If only life was easy

ooc: Alright here's Faryn she's in her optime form. Setting: Morning, chilly day, run down diner in North Halifax. Date: Possible backdate to 3/4/11, please? That should be everything, that I can think of.

Winter, it was always cold, wet, and exhausting. At least, that was what she gathered. This had been her first one, and it had been horrible to travel in. The blonde girl was now used to the numbness in her extremities, though she did not like it. It was harder to keep warm in this two legged form, and she still hadn't mastered shifting yet. This left her in her bipedal form more often than not as she liked having the use of her hands to open doors and rummage around in search of things to eat. Her long, wispy pelt managed to hide how emaciated she had become for the most part, and her mane needed a good brushing. She'd only ever had a warm bath once in her life so far ,but once was all that was needed for her to wish that she could have one now.

The frail femme had yet to build up enough courage to seek out one of the numerous packs in this region. Numerous fears plagued her. Would they care that she had been a slave? Would they sell her to someone else? What would they think if they found out she was addicted to this horrible substance in her pouch? Would they reject her because of it? Would she be able to find someone to help her get off of this drug? Faryn couldn't help but let out a sad sigh. She wasn't sure if she really believed those fears, but she wasn't strong enough to push them aside. "Come on, Faryn, just get yourself out of the cold," she grumbled to herself as she trudged along, down the sidewalk. Her sapphire gaze looked upon the old city of Halifax as she walked through it, wondering where she could find shelter. So, as she walked along the sidewalk, her hands tested every rusted doorknob in hopes that one would open to a room, closed off from the wind and snow. Fortunately she managed to find one fairly quickly after her search began. The door swung open and the Faryn's slight form slipped right in. She wore no clothes, for she owned none, so all she could do to warm herself was huddle in a corner of the establishment she had just entered. A more knowledgeable individual would notice that it was an old diner, but not Faryn. She was far too young and inexperienced to know much about the old structures left behind by the human race. No one had ever taught her. So, when she crawled onto a ratty, worn leather booth seat, her knees tucked up to her chest trying give her body the best, fastest chance of warming itself. This seat was comfortable. So it was an alright place to rest for awhile. Absentmindedly, she brushed her bangs away from her face, to allow her eyes to peer out the large windows at the frigid, quiet city.

Out of Character: Thanks for starting this! Big Grin Both Panda and Venom are in Optime forms right now.

Venom and Panda had finally found the city of Halifax. It had been a journey that lasted a few days for them to get there and now, here they were. It felt good to be in the city to both of the beings, simply because down in Florida, and in Chicago, New York, they were always in a city. The two love the cities, not only because of their history, but because they were born and raised in cities. They were city-wolves, which seemed to be rare this far north. Down south there was a bunch of city dwellers. So it wasn't too surprising that the two would gravitate to another city. When they got there, there were so many diffferent shops and stores, things that Panda and Venom might need. The two had split from each other's side down the street and they checked each door until one that was easy had been already slightly ajar. Venom was the one to find this shop, and he looked at the place. Ven pushed the door open slowly and he peeked his head in and looked around. He missed the woman that was huddled in a booth before he would leave and then give a low howl for his soulmate. She came running as soon as she heard the call and figured that he had found a spot for them to chill and smoke for a little bit. She approached rather quickly and once she had gotten up to the door, Venom pushed it open all the way and held it open for her to enter before he did. What a gentleman.

Panda entered before Venom and she had smiled lightly back at her friend before she looked around, and there was a blonde woman huddled up in one of the booths. The snow and coal shaded woman stopped in her tracks and looked back at Venom, who looked just as surprised. The woman was smaller, and she had thinner fur. No clothing. Wasn't she cold? Hallo... Panda spoke out first, cocking her head lightly as those brown eyes looked at the blonde woman. She was rather pretty, both Panda and Venom could agree on this rather quickly if one was to ask both of them. I'm Panda. the woman introduced herself right off the bat. If she didn't do it now, she probably would forget to later. She left Venom to give his own introduction only because she wanted to hear his voice. My name is Venom. the man spoke, his hazel eyes looking at the young woman. Mind if we join ya' here? We just are gonna be around for like...maybe a few hours or something... the woman spoke to the other, hoping she'd let them stay.

A few minutes passed in silence, Faryn's sapphire gaze watching the world go by outside the old building. The wind could not reach her in hear, nor the cold for the most part. As the numbness began to leave her extremities, the blonde girl wiggled her toes and fingers, not for any particular reason except to get the blood flowing faster. It was nice to have fur, for when she took the time to warm up, her fur did a great deal to hold the warmth in. Even as she sat, the silence was broken by a call from outside the building. Instinctively, the girl looked towards the door, hoping to catch a glimpse of just precisely who was entering. A moment later she was greeted by the sight of not one, but two individuals, a male and a female. The pair did not notice her at first, but the discovery of her presence seemed to surprise them slightly. Hopefully they would not kick her out of the building. She wouldn't resist if they did, for the odds were against her in a struggle, but she really hoped to be able to stay. The thought of possibly being kicked out made the nervous girl's ears flatten for a moment, only to perk up again at the woman's greeting. Sapphire eyes looked towards the brown of the black and white woman as she introduced herself. Her male counterpart followed with an introduction of his own. Panda and Venom. Faryn had never heard names like those, but then again she hadn't met many people so what did she care. "I'm...Faryn...Faryn Tahra," she replied, her throat still a little achy from the frigid air she'd been breathing up until a few minutes ago.

Surprisingly to Faryn, after introducing herself, Panda asked her if they could stay, rather politely too. In Faryn's history she would have been told they were staying and if she had even appeared to have thought of protesting then she would have been punished. So her natural reaction was to make a hasty nod to the affirmative, which she did. A few seconds passed, her eyes darting about the room for a moment as she realized that it was her turn to speak. What would the nice thing to say next be? Her inexperience with real conversations left her guessing for a moment before the thought of what to do surfaced, "Y-you're welcome to sit...if you'd like. There's lots of room," she offered, her timid voice shaking slightly as she spoke. In truth, despite her natural reservations and fears, she would appreciate the company while it lasted. She wouldn't need to shame herself by pulling out the drug that held her prisoner and injecting herself in the presence of these two. She'd given herself a satisfactory dose that morning. It should have been sufficient to last long enough.

Out of Character: shortish sorry D:

I'm...Faryn...Faryn Tahra. the woman spoke to the pair. Panda held a innocent grin on her maw, and she nodded her head lightly. It's nice to meet you, Faryn. the woman told the blondie. When it came to them staying, Faryn had hastily nodded her head that they were allowed to stay. Panda was glad and then Faryn had told them that they could sit down, which was even more awesome. The next thing that Panda would want to know was if they were allowed to smoke their herb there, but before she had asked some the woman if they could in her presence, Panda had found herself a seat on top of one of the tables. She took off her backpack and put it on the ground before she let out a relieved sigh. Venom was quick to find a seat on a chair that had been close to Panda and her table that she chose to sit on. He was facing Faryn, as was Panda, as to not be rude while they were staying here together to wait out the cold. Thanks for letting us stay, dear Faryn. Panda thanked, a friendly smile still on her face as she looked at the woman with her chocolate eyes. Yeah it's really nice of you to let us stay. Thanks. Venom followed suit, with his own words of thanks to the woman.

Do you mind if we smoke in here? Panda asked, cocking her head to the right as she looked at the blonde woman. It'll prolly make it warmer in here, too. the woman spoke, reasoning for what reason, she didn't know. Panda was just like that at times, where she would try to reason for no reason whatsoever. Venom looked up at Panda and then he turned his head back to the blonde woman who went by the name of Faryn. Do you live here in this building, Faryn? Venom asked, looking around the old diner. It didn't really look like she lived here, unless she just didn't clean up or something. There were still broken chairs and stuff around that could easily be put into a fire pit and just be used as firewood instead of just having random wood laying around. If the woman didn't live here in this building, then it would make it prime subjects to being raided by the pair. Panda and Venom were both sure that they could find something in this old diner that they could use on their journeys.

[html]Yay for short posts -_-...and I used to hold myself to such higher standards. Oh well

Sapphire eyes looked at the pair as they spoke, first Panda, then Venom. They both thanked her for allowing them to stay and she nodded. In her mind, it had not been up to her whether they stayed or not. Her words had been more out of politeness. Her long hair fell neatly down her back, her bangs conveniently staying out of her face for a change, as she sat up. The tingling in her toes and fingers meant that the numbness had faded and she didn't need to stay so curled up. Panda's question took a moment for the girl to process, for it concerned something she had not ever been asked about before. Smoke? For what purpose? It wasn't her business, so she wouldn't ask. "No...I don't mind," she replied quietly, sliding further into the booth so she could recline more comfortably. Her slender legs stretched out in front of her, and once again she turned to watch the pair. It would be nice if their smoking would warm up the room. The old diner was not as cold as it was outside, but it was far from truly warm. Any increase in temperature would be welcome.

When the male called Venom asked her if she lived here, Faryn almost smiled at the thought. "N-no, I don't live here. I was just looking to get out of the cold," she replied, a little laughter in her timid voice. This place was far from her style. She wasn't sure what her preferred style of home was, but it certainly wasn't this place. The old building just didn't feel...homey to the adolescent luperci. She'd yet to have a true home, but she had a feeling she'd know it when she found it.

Word Count → 406

I JUST CANNOT RUN → extremely sorry on the wait. D:

Faryn had quickly told them that they could do what they needed to do. Panda gave a glance over to her friend, Venom, who had immediately put his hand to his pocket and he pulled out a tobacco cigarette from his pouch and he had put it in his mouth. He reached in his pants pocket for his dying lighter. He raised it to the end of the cigarette and he flicked the lighter and viola, flame. He let it light the end of the cancer stick and then he had put away the flame for now. He sucked in the smoke on the stick and he quickly exhaled it into the air to the left of him, away from the others, only out of courtesy. Panda also was weird about cigarette smoke even though she was known to sometimes carry around packs of cigarettes. It was a habit on his part. A good one in Panda's eyes. She looked over at the blonde woman and then she reached into the pouch that was on her hip. She pulled out a jar with herb in it and she had places the jar on the table before she had pulled out some leaves for rolling and put those on her lap so she could begin the process of rolling a joint.

Faryn had told them both that she did not live her, she only wanted to get out of the cold. That was good news for the two scavengers, because they did think that they could find things here that they could use. They'd probably get stoned and then go ahead and start to investigate. For now, they were still in their respective seats, panda sitting on top of the table and Venom sitting in the chair at the same table as Panda. Venom took another drag from his cigarette, and Panda started to roll the joint that the two would share. Sweet. We might be able to find some useful shit here then. the woman spoke to the other, nodding her had lightly and then glancing towards Venom for a second before she would open her jar and take some bud and break it up and put it in the paper that was spread out on her lap. Do you live around here, Faryn? Panda asked, curious about where the woman was from, if she had any information about Nova Scotia and it's packs.
