Word Count→300+ :: All welcome! Any friend who wants to stop by and take a peek at the newborn pups!

A lone wolfess lay curled up in the nest of pelts and blankets that she had constructed before the birth of the pups. Moments after giving birth she asked Alaine if it was safe to change, for it would be difficult to properly care for and feed three puppies while in her Optime form. Yes... Orin smiled at the thought, three puppies. Everyone had been guessing that Orin would have two, so it came as quite a surprise when two puppies were out, and suddenly there was one more to go! Orin herself was caught off guard, shocked by the development. Yet in the end, there thy were, three relatively healthy pups.

And now those three pups lay curled up beside one another slumbering away, and Orin lay with them, protectively curled around them and just as tired from the birth as they were. She lay in the nest, in lupus form, surrounding the vulnerable pups with her warmth. They may need more milk soon, she suspected. So she made herself comfortable and rolled onto her side. If her pups were hungry, they would find the milk.

Orin was very tired, but she wanted to allow her friends and pack mates to visit her newborn puppies. She would not to it alone, though. Her maternal instincts wanted to keep these pups away from any adult. But no one in Cercatori would harm them, and Orin knew that. So she focused on calming her wrecked nerves. Shawchert would be here, and he would never let anybody touch his children. His small daughters, and his strong, healthy boy.

Orin gently touched her nose to each of her pups, one by one licking their delicate noses and giving them a loving nuzzle before her eyes turned toward the door. She expected Shawchert to come through any moment now...

WC: 414 OOC:!!

Shawchert couldn’t believe it, he really was a father now, and though he was sure Sky would not like it, he had to be with them. He had gotten some food for Orin before he came, so he’d be slightly late. Two girls and a boy, who could ask for better, He thought as he made his way to Orin’s house. Though she was not his mate he could tell she would be a loving mother, and he would do what he could to be in his puppie’s lives. He cared for the woman who had his pups enough that he was scared the whole time she was giving birth to them, hoping nothing happened to neither, but why couldn’t he love her like he loved Sky, he’d never give her up, but he couldn’t see how he’d mate with someone he didn’t love like that. That mattered little and he shook the thought out of his head. He hoped she would be in a better mood now that she had her pups and as she’d yelled at him the day before about her meat and being hot, this time he decided just to let her have the whole animal as it were and if she wanted it cooked he’d do it. He gave a slight knock on the door and entered.

I thought you might be hungry so I got you some food.

Shawchert said, looking over at the little nest Orin had made to be with her pups. He walked over to her and set the lifeless animal down.

I can cook it if you want, but I wanted to make sure you were ok with it…

He said, though he would not give her the reason why he asked her. He’d already skinned it, who wouldn’t like a skinning beforehand? Especially in lupus form. He sat down and looked at the pups. They had to be the three most beautiful things he’d ever seen in his life. It made him wonder what would have happened if Sky had not miscarried. They would have pups too, though they would not be his. He knew he could not love any pup more than another, though the ones that he’d take care of he’d sure care more about, but he would have an emotional attachment to the pups then. His brain was reeling with these kinds of thoughts, but a squeek from one of the girls made those worries melt away and he smiled.

+(i'll count it later. >.>) - The kids are here, the twins are here! Big Grin
Edit: Let's pretend Sky can count, and all of this said there were three pups to begin with. :/

Sky hadn't expected the news she'd gotten upon returning from her trip to Halifax. She'd gone to get supplies from the hospital there, and now she felt both regretful and thankful that she had. The trip had been poorly timed, it seemed, since Orin had gone into labor whilst she was away. However, now she had the right stuff to deal with future problems and concerns that might arise with the arrival of the three new pups.

Three! She'd been wrong, assuming two, when Orin had given birth to thre healthy children. Though it was a bitter reminder of what had gone down during the earlier months, with Shawchert and Orin, it was still a wonderful feeling to know someone in the pack had become a mother.

Biting back her personal regrets, Sky had decided to pay a visit to the new family, to make sure everything was going well. She'd gotten dressed, nice and warm, and left her room to find the house empty aside from Casper, who busied himself munching on an old blanket Sky had given him. Whatever, not important. Shawchert was gone, likely over at Orin's right that moment, visiting his new children.

That was fine. It was expected. For a moment she felt upset at the fact that he'd left without saying a word, but then, she'd gotten home late into the evening and with how tired and worn she'd been from the trek home... yeah, he probably didn't want to wake her any earlier than needed. Fair enough. Good thoughts. Good thoughts.

After packing together a few things from the med kit she'd found (a few baby blankets, a heating pad that somehow still worked and a few other basic check-up things), as well as a few outfits she'd found at random out there (baby clothes, for toddlers), Sky was off to visit her rival and her fiance next door. Weird part was, she didn't feel bitter at all as she stepped outside, locking her door and heading into the street.

As she came up to Orin's house, she noted with a bit of a smirk that Shawchert's scent was already there. Of course. With the image of Shaw being all dorky over the pups fluttering about in her head, girl gave a soft knock and stepped in, ears perking and eyes light with a friendly smile.

"Hey you guys. Mind if I come in?" Not that she'd wait for an answer. She stepped in and closed the door, not wanting the pups to catch a chill from the wind outside. "I figured I'd bring over a couple gifts for mommy Orin and her new bundles of joy." Sure enough, though, as she glanced over and noted said bundles...

Well, she had to hide the hurt in her chest. Shaw was crouched over the four, smiling like the dork he was at the sight of his new kids, and Orin was in her lupus form looking rather relaxed for the most part. The sight was hard not to turn away from, but the little wolfdog forced a smile and set her bag down. "I ah... I brought some baby blankets for them... and a few other things..."

Skye was elated - ecstatic, in fact. She had heard about the puppies quickly and had rushed over; but not before taking a few choice books from her personal library to give to the mother. She knew that people would be bringing presents; Shaw would, most certainly - he was a good wolf - and perhaps some of the others, too. But she knew it'd be for the pups, and Skye also knew that Orin would be bed-ridden for a few days or so, and she wanted to make sure that the ivory wolf didn't get bored when the pups were sleeping or when she had spare time on her hands.

Skye's taste in books was slightly dour, but she had tried to get books that would make Orin lighter and happy with her pups; she had gotten her one book full of a story about a young human and his canine companion, which she was sure Orin would like, and a book of poems by a man named Robert Frost. As she hurried over to Orin's house, the books piled up in her hands, she hoped that the white female liked them.

She scented Shawchert, Sky, and Orin at the foot of the white woman's house - naturally. But she also scented three new smells, that of a mix of Shaw and Orin's, and something else new and exciting as well. Skye entered the house and grinned as she saw Orin, her three beautiful pups nestled beside her.

They looked like a mix of Orin and Shawchert, as they should - they were beautiful like them, as well. Skye carefully set down the books on one of the table and quickly waved to Sky and Shaw before turning to Orin and began to gush about the pups.

"Oh! Orin! They're so beautiful!" she exclaimed, watching the pups from a few feet away. Instinct told her to run up and squeeze the puppies and kiss them all over, but she wasn't stupid; she didn't want to intrude on Orin's special babies, and she wasn't going to invade her privacy, either. But she couldn't help but let a grin escape from her lips.

Leave it to Bangle to ruin urrvrything. +5

The news hit his bat-like ears a bit late.

As the coywolf had a tendency to do, he packed up some things and traveled to neighboring places, trading goods for others, then making more to compensate. Bangle was on one of those trips, having been gone for only a couple of days, when he heard of Orin finally giving birth. The noises that his oddities and commodities made as he ran through brush, spring, and mire meant little to the multicolored male, but it was the first (proper) birth that the pack would see. And he was missing everything.

It took time, however, to get over the incident that began the gypsy's journey in the first place. The accident was his fault, and his alone, but it would have never brought him to where he was now. After all those years, Bangle felt like he owed something to those young lives that were lost, and felt a certain connection to have to be there when Orin brought her and Shaw's puppies into the world.

His legs pumped, bowls and skulls and other sorts that dangled from his pack swinging in full motion with the coywolf's rapid movements. Snow crunched under his feet, but as soon as he met the ground he was taking another step or two. As he ran, a grin spread itself across his face, feeling strangely excited for his friend that was about to become a mother. When he made a full circle towards the larger houses, the male was out of breath, pushing through the large wooden door.

"I'm back! I'm 'ere! Let's 'ave us some pup--" But as quick as he spit his words out when he slammed open the door, the wandering merchant fell silent. Despite the other three figures in on the scene, the light that played through the windows and streamed through the open door lit upon the new mother like a beacon. And there, nuzzled into her side were three newborn fuzzballs. Orange eyes widened, now knowing how much commotion he made despite the silence that was needed - both for the pups and for the tender moment.

Without another word, Bangle shut his trap and made to close the door silently. It creaked, though, which made the coywolf wince. Jewelry on his body jingled in protest, and the coywolf set down his traveling pack as gently as he could on the floor, afraid to make more noise than he already had. After brushing himself off (and hearing his bracelets 'jingle jangle' some more), Bangle took a step forward, and none any closer.

Standing next to Skye without even knowing it, his exuberant eyes softened, overcome with a feeling he hadn't felt before. Ever since he had joined the pack, and decided to stay permanently, there were many changes that the gypsy had to make. He had friends now, and someone to provide for... things he would never have imagined in his traveling years. But it was the incident with the puppies that forever changed him, and those feelings came back two-fold as the male stared on at the scene in awe.

ooc: Mars makes things awkward. Pped krystalle alittle bit since she'd be accompanying him. +7

Being next door to the pregnant woman meant that if Mars had his windows open, he could hear everything that was going on. The screaming from the incidents outside to the rushing of people to the door of the woman's bookshop. He had been sitting around in his room, working on some sewing, when everything started to go down. He'd ignored most of it, all until he started to hear the commotion of her door opening and closing and the sounds of muffles voices. Bartholomew was getting antsy as well for some reason, him pacing around the room and looking out the window several times. Why the man was antsy was beyond him. Maybe it was because Mars had been trying to remain as calm as he could. He tried to push it off as an everyday thing. Like Alphas fucking subordinates was an everyday thing. No matter how hard he tried not to be sour about it, the whole ordeal still bothered the shit out of him, and the more he thought about it, the harder he was sewing. It got to a point where Mars' eyes crossed in frustration and he poked his hand with the sewing needle. FUCKING BULLSHIT. the man yelled at the top of his lungs before he had let a sigh pass his lips and he looked at Bartholomew. Go the fuck away. the man spoke to the other. For some reason, Bartholomew did not say a word and he simply left.

Mars put his head down on his arms and he leaned on his desk. He breathed a few times before he had heard a knock on his door. It was gentle, and Mars immediately knew who it was. It was Krystalle. Mars sighed lightly before he pulled himself together, putting a cool exterior on his face before he had looked at his hand that was pricked. It had drawn blood, only a little bit though and he rubbed a cloth on it to make the blood go away before he had gotten up from his chair and he moved towards his locked door. Clawed hand unlocked it and then he opened it to peek out at the pink eyed woman that had taken residence at his house. We have to go next door. Orin's due. the man simply spoke to the woman before he opened the door more and he had pushed his way past her.

She was over excited about the puppies, while Mars had his cool exterior on, uncaring it seemed like. It killed him inside though. It really did. The man had found himself not wanting to face the woman in his optime form though. He moved to the a room where the californian woman could not see him. He took his clothes off and put them in a corner before he had shifted down to his secui form. Once down in that form, he walked with his tail curled over his back, and his stocky, sturdy form had emerged from the room. He looked to the mohawked woman to open doors for him now. Why he didn't do it himself? Because he felt like if he had the fingers to do it, he'd want to light up a cigarette at the moment, and he didn't really have time for that. He looked to her, the same cold look ove rhis face before he moved towards the door. Once Krystalle got herself together, she would open the door and he would leave through the door and walk up towards Orin's place. It took only thirty seconds of walking before he would approach her door and Krystalle would open it to let Mars and herself in. Once they were inside of the house, Mars lead them to where she would be at and where everyone was crowded. Only Skye, Sky, Shawchert, and some fellow Mars had yet to meet. Mars approached and poked his husky-ish head through the group. He looked at the three puppies and his head cocked. They looked like him. They were definitely Shaw's, like there was any doubt that they weren't. Mars tried not to let his disgust show by putting on the actor's mask that he normally wore. Do they have names yet..Orin? Mars asked, his voice as cool and calm as it normally was.

3+ Awkward Krys makes loud noise and then doesn't know how to appropriately address situation. Wonderful way to meet someone for the first time.

She still felt uncomfortable with Mars, but she couldn't do anything to stop his presence in the world; it was his body, and Bartholomew might as well have been a figment to his imagination. She tried to ignore it. It wasn't so easy when she remembered it was his house, his home and his that she had popped into and interrupted. When he spoke to her, she listened. Pink eyes glanced up from a book she'd been reading at the mention that they had to go next door. Orin was due. Orin. The name was familiar, though she'd never met the female before; the part of Mars that was her lover had disclosed the multi-personaed male's affection for the Orin that was mentioned. She remained silent, of course, and gave a nod; it was polite, albeit awkward.

Mars disappeared as Krystalle started to ready herself for a visit. Clothing in check, hair perfected, the Latina gathered up armfuls of precious children's stories she'd accumulated over the years. She didn't have kids, and it was doubtful she would, so any literature meant for puppies were better served in the belongings of a woman who had some. The Lorax, Rapunzel, Beauty and the Beast, all worn and discolored, but still readable. The entire pile consisted of at least ten hardcovered items; hardcover books had survived better, due to the added protection to their pages.

The huge body of Mars lead her way to the small shop next door, that belonged to a faceless woman she had learned to resent somewhat. She opened the door to allow Mars entrance, following him and trying to balancing the high stack of aged pages. She failed. The first step into the building, and her pile came toppling down to the floor. Embarrassment rose in her cheeks. Everyone had been so quiet. "Ay dios mio," she muttered, kneeling as her friend approached the pretty white wolf. She watched, silent, as she gathered up her gift once more. Mars was calm, and it was clear the pups that were nestled at the female's side were someone elses.

Brief sympathy rose in her chest for the male who had let her stay with him. She assumed it hurt, somehow, to watch life unfold without him in it. At least in regards to the pink-tinged new mother. Unfamiliar to most of the people inside, she waited on the outskirts. She didn't want to intrude on a tender moment, the odd-woman-out, and was prepared to leave once her gift was offered. Her gaze fell to the three fuzzballs nestled together, a pretty sight to the carefree mutt, and she started to wonder about her future; maybe she'd be so lucky, but she doubted it.

"They're, uhm...bella. Beautiful," she offered quietly from her place before glancing to Mars and letting out a soft whisper. "That's appropriate, right?"

Sankara

Word Count→000 :: OOC: So...much joy...X3

Sankara could not believe it. Newborn pups! here in Cercatori d' Arte! As soon as the words came to her ears she had began to work on a special gift for the proud mom. Even though her only tool was a simple pencil, she had managed to get colors for her drawing by other ways, such as berries. The drawing showed a proud orin mother with three pups. Sankara was not sure about the color of the pups' pelts, so she left them white or greyish. They were laying on a forest like area, between some snow covered ferns. Sankara had rushed a bit, but she hoped that the white woman liked it.

When the drawing was completely dry (which took a time since everything was still snowy) she rolled it and grabbed it with her mouth, heading to Thornsbury. When she entered she followed a path that she remembered. Orin's store was close by. As the grizzly female passed by some houses, she noticed that they were repaired. She supposed that Shawchert must had been working on them.

The store was full of other smells. Some familiar, some not much. It seems like i was not the inly one who decided to visit Orin. Sankara stopped a few feet before the store's entrance. There must have been many people inside. Sankara worried about that. The pups should be on a quiet and peaceful enviroment, not a cramped one. Anyways, she managed to open the door with one paw and walked towards the group gathered in one corner. She placed her gift on the ground and let out a small 'hi' to aware them of her prescence. The wolfess grabbed the paper on her jaws again and walked towards the group. She managed to take a peek from behind Skye's back and saw what everybody had been contemplating with such devotion.

There, laying on some sheets, was Orin with three smallbabies cuddling on her side. Sankara was mesmerized. She had never seen such tender and helpless beings. The female's eyes filled with fascination. Orin was such a fortunate woman. To carry with the gift of life on her belly...

Sankara glimpsed at the other extreme of Orin's body. There was Shawchert. The father of those babies, looking at them. Sankara returned her gaze to the mother, and laid the rolled drawing on her feet to have her mouth free to talk. "Orin...this is...beautyful!" Her voice was soft and reassuring. Then she looked at her gift. "I- brought you something, would you like to check it later?" The wolfess' gaze returned to the bundles huddled on the woman's side. What a proud mother you must be...
