Shawchert was having a good day, and he was heading out to go see his pups for the beginning of the day. He couldn’t help but go to visit them and he hoped his mate to be would be understandable, he knew that she was having a hard time with the whole thing. He was beyond himself torn to his children. He loved all three of them but he didn’t want his mate to have animosity towards him too. He hurried out of the house before giving Sky a loving hug. He came to the bookstore and gave it a knock, he didn’t hear the whine of the pups or Orin telling him off for knocking. He tried to open the door but it was locked. This worried him as Orin NEVER locked it. Looking in one of the windows he saw the ghastly sight of his son’s head in the middle of the room. He fell back, letting his breakfast come up, before he stood up again. What about the other puppies what about Orin? His heart went to his throat. He stood and found a boarded window pulling it out and slipped himself inside where he saw the sight was even worse than from a dirty old window that had been spared by the storm. He made himself hold whatever he’d eaten that morning in, knowing it was more important to find his daughters and Orin.

Orin?

He called, his voice weak, he hurried upstairs where he saw the boarded window that had been broken into, scattered over the floor, the scent of the pups were not up here, but Orin’s was fresh. He hurried downstairs, trying to keep his eyes off his son’s face, trying to find any survivors, but it seemed no one else was inside. Finding his way back outside, he found a trail that led him to the scene where both his son’s and Orin’s smells intermingled, both her and their son’s blood had been spilled here, where was she, where were the girls? What was going on? He ran back to the village as fast as he could, howling frantically for Skye, heading straight for his home. He couldn’t help but throw up again when he looked over at Orin’s home… where his son, the handsome boy who had been his was… what was left of him at least. He went inside before howling, or trying to as he was doing his best not to cry out in grief. He paced the inside of the house hoping that Skye wouldn’t take her time. He had to head out find Orin, or even the pups. He was worried, thinking they were all dead and the rest of the three scattered across Shaw’s territory? Where was he when this happened? How could he of all wolves let this happen? Guilt was creeping up on him, his thoughts stained with his son’s head, blank eyes and the blood.. and entrails everywhere… Orin and the girls were missing, and he knew she didn’t have anything to do with it, she just wasn’t that type of wolf…

eeeep!

It was a good day, in Skye's mind. After seeing Orin's pups, she had been ecstatic - the sight of puppies had triggered some sort of maternal instinct within her. With Windsong, it had been present, too, but the silvery-white female had been almost grown when she found her, and only needed a little bit more of protection. Orin's pups, however, were so innocent, so helpless, only protected by their mother, who had been doing an amazing job of helping her little puppies. She had learned more of a concept of family; her pack was her family, yes, but so was Bangle, and she had gotten that much closer to him the night before.

Enlightened by the thought of new pups and last night, she had gotten out of her house in her favorite attire - pink t-shirt, baggy, loose jeans that fit over digitigrade legs. She wasn't prepared, however, for the wail of a mix of agony and panic that had arisen from the middle of Thornbury. Rushing from her little porch, she pumped her legs to where she heard the call - it was Shawchert, and something was wrong.

She ran towards the sound of his call - it was coming from Orin's house. Troubled - what if something had happened to Orin or her pups? - she burst in through the door.

She almost threw up.

Orin's beautiful boy pup...what was left of him, at least, was everywhere. Skye couldn't look at it, couldn't stand it - she turned her face away, away from the horrible scene and away from the alpha. "Shaw...wh-what..." she choked out.

Big Grin +3

It seemed that joy radiated through Cercatori just after Orin and Shaw's pups were born - the first litter of the pack. The feeling was almost alien to Bangle, and possibly for many of the other faces - both old and new - that were seen gathering in Orin's house that very day. With the event and elated feelings, however, led the coywolf and the red headed female back to her house that evening.

Bangle almost hadn't heard the desperate call of the leader, rolling over in bed just as Skye had gotten up. Barely awake, the gypsy murmured to his mate as she shuffled to answer Shawchert's call. "Y'leavin' me already?" A sleepy grin, a scoff from the female, and the male fell asleep once more. It wasn't long, however, before his side felt cold without Skye there, and so the gypsy awoke.

Fully aware, then, that the female wasn't going out for a pleasure stroll, Bangle dressed and hurried out the door Something was wrong.. very, very wrong. Making his way towards his house, the craftsman took notice of the scents of both leaders not far away, coming in the direction of Orin's house. Strolling over, his maw began to stretch into a grin to greet both leaders, turning the corner towards the building's entrance.

That is.. before the stench of blood hit his nostrils like a ton of bricks.

Bangle's mouth was agape, standing just behind Skye at the doorway to Orin's house - or what was once her house. Everything was covered in dark red blood, and bits of tiny organs strewn everywhere. Orin and her children were nowhere in site, but the house reeked of them. "I--who--?" Bangle managed to choke out, as if he had misplaced his tongue. For the first time in the merchant's life, he was at a complete loss for words.
