Sorry 'bout the delay there :3 Lemme know if the back-date is okay, as i can change it ^^

The pale, grey male swayed as the trees around him twisted and turned. An arm feebly reached forward, seeking anything solid to grasp onto; but all it found was air, nothing to support the intoxicated male. His stomach hurt and he could feel sick rise and fall in his throat, but he didn’t mind the small un-pleasantries; they allowed him to escape from his reality. Vaguely, he felt at his side for his flask, it took him a few attempts to locate it and even more to release the lid, but a pleasant rush filled him as the liquid burnt down his throat, warming his insides.

“Here I am, and I can’t seem to see straight.
But I’m too numb to feel right now”

His low voice broke through the silence of the surrounding forest; he swung around humming the song to himself. As he continued to stumble forward, pain hit his ankle and before he had time to process what had happened he found himself face first in a stream; the cool, trickling water sobering him up, if only a little.

Pale, ice blue eyes opened to simply stare at the clear running water; it wrapped it’s way around his face and side, it’s cool caress soaking his light fur to that of darker shades. Rolling over onto his back, he looked up to see the tall trees that surrounded him, their branches so close together that they partially blocked out the setting sun. For once, he knew where he was; Ethereal Eclipse, the dense trees giving the game away.

“Do you understand, who I am.
Do you want to know?”

He stretched his arms over his head, the water further soaking his fur, but he didn’t care. Everything around him seemed so peaceful; his eyes closed as he listened to the life that surrounded him. A bird sang in the distance, it’s repetitive high notes echoing through the trees.

“Just tonight, I will stay. And we’ll throw it all away.
When the light hits your eyes, it’s telling me I’m right.”

Awkwardly, he rose to a sitting position but made no attempt to get out of the stream. With effort, he crossed his legs, and then positioned one arm behind him to support his weight. Once satisfied he wasn’t going to fall back down, he looked at his ankle and let out a laugh. It would seem he’d tripped himself up, how funny.

Blindly, he reached for his flask with his free hand and took a long swig, before closing the cap and letting the container fall gently back to his side. Alcohol and solitude eased him, erased his fears and concerns and made everything, if only temporarily, seem ok.

Don't worry about! xD :: OOC/WC :: 500+

Baffled, Layla stared at the pale cinder male. She had literally just finished taking a refreshing drink before returning to her hunt. The female certainly wasn't the best huntress, but she was quite proud of the scrawny hare that hung limp from her backpack. Out of fear that the rabbit would bleed through her diary pages, she had attached it to hang outside. It was when she had stepped on the last foot or so of river stone that she heard the noise behind her and turned to catch a glimpse of whoever was making the incoherent noise from the opposing bank.

Black ears folded back, silver glinting from the rims, and blue eyes narrowed. She knelt behind a fern and peered through the fronds. That’s when he arrived in her view and fell straight into the stream in prime face-plant style. Too taken back by this, Layla kept quiet, staring with an open maw and a furrowed brow. It turned out the noises she heard was this guy singing, because he kept doing so while the water soaked his fur. She could not explain his actions; she had never tasted the fiery liquid in the pale grey wolf's flask. Yet, it was not quite fair to say that his actions were the only thing that made her pause. The dyed female was outgoing in her free spirited friendliness and craziness would not scare her off.

It was his eyes. Layla caught his icy gaze and for a brief moment that seemed a lot longer than could be explained, she was frozen. It did not seem that he had seen her, but her knees were locked. It took all of her will power to settle herself. Maybe he would be her friend? She reasoned. Plus, she had no idea why his eyes had taken such hold of her. It was probably just the rarity of the color. Smoothing her standing chest and shoulder fur with her dyed black hands, the female stood, feeling braver for doing so. She took a few tentative steps forward and stopped by the edge of the water, careful not to get her feet too wet. Didn't want the dye to fade, would she?

"Hello," Layla announced, her voice soft and timid, but demanding of attention. "Would you like some help out of the stream?" she asked nicely, tilting her head to the side and raising her ears to show her curiosity. She was a white female with black going up to her knees and elbows, tipping her tail, marking her face with a mask and coating her ears and the long loose curls and waves that flowed from her head to her waist. She was only 6 and a half feet tall and donned a simple red loincloth about her hips. It concealed nearly nothing, but did accent her hips and therefore her hourglass figure. Red bangs became apparent when her hand swept them from her own set of blue eyes. They weren’t as icy as his, but they held and intensity of their own.

Biting, cold liquid continued to seep into his fur; he could feel the cool water caresses his skin in a relaxing way, the trickling sound of running water soothing to his ears. A relaxing sigh escaped him; finally the drink was easing his mind, taking away his fears and pain and leaving him in peace. Sometimes, escaping reality was the best course of action when confronted with a painful situation. Even if it were the cowards way out.

At the approach of the female he simply raised an eyebrow; cold, emotionless eyes staring out at her. “Now, why’s I wann ah do dat?” he managed to slur out. It seemed unusual, even to him in his intoxicated state, to meet someone out in the middle of nowhere. But then again, his life itself consisted of unusual moments and meetings, some good, some bad. His tail swished from side to side, the motion starting slow and lazy, gradually picking up speed and flicking water droplets all over the place.

His light grey coat had turned to a dark grey, the back of his hair clung to his head, whilst his spiky fringe hang dry in it’s usual shaggy style.

A mischievous grin fixed itself upon his face, “Well ain’t chuu a pretty little thing” he smiled up at her, attempting to look sincere and innocent at the same time. “But ya know, it’s much more fun down here. Together we could be wet and hot” he raised an eyebrow at her, awaiting for her response.

Yeah, this gets me one closer to 45 posts and a snockered Layla :: OOC/WC :: 300+

Layla's brow knitted together at the young male's response. Why would he want to do get out of the stream? Because it’s wet and fricking cold, that’s why. Layla backed away as he proceeded to swish his tail about, splashing water everywhere. With a black hand, she wiped off a droplet that had gotten on her nose. "Well... um..." Layla struggled to find reason in common sense. What was wrong with this guy? He couldn't even speak clearly. “It must be freezing, are you out of your mind?” Layla’s response was slow, but she had given up trying to figure out a better way to say it.

He gave her a mischievous grin and spoke more slurred words at her. Layla watched as the grey male's features changed from devious to innocent. "Um... thank you. If you weren't a sopping mess I'd say the same about you," Layla replied. She had been complimented before, but never by someone so... out of it? Layla shook her head when he said they could be "wet and hot" together. "I'm sorry; I'm not quite fish as you seem to be. Plus, I have fun wherever I go and wherever I am," Layla told him, trying to be cheerful despite the weirdness.

What Layla couldn't wrap around her head was what was wrong with this male. It didn’t seem like this was his natural way. It seemed more like he had been drugged then anything. "What got you in such a state?" she asked him. "You look ready to pass out." Concern was written all over her face. What could she do? She couldn't exactly make him get out, she didn’t have the strength. Oh lord; if he passed out in the stream then she'd be boned. She wouldn't be able to just leave him like that. He was a danger to himself, no doubt.

It amused him deeply to see the female so seemingly thrown of by one or two comments. But the female responded to his slurred words; the fact she called him a sopping mess truck a nerve, but in return to the insult he simply flashed her a childish grin, which no doubt reflected his current mental state.

Much disappointed the female wouldn’t join him within the cool stream, to make his disappointment know, he breathed out an exaggerated sigh, which was followed by an attempt of a pout… that just doesn’t work on a fully grown, male wolf of his build.

He could tell the fun was seemingly coming to an end; the female had ‘kill joy’ written upon her forehead and was worrying over him instead of joining him, which, under the circumstances was unacceptable in his opinion. Even though she was responding to the situation in a calm and kind manner, the female’s concern was misplaced for he was more than fine; everything was perfect! No worries weighing down the mind, no insecurities, right or wrong to stop him. Nothing to hinder his actions and thoughts.

Many may frown upon alcohol, but to him it was an escape. With the burning liquid running through his system he found his freedom, his peace. Growing bored of his idle teasing; that was quite clearly failing, and his back side growing numb by the minute, he stood up with his own strength, admittedly he swayed through the entire process, but he was upon his two legs once again and standing within the stream.

Clear droplets fell from his darkened coat, returning back into the flow of water. Starting with his head, the rest of his body following soon after, he shook out his coat, spraying the area in small, crystal like droplets. His attention was completely consumed by the reflections of one such rain drop, the light hitting it and reflecting.

His mind came back to reality as his stomach churned, and sick rose in his throat. “Crap” he mumbled, his hand reached to his mouth, but it was already to late. Jumping over the river, making sure that he was clear of the water and the female, he threw up. Twice. The liquid wasn’t as pleasant the second time round, he noted.

Finished throwing up, he turned back to the female and manoeuvred to the small stream. Reaching down, he dipped his hands into it’s cold flow and scooped some of the water up and splashed it in his face. Rational thinking came back to him slowly, his issues returning to haunt his mind.

“Okay. All good!” he announced out loud and reached down to his side, blindly grasping for his flash. Once the container was within his hand he shook it, listening to the liquid swirl. He guessed it was around half full and he hand another full flask within his pouch, so he had more than enough to share.

Once again he drunk down the liquid, its burn familiar and comforting. Slowly, he stretched out an arm, flask in hand, with it’s lid of. “Want some?”

Hope it was worth waiting for!

The grey and now soggy male smiled at her childishly before sighing and pouting at her refusal of getting wet. Last thing she needed was the chance that the dye would decide to run off and reveal her for what she was. But wow, this guy needed serious lessons on the puppy pout. Lesson one; full grown males should just avoid the attempt. Though despite having to deal with a frustrating crazy guy that would accept no help, the frustration was masked by flattery. She would be clearly blushing if her cheeks weren't dyed a dark grey.

It wasn't Layla's fault she was such a killjoy. Normally she was told to be lots of fun. To date Layla had never been introduced to this strange liquid that makes people lose their judgement. She knew nothing of his manner of escaping. She did not realize that someone could escape reality, life, past, and even themselves. Layla never needed to, really. All she wanted gone was her dog heritage. Layla tried to help him as he stood, but he clearly wanted his independence. So she let him have it as he started to sway.

Layla's eye widened as she jumped back from the spray, and then squinted. She was careful to not get wet, but droplets did catch her chest. She had no dye there and made a mental note not to touch her chest. As for the male, his attention was consumed by the result of the havoc he caused in the water. Layla would stare at ripples only when she was very bored and relaxed. Then he suddenly jumped out on to her bank away from her and sounds of wretching were heard. Layla made a face of moderate disgust, which involved a scrunched nose.

She fought back her own urge to join him in hurling, but unlike him, she could not afford to lose her stomach. Layla had already been starting to show the slightest signs of her ribs. She had not eaten well since she left her pack in Toronto. She left before she could hunt properly. Now she was paying for it. The sound stopped and she fought to hide her look. "Are you okay?" she asked. He strode past to the stream and began splashing in the water, cleaning himself off. He announced that he was all good now and Layla blinked.

"Awesome," she said as she moved closer to him. Tipping back the flask, he took another swig of whatever he had been drinking. This time he offered her some. Layla squinted her eyes at the flask but accepted it. "What is it?" she asked. What was so great about this liquid that it was worth getting sick over? Layla wanted to find out so she tipped it back. She took on gulp before the strong smell hit her nose. It took another mouthful for her to react.

The black and white femme quickly shoved the flask back into his grip and covered her maw with both hand as she struggled to swallow and not choke. Tears welled up in her blue eyes, but she got it down. She took a deep breath but found her lungs shut. Whatever did she put into her mouth? Why did it burn to breath? Layla briefly thought she would die as she hit her knees. She coughed and sputtered into the ground, trying to hide her face. She settled herself down and this soon passed, leaving her gasping.

Layla lifted her head to look back into his icy blue eyes to tell him she was okay when her head... swam. "Whoa," she moaned. The edges of her vision blurred, or rather lagged at the edges as she looked to the stream and drank some water. The liquid had very little taste in the beginning, but it was turning foul in her mouth. The cold water soothed her throat. Looking back to him, she stood. A bloom of a slight burn burst from the center of her chest. Blinking, she asked him, "What is this? Why do I feel so... different?" Layla had a hard time finding the right words to ask.
