she’d learned early on it was best not to jump into deep snow. She’d gotten herself out, but it was quite hard, and she almost panicked when she felt herself sinking further and further through the snow. Now she had her daddy to make sure that she didn’t have that problem, so she didn’t mind keeping her young eyes on his tail, as they moved along. She knew she’ll get her chance to prove herself, but she was anxious and his tail was swaying, so she decided to jump at it rather than his paw prints, missing it most of the time.

The man’s golden tail trashed about behind the alpha’s moving form, almost challenging the girl that playfully continued to jump at it as she followed in his track. Contentment was vivid in the male’s heart, and current fears and worries were temporarily put aside so that he could continue to enjoy this moment with his daughter. Even from blinding white distance, the man could see that there was nothing in the first trap, and merely continued without further inspection. On the second one, however, a frozen rabbit was swaying slowly from the gentle breaths of cold.

”Look, Eclipse,” the father said, pointing his muzzle at the life less creature. ”We have caught a rabbit!” He could not see how harvesting dead prey could be exciting alone, but it was his shore to spice it up a bit for her. Trotting through the snow and over to the creature, he considered shifting into his optime form. It was a process that required amounts of energy that the male could not really spare at the moment. Hesitating for only a little, the male balanced his weight on his hid legs and reached for the thin thread of sinew that kept the dead animal above the ground.

Teeth grinded and pulled and the fibre did not resist heavily before it snapped. It was never meant to be able to support the greater weight of a wolf. Holding on to the line, the Dahlian male shook his head slightly and let the dead animal sway a few inches above the ground as he turned to let his daughter see their prize.

WC: 317 OOC: can’t believe you ninja posted me :O

Eclipse loved it when she found her paws touched her daddies tail or even her mouth, but she never ever pulled on it or anything, she was too afraid he’d pick her up and bring her right back home if she did and she wanted to hunt! She heard him speaking about getting a catch and as soon as she saw the lifeless rabbit her daddy reached up and grabbed it, snapping the rope. That looked so easy! He was so strong, but it seemed the rabbit was already dead and she didn’t have to hunt it. That was slightly disappointing, but she watched as it swayed in his mouth and she soon became transfixed and waited for a second before running at it and grabbing for it. She wanted to make sure it was dead even though it had been obvious that it was quite lifeless.

Can I bring it daddy?

She asked giving up on trying to catch it in her mouth, she was sure it was already dead or her daddy would have surely not let it live for so long either. Her mouth watered at being so near the food, but she was not really hungry, she just liked the look and smell of food. How could anyone not? Eclipse did want to help out anyway. If the animals were al going to be dead then what point did she have to help other than carry this rabbit? She looked up at her daddy giving him a face that she knew made it hard for him to resist her. Her best puppy dog face was always reserved for him.

I will take good care of it! I pwomise!

She said, adding on to make sure he knew she was serious. Her tail wagged quickly, but not too fast, she wanted to be sure he knew she was excited but not exactly how excited.

Derp :O

A live animal would have been better for the girl, but she did not disappoint him. She never did. It did not take long before she pounced at the frozen corpse hanging from his mouth. The father’s autumn shaded tail was left in peace for now, but continued to move with the satisfaction he received just by being in the presence of his young daughter. So blue eyed and sweet. Had there been a time where a rabbit’s still body could have created an explosion of excitement and play? There were so few font memories that he had brought with him from his childhood. All he remembered was pain and fear, and her. But Alexey was gone and would not return. What had made her think of her now all of a sudden?

It was not possible to deny her when she asked. The girl would be so ridiculously spoiled growing up. And the child knew how to make her parents give into her wishes. Bris and Conor knew this too, but it did not mean that they were able to resist her. Releasing the dead animal, he smiled at the Soulstorm girl, nodding. ”Of course you can. You’re a hunter like your dad, after all.” She was too young to be able to participate in a proper hunt yet. All she was likely to do was to scare away the animal before they ever managed to draw close enough to spot it. But he knew that he would make attempts anyway, if the girl wished to hunt with her parents.

”I hope it’s not too heavy for you, ‘Clipse,” he added, one edge of his mouth curling wryly with anticipation.

OOC: Sorry so short ; ; still love me oookkkk?

Eclipse couldn’t believe he said it was ok! She couldn’t help but wiggle in excitement as he dropped the prize in front of her. Eclipse hurried to pick it up, but it was rather awkward. That wasn’t going to stop her though! She had tried to pull it along her side at first, but that didn’t work, so she tried picking it all the way off the ground but that didn’t work... she was too short but it gave her another idea and she started moving forward, the rabbit slid between her legs, it wasn’t the most comfortable thing in the world but it felt... natural. Yes she could carry it, though for how long did not cross her mind. She stopped and turned around letting the rabbit go for a second so that she could talk.

“Coming daddy?”

She asked and then picked the rabbit back up ready to go to the next trap. She was so very happy to be spending alone time with her daddy, and helping him out. He was teaching her, that’s what she thought at least. Even with the snow this was turning out to be a very good day.
