A Whole New World

[html]Occ: Alec's in optime form, btw. Big Grin

There's so much...snow. If Alec had sum up what he had seen of Nova Scotia so far in a few words, it would be all the white, untouched snow. Even in the dense forest he was trooping through now seemed to be blanketed in cold substance. The male had enjoyed this wonder at first; for someone who grew up in the warm southern-most regions of the United States where it would be lucky to have one sprinkle of snow, it was like a whole other planet. But, as his feet grew numb from trekking through the ankle-deep slush, he was soon wishing that it only snowed in this area, and would soon come to someplace warmer like his old home. But, he knew that the farther he went, the colder it got, the deeper the snow, and less feeling in his toes. He had no choice but to man up, and to continue.

Besides, it couldn't be long until he came across someone. This idea was enough to think about to get his mind off of his freezing toes;he could ask someone about the packs. Alec had already scented some territories that were claimed by some of them, but he didn't stay long enough at their borders to meet one of them; he didn't know what their motivations some of the packs have, and didn't know if they liked someone hanging at their borders for too long. He didn't want to seem suspicious. His mouth formed a frown when he remember hearing that this place had a coyote clan that decorated their borders with skulls of wolves, and that they despised wolves so much that they won't allow a canine in if they had too much wolf blood. Being the idealist he was, Alec did not easily believe this, but couldn't help but consider that it was true. What about the other packs, though; did they turn away strangers?

With sigh that broke his deep thoughts, he settled himself under a thick tree which he couldn't identify from under all the snow. While he rubbed his bare feet, he raised his nose in the air, to check his surroundings; Alec didn't put it past him that some creature would attack him while he was in no position to retaliate. On the wind, he scented the faint smell of briny water, the piny musk of the forest, and... another pack's borders? He wasn't sure, but if it was, he was far enough from the borders to not be considered to be snooping around.

WC:247 OOC: Sorry about the delay

Eclipse had been hunting... everything. Lately it became an obsession with her. She wanted to prove her daddy that she could do it, and she could help the pack. Though she hadn’t caught anything yet, this didn’t dishearten the puppy. She would keep trying, that’s what she did. She was out in the forest now tracking some unsuspecting creature. Once she caught sight of it, she would find a way to get her claws into it. But this was not the case for once she caught sight of it, it caught sight of her. The squirell chittered its warning before running for the nearest tree. Eclipse started barking and ran after the furry creature that seemed to have tail spasms every few seconds. she was not fully paying attention to her surroundings or she would have seen the wolf that the squirell ran past and it jumped into the tree while Eclipse tried skidding to a halt, but was unable to and was heading straight at the wolf... though she skidded through a pile of snow and it stopped her before she touched the animal. Jumpng up she looked at the curious looking wolf, though she backed off a considerable distance.

“who’re you?

She asked suspiciously. She was a brave wolf and she liked others but she was still defensive when it came to someone she didn’t know, but she was much more receptive than many of the other wolves out there.
