Sorry for the length, well go with whoever posts first as the post turns^^

The trip had been planned a few days ago. J'adore was set to escort, as his rank instructed and both Ayasha and Foxglove were set to scout for the group. Mizu had decided to come along, all the better in case on of the elk decided to charge for the group. J'adore had already decided that he would take it easy, be oppertunistic, due to the still painful scar that now grace the flesh under his shoulder blade.

After making his way to the village centre, J'adore rested for a second before letting out a soft calling howl. His knife was holstered on a belt which hung around his waist and his satchel hung from him sholder. His mind turned to his arsenal, something which would need more items in it if he was to defend AniWaya well. Though he prefered to fight'thooth and claw', he still needed to learn how to use weapons better, or he would never excell.

Hopefully the elk they caught would have bones big enough to use for craft purposes. Perhaps the craftsmen of the pack would benefit from the spoils of the hunt.

Ayasha was really excited. She would be, along with Foxglove, helping J'adore with hunting by scouting out prey. This would be helpful for her advancement as well. She had done a lot of patrolling but she had yet to help a hunting party. Probably because this would be the first one she had the opportunity to participate in.

For her part, she was in her Optime for and had nothing with her. If she needed anything, then she would find it. She actually didn't own anything (unless you counted Inez and even then she wasn't quite sure if she owned him or J'adore did. She'd have to ask him about that sometime). So when she heard J'adore's call, she climbed down from the tree house and headed to where he was waiting.

She was apparently the first one. Hey, J'adore. So you're a warrior now. Do I need to bring anything? She saw that there was something wrong with his back. Are you alright? She decided that something she needed soon was a bag of some sort to carry around with her. She did have carving stones and a piece of wood that was in the middle of being a squirrel that she would like to carry around with her. When do we leave? She was starting to get a bit anxious and really wanted to get started.

Saxif had returned just the night before and caught wind of a hunting party being gathered before she set off to check her traps. Though she was tired from the travel she decided it was of great luck she got the opportunity to be home just in time for this. She ran to her shared hut which was empty at the moment. She ran in and grabbed her practising spear and just as she stepped out she heard the howl. She hoped she would make it in time to join the hunt hoping it wasn’t an imposition that she decided to join. She ran in her two legged form and saw the two wolves in the distance. Ayasha and the one she had known as J'adore Austral. She waved excitedly before she approached. I heard there will be a scouting today. Mind if I join? She approached J’Adore and respectfully stretched out her hand. Saxif Goldenfeather. She wondered if she was interrupting as she glanced at the anxious pup she hoped she wasn't.

Saxif was giddy with excitement, if she got to join the hunt this would be her first real large game hunt in Aniwaya. She much enjoyed trapping and hunting small prey but the fun was all in the larger beasts. Her first large game hunt had been the most electrifying experience in her life. She seemingly bounced from foot to foot as she awaited the answer of the older wolf. Her heart would be crushed if she was turned away but figured the odds were low since she was actually a hunter and a trained tracker. Her uncle on occasion let her follow him on scouts, well to a point until she would get dragged back to the pack by the guard. She smiled as she expressed her excitement.

Crappy post Tongue.

J'adore stood tall, his daggers hanging on a belt around his waist and the large hunting knifes behind them. He had left his satchel at home, for he had nood wish for the weight to weigh him down on a chase. Although he was merely escorting the hunt, he supposed it would be worth it to hunt for himself also. He turned to Ayasha with a smile. 'Yes I am, have you got a knife? I think that's the only thing you'll need.It may be a good idea to leave your bag so that it doesn't weight you down when your running'. That was what he was doing. His bag was back in his cabin.

With a swift way of his hand, he swept away Ayasha's concern. 'I'm fine, just a little accident. I'm going to take it slowly today, the scar still hurts a bit'. The pain wasn't sharp like it had been a few days ago, more a plusing, numb feeling every so often. Easy to ignore.

As Saxif approached J'adore smiled, 'A an actual hunter'. He beckoned her over to where they were gathering. 'You are more than welcome to join. I'm just escort so I may not be much help and Ayasha is doing the scouting. So perhaps we will get an elk between us'. J'adore paused as he took his time to shift into his larger Secui form.

When J’adore asked if she had a knife, Ayasha shook her head. I don’t. Where can I get one? She hadn’t really ever used a knife before or needed to. Her carving was done with carving stones. So she needed a knife. And hoped that J’adore could provided her with one. She didn’t really care where he got the knife.

She folded her arms across her chest and raised her eyebrow as she gave him an incredulous look. I highly doubt it was an accident. Did someone try to hurt you? Do you need me to go beat them up? Her last question was spoken with a smirk. It was doubtful that she could beat anyone up.

Ayasha’s attention was then diverted to Saxif’s approach. Hi, Saxif! she chirped. Yes she still chirps. But she frowned at J’adore saying that he won’t be very helpful. But then she grinned cheekily. As the man of the group, you get to drag it back home! She then giggled a little it at her comment.

She then bounced on her heels a bit. She was getting a little antsy. So can we go? She glanced between the two adults. She needed to get moving before she burst from excitement.

Saxif smiled brightly at the young wolf and nodded respectfully to J’adore. Her excitement grew with each passing second when she realized she was the hunter in this party. This might mean that she would get to do the honor of the final blow. Her heart pumped with a scorching heat as she thought of getting her first large kill. She had only been on one large game hunt and this was her chance to prove to herself that her first was not just a fluke but skill.

Absentmindedly she pulled her skinning knife from the hidden hilt on her back and handed it to the youth. She had her spear so she would be equipped enough. Saxif chuckled at the pup’s joke. Just to make it fun we’ll sit on it while he drags it. She playfully nudges the pup with an amused smile upon her face. Well lead the way young scout. She stepped aside and motioned for Ayasha to move ahead while giving J'adore a questioning look as though asking if it was ok for them to begin. She knew the importance of the youth learning their trade, she herself had spent months for many hours a day to track prey so she felt her skill was practiced enough for her age. Ayasha would benefit from being full scout in this party, as she would benefit to have both herself and J’adore along with her. Saxif cared not how they found their prey just so long as she had the opportunity to hunt.

As they moved forward her thoughts shifted to the various strategies of a three-wolf party. She was kind of thinking a bow would have been a better choice but she was more of a marksman with a spear at the moment. Her skills with a bow still needed practice. Her face grew blank as her thoughts whirred with future hunting.

J'adore frowned slightly, the great brow of his secui form lowering as he pondered. His reached over his back, grimacing softly from the scar on his back and gripped the handle of one of the smaller hunting knifes that still hung from his belt. 'Here' he said, a deep mumbling sound erupting from behind the knife's handle. 'You can borrow this'. He lapped his tongue around mouth before speaking. 'I'll see if I can find you another knife to keep. Scouting sometimes calls for knife skills'. His words were spoken with an undoubtable air of wisdom about them.

The secui formed Spaniard shook his head in agreement. 'No, it was some gadaha's rage that caused this...' he shook his head again, though this turn was more in distaste than anything else. 'He was stalking around the borders and I figured he was a risk'. Ayasha was a scout and she was likely to be circling the borders also, she had the right to know about any potential risk, though a small grin flashed across his face. 'I that idiota did this to me, I'd hate to see what you ended up like'. He didn't mean it in any distasteful way, Ayasha was alot smaller than J'adore himself that was all. 'And with a shoulder like this you want me to drag it back? When you two are in perfect shape? No chance'.

J'adore raised himself from his hind legs, shaking the earth from his stomach and legs. 'Come on then, Ayasha can run forward and find out where we need to head. Myself and Saxif can take it easy until it comes to hunting... More or less'. He smiled as he trotted off towards the borders, keeping a comfortable pace as he went. He had mastered ignoring the plusing pain from his back and shoulder, and so he was able to hunt perfectly well.

She gave a giggle at Saxif’s suggestion. I think it’ll be even more fun if we poke him when he goes too slow. Her face now had a distinct mischievous look on it. Her eyes twinkled and her mouth was formed in a smirk. She carefully took the knife that J’adore handed her and then grinned at him. Now you have to be nice to me or I might just stab you in your sleep. She said this nonchalantly.

She gave a nod as they both encouraged her to lead them. She was excited but knew that it would be best if she calmed down. So she gave them a big smile and then sniffed the air for any sign of elk. Though her ears twitched at the mention of someone trying to hurt her Tribe but she was relieved that her uncle had taken care of it.

She caught the distant scent of an elk and ran off in that direction, knowing that the adults would follow her. She then saw some tracks that looked rather knew. Ayasha’s face lit up but she repressed the urge to let out a war cry. The trail would be easier to follow now that she could see where they were going. But it would still take most of the day to catch up with the elk. She had no idea how many there were or how far they were ahead. She would learn with this hunt though.

An amusement had filled the young wolf as J’adore expressed his unimpressed enthusiasm about their jokes. She new very well they would be the laborers in this task as she was far too kind to allow an injured wolf to work. She couldn’t help but to throw one last little comment to amuse herself and Ayasha. I for one like the idea of stone throwing than stick poking. She chuckled lightly. Then as the older wolf sent the young scout into lead Saxif fell into seriousness. It was one thing to jester in times of calm but when she knew hunt was upon them she took the game serious.

She noticed Ayasha’s excitement in this task and was wondering if she should make a comment. Excitement in manners such as this could cause her to miss something, though she respected her enthusiasm. She figured it was best to allow the older wiser wolf to make the first comment if he deemed necessary. Saxif started to watch the tracks as they came upon them. As she followed the young scout she would fall behind slightly but quickly catch up. She was grouping as many tracks as she could, attempting to single out a target. She would scent the tracks for any abnormalities. She knew they would have to go for a weakened elk for a larger chance of success. Her heart pumped with joy as she did all the things she was taught. After a distance she was certain she would recognize each grouping of tracks and scents of the elk. She hoped her guesses would be correct in the end.

Out of character text here.

The Spaniard smiled softly, the playful jests were welll recieved by J'adore, who strolled beside the girls silently. Despite his injury, the male kept a solid pace. The small group were now focused on their goal, although J'adore was not a hunter, he had some basic skills. After all he had lived as a loner for some time bfore joining the tribal pack. The level of his expertise didn't matter at that moment, Ayasha was tracking, Saxif was in charge of the hunt and J'adore himself was there merely as an escort and to aid in the chase. That was his role as an Ayastigi, protect the borders, escort hunting parties, excetra. Doing anything rank related was difficult recently, what with Shiloh and Mizu, and with the fact there had been little distrubance around the borders. He had been constantly practicing his knife skills, outdoors and indoors, the latter of which Mizu had not been too pleased about, but in J'adore's defend, it had been raining.

Catching a scent, J'adore stopped, 'You guys smell that?' he asked, pointing his nose towards a gap in the trees. He moved forward, without waiting for the females that were hunting with him. Inspecting the floor around the obvious hole in the foliage, J'adore found faint hoof tracks, 'Hoof tacks'. The Spaniard resisted taking control, turning to Ayasah and smiling softly, 'Ayasha, what do you think?'

OOC: Sorry about the wait.

IC: Ayasha smirked at Saxif’s jest about stone throwing but became silent. Despite what people thought, she could be silent when the situation called for. Though she felt a little useless since she was learning on the fly. She had never done this before. But she supposed there was a time for everything. But she hoped that she wouldn’t need to use the knife since she had never used it. The closest thing she had done was using carving stones to carve. And that probably wouldn’t be very helpful in this.

She heard J’adore and saw the hoofprints. Well…they are elk prints. She looked at them closely. They were going in one way. So they would go the same way. The tracks lead that way. I suggest that I go ahead and see how far they are and how many and such. They can’t be too far ahead since these are pretty fresh. She waited for someone to say whether or not she was right. She was just learning after all. But she calmed herself down since she saw the look that Saxif gave her. But this was her first hunt and she was rather excited that she was able to do this.

The huntress had watch J’adore encourage the youth to practice her skill; the act caused her tail to wag slightly. She loved her pack; it was filled with so many caring people. As her first hunting party she was glad to have been sharing it with the tri-colored male and Ayasha. If they were successful it would be her second story to tell if ever asked of her adventure. The idea of the hunt always drew into a state of internal excitement. She drove the butt end of her spear into the soft ground when they had stopped.

Saxif crossed her arms and smiled at the knowledge of the youth, she knew she had this. The huntress had stayed silent as Ayasha made her deduction and presented a plan. The pale blonde wolf nodded her smile still present. As Ayasha would be spotting the prey first it would give her the task to single out a target. Saxif could help with their placement upon the report as it would need to be just right. She looked at J’adore as the youth left and spoke. I’m slightly unfamiliar with this area what path will we drive the elk? She wanted to know the strategy or the area at the very least so she may devise a plan.

OOC here!

J'adore smiled, as the blanc pelted girl spoke. She very much had the gifts of scouting, ones that would hopefully take her all they way to the top of the scouting tier. Speaking of rank tiers, J'adore was working as hard as he could to raise his own. This would count for something too, as one of his duties was to excort hunting parties. 'I say, with the scout's approval, that we should go either side of the herd and drive them towards the woods. That way they won't have much space to move around and hopefully we shall have the advantage. Though this all depends on their position'. He turned to Ayasha, looking to her for acceptance.

The Spaniard moved towards the edge of the wood land, trying to sniff out the elk. He moved along in front of the blonde wolf and the white pup, well not so much of pup any more. 'Come on, it may be easier to plan the chase if we can see where the elk out, because it all depends on where they are'. They male strode to the edge, still hidden by the trees. 'There they are' he whispered.

Ayasha was happy that both the older wolves seemed to approve of her plan, and that they thought she was right. As J’adore spoke of a plan, she nodded. I think that it’s a good idea. She was about to go ahead and scout out the herd when she noticed that J’adore led them. She gave him a look of disbelief. Wasn’t she the scout and therefore should be leading? But she followed him.

As they headed off, she snuck around, practicing her stealth and stalking skills. She nodded and whispered, What now? She was still a bit unhappy about not leading the group and therefore unable to do her job. But that would easily be forgotten. All that they needed to do was start the actual hunting. She decided that she would create diversions by darting around.

She wondered how long it would take for her to advance in her rank. She had been doing a lot of scouting the borders but this was her first hunt. She really wanted to be a master, and hopefully before she turned two. That would give her a little over a year to do so since she was eight months old. It seemed so long ago that Dawali found her.

Saxif was taking the “back seat” for now she was fine with that. She was the hunter in this party and figured her time would come her moment to shine would arrive. Even so if she got to hunt she would be happy with that as well. J’adore had a sound plan new the area better so now all she needed to do was spot the right target place herself in prime position and strike. She knew they were near; the delicious scent of the creatures filled her nostrils even more. Her mouth watered and heartbeat rose even before they fell into their site. It was a large herd she had smiled at the sight. Their bodies filled a small clearing, head and antlers rising every now and again as they chewed grass.

She rolled her fingers anxiously as she gripped her spear firmly. This was what she lived for this feeling inside that was building, the anticipation of the hunt. It was her drug her addiction and the best thing about it was that it was on that provided the pack with sustenance. If she got the killing blow on today’s prey it would be her first large game kill she would be able to claim her first heart as it was tradition of her family. She hoped she would get the honor she would almost guarantee it if given the go ahead. Soon the games would begin, the slow road behind them the quick to come… the fun.

With a thankful nod, J'adore readied himself as did the others. The Spaniard moved away to the other side of the tree lined clearing, the girls positioning themselves accordingly. He lowered himself to the ground with a look of concentration on his face. He bursted forward with impressive speed, swinging around to the left, keeping his body low to the ground, he burst toward the elk, pin pointing a young male. On any other ocaasion, going fo a young male would not be advised, but this one had some how gained a sizeable gash along his shoulder, significantly restricing his leg movement. His prongs also seemed cracked and broken, and with what looked like the herd alpha busy sticking close to the front of the stampede, it left the injured male unprotected. This was the one. 'Girls, go for the male with the gash on his shoulder!' J'adore shouted, never taking his eyes away from the prize.

He would no be the one to kill the creature, no, he would only steer it towards the others and let them do the work. It was not him slacking off, it was only his duty to escort, he would not take duties away from the others.

She gave a smirk as they went forward. This was rather fun. But she was calm on the outside. She knew that if she let her enthusiasm get away from her while they were hunting, she could ruin their chances. And she didn’t want that. There would be time for wild celebration when they were done.

Her blue eyes saw J’adore go after a male that was hurt. She nodded in agreement. That one would do. It was big enough to provide plenty of meat but was injured so wasn’t as much of a threat to them. She got ready for it to come towards her. She would be using her speed and agility to divert its attention while Saxif did the actual killing.

She smirked at the injured elk. Little did he know that this would be his last day alive on earth. She mentally reminded herself to leave a portion for the spirits to thank them for providing the elk for them to eat. But she would still enjoy the thrill of the hunt. The most she has ever hunted was a rabbit, which fed her fairly well and let her practice her stalking, which she was rather good at.

It had begun, there was no messing about no planning it was just pure instinct that started them. J’adore would be the herder, when she seen this it left her the opportunity to run ahead and ready herself. She bounded over fallen trees her heart pumping with adrenaline. The pounding of hooves began as she started to position herself. She knew their target she had seen the crooked tracks of the male, scented his wound that seemed to be healing improperly. This target was perfect, a large injured young male it was almost as if the spirits had readied him for this day. She raised her spear in position ready to throw as Ayasha kept the herd on its path. J’adore steered the male toward her a perfect hunting companion. She aimed with a deep concentration as she slowed her breathing. She released her spear into the air with a grunt of exertion and it struck true to at the neck from the front, blood had begun to spill immediately and the shock of being struck threw the already off balanced elk into a tumble. The herd quickly flew ahead dodging their fallen brother.

Saxif rushed to him, rounded his body to avoid his antlers and leapt onto him grabbing the spear. She pushed it firmly and swiftly into his neck knowing that the position of it just at the inside edge of his collarbone would lead directly to his heart. Blood sprayed onto her maw as the artery shifted with the spear. The elk bucked narrowly missing her head as she avoided the antlers in her task. She wished the spear had gone deeper so the beast would avoid this pain but she was just not strong enough yet to give such a blow. Then he stopped moving, she had pierced the heart instantly lulling the beast into a subtle death.

She had prayed her apologies to the elk as she drove the spear in deeper. And her thanks for his sacrifice as she pulled the bits of medicine she had collected over the weeks from the pouch just under her skinning knife. She looked to the sky after thanking the elk spirit and thanked the Great Spirit just as her uncle had taught her. She spread the medicine before the elk, the offering it to his spirit as it left its body for the spirit world. She had been silent through this entire prayer internally praying from her heart knowing she would be heard. She finally said aloud in her people’s old tongue Miigwech Mishewa Aadisookaanag

Then the reality set upon her as the sound of hooves grew to silence. A large smile spread across her face as tears slightly glistened her eyes. This was the moment she had been waiting for her entire life and she had done it perfectly. She looked at J’adore and Ayasha who had approached as she prayed the hunter’s prayer. And uttered with a slight emotional crack to her voice. I… I did it. She was now officially an Enagayahe Kanati, a game hunter of the tribe if the chief saw it fit. She for sure now had joined the ranks of the Giwisayininiwug of her people. Her uncle would be proud of her and she was sure her grandmother was greatly proud of her accomplishment.

fail post, also this will be the last one from me if we all wanna end on this round ^^

The chase was breif. The young stag hadn't a chance in hell against then huntress and her hunting partners. J'adore and Ayasha had steered the creature towards the waiting huntress and then it was all over. Each participant had done their duties well. Ayasha had scouted, J'adore had escorted and Saxif had made the killing move. The spirits had chosen the male's time, and today was it's end.

Moving towards the huntress he smiled, 'Osdv aninohalidohv, Enagayahe Kanati'. It was a simple compliment, just a simple 'good hunting', though his voice was full of respect. For the moment she held a higher ranking than himself. Though he hoped that, no was sure that, with enough effort, he would be able to raise all the way to a master ranking. He swung around to greet Ayasha, 'And to you too, neice' he stumbled over the words. It seemed so odd saying it now she had an adult rank, but family was family. 'The tribe will eat well today'.

Silence over took the trio for a moment, J'adore was contemplating what to do with the hefty corpse. 'We should treat the meat or something, so that is does not waste. And we should removed the antlers so that none of use get skewred on them'. This quote brought a smile to his lips. The prongs were medium sized, large enough to do damage, but as they were not sharp, the were not treat without muscle behind them. And the muscle that had once controlled them, the life had now gone from them.

OOC: Sounds good to me. I give permission for the PP of Ayasha.

IC: She had distracted the stag by teasing it, with it unknowingly being drawn to its death. She also helped move the rest of the herd on. She was darting between members of the herd, giving them pokes with her knife to get them running but not hurting them very much. Once she got them going, she headed towards the lone, injured male. She watched in awe as Saxif took him out.

She rushed over and gave the hunter a hug. ”You did do it!” She then gave a victory war cry. She was rather excited but hadn’t been able to do this before. So now that the hunt was over, she was able to let loose. She smiled. ”Should we get this bad boy back to the village so that the rest of the Tribe can share in this bounty and glories?” She asked eagerly and the last comment put a smirk on her mouth.

This would bring her closer to becoming a Waya Agateno, a Wolf Scout. She learned how to scout prey and read tracks of the prey. Hopefully she could scout for more hunting parties. This was fun and useful. She grinned as she thought of the possibilities.
