The boy had a fresh capture and sat upon the ground with it. the small mammal struggled but it was to no avail. Bastion had set up a small little place for himself. He had pierced some sticks into the ground then added some twine that he had found to tie to them in order to hold the young carnivore in place. The fisher had been placed upon its back with each paw lashed to one of the four sticks. Once he had his prisoner in place he was no longer so worried and knew he could take as much time as he wished. The poor animal should be felt sorry for just as soon as it had fallen into the young boy's grasp. After all his idea of playtime was quite different from others his age, or perhaps any age even.

For a moment or so he considered leaving his prize behind in order to search the village that he was in. Perhaps there were more devices that he could use besides just the twine that he had found within one of the houses. He pushed the thought away as he stared at the chattering animal instead. No, he could explore later. It was playtime right now. So with a child's eager giggle he reached a hand down in order to stroke the furry belly of the animal. The unfortunate critter had been found hiding among the trees and brought into the open so that the light of the sun could overlook the boy's work.

With a single claw the youth made the first incision. It was a shallow wound but it still managed to draw blood. It was with careful movements of the single digit that he had cut through fur and flesh. He was careful not to cut too deeply. After all he was interested in the insides but wasn't seeking to kill the creature. At least not right off. If he did so then he wouldn't be able to see the way that the organs worked. That was what he was really after. He was curious as to what each organ did. What was the purpose and movement of each. He made the slow and careful cuts, staring down at his work and not paying attention to anything else.

He slipped through the forest, feeling damp leaves drag their sticky bodies across his sand-toned fur. The ground was soft and flooded over his ginger-white paws, clinging to his claws with heavy set mud. Sun beams danced before his dull green eyes, pooling in bright corners and splashing against tree trunks. Village tops could be seen in the distance behind the boy.

Citlali had awoken late inside the tower. It remained empty at the end of another week. Rain had poured all night, dripping and clanking from the stone roof and down the side of the rounded shelter. Another sliver of a crack had appeared on the window down stairs and the rain had waterlogged the door, causing it to crumble under its own weight. He left it all, eager to get out.

If he could kill an animal for materials and get started on leather, the day would be a productive one. Work desk or not, he couldn’t neglect the need to weave any longer. The temperature had risen since the morning, steadying out to the even spring heat and occasional cool breezes. Splashes of color caught his eye and caused him to step carefully over a blooming red bud. So far, the boy hadn’t caught a single scent of animal. Suddenly, bloodshed hit the air and instincts turned him towards the aroma.

More forest was laid out in every direction, dripping hesitantly. Citlali pushed back a leathery leaf, feeling the dew dampen his palm. The metallic flavor of red liquid grew stronger until eyes could make out a dark figure in past the woods. He came up carefully, unwilling to converse as always. Paws stepped silently, hoping to view the activity of the man and yet not be noticed. Another branch latched itself to his feathered tail, pulling off one of his dove feathers. The Kimaris boy feverishly tried to work it loose whilst trying not to draw to much attention.

The other boy was ignored, or actually he wasn't know about at all. An approach hadn't been made and no voice had called out so there was no reason for Bastion to notice when he only cared about what he was working on. The scent of blood spilled into the air drowned out everything else for him. Blood was his own personal addiction. It was his own personal drug. When he had that then nothing else mattered. It was impossible for him to focus his senses past the scent of bloodshed. So for all he knew he was alone with his find.

The flesh became pealed back so that he could watch the innards at work. The cries of the animal that was being surveyed also went unheeded. The poor little thing was a victim of a live autopsy. But how else was the small male to learn how things worked if he didn't take the steps to try and find out? Of course the only way to do that would be to open up whatever critters he ran across and simply find out for himself.

A clawed finger poked at the organs as he watched the way they flinched and moved. The youth ended up leaning his head down in order to curiously sniff at the organs before he slipped out his tongue to lick at them. The taste wasn't so bad for how odd they looked. Of course he ended up having to pull out a piece and pop it into his mouth to swallow it. A little snack couldn't hurt, right? And well, what was one kidney when there was still the second one? Not that he knew what part he had extracted but simply that there had been two that looked the same, each to either side.
