No, this isn't Bao's table, no, I'm not using it, you're just seeing things. >.> Kase is unknowingly stalking Alaki Wait, whaat?

Was it not spring? Was it not the time where flowers bloomed, birds snag, and when butterflies filled the air like an explosion of color? Then, why did snow still litter the ground? No, it wasn't that he hated snow in fact he quite liked it, but when spring came around he became eager and antsy. Waiting for one thing, butterflies, of course! What else did he have to look forward to? It's not like he had a family, was a new father waiting the birth of his puppies. No, he simply wanted to see the butterflies. Odd as it may be that's what he wanted and what he liked, what kept him eager waiting days on end through the cold months, just simply waiting for the butterflies.

Sounds of snow crunching under heavy footfalls filled the air almost sounding like odd music if one focused on the sound hard enough. Pasty white air excited the nostrils of the large equine like steam from boiling water as he trailed behind the brute tugging him along like a human child and its puppy. The two had been walking for a long time now rarely resting and only stopping to eat or drink, which were things they seemed to be running low on at the moment.

He wasn't sure what he was looking for and wasn't sure where he was headed, but he knew one thing and that was wherever he ended up it would be a good place. That was something he learned from his mother, there was no such thing as a bad place only good. He believed it and didn't believe it, it was hard to explain. But as traveler he did believe one thing, a home would be nice. Venturing about was fun and all, but it sure did damage to the feet and heart. He couldn't take all the loneliness anymore though he refused to turn back to his mother and her new mate. He just didn't feel right there anymore and he wasn't all too fond of the man she chose then again he didn't like any sort of father figure hanging over him.

Their tracks dotted the white wonderland pawprints being turned into hoof tracks as they moved about, walking was getting very tiring to the gent and was actually very boring now, well when was it ever fun to walk? As the tracks continued to be planted about they came to a sudden stop disappearing all together as Kase came to a halt, body tensing somewhat. Among the musky smell of the draft horse and his own odd smell a new one arose and he almost wanted to scold himself for forgetting what his mother taught him. These were scent markers and from the sparse packs he and his mother met, this meant no trespassing. Yes, he was having a stupid moment.

Kase glanced at the horse who just snorted and pulled his head up tugging at the lead held firmly in the wolfdog's large hands. Green eyes blinked a couple of times as he gathered his thoughts, what to do? Maybe this was what he was looking for? He really didn't know, but it wouldn't hurt to try, right? He dared not answer that question as paranoia quickly set in letting thoughts go grim and run wild. A chance is a chance. Throwing his head back letting the fur fall out of his eyes and howled, calling for someone or something. A chance is a chance, yes? What could go wrong? Again, he dared not answer that thought.

Hello! <3

She wasn't getting old by any means, simply more tired. Naniko was at the peak of her adulthood and would never admit to anyone that she was nearing five years old. To her, a five year old wolf was a sorry one indeed...old, decrepit...not able to get around. Once she was five she would only have one more year until she was six, then another until she was seven. She had to stop thinking about this.

The tall Angela was going about her daily routine, walking the borders to look for any disturbances. Her pack was large and they had expanded twice already, making his walk longer and longer for her. As a young-ish wolf, though, she didn't have any trouble with it. It was the rest of the day that tired her sometimes...caring for her teenaged son, trying to keep order in the ranks, solving member problems. Those things.

She slept more than ever these days, but nothing else about her seemed to be changing as her birthday neared. Jade eyes watched the ground just in front of her feet as she went, stopping to tear down some tree branches or claw at a log or two as she went. Those would be obvious visual signs of the border, if intruders didn't catch the strong scents of herself and her sub-leader.

Naniko was just thinking about taking a break when Kase's howl ripped through the air in front of her. How had she missed the scent of the other? She was very close to the other canine's location. Instead of sitting down, the female took a slightly quicker pace toward where the outsider stood. They hadn't come inside yet, which was a good sign...but still. No one could be trusted until they were questioned.

The outsider was a dark fellow, his mount looking as road-worn as he. Travelers seeking a safe passage through the territory, perhaps? "What is it that you need?" Her gravelly voice came, hand trained on the hilt of one of the daggers in her weapons-belt. The female wore no other clothing, her axe and daggers clearly visible on her belt. "I'm Naniko D'Angelo, the leader of the Anathema pack."

'Allo! Big Grin

The draft seemed to be growing restless while they stood there as he would paw at the ground and bob his head up and down at time attempting to nip at Kase's shoulder, too. That awarded him a smack on the snout, though, Such an impatient horse that one. As Kase stood there he started to doze off his head lolling to the side only to roll back to the front, it wasn't that he was tired(he was a bit, though) it was more that he was bored. He'd wait forever and a day, but that didn't mean he didn't get bored.

Maybe this was a bad idea? Maybe... Maybe they were going to attack him? Skin him alive? ...Consume him? An intake of breath, maybe, but eating him? Truly, his mind ran wild when his suspicions of others rose. There was no such thing as bad just good; he had to believe that even if paranoia always ran high in him. After all, once he truly felt comfortable with someone they were very nice. Though it'd be his luck to run into someone who actually fit his terrifying thoughts.

A noisy exhale left him as he began to shift his weight from foot to foot, just something to keep him busy. After a bit someone appeared, a tall white woman to be more exact. He eyed her for a moment and despite that various sharp weapons hanging from her hip she looked harmless enough? Well, at least she seemed to, never know, yes? He flattened his ears and stepped back looking to the ground, shyness kicking. She soon questioned what he needed and stated her name claiming to be the leader of this...Anathema. Such a name he had never heard of, but that didn't matter.

"I-I am K-Kase Hayashi," he paused.

What did he want? Last time he was asked that his mother was wondering what ideas he wanted to do for dinner. As the horse continued his restless actions the wolfdog fell into thought, to a lot a pack meant home and for a while he was contemplating joining. But finding one this soon? And with his trust issues... Would it work out? He wasn't one for random actions and this was not certainly what he set out for, but he wasn't even sure what he was looking for since leaving his only family. Well, on the brightside, maybe he would not stutter so much and sound like a fool? Oh, probably not. So much for his mother's social skills teaching.

"I was just p-passing t-through. ...A-Are you accepting members by c-chance?"

Oh, what was a simple question for most as such a bold question for the large male and he soon felt his fur grow warm and was all too thankful he had fur and not just skin.

I love how he thinks she'll eat him XD <3 These two should be future friends. Your long posts make me want to write more, by the way :3

She was not as sharp or cruel a leader as her friend Azalea had been, but tried to rule the pack with an iron fist. She tried to make herself appear to be the big, strong leader that they all needed, even if she did question her own thoughts and decisions at times. In the past the female had not been a cruel leader at all; she had been a friendly one, a kind one. She had twisted some because of her time in the cult pack with her sister...but not too much. Outwardly, she would play the big bad wolf.

Though his stutter made her cringe with slight regret at her own tone of voice, she cleared her throat and responded in the same manner. "Kase. And who's this?" She pointed to his steed. The tall luperci had the gift of being able to communicate with other lower beasts, horses included, and she turned to give the draft a greeting as well. "Salutations."

Her jade eyes turned back to Kase, taking in his odd behavior and dismissing it as nervousness. "There's nothing to be afraid of, boy." She wasn't sure of his age...but oh well. He would be "boy". "Our doors are always open to wandering souls looking for a place to call home. We live in an underground cave system...but we have a set of stables on the outside for horses like yours. It's a very safe and secure pack, a good place to live. But what skills do you have that would benefit us here?"

Ugh, this was very awkward to write, I apologize for the badness. hahaha X3 Yes, future friends would be nice. I call it rambling more than long.

In between their conversation, if that is what you would call the few words that had been exchanged, his eyes would wander taking in the new sights as he tried to calm his mind. Though, he did not want to come off as some anxious, wiggly child who couldn't sit still for the better life of them. Well he was that child once, but not now. When Naniko spoke again he looked back at her his mouth forming in an "oh" kind of way when she asked for the horse's name. How could he forget?! One of the most important beings to him and he totally didn't bring the draft's name out!

"Bran, he's a-a Belgian draft."

The mutt felt silly that he didn't introduce Bran sooner and felt slightly more embarrassed than earlier, so much for first words being everything. As Naniko spoke to him Bran gave another hard jerk at the lead followed by a loud snort, but remained quiet. After all he was just the chauffeur not the speaker. In return to the jerk Kase tugged back, where had this beast's manners gone? But he had to admit that seeing a wolf speak to something lower than them was surprising, he'd never such a thing seen only just heard stories. Maybe meeting others wasn't so bad after all.

Nothing to be afraid of, boy. Boy? Really? Was he that young? Or maybe she was just old in the mind? He wasn't good with figuring another's age, so he couldn't tell... Not even his mother called him that. He wanted to laugh thinking that name was silly, but he dared not to as he didn't feel as bold as he did moments ago. Instead he just gazed back at the ground again listening as the other spoke again.

Cave system he found that odd, living underground? What perk did that have to a wolf? A mole, sure, but a canine? His questions stopped as she mentioned the stables and he somewhat smiled at the thought of more horses. Perhaps he could try breeding now? That is if he joined, of course. Kase paused, skills? Oh, he had skills. But would they be what this place needed? Was he even sure he wanted to this? More so when did he become so indecisive? So he had trust issues and had a hard time speaking, but he knew what he wanted.

"Well, I-I raise horses and know some f-furniture making, b-but it's not much as I somewhat forgot what my f-father taught me."

He kinda hope she didn't take his stuttering to heart now that he thought more about what she said moments ago, yes, he didn't trust at all as of yet, but he didn't want others to think that. He was raised to be kind and that's the image he wanted others to have of him.

It looks just fine!

She was a hearty wolf; Naniko could make use of any creature that came through the borders, one way or another...and even if he had said that he had no skills at all she likely would have invited him in. Every wolf had basic skills that could benefit the pack whether they knew it or not. Even hunting and scouting were considered useful. Naniko's own abilities rested in hunting, scouting, some healing, and poison-making.

His skill with horses definitely interested her. "We have one animal caretaker...but we recently gained a few more beasts in a big snowstorm. I could use another hand with them...and I'm sure Liev would like the extra help. There is one thing, though..." The female cut off, pulling her ceremonial dagger from its sheath. "To become a member here you must share blood with the leadership. Nothing too big...a small cut, to become one with myself and your new pack."

In Character

His ears were now pressed forward focused and listening. Eyes stayed casted downward a sign of cowardness, submissiveness, or just plain shyness. It was hard to tell. The gears in his mind worked turning quickly, slickly as he figured what to say, picked the right words to form such right words. As the wolf stood there so quietly the draft seemed to be the impatient one continuing to bob his head and paw at the ground, Kase didn't really correct him now. He was too focused on his thoughts.

The gears stopped grinding when the white woman spoke again gaze still down his ears strained forward even more showing that he was listening. Well, at least he'd be of use, that was the good thing he supposed. As her voice feel his eyes moved and widen seeing the knife, he was right! This woman would skin, consume, or maul him! He held his breath. Ohh, of all the days to- What? His ears flattened back, "share blood?" So, she wasn't going to harm him? That was a relief? Kase let his breath go, how many times did this make of him jumping to conclusions now?

He didn't grasp this "blood sharing, become one" thing at all. Did this possibly mean that if he left it gave them right to his soul or something? ...Okay, that was a really stupid thought. Everyone had their traditions and if he went off to another pack they'd surely have something, too, Heck, they'd probably want his arm! But the idea of "sharing" blood with someone he didn't trust? It didn't settle right with him. Kase looked at his hand opening and closing it as he mulled over things. He'd cut himself thousands of times whether it was dealing the Bran, making a chair, or just plain old falling over, but to purposefully to such. He held out his hand, palm up.

"I-I don''t really understand, but..." he did know what else to say.

Just like before just simply holding out his hand was such a brave gesture for the timid giant. He'd learn in time, for sure, one day knowing what this blood sharing and all of it meant and if there was a place to learn it it seemed Anathema was the place to do it.

It did get to the second page quickly, didn't it! You're accepted now; welcome!! You can post anywhere now :] i'll get you titled in a moment!

She liked that he took time to think about things; Naniko didn't want someone joining the pack who wasn't sure about his decision. She was glad to accept him, though, and as he held his hand out she made a quick slice across it, then one across her own fingers before pressing them together as one. "It makes you a part of the family, Kase...welcome to the pack."

Naniko put the dagger away, releasing his hand. "Follow me." She turned to head back into the packlands, looking back to be sure that he was following. Another new pack member, another new life. Another new story was about to begin within her packlands. Whether he would stay or go would be up to him...but she hoped that he chose to stick around for the long haul.
