WC: 348 OOC: Yes shaw just climbed the side of a building like spider man! RAWR!!!

Things were finally coming together now, the snow had been under control for some time now, and he had finally been happy enough with the situation on thornbury, and he was no preparing to fix the hunting lodge, only because it was to be a huge project. He had already gathered the wood that would be used to replace what had been taken out by the tree that had fallen on it. Today he would actually try to get that tree off if he possibly could.

Though once he got there and saw the downed pine, he wasn’t sure how he would do this himself. He’d brought the tools he needed, and some rope just in case. Well it was possible someone was out here that could help him, but for now he would have to plan a way to do this by himself, so he was standing in front of the lodge thinking, planning judging, and getting ideas for how he would do this. It was no simple task for him, and he knew it, but it had to be done, if they didn’t do it now things would look bad for their storage area, and it was a place for new wolves to live until they found their own place. Shaw finally thought he had a good idea of what to do. So he started tying his tools to a rope, one long enough to not let them dangle as he got to the second floor of the building, but convenient enough to pull up quickly. Then he started climbing little by little, very slowly, because he was not about to break his neck over this. The climb was simple, he was able to use the older logs that had made up the lodge itself, that protruded out, and he was a fairly good tree climber, making it much easier to get up. Once up he had to stop to take a breather, taking his time up here to his advantage and scanning the area, it really was a nice view up here, though quite dangerous.

Since the tree had fallen on the lodge he hadn't been able to work in there as he had before. Not with the snow falling through the roof now. It no longer left the place as warm as it once had been. It had slowed down Ouija's production greatly. He had pretty much cleared out all of his supplies from the lodge. He had yet to find another place to work at so he only did one or two small pelts at a time. Those that he was working on he kept right up close to the fire in hopes to keep the water from freezing. But at least the cold shouldn't last for too much longer, or so he hoped. Once it started warming up he should find a place outside to work. After all he always had to have something to do.

He was inside the lodge, smoking some meat into jerky, when he heard the movement. Well that was rather strange. He glanced up to the roof, wondering if the rest was about to fall in or something. But it wasn't the creaking of last time. No, it sounded more like footsteps this time. Who would be on the roof though? It sounded too large to be any small little critter scampering about. Not that he could think of any little animal that wanted to be out in the snow and on the roof anyways.

He got up and moved away from the fire in order to head outside and see what was going on. He stepped outside and caught a flash of movement on the roof. He couldn't see who it was from where he was at and so he ended up climbing up the protruding logs to find out who it was and what was going on. He found Shaw up on the roof but he had no idea why the other was up there. He wasn't even sure if the other even knew what he was doing up there. "What's going on?" He called out as he pulled himself up on the roof.

It seemed Shaw was not alone in this, as he started pulling up the tools with the rope Ouija was climbing up another part of the roof, to get a look at what Shaw was doing no doubt. Shaw nodded to the mand as he pulled the last of the rope up, holding onto one of the saw’s handles, he’d brought up two just in case.

Hi Ouija, I’m gonna get this tree off the roof, Going to try and repair the damage.

Shaw said as he pulled up the saws gingerly wiping an area clean from the roof as he moved closer to where the damage was, he was lucky so far not to find any ice up here, but he wanted to make sure it was safe enough to work. As he got closer to the edge of the damaged building it started creaking a bit louder, but he moved slowly and carefully, yes it looked like it would be a hard task…

You can help me if you wish. I’ve got an extra saw, it’ll take a while to get this tree cut up, but I think we can manage it!

Shaw said, hoping the man would help. He knew that Ouija spent much of his time here getting the hides ready to be leather and used. He wished he had gotten to this earlier but there was only so much one wolf could do.

He gave a nod of his head as he was greeted and spoken to. He carefully made his way close. He placed his hands down on the roof so that he could crawl over towards where the other was. "What exactly is it that you need me to do?" He had actually never worked with a saw before. He was more accustomed to working with a knife instead. Then again he had never had any experience with carpentry before. He was willing to try and learn though. He tended to pick up on things quickly enough. Especially since he refused to give up until he had things right. It was probably this persistence that paid off for him.

"How is it that you are planning on getting this tree removed?" He questioned as he looked along the length of the large tree. It was certainly something that wasn't going to be easily shoved out of the way. So he really had no idea how to even begin to go about this. Though with the saw he assumed that it would be cut up but till he didn't see how it was to be moved after that. But again that was his lack of experience in the area as well.

He reached for one of the saws and picked it up, looking it over and examining it. It really was a lot bigger than the instruments that he was used to working with. "Just tell me what it is that you want me to do and I'll do it." He spoke the words as he pulled his gaze away from the saw in order to look up at the other man once again. He was ready and willing to help, to be instructed and taught. He waited for word from Shaw as to what he needed to do to get started.

It seemed that Ouija was eager to help Shaw, which was great, he liked that the man was showing enthusiasm, and knew that he wanted the hunting lodge repaired as much as Shaw wanted it. He crouched on t he roof himself as he almost slipped, his had holding onto the roof so that he would not fall and break his neck, he was sure Sky would kill him if he did such a thing.

well I was hoping to get the tree cut in chunks to where it fell onto the roof, then cut it from the base and hopefully get it off by rolling it off the rest of the roof.

Shawchert said. The tree that had fallen on the roof had not gone all the way through the roof, which relieved Shaw, but the top of it was protruding over the roof which was a hindrance and would have to go before they could pull the rest of the tree off.

So we cut off the top little by little. If you could star a little below me. We probably could do it in one or two goes, but we need to be able to get them off the roof safely.

Shaw said pointing to the tip of the dead tree. He moved slowly over to it, fining a good brace before he started sawing. He thought Ouija had some experience with a saw, he was quite deft with a knife, but thinking about it he knew that not everyone knew what Shaw did, and he stopped for a second.

You know how to use that right?

He asked looking over in Ouija’s direction. He would be glad to teach the man if he didn’t know, it wouldn’t put him too far back into when he wanted this done. He knew he should have worked on this right after the storm but with so much going on it had been the last thing on his mind and he felt bad about it.

Ouija mostly just needed something to do. Something to busy himself with. He always had to have something to work on at all times. He couldn't stand just sitting around with nothing to do. And well, it looked as if Shaw could use some help on this job in the very least. Right now Ouija didn't have anything else to work on so why not help out the other with this larger project? It would certainly get it done faster after all. And well, the building did need repair so that the heat could be trapped inside once again.

He couldn't say that he understood what Shaw meant by the instructions that were given though he figured that he would be able to watch and find. After all Shaw would eventually have to move it off and then he would see just what it was that needed to be done. Ouija learned better when it was something hands on rather than something that was explained to him. That was just how he was taught growing up so he learned better by doing it himself rather than following spoken instructions.

He picked up the extra saw and examined it. He certainly had never used anything such a this before. But it didn't look that difficult to use though. After all there was only one obvious sharp side even if that edge was serrated. Also a glance down to Shaw showed just what to do. He moved to place the teeth of the blade against the tree, just getting them to touch when he was spoke to. "It doesn't seem too difficult. There is only one sharp edge and all you are doing is working it back and forth." He didn't know anything about carpentry but he did know how to use a blade. After all he was able to carve but had never built anything before. Or in this case, destroyed something.

He followed Shaw's lead and started to saw through the tree. Occasionally he would glance over at the other male though. After all he wanted to keep track of where he was at in the project so that he could witness the next step after the piece had been sawed off. He understood the sawing of the pieces well enough but he had no idea how it was expected to not fall through what was left of the roof and cause even more damage. That was the exact reason why he kept on glancing over at Shaw. To see how Shaw would manage that part of it so that he would know just what to do when the time came for it. After all once he knew all of the steps involved he could work more efficiently and they could hopefully have this done within the day. And even if not entirely done then perhaps mostly? Or at least clearing away the tree even if the hole couldn't be patched up just yet. Still, he just wanted to get as much done as possible within the day.

He started working first and Ouija followed his lead. He looked new at it but not incompetent. Shaw never thought the man in such a way but one never knew. They worked in silence, taking off little by little until they got to the part where it had crushed through the roof. Shawchert had Ouija stop and looked down biting his lip.

“This is the hard part here. We are going to need strength, but with the way the roof is, it might capsize on us. We may have to move it from underneath.”

Shawchert pondered aloud. He looked over at the painted man wondering what he thought. He was also a craftsman like Shawchert, though he had never seen him work on construction, he was sure the man could possibly have some idea.

“What do you think? I have not tested the floor boards out on the second floor, but I’m sure they are much more sturdy, since it looked like the tree got only part of the siding of the house.”

He did value criticism, and from members of his pack, ne knew they had the right to speak up, so he waited, keeping his distance from the tree and trying to figure out the rest… if they couldn’t pick it up from here, would they be able to get a rope and pull it? Shawchert scanned the area to find anything that could help them, but he saw nothing to help with the leverage, not a nearby tree, or any kind of old structure. It was pretty bare in this part of the clearing, which was a surprise to him as most of the forest, even where his hut had been, was just that… a forest. It did him little help to have this stupid lodge in the middle of an open area.

He had no experience int he construction aspect but he had never really needed it. They lived in caves and so their structures were naturally built. There he hadn't needed to know how to make houses and such because they had remained inside caves. Still, with his training from what he did know he had learned to pick up on things fairly quickly. After all, the quicker he had gotten something right then the sooner he could take a break. And well, it wasn't like he wasn't used to having some sharp instrument in his hand. He was just used to it being on a smaller scale. After all he had carved wood before. Just that he had never tried to build something before.

This was all an entirely new and unknown area for him so he was simply listening to what it was that Shaw had to say about what to do. He was just waiting for instruction to know just what to do. He stopped when he was indicated to do so and carefully placed the saw down. He focused his attention entirely on the other male. He really had no input since he had never dealt with something like this before. So it really threw him off when he was asked what he thought. All he could do was shrug. He couldn't say that he was sure that he knew just what the other was talking about.

"Did you want me to go inside and up to the second floor to push it up while you stay up here and try to move it?" At least that is what he was assuming that the other was talking about. He wasn't certain though. He just knew that he was used to being inside and working and moving around in there. And well, if it was just pushing then he figured that he could do that. Especially since he had no clue what Shaw meant to do to move it anyways.

Shaw was deep in thought trying to figure out how they would move this tree. It was big, but if it was mobile, it wouldn't be so hard to get it off the roof and down on the ground below as it was a cylindrical object. At Ouija's suggestion Shaw looked at him then at the tree and the visible bit of the house below. Yes that was a good idea. Looking over at Ouija Shawchert nodded.

"I think that's the best we can do with just the two of us."

Shawchert said as he looked the tree up and down, he was sure they could do it with team work. It might take a little extra initiative, but he knew Ouija was always good on his word, He had never seen him do otherwise. He stood, being as careful as he could and took the saws, which they wouldn't need now and moved to the side to let them lay near the edge of the building so if something did happen they wouldn't get hurt by the saws.

"I'll wait here and you just yell up when you are ready. Ok?"

Shaw said moving back up the roof as carefully as he could. It was slippery and he wasn't fond of heights, though he worked on them often, he did not tell anyone that, and he wasn't about to.

He wasn't really sure how what he had suggested would work out. But from what he figure he had the easy part. All he had to do was push and the other had to be the one to actually move it. At least he didn't have to figure out how to move it exactly. That was a weight off of his mind most certainly. He nodded his head as the other agreed to it.

He moved to the edge of the roof so that he could slip over it and climb down. He headed down the same way that he had gotten up, by climbing the logs. All he could hope was that the other knew exactly what he was doing. But from what he could tell it didn't exactly seem like it since he had to ask for opinions. And what made that so bad was that Ouija didn't have the construction experience to even add in input. He had never once worked with wood that he couldn't hold in his hand and work on that way.

Once he had gotten to the ground he headed around the building to reach the door and move inside. He headed up the stairs once he got inside the building. In then took some balancing to find himself standing on the railing beneath where the hole and the tree was at. He lifted his arms over his head to lay his hands flat against the tree. Once he was certain that he wasn't about to fall should he push the the tree move he ended up calling up to the other. "Okay, I'm ready when you are." He pushed up on the tree from beneath it, hoping against hope that the other would be able to move it quickly enough. If this didn't work then he didn't know what will. This was his one and only idea.

WC: 312 OOC: Yay no more tree, also we can end it whenever if you want :3

Shaw watched as the man headed off the rooftop, hoping he didn’t fall, and was relieved when he made it to the ground safely. Shawchert was an open minded man, and though he was sure he’d have the same type of idea as Ouija he liked the opinions of others, in any case, the tree would be off the house no matter what, even if he mad everyone in the pack work together to get it off. He heard the man say he was ready, and saw the tree lift up off the roof a little, and with all Shaw’s might he rolled it over the crack that it had caused in the roof to be tossed over the roof and onto the ground. It was quick and easy, and Shawchert was glad it worked so well. The rest could be taken little at a time. He was happy that they would be able to work on the siding of the lodge and fix it so that the place would be. He looked down grinning at Ouija.

“Good job! Now I’ll just have to take a break and I can get started on fixing the rest of this up so that it’s livable again!”

He said and moved off the roof, making sure to keep his grip. He found his footing on the siding of the house and started climbing down. his work would be easily started inside the lodge, cutting the wood that needed to be cut and placed, and secured. He tried to keep what he had the same size as what the lodge had but Shawchert could only work with so much. He was sure his wood looked slightly smaller than that of the lodge, but he would work with it. as long as the draft was kept out, that was the big thing.
