They had all dropped out. One after another. Bottomed out. Burnt out. Just up and left.

Conor's departure was most recent on her mind. The look in the man's eye as he confessed his abandonment preoccupied her, and try as she might she could not wash away the image. At night he stood next to the white lady as they both silently stared her down. Lavender eyes now seemed more demanding, more judging than the navy ones that had previously been the only set to haunt her before. Was she capable? Competent? Confident? The lilac eyes asked her these questions and they also answered them for her. Yet upon waking she knew that the opinions of such dream demons did not matter. Conor was gone and cared little if she sank or swam, and she had no choice but to swim.

Constantly swimming against the current it seemed. Perhaps they were rapids and not a simple current that swept them all out from under her, away to some shore that she was not welcome upon, and had no care to be anyway. All the figures who had shaped her, molded her into the being that had emerged from the silent fairy child who had first arrived in Dahlia de Mai, now seemed miles away. Saluce had left without so much as a goodbye and Nayru could not understand why this was, nor allowed herself to wonder for the ache that it caused unexpectedly in her normally stoic heart. Larkspur had left his ugly stain on her soul and was now very little more than a memory of someone who once was part of Dahlia de Mai's strange dynamics. Cwmfen was even more a memory than that and Nayru could barely recall the warrior women whom she had once wished to be like. The waves of time had washed over them all and wherever they were now, it was not here, the shore she was now the sole guardian of.

The others persisted: Gideon, Bris, and Saul, the last remaining three of those she had grown up under or beside. Followed by them were Melee and Range and the other adopted orphans, romping and roaming as she herself had once done. Finally her mind moved to Siku and the others who had arrived more recently, so many new faces and names she had yet to memorize but knew she had waited too long in making herself known to them. Yet even though they swam just as fervently against the rapids as she, Nayru knew better now than to expect them to do so forever. Sooner or later the waves would get the best of them and taken them under. The cow patterned creature had to harden her heart against this, because if Conor and Saluce had proven anything, it was that those who had always been there could suddenly vanish and there wasn't anything anyone could do to prevent this.

So mocked the eyes of Conor and the white woman as she wearily woke from her slumber, far before day break, and she shook the images from her head. She imaged the thoughts escaping from the scar that lined her forehead but was slowly growing back the ivory and ebony fur that covered the rest of her head. Forget them and move on. It was all anyone could do and exactly what she intended. Rousing Farore from her sleep she set the woman to work, helping Nayru to fall a great buck and drag it into Wolfville just as the sun was slipping up over the horizon. Once the deer was in place, in the center of the town square so that all the stone sears circled the large carcass, Nayru sent her sister away. This was Dahlia's day and Farore refused to make that committed whole-heartedly.

As Alpha she had that power now, and her hushed voice sent the mostly white woman fleeing out of the pack lands for the day and Nayru wasn't sorry to see her go. Those whose hearts weren't all in had no business being in at all. With the dagger that was so very dear to her she sliced open the buck's body, hacking and sawing and soon just pulling at bones with her hands until they snapped and separated. Half the animal she threw upon a fire that she built hastily, the smell of roasting meat quickly filling the air of the square. The other half she left torn and shredded where it laid, not far from the fire. The primordial and prevailing life styles that they kept, both possible out of one source. The old and the new, those who wished to consume a more cultivated breakfast could, or those who deemed it still most acceptable could feed on flesh not so far removed from its natural state. It did not matter to her, for they were two halves of the same coin.

Throwing back her head her howl, the loudest sound she ever made, floated from deep within her lungs. It spread across Dahlia de Mai, surely hitting those in Wolfville and Berwick first, but penetrating all the land and for some miles beyond their borders. It summoned them, beckoned them forward. This is important. Get here quick. And she waited for those who were still strong enough to swim against the tides.

so i suck very badly, and im sorry for the wait

Wretch was getting better under his hand and Saul knew that this was where his work was. His healing hands were working well on her and her jaw was almost totally healed. She could talk properly now and she could open her mouth and speak. Her leg was still mending and Saul had taken to carrying her outside to greet the spring in Dahlia, as it was coming fully underway. His house was beginning to look more furnished than ever and Saul felt proud of what they had accomplished. There was still a lot to do and Saul had plans for stables and everything in his small patch of land on Oberons Spring. But for now, a howl was calling his attention and he couldnt ignore it. He also couldnt leave Wretch here alone again. Soft green eyes caught her own emeralds and he told her silently to brace herself. Gathering her up in strong arms, Saul set off for the meeting grounds.

Green eyes caught sight of the black and white lady before she spotted him. Strong footsteps announced his arrival and Saul moved towards the Alpha Female with confidence. He was growing into a strong and independant young man and he wanted to take on more responsibility. He wanted to become the Apothecary and prove that he could look after the wolves of Dahlia. Tail swished back and forth as he approached, close enough to swipe a lick to her bottom jaw in submission. He stepped back and sat on the floor, Wretch settled between his legs. He was unsure where Siku was, but he was sure she would be along soon.

"How are you Nayru? Hows the head treating you?"

Critical eyes searched her head and was glad to see if healing nicely. Once the stitches had come out it was easier to treat and Saul was grateful for his trip to her greenhouse that day- else there might not have been a Nayru here to call this meeting. Tail curled around his crossed legs as he rolled his shoulders and waited for her to respond. Green eyes cast around for anyone else arriving, hoping that the newer members were still around.

Sorry for posting after you, honey! I know you said you were going to reply yesterday or the day before, but you didn't. D; So I just got my first post up, and made him focus more on Nayru then anyone else.. That way there wouldn't be any holes. c: THIS DOES NOT CALL FOR DUCKIES. Table by James.

Range was usually oblivious to most of the events that occurred behind Dahlia's closed borders. He was not much of a gossiper.. And hadn't really even gotten around to meeting everyone in his homeland. Not that he wasn't interested in doing so. He hadn't really stumbled upon many wolves he considered friends, or ones that he would probably ever catch himself going off to see again. But with the scent of them trailing on each and every beautiful tree in this region, it's not to say that it would never happen.

The boy breathed in a sigh of relief, inhaling the sweet scent that came with patrolling these lands. His traveling adventures had lasted longer then he expected.. But there was no way he could have visited all those amazing places and still have been home to sleep in his father's home. Glossy eyes studied the land in front of him, thinking back to his memories at the Shattered Coast. "Eclipse.." He said, images of the small pup playing over in his head. "Is she home safe?" It was a question that he knew had to be answered. He had questioned her, but thought that it was safe to believe that if she got all the way out there.. She could come all the way back. "Would I have been able to do it?" He wondered. Again, comparing himself to another being that seemed better then him. "Stronger. Less fearful." These words weren't so much insulting as encouraging- He had to be better. "The best."

This is important. Get here quick.

His ears perked, stricken by the haunting howl that was projected over the territory. Howling was an important thing in the brute's mind. They helped to warn others, as well as to draw attention. But the one that was now being sent out was not through the maw of Conor.. In fact, the boy didn't really recognized it at first. "Nayru?" Picking up the pace, the wolf made his way through the lands- Pinpointing almost the exact destination of the girl. She was important to him. Like a mother to their son. But as Gideon had explained it once before, Nayru was not his mother. "But he did say we are all family.." He took what little satisfaction he could from that statement- Using her importance to him as a mother figure to help urge him on.

When he finally reached the two toned female, he was shocked.. Once again. She stood with what seemed to be pride. All the while maintaining that elegance she always happened to carry. He looked around, examining the surrounding wood-land and searching for his Alpha. But.. He wasn't there. "N-Nayru..?" Range asked, almost unsure if this actually was the woman who had helped to raise him. His voice was that of a frightened pup, just as he had been considered just a few months ago. Not many aspects of his personality had changed, but his yearning to be his own individual grew stronger. "Could that have blinded me?" He wondered, unsure if he wished to know the true answer.

It was cool here, cool and dark and almost familiar. It reminded her of a safer time when mother was a goddess of warmth and nourishment before she lay torn open on the ground. The sharp scent of the den's former resident, a vixen, pervaded everything, suppressing these memories. Moonglow whined softly, feeling hunted. She was, she was forgetting things. Last night was gone, a blank spot in her memory.

It wasn't the blackness of despair or suffocating weight of past events there was just a blank. The young female shivered and buried her nose in her fur. Two days ago she'd woken up beside the eviscerated remains of some animal with blood on her muzzle and gore caked on her chest fur. She didn't sleep after that but the black outs kept happening. Sometimes she heard a laugh or a growl when she was alone. Moonglow whined again and squeezed her eyes shut.

She was okay.

She was okay.

She was okay.

'Are you?'

Moonglow jerked her head up, sending down a shower of dirt particles on her head but the female didn't react to the stinging just kept her eyes wide, peering into the murky twilight of her tiny den. No one. O-of course not. The den was too small for a second body. It was nothing, Moonglow assured herself, just the wind. The young wolf curled herself into as tight a bundle as she could and rested, uneasy even in this small haven. Moonglow twitched at every twig snap, every abrupt rustle of grass. When the howl sounded she yelped and scrabbled backwards attempting to push herself into the dirt wall behind her. Heart kicking her breastbone hard enough to hurt Moonglow slowly calmed as she realized that the sound had come from a distance. An Alpha call. A command to come. She whimpered deep in her throat, she was on their land...

She was, wasn't she? Yes. Yes it was the same den. It WAS.

She had to go, she was obligated to go. She didn't want to. What if the blankness came? What if she was becoming a monster? Moonglow twitched, it was a word she'd been avoiding a fear that she dared not put to words.

What if...? No, no, no, no!

She clawed her way up and through the small tunnel of her den and burst into sunlight. She shook herself, freeing a small cloud of dirt from her fur. The sun felt too bright in her eyes and strange on her body. She felt good, not tired and not hungry. She hesitated a long moment before glancing back and along her body as much a she could. Her sides weren't as sunken in under the dirty and in some places matted fur. She was almost at a healthy weight, even. A combination of fear and horror lifted the hair along her spine. Something was happening.

Moonglow knew, she knew that she'd been living off mice for the last month. She knew intimately how such a stringy diet left her body. What was happening to her? No time, no time. Moonglow turned towards where the howl had come from and began to run in that direction. It was nearly effortless, a far cry from when she could barely walk for starvation. She hated it. Her body wasn't her own anymore. Whose was it? What was happening?

When she grew close enough to smell cooking meat and see three figures gathered close Moonglow halted and crouched until her belly brushed the ground. She began easing closer, unsure of her welcome. Her eyes were huge and pupil dark in her face a twinge of wild fear lurking in their depths. When she grew close enough to speak she did so. "Alpha?" Acknowledgement and question combined in a single rasped word.

As much as the Sidhe and her snowy owl companion had been intrigued and drawn to the borders of Dahlia de Mai, the duo also were out in the neutral territories beyond the borders to explore and collect the necessary herbs that grew around these parts. There had been little time to mingle with the locals unfortunately, and now was the time to do so if the Sidhe valued her loyalty to this new pack. Upon acceptance, Saul (the individual who greeted and accepted her) spoke of turmoil. While Saul wasn't particularly descriptive on what turmoil meant, it was enough for Alae to make an effort to get ready on her side of matters by collecting the necessary herbs and plants used for healing. She assumed turmoil might have meant conflict, and where there was conflict, there could be wounds both physical and emotional. Fortunately for the Dahlians, Alae was equipped with both skills of medicinal use and holistic healing.

The Subordinate lingered in Wolfville, rummaging through what ruins were left until a howl rang across the width and breadth of the territory. There was a tune of importance to the melody of the howl, and for the first time Alae heard the call from the Alpha Female of Dahlia de Mai herself. Glancing at Kael who seemingly gleamed right back at her at the sound of the howl, it was a silent agreement the two had to move with haste. Following the source of the howl didn't take long, and the smell of fresh kill enticed her nostrils and taste buds. Upon entering the area of where the Alpha Female was, few others of Dahlian ranks were gathered as well. This would be her first opportunity to meet the others shared with the ranks, and Alae felt rather anxious to do so. Kael flown ahead at one point, but ended up settling upon her right shoulder once the two reached the gathering.

Her first sight was of the Alpha herself. She was two toned in black and white, and just as young as Saul was. Matter of fact, every single individual before Alae would barely touch a year old. This was both shocking and interesting, as the Sidhe suddenly felt slightly out of place for being the oldest out of this gathering thus far. As young as she was, there seemed to be a strong demeanor about her, and so Alae offered a respectful nod toward the Alpha. "Good day, Alpha." Alae greeted kindly, falling silent then and there. It was no doubt that this meeting was of importance, and Alae didn't question the integrity of her howl. Her eye then caught upon Saul, in which she passed a gratifying smile toward his way. Her smile also mirrored to the other young individuals who arrived beforehand, expressing a silent kindness.

So she stood, waiting for the rest of Dahlia to arrive. She wondered in the back of her mind what Saul meant by the turmoil he spoke of, and perhaps this would be the opportunity to realize what they were going up against as a pack. This pack was very different from the one she grew up in, whereas the elders and seasoned members of her birth pack were the ones who held the high ranks. Here, it was completely reversed. Alae wondered what her relatives would think of such a thing back home, as there was time to wait for the rest to show.

I am a horrible person, who in fact loves you all muchly ><

The days went by strangely now for the pure white Dahlian. Sometimes they would be a blur, other times the seconds would slide by so slowly. Often the woman would wonder where their former alpha had gone off to. It seemed the past would always be there to plague her. First her mother, now Conor. Would the souls in her life always be up and out of her life like the wind? As the distressed woman pondered, she stared into the water that was their spring. Their meaning herself, Saul, and Wretch. Saul. Gold clashed with gold as she stared intensely, the motionless water sending back her reflection. The cinnamon eared wolf would not leave her alone, his heart was too kind and their bond was too strong. She could sense it. Then there was Nayru, and Wretch. Both extensions of her family now, just like every other pack member but more. Nayru was the Alpha, now. Not just a friend. Luckily, Siku could not think of anyone else she'd rather be in charge. There was a calm awareness about Nayru that set her at ease. As for little Wretch, a little string tugged in her heart and the woman sighed at her reflection. The child was angelic like in her nature, but Siku had yet to speak with the young soul.

Almost asleep in her thoughtful state of mind, eyes snapped open and ears shot upwards as the strangest yet most familiar sound flooded all of Dahlia. "Come to me, now" The petite she-wolf took a moment to wake up, stretching as she watched Saul and Wretch already on their way. She made no move to follow directly behind, for some reason holding back and waiting a moment. The anti social nature Siku had been becoming used to was really not healthy, yet still she was like a puppet to her emotions. In the state of confusion their pack had been in recently, Siku could only hide and think and hurt. However as Nayru's howl echoed, the woman lifted herself from the ground with reason. She may hide from her duties and her best friend, but now her Alpha had called and her instinct drove her to comply. It did not take long for the slender she-wolf to reach the destination, the source of the call. Siku was still strong and swift despite her recently apathetic nature. Not as fast as some others though, Golden eyes meeting many other sets of eyes as Siku entered the group of wolves.

"Sorry for the delay." Was all she would say, moving smoothly to plant herself next to her ever constant companion. 'Saul'. Siku glanced up at her friend, not needing to utter his name aloud in order to make her presence known. It was as if they could sense each others gaze. No greeting needed, the white woman still licked his shoulder in hello before turning her head to face their leader. The others, the many strangers that also answered the call, she would ignore for now. They would become familiar over time anyway, living in the same pack it was inevitable. They all needed each other.

OOC:Hope my post is alright! wasn't quite sure what to say, I'm still pretty new at this.

Word Count-500+
Clarice wandered the lands of Dehlia alone, she hasn't been in the pack very long and she hardly new anyone. But she wasn't going to let that get to her again, she new that she would be happy again soon, even though she has no family in this land... she would be happy. As she wandered away from the borders and started heading inland, thoughts of her past life and family roamed her mind like a ghost who haunted her every thought. Opening the bag with her snout, she pulled her mothers old broken emerald necklace out between her teeth and set it down gently at her paws and whispered the wise words of her mother, "If you are not part of the cure, then you are part of the problem." She would say to Clarice when she would teach her how to be an apothecary. If only she had known her mother longer.

She was so lost in thought that she barely heard the howl coming through the trees. It was a call, and it sounded important. Clarice figured she ought to go since she is in the pack now, but she hardly new her way around. So she decided to run towards the call, she could still hear its faint echo through the trees, sending chills down her spine. since she was in lupus form it would be easier for her to run, even though she had her bag with her, making it slightly harder for her but she didn't mind. So she reached down and picked up the necklace between her teeth and placed it back in her bag. Clarice snatched up her bag with a tight grip of her snout as she bolted towards what she figured was the main town for Dehlia, Which made her a little anxious because she hasn't seen it yet. So basically she has no idea what or who to expect.

Finally entering the town, slowing down to a trot, she first noticed a she-wolf in the center of the town which she presumed was the alpha. Black and white toned fur, she looked young. Clarice expected an older wolf, but this was an elegant she-wolf, which was quite different than what she was use to, but she was fine with that. once she reached the she-wolf she sat her bag down beside her paws and instinctively greeted her, knowing now she was her new alpha. "Greetings Alpha, nice to finally meet you." Clarice said with a dip of her head, making sure she was being submissive to the alpha, but she couldn't help but smile knowing she was at an actual meeting, and that she was wanted there, that she belonged there. looking around to examine the other wolves around her she noticed Saul, (the wolf who greeted her at the border and accepted her into the pack) and a few other wolves whom she was yet to meet. " hello Saul" she said to the young wolf while finding a place to sit.

Sorries, I am now back from finals/moving <33 -postpost- Playing that Wretch arrived with Saul.

She left with the gentle giant of a wolf, three of her legs taking quick steps to keep up with him. Wretch often found herself following the adult around, stalking him as he went about his daily duties, and considered it a sort of training exercise for her. She wanted to get stronger, and felt that she had spent far too many hours inside the den already. Now that she was speaking a little better (though her quiet nature was continuing to prevent her from using her words as most other pups would) she could communicate her wants and needs and did so on a regular basis when she was around Saul. Anyone else normally received a blank stare or cold shoulder from the pup.

Her leg still hurt to put weight down on it, and she sometimes wondered if it would be this useless forever. Wretch didn't know how what she had been like in the past, but she was a fairly rambunctious and imaginative pup these days. She either spent her time alone or with Saul, though, letting herself laugh and smile around him on occasion. When she was alone, she went on little adventures and made up games to play with the animals that she found in the forest. Other wolves were too stressful and scary for her to handle being around most days.

In fact, when she did see another wolf near the cabin or around the cabin she tended to disappear, even when left alone with Siku. Wretch didn't like to be looked at or watched by others...she liked to be the one doing the watching. Spying. Stalking. Whatever it was. She knew that she looked funny with her limp, that it wasn't normal to have a leg that you couldn't use and a jaw that still twinged when she tried to talk, and didn't want to answer the questions that would surely come from a conversation with another of her species. Saul knew that she couldn't remember anything from before her accident at the beach.

The small girl sat down as he went up to greet the leader, eying Nayru suspiciously. She had been told of many of the pack members, but hadn't interacted with many of them. She recognized the leader, at least. Wretch didn't approach, instead waiting for Saul to come and sit back down next to her. She stared around at the others that were arriving, keeping her mouth shut, heart beating quickly with nervousness at this social situation. Hopefully everything would begin soon so that she could go back home to her quiet cabin.

It was easy to see that he was not the same as he had once been. Open, trusting, caring. He cared about some things, perhaps..but they were few and far between. Gideon's eyes had lost some of their gleam, their thirst for life and all that it had to offer. His children were nearly grown and were off on their own more than ever before, which was for the best. He wouldn't have been able to care for them much longer anyway, considering his injuries.

Bits of muscle had been seemingly scooped out from around the joints in his legs during the time that he had been experimented on. He could barely walk in his optime form at all without the use of a cane, and with the kind of terrain that he traveled over daily a cane wasn't very practical. So lupus form it was.

Scars ran over his face and ears, marking him in areas that could be more easily seen by others. Gideon could not remember anything about that day...he knew that he had gone away somewhere to look for...something. But he didn't remember who he had come across or from where they had hailed...nor the reason why someone would do something like this to another living creature.

Nayru's howl surprised him, and he shuffled toward the area from which the sound had come. Her voice was distinctive and brought him up out of his fog for a minute, a smile cracking on his maw. She had pushed a sense of urgency into her howl, but he could only travel so fast...he would arrive late, for certain. Hopefully she would forgive him. The male stood toward the back of the group when he finally did arrive, not wanting to hold the meeting up for any longer than he already had.

Yay! Those of you who wish to keep replying can, but you don't have to. Note Nayru's intention to start developing Dahlia de Mai! I encourage you guys to use this as thread prompts in future threads. Also, if you guys have any cool ideas on how to shape or develop Dahlia de Mai, now is a good time to start discussing with me or other members! 701

Nayru waited as the remaining ghosts of Dahlia de Mai filtered in. There were very familiar faces, and there were also faces of strangers--new members that had been admitted by Conor or Saul shortly before the change in leadership. To no one individually did she utter a greeting, but to a friend she knew well the patchwork girl might throw a smile or tap them slightly if they came just close enough. To those she didn't know the ruby eyed lady bowed her head, even when no such formal greeting had been used by them. Her nose came so low that soon she was submitting herself to them more than they to she. Yet, never did she lose her somber authority and it was only after any who heard the call had sufficient time to arrive did she address them.

"Welcome everyone," her eyes scanned and realized quickly that this was not everyone, but those missing were probably long since been missing and no one had taken note just yet, "Today Dahlia de Mai is another year older. We continue to persist: those of us who had gathered today and Dahlia de Mai as a whole, may we be blessed to continue persisting. " Ruby eyes fell on those she didn't know… "I regret that such introductions cannot be more private, but for those I haven't met yet, my name is Nayru. Conor Soul has left and I've been chosen to take his place." If there was any formal announcement for those who had not already heard the truth, this was the only one they received but it was spoken in a simple explanatory way. It was not the news they came to hear, just a on the side factoid that she threw in.

"Spring is fully upon us. Such is the time for fresh starts. The first of fresh starts with our neighbors. Soon I will go to each pack and clan and offer them tokens of Dahlia de Mai's friendship." Quickly and methodically she scanned the faces of the others, watched their reactions. Every pack would be visited, though just what each clan would received or be offered or how well Nayru was to be received by them was yet to be determined. Still, Nayru believed that one caught more flies with honey. "When I return work will begin in earnest on rebuilding Dahlia de Mai completely. Much damage has been dealt to us from the snowstorm. Still the docks in our harbor lay in shambles, the Virgin Mary lays on her side on our borders and so many other places have not been attended to. I do not wish to see reminders anymore." The Victorian house would be her own project, though just what she planned to do to it Nayru hadn't quite made up her mind yet.

"Alongside rebuilding our previous functioning buildings, we will be restoring the vineyards and maybe some of the farmland. I will need some help with this." Her eyes fell on Siku, wondering if the young girl was willing to take on such a role. Caring for the grape plants and other fruits that Nayru planned on growing, but she had such a natural way with green things. There were other plants too, herbs, tobacco, marijuana, corn. Nayru knew the possibilities for some of these, and not only for Dahlia's own personal use. "Soon Dahlia de Mai will be bottling our own wine. I've noticed our supply dwindling, so I am sure many of you understand the demand such liquids create. We will replenish our own supply, and not only, produce enough in time to trade with others." Nayru had so many wine bottles ready to be filled, had the books gathered for her and the others to figure out the exact recipes. The wooden barrels in the vineyard would need work,as would the other equipment, but she had already found all the problems, and was brainstorming the solutions.

"I expect help from all who consider Dahlia de Mai their home. If anyone wishes to share, now would be the time. If not, we have food, fire and pleasant company to celebrate Dahlia with. Let us be thankful for that."

Saul Stormbringer

He knew Wretch wouldnt have been happy about being left at home and considering the fact that she often followed him around on three legs, not talking but watching, he should have known better. So as he'd left and the little white pup and appeared at his side, Saul had picked her up, intent on keeping her leg healing. She was having none of it however and squirmed to get down as they set off. It was to be expected- Wretch didnt appear to want to be mollycoddled at any stage of her life despite her injuries. And as they settled by Nayru, she refused to stay within the confines of his legs and sat beside him instead. That was fine with him as long as she kept the weight off her leg and didnt say much- her jaw was completely healed but he could see the twinge in her green eyes if she spoke and it hurt too much. His lick and question were ignored by the black and white lady, but he didnt mind too much. Range arrived and Saul was relieved to see his nephew was well. He had seen Melee in months, but he supposed thats just the way it went.

The next to turn up was Moonglow and she looked troubled. But she was poilte and respctful to Nayru, which suited the male just fine. He offered a small smile in her direction as she settled down. The arrival of Alae was met with another smile in her direction while she greeted Nayru. She sat close by too and Saul felt a nod pull his head down. They'd hunted together not long ago and Saul was glad she was becoming intergrated into Dahlia. Green eyes shone softly and the familiar stomach-flip-heart-clench feeling overtook him as Siku moved into the meeting area. She came straight to him, white fur mingling with his own tawny fur as she sat close. She didnt need to say anything, her lick to the shoulder was enough. Salmon tongue flashed over her muzzle in greeting as he pressed against her.

Green eyes were filled with concern as Gideon walked in. His brother was almost lost to him now- he didnt know who the dark boy, man, was anymore. Concern and a deep sadness filled his gaze as he watched his brother limp in. He was damaged and he was reserved, two things Saul never thought he would see in his brother. He desperately wanted to help the dark boy but it seemed there was nothing he could do. Tail flickered back once as he tried desperately to catch his brothers eyes to give him a smile of encouragement. He didnt have time however as Nayru started to speak. And Saul was pleased when she did speak. He was finally going to be able to put back into Dahlia. As she finished speaking Saul smiled at her.

"I would like to help Nayru, in any and all ways you can put me to work. The vines will probably need new supports and I've learnt enough about building a house that I could throw together some new fencing for them. Likewise with the harbor, although I would need some help with that."

He spoke softly but it was clear what he was offering her. Not yet a year and a half, Saul was fresh and new to the world. He also had a lot to give and he was going to give it to Dahlia. Tail swished softly back and forward as he paused for a moment before meeting Nayru's gaze. Now was a good a time as any to request a co-rank, he thought.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to ask another thing, Nayru. I want to help Dahlia recover and I am asking you for the co-rank of Apothecary. I believe I can heal these people- you yourself are recovering well."

He tried to make his plea sound convincing, even if he'd never really been taught how. Shoulders were tense with nerves and he pressed more firmly into Siku for support. He hoped Nayru would approve of what he wanted to do and would grant him this.

The rest to follow the call of the Alpha Female was some younger individuals trickling in. The Sidhe merely gave a simple nod and smile to each individual thereafter she didn't formally meet yet, seeing as how these strangers were considered part of this larger family of Dahlia de Mai that Alae wished to meet and become acquainted with at a later time after this meeting. Significantly, everyone in Dahlia de Mai was younger than Alae. This made her feel slightly self conscious for being the oldest Dahlian in the pack (to this date at least), but it also made her smile inwardly. While a pack commanded by younger individuals didn't mean they weren't mature in any way, at the same time there was great potential to be found with fresh, new minds and the youth of tomorrow who had control of the future of Dahlia de Mai.

On this very day, was Dahlia de Mai's birthday. The Alpha Female didn't particularly go into detail as to how old Dahlia was, but Alae figured that detail would be known later. Announcing herself as Nayru, it appeared she was the replacement of the previous Alpha named Conor Soul. There was some mysticism why Conor decided to step down from leadership of Dahlia and decide to leave. Not acquainted with Conor, Nayru didn't particularly go into the detail of why Conor decided to leave, and figured it was history that was best mentioned at another time and place. Along with how old Dahlia was, Alae would keep the reasoning of Conor's departure in the back of her mind for another day.

Nayru spoke about reaching out to neighboring packs. Fortunately Alae had already started something of that process, and was eager to know of what other packs inhibited the area with Dahlia. Speaking of a snowstorm from the past winter, apparently it took out many of the structures Dahlia de Mai once housed. Nodding in acknowledgement to the areas mentioned, Alae silently agreed to play some part in fixing up destroyed areas of Dahlia de Mai once again to restore it back to its natural beauty whence it was found. What was interesting and perked Alae's interest was the vineyards: Dahlia had been known to supply their own wines. While Alae excelled in holistic healing practices, the prospect of learning a new hobby such as winemaking sounded very interesting to her, something she would have liked to pursue.

Saul expressed interest in assisting with the vines and building structures, also mentioning about a co-rank of Apothecary. Alae glanced at him, intrigued to know Saul knew some medicinal skills. After Saul fell silent and noting a comfortable silence among the group, Alae spoke up then. "I'll assist in whatever needs to be done in Dahlia. I would love to harvest the vines and actually have a hand in the process of making the wine itself. Among winemaking I'm fairly efficient in holistic healing; if anyone needs clairvoyance or a better attitude, we can do yoga as a group in the evenings." Alae said, then falling silent. The idea of doing one big meditation group with all the individuals here made her anxious with excitement. It would be a great bonding opportunity, as well as an opportunity for Dahlia to clear their minds, and take on a fresh start with positive thinking.

Golden eyes watched silently as more Dahlians entered the group, most of them strangers to the white faced woman. How so many wolves could have joined in the time she strayed, was beyond Siku. It had definitely been too long since she had patrolled the borders properly, and growing shame as well as guilt ate at the Wahrer as she studied each new member of the pack. Planning to meet and become familiar with them all in the future was the best she could do to resolve the inner troubles that plagued her as of late. Thoughtful as always, the she-wolf became lost in thought and lifted her eyes just in time for Nayru to speak. Hearing the Alpha's voice, Siku blinked away her confusion and lowered herself until the fur on her belly brushed the ground, respect and adoration glowing from the pure white wolf. Next to Saul, Nayru was closest to her heart. Not just her leader, but a fascinating and genuine soul. Without both friends, Siku would have left Dahlia the moment Conor did, and she knew it.

Round ears flicked forward now as Nayru glanced over pointedly. She spoke of the plans they discussed weeks earlier, of vineyards. Siku smiled and tilted her head to the side, tongue flopping out. Of course I will,' Her eyes seemed to say as they gleamed. Siku was eager to help, to be a part of what Dahlia was to become under Nayru's order. Before Siku could verbally express her devotion to the project though, Saul was offering his self up for the task. Siku glanced up at him, watching him speak with affection. He would always be the first to jump when it came to helping others. Realising that she was probably googly eyeing her best friend, the young woman turned her nose away to avoid staring as he spoke of being the Apothecary. Though Siku knew he would surely gain the rank before he even asked, she made no attempt to share this with him before the meeting. Better to leave all the official talk to Nayru, and just grow the plants she was asked to. Siku's mind drifted as she thought of things she would grow, among them medicinal things for Saul to use.

As Saul became quiet another wolf began to speak, a she-wolf whom Siku had never met before. She volunteered to help with the vineyards as well as the wine making, and Siku waited semi patiently for her to finish. The moment Siku was sure the woman was done speaking, she moved to sit up and wagged her tail good naturedly. She lifted her paw up as if to ask if she could speak, lowering it just as quickly before she grinned at the Alpha. "You can count on me to be at the vineyard, but other than that I'm not sure I can do much besides patrolling." Golden eyes drifted downwards as she sighed. " I can't build things, but along with her," Siku pointed her nose to Alae, not meaning to be rude in not knowing her name. "I think we can figure something out. I would also like to take the responsibility of providing medicinal plants and other useful agriculture to the pack. After you are back from meeting with the other packs, I was thinking we could talk about trading with them as well."
