p. for Eclipse Soulstorm; Whisper Beach; Talitha is being a creeper at the border. ILU SHAWMON.

She was sick. She had to have been, moving so willingly to the edges of the filthy land that haunted her memories. So willingly to the edge of the snow-covered beach where her childhood ended and the world turned grey. Dahlia de Mai was a place she tried to avoid, a place she tried to ignore. A place she hated so much. Yet she was there, staring across the borders at the snow-topped sands. Shadows fell over her eyes, sending her mind back to the war, watching the scene she had lived through years before. Haku, Andrezej, Gabriel, everything blurred into a final giant, a wall of black that sent a shiver down her spine.

Her toes dug into the snowy ground, keeping her rooted across the border. It was unholy ground, but something in her chest ached to pass over onto the forbidden land. Her childhood was lost, and keys to finding it were smothered by her own inability to cope with history. Dahlia certainly proved a viable resource. A viable, and volatile, resource. She huffed out a sigh, tail swishing to the side and fingers curling against the padded palms of her hands. Relations were unknown to the russet woman, but she could only imagine they were bad. Breaking a silent code would mean trouble. Trouble that she didn't want to cause for her family.

"It looks different, somehow." Her whispers were to comfort herself, crimson gaze focused solely on the claimed lands before her. The world had changed since her time away, and the pack who had opposed her home was no different. Still, her ghosts remained there, wandering before her in solemn silence.

WC: 315 OOC: YAY!!!

Eclipse found herself further from her family now, well she should say, as usual. She was sure there would be a watchful eye on her somewhere. For now she was surprised that she hadn’t found herself caught in one problem or another. The day was still young though; there was plenty to get into. She found herself near the shore and closing in on the boarders, but she was not paying attention to that, in fact she was racing the waves that were coming back and forth on the freezing sand. She would always make sure her feet never touched the water at all. It was a fun little race and sometimes she had to really run so that the waves didn’t get her at all. She was distracted from that as all puppy minds were, when she saw a figure standing near the borders looking over the lands.

Who’re you

The brave puppy asked trotting close to the strange looking creature on the borders. She looked kind of like daddy but there was something off about the woman in front of the pup. She kept her eyes on the woman, her tail out straight, and her ears perked in curiosity. She wanted to get to know this strange person, but she had instincts still and they were telling her to keep her guard up. She showed no signs that she was accepting this strange wolf creature, but she didn’t look remotely hostile either. She was a puppy after all so she knew little about being territorial. For now at least, though that would come when she learned more about the history of her pack, and see her daddy working, but right now she was still the curious little thing, hoping not to get into too much trouble, or knowing she’d at least get out of most of the trouble she got into.

Sorry for the late! <3

Her attention was wrapped up in childhood memories, and reality didn't seem to stick to her brain. She didn't notice the rolling waves. She didn't notice the clouds overhead. She didn't notice the appearance of a sandy brown pup with the most remarkable blue eyes. It wasn't until the younger female's voice broke the monotony of sounds around her that she realized anyone else was there. Who're you? The Lykoi's crimson eyes blinked rapidly, searching the area for an adult before looking to the ground. Puppies hit a soft spot in the heart of the coymutt, though she hadn't managed to have any of her own.

In a fluid movement, she crouched before the child, tucking her curling locks behind her ears. "My name is Talitha Lykoi," she murmured, placing her arms around her knees. She smiled, a faint expression that felt misplaced to the mind of the Inferni princess. The child didn't seem concerned, or even wary, of the russet female who stood on the opposing side of the border. Her guard was up, but she wasn't cowering. Talitha's tail swished from side to side in amusement. "I just came to see the beach. I came here once, a few years ago." She made it sound so casual.

Carefully, she plopped down on the ground, sitting so she could be closer to the pup's level. "And who are you, little princess?" she asked. Her ears swiveled about in order to catch the sounds of other creatures moving about nearby them. Her crimson eyes stayed upon the adorable face before her, mind shifting to the mind of an aunt or mother. It wasn't her place, but something inside of her brain ran along the line of wanting to entertain the young girl, or at least hold conversation.

WC:331 OOC: silly lil girl’s 10th post Big Grin

Eclipse watched the woman with curious eyes. She was different than the wolves she was use to yes, but she had the same thing they did, so she was not one to judge too harshly. She watched the woman move her hair, such pretty hair, she wanted to touch, but that was personal boundaries, and Eclipse knew enough about those… sometimes. For her parents there were no boundaries but with strangers like this one she wasn’t going to bound into their lap and play with her hair. The woman sat down and asked who Eclipse was, but called her a princess, something she was not use to be called by a stranger, but she wasn’t going to argue, no ma’am she could be called princess by anyone for all she cared.

My name is ecwipse Soustorm.

Yes she couldn’t say her own name right, but she was only two months old and that’s how she said it. She would eventually come to say it properly like many of the other words that she messed up but she wasn’t thinking about that she was thinking about how the woman was visiting the beach. Eclipse had gotten a peek at it a few times but the water’s motion made her feel slightly sick whenever she moved too close to it.

Whas so special about the beach?

The little girl asked, for all she knew this was the only beach in the whole world and that’s why Talitha came to visit it… what other explanation could there have been? But Eclipse knew that the strange looking woman was out of luck. The water was way too cold to just walk into, and swim around, though Eclipse had never known a warm day in her life. There wasn’t much more to it than getting wet was there? Nothing would be stupid enough to live inside the water, especially when it was that cold, so Eclipse was quite intrigued to hear the story behind this visit.

The cuteness!

The charming lack of ability when it came to pronouncing certain consonants made Talitha grin. She lacked experience with pups, but found them so adorable that it was hard to resist sitting for a talk. So she waited, and she listened, and her smile remained as she watched the young lady feed her curiosity. The Lykoi had low expectations for her own chances at motherhood; what would she do with children if she managed to have some, anyways? Her need for something warm and living and needing was sated by brief encounters with other people's children.

"Whats so special about the beach?"

Nothing. Nothing was special about that beach, the filthy beach on the lands of filthy wolves, but there was no need to upset the little Dahlian princess with her babbling lunacy. "Don't you know, little Eclipse? Beaches are the windows to the world. From the ocean, you can go anywhere you want," she offered, turning her gaze out past the surf. She didn't know if it was true. Myron had said it was, and he had come from across the sea, but she hadn't even really left the land that stretched around them. Sure, she had lived with Faolin far from Inferni and yes, she had been born across the mountains, but she knew better than to think her home was outside of the small territory the coyotes had claimed. Others had come from different lands, and others escaped across the surf. Talitha smiled a faint smile and looked back to the young girl before her.

"I came here once, when I was very young. Older than you, but still not quite old." It was repitition. She had already told the child she had visited once, but the woman's mind had slipped that recent memory easily, turned back to the forgotten childhood she experienced. "I actually...can't remember much from when I was that young," she whispered.

WC: 311 OOC: >.> yep… I don’t believe you crazy, it’s here I swear!

Eclipse listened as the female explained, then she looked at the way of the sea incredulously then back at the woman and scowled. That was absolutely impossible. No one would stay in the water much further than the knees. She seriously thought the woman had gone crazy, that she lost something in her head because that notion was absolute rubbish in Eclipse’s mind.

You cwazy, is cold water! You can’t swim that and be fwee!

Yes that is exactly what Eclipse thought of the woman… she was definitely crazy. Then to prove her insanity she started mumbling some jumbo… younger than Eclipse? Impossible! No one could have been this youn and she not know about it, but it did make her curious as to why she said that she’d been here before. Did she like visiting this place often? Was she just really crazy and think that she use to be this young, whatever the reason, she wanted to hear the answer.

Why did you come here, you don’t live here do you?

Eclipse asked as she tilted her head to the side in confusion. She wondered what the woman would have done if she were as young as Eclipse. She had not really met any puppies quiet yet, but she wanted to. For now she was happy with this woman even if she was crazy.

Bet you tried to jump in that water huh? It’s really cold, I won’t do it! Nu uh!

She said, she had her mind set on the fact the woman must have meant swimming, there was no other way to go around the ocean was there? If there was she didn’t know about it… yet. She wanted to know how the ocean could be the window to the rest of the world, but she didn’t think she would get a correct answer from this woman.

It was clear that the little Dahlian princess didn't believe the Infernian's wild tale about the ocean as a gateway to the world. In fact, she spurted out that Talitha was crazy. The maturing coyote laughed, shaking her head from side to side and tossing russet curls back and forth. The conversation was light and enjoyable, until the natural curiosity of any puppy reached the mind of the one before her. "Why did you come here, you don't live here do you?" The Lykoi's crimson eyes turned toward the earth in silence. Why was always a good question. What had taken her from the internal warmth that Inferni brought her? And why had she sought comfort in the shores of Dahlia de Mai? A subtle smile worked its way across her features. "No, I don't live here. I live up north," she explained, turning so slightly to point in the direction of Inferni's shores and forest. The coymutt assumed that little Eclipse was far too young to understand what Inferni was, or that Inferni and Dahlia de Mai were not friends, and it left her feeling safe to talk honestly with the child. There was no fear of rejection.

"Bet you tried to jump in that water, huh?" A laugh escaped the russet fae. "Well, it was much warmer when I was here last. There was no snow, and the water was quite nice." July. Years ago, in July, she had been standing on the warm sands of Whisper Beach, watching the waves crash against the shore and the stars twinkle overhead. So long ago, back when she was still young and still whole. Time had ticked away since then, and she knew that she was far from the youthful shell she had started at. Even if she couldn't remember a childhood with her mother and her father, she knew that once she had been happy and that now she was not. "I didn't come here to swim, though," she admitted, looking past the cinnamon blob of adorable fur. She had come for some undefined reason that circled around her own needs for resolution that would never come.

Instead of dwelling on her own sorrow, she looked to the puppy and hoped to banish her morose thoughts. "And why did you come here? Where are your parents?" she asked. It was all she needed, to be found by adults of the filthy wolf pack while talking to their child.

WC: 312 OOC: :3

Eclipse wasn’t really listening anymore, she was bored now. The only thing she wanted to do was figure out why the woman thought it was the doorway to everything, crazy lady. Eclipse thought as she looked back between the woman and the water. Her attention was finally caught when Talitha asked about her being out here and why she was not with her parents.

I came ‘cause I wanted to, and my parents are doing growed up stuffs. I can’t do them yet.

Eclipse said, she was sure her father was making more traps and her mother… well she was around doing something. Eclipse liked going out on her own, doing her own thing and playing, as far as she knew there were no other puppies in the pack so it was hard to find anything to do with others as they were all much older than her and were able to do grown up things with her parents.

So what’s up north? Are there lots of trees, and snow and stuff?

Eclipse asked thinking of heading up north someday, not today of course, because she was quite content in looking at her own pack lands for the moment. But she was getting closer and closer to the pack borders that soon she would leave them altogether, but that was not now. Now she was interrogating this strange looking, crazy wolf. She was somewhat entertaining enough to keep her attention on… for the most part though some of what she said was really boring to the pack.

Hey does your pack have games? Do you know how to play any?!

She suddenly asked. She had no friends only her parents at the moment so she did not know what to do really. She really only knew wrestling, and most of the time she only did that with her daddy’s tail.

Full of questions, the russet Lykoi listened to the puppy and formulated answers slowly. She didn't want to give the child any false information or fantastic ideals of the world; she had held such things, and her life had failed miserably. So as Talitha waited for information on her parents, who were doing 'growed up stuffs' that Eclipse wasn't able to, she started to list facts the pup might ask for. Of course, when the cinnamon bundle did inquire about the north, she wasn't prepared. "Are there lots of trees, and snow and stuff?" Her head tilted to the side as she thought of the landscape.

"There aren't many trees, though we do have a forest. The waste is just that, a waste. The snow...yes, there is a lot of snow this winter." The snow was piling up in large masses, especially after the storm, but it seemed to be the same everywhere. She tucked auburn curls back, away from her face, as she thought of other things. There wasn't much to Inferni's land that she hadn't already mentioned. The waste, the forest, and some high reaches of land that gave way to valleys.

"Hey, does your pack have games?"

Talitha perked up slightly, blinking once, twice, three times. Games. She hadn't played many games in her childhood, but could remember 'hunting' invisible buffalo with her father present. "We don't...have games, no, but I could learn to play one. I used to practice hunting when I was younger," she whispered. It wasn't a game, she realized now, but it had been back then. And what was fun for one Luperci child must be fun for another, right?

WC: 243 OOC: A lil short :/

There weren’t that many trees? How booring… just snow. She was wondering if that’s all there ever was, was snow, even though the older lady told her that it got warmer she did not understand much of what that meant. So it just sounded rather boring and not such a good place to live but instead aof voicing this she kept herself quiet as her ears perked at the mention of hunting.

Oh I like hunting! I hunted with my daddy before!

She said really excitedly. This brightened the little girl up. She loved everything that delt with food and hunting, and she would find the best things to eat and she would be a cook someday. She rarely ate cooked food now but she’s had some before and she liked it, and thinking about it made her mouth drool a little.

Are you a good hunter? My daddy, he hunts wif traps, but when I gwow up I wanna use my teef.

She had the right idea about hunting and she already knew it took away a life, but she also knew she had to eat, she had never been a day without food, but she had that urge to eat all the time. The drive for food was endless for the little puppy. She would learn how to chase after the animal and feed herself, but she would never kill for the fun of it. That never crossed her mind, ever.

S'all good. She just keeps getting cuter and cuter.

Eclipse seemed excited at the prospect of hunting; apparently it was one thing she enjoyed immensely. The older female smiled at the energy she had. Again, natural instincts to be a mother rose in her chest, but she quelled them with memories. One ear twitched, crimson eyes watching the land behind the child as she started another inquiry. "Are you a good hunter?" Her attention snapped back to the Dahlian princess. The de le Poer lacked in skills commonly found in the normal repertoire of most Luperci, but she'd been practicing. Since watching Ezekiel hunt, she knew she needed to learn.

"I am not a good hunter, no," she murmured, twisting an auburn curl around one fragile russet finger. Even children knew more about the world than she did; it stung a portion of her pride. The news that the girl's father hunted with traps piqued the woman's curiosity, her mood lifting. "He hunts with traps? What sort of traps?" She supposed any knowledge she gathered from Eclipse could be used to benefit Inferni, or at least her brother (who seemed to enjoy hunting with ease). It didn't occur to the Lykoi that a puppy wouldn't know much about the traps themselves; she could always prod the girl for an audience with her father if the need came to be.

WC: 241 OOC: :O I fell asleep typing this XD

She watched as the woman used a long finger to curl her hair and looked at her own paws, wishing she had fingers. Instead she had these pudgy paws that couldn’t do anything… she envied Talitha though she did say she was not very good at hunting and seemed sad about it. Eclipse gave the look of a respectfully sad puppy.

You can learn, you may be old but you not that old!

Eclipse said. She was not trying to slight the woman in anyway, she was just use to speaking her mind. And one of the subjects always went to a wolf’s age and in most cases everyone was old compared to her, and she was comparing everyone to herself. When she was asked about the traps the young girl shrugged. She only saw them she didn’t know how they worked.

I saw lots of rope! But I dunno how he maded them.

Eclipse said. It was all she oculd say, she only remembered the prize it had caught. The juicy rabbit had looked so good and after that it was a blur, the rest of the day so she didn’t notice how the trap itself was made. That was a job for her daddy and not for her at all. Her job was suppose to catch them and make sure they were dead, though she didn’t really get to do that, but maybe she would when she was older.

LOL! Silly tired Shaw.

"You can learn, you may be old, but you're not that old!" The exclamation made the Lykoi break out in a cheerful laughter. No, she wasn't so old that she couldn't learn something knew. It was more the fact that she had never been one who gained new skills so easily. She practiced, but it was all to no avail. Her world was one of dependence rather than knowledge. She was, first and foremost, and artist. A dreamer. Living in a fantasy world instead of the reality that others moved in. Her mind still lurked in 2008, upon the shores of Whisper Beach, where she'd been taken by the monster Haku. Stuck in the past, knew knowledge was hard to come by.

Her curiosity was piqued by the traps she said her father made, and that was where she steered the conversation. Of course, the child didn't seem to know how they were made, but rope was involved. Talitha gave a nod, her smile remaining firm on her features. It was okay for little Eclipse to be oblivious to the construction; she was young, and there would be time for her to learn or make her own way. She locked the fact into the back of her mind, to tell Ezekiel later. It was something she felt he'd enjoy, and it might help with his hunting.

"What do you like to do with your parents?" she asked. She had never been so close to her mother and father, sent away from one at a young age only to run away from the other shortly after. It seemed other puppies experienced a different life, with more love and affection than she could have ever believed possible.

WC:306 OOC: As much as i <3 you... we may have to close it up soon... but maybe another thread wif shaw and whomever!! WE SHALL DOMINATE THE BOARDS!!!! ^^

Eclipse saw the laughter as a sign that she thought what Eclipse said was amusing, though she didn’t mean for it to be that way Eclipse was glad it went that way. How it managed to turn from serious to funny was beyond the pup, but it was changed. In any case the subject had been dropped and a new one pulled up and she couldn’t help but smile wit this one. She loved her mommy and daddy and spent as much time as she could with them. It was hard to pick out what she liked doing best with them so she seemed uncharacteristically quiet for some time.

“My mommy reads to me, and daddy we play chase. Oh and we hunt too… and, and we do all sorts of stuff, I like everything thow.”

She said her tail was again going a mile a minute as she spoke. Her parents were the best, and so was the rest of her pack, though they did not interact as much as she wanted. Saul was really nice, he’d saved them from their house and she met some others in passing though that meant little to the puppy.

“You got a favorite thing to do? Does your mommy and daddy still play with you?”

She suspected the answer to this but hey, life could throw surprises at the pup which she was recently learning all too well. What with the tree and she’d found herself in that dangerous spot when she followed her mommy one night… she could still remember that fire and the panic, but everything turned out ok. The only one in that building had been taken out and she could see that he was sleeping, but he’d woken up since she saw him walking around for a little bit.

YEES. WE SHALL TAKE OVER THE WORLDUH! You can either reply, or you can just assume they went their separate ways. <3

The innocence of the child left Talitha yearning for her youth, back before the war when she still had a family. All that was left were fragmented pieces, broken up by a distant father and traitorous whore of a mother. Talitha needed the only sibling she had, and even that seemed to be failing. Little Eclipse was lucky, the russet female mused, that her mother and father were so loving. Reading and playing chase; it all sounded wonderful to the mind of the older female. Jealousy flared, but was soothed by the thought that she was doing fine as she was. It wasn't the fault of her parents that she came out the way she was. They didn't love her less. Her home was just different.

When she asked a rather surprising question, the woman gave a smile and shook her head. "I have no mommy. Just my daddy, but we don't play games anymore. I paint instead," she murmured, curling her hair tighter about her russet finger. Gabriel had never really 'played'. She had spent her time playing games with herself, hunting fake prey and hearing that she was a princess. At least one part of it stuck. She was, in every way, a princess in her home. She lacked instincts and common skills, and rarely raised a finger unless she really wanted to.

After a moment, she shook her head and rose to her feet. She'd overstayed her welcome, even though she was enjoying the conversation with the young girl. "It's probably time for you to return to your parents, little princess Eclipse. It was very nice to meet you," she said with a smile, brushing auburn curls over her shoulders. Time flew for the Lykoi, more so when she chatted away her hours with someone worthwhile, such as the little girl. With a heavy heart, she turned away, prepared to make the trip back to Inferni.
