Today had been an eventful day. Night was falling into the sky as Scorpius was leaving Halifax and beginning to make his way towards his home. He wanted to get back soon before his mother would come looking for him again. That would be the last thing he wanted. The male was wearing one of the new outfits that he had claimed from Halifax as the rest of the items he found were kept in a leather bag. Today’s search was very successful. Starting tomorrow he would be able to start marking out the cave system and give them to the leaders. His ruby gaze moved up to the sky as it began to fade to deep blue and the moon began to shine. He had one last thing to do before going back to Anathema. He adjusted the bag on his arm as he began to make his way towards the Dahlia de Mai border. It didn’t take him long to catch the scent of the pack and follow it to the borders.

Scorpius soon came to the borders and looked around. The memory of venture here with Melee soon came back to his mind. It was a nice day, at least until it was ruined by his mother coming there. He held a great respect for her, but sometimes he wished their bond was not so strong. He continued to gaze around as the sky was now fading to black. His fur would soon blend into the surroundings and would surely cause some alarm to the members of the pack if he didn’t make himself known. He would have to wait until he was able to smell someone, or hear someone coming. He then leaned back on a tree as he waited. There wasn’t much else he would be able to do until then. He gazed up to the moon. It was shining brightly in the sky. It brought a smile to the black wolf’s face as he waited. He wondered if there would even be anyone wandering around the borders at this time anyways. If no one came for a while, then he would have to return home.

The male paused as his ears moved up. He was sure he had just heard something. Was there someone patrolling the borders? Perhaps tonight would be a lucky one for him. He pushed gently against the tree as he moved forward and looked around. With the night covering the sky, it was hard to see who was coming. He spoke in a soft and relaxed tone. ”Is there someone there?” He figured he wouldn’t have to say his name until whoever was coming asked for it. Then again, no one but Melee and her uncle Saul knew him by name. Perhaps if he was luckier than he already was, it would be Saul who was coming up along the borders. Perhaps he should call out again. ”Is that you Saul? It’s Scorpius.” He hoped whoever it was would answer.

The dark night enveloped him, shadowy darkness settling on his shoulders like a cloak. It silenced his footsteps and the male moved easily around the borders of Dahlia de Mai. He didnt usually patrol at night and he knew he was going to head home soon. But one final lap around the territory wasnt going to take too long. Or at least thats what he thought. Dahlia de Mai was huge and the male had cut across most of the land to cut out the forest and subsequent hour running around it. He ended up on the side closest to Halifax, the warm night air on his face. It was nice to push back the thick locks of fair and feel the breeze, even if it was a nightly breeze and therefore never as good as a daytime wind. The males agouti form paused his running, a rustling in the bushes making him pause. His lips scrunched in a growl as he moved forward, stalking silently. When a rabbit launched itself out from the bush and into the relative safety of a run Saul relaxed. He should probably head home and stop being so paranoid. But as he turned, a relaxed tone made him jump. How had he missed the male?

Saul turned back, green eyes searching the area. It was hard to see the luperci, but as his name was called, the male knew exactly who was leaning against a tree. Scorpius. All grown up though. Last time he'd seen the black cloaked male, he'd been terrified and a long way from home. But he stood tall on two legs now and his well toned body told of his life so far. Saul allowed a smile to flash over his lips. It was good to see the boy again, even if he'd missed a lot of his life. Immediately the male looked over to see if Naniko had followed her son once more.

"Hello Scorpius. Alone tonight?"

He asked, coming to settle against one of the trees closest to him. He looked the male over, noting the leather bag over his shoulder. He wondered why the black male was here, why he was so far from home once more.

Scorpius gazed around as the darkness began to settle into the land. He could barely see himself in front of his face. He emitted a soft sigh as he was sure the only things that would be nearly visible on him now were the ruby eyes as well as the mask he wore on his face. He hoped whoever was coming was someone he knew and would not be taken back by his new appearance. As he leaned against the tree, he reached his hand into his new back and pulled out a small necklace he had found on his way back. It was silver with a beautiful heart in the center. He hoped he would be able to see Melee and give this to her, though he was sure that wasn’t going to happen; though it would still be nice to see her again. He ears folded down as he held the necklace in his fast. He kept his hands behind his back just in case he was lucky enough to see the she wolf coming.

The black male paused as he caught the scent of someone coming in his direction. The scent seemed familiar. As he turned his gaze in the direction, he could see a figure coming his way. It looked like someone was indeed on patrol tonight. As the figure came into view, he was relieved to it was Saul, Melee’s uncle. He remembered last meeting him when he followed Melee home as a pup. He gave the wolf as smile as he stepped forward. His greeting did not surprise him. The last time he had wandered here, his mother had followed him and taken him back after a bit of a confrontation. He nodded as he responded. ”Yes I am alone. Mom is back in Anathema. I told her I would be out of the pack today so she shouldn’t come looking for me.” He watched as the male leaned on a tree near by him. He returned to his tree and leaned gently back on his tree.

Scourpius had not forgotten the reason that he had come to Dahlia de Mai in the first place. His ruby orbs moved over to the male and moved the necklace out, looking at it again. ”So Saul, how has Melee been? It’s been so long since I’ve last seen her. I’ve been wondering about her since she wandered over to Anathema. Is she safe?” There was a look of worry in the male’s eyes. The last time he had seen her, she made a dangerous move and came to try and visit him in his home pack. If anything, he would have to be the one to come visit her. With his mother so close in Anathema, it would not be safe for the she wolf. He looked over to the wolf as he waited for her answer. Perhaps he would have good news for the masked wolf. It would be good to hear something nice after the past events he was through.

He hadnt at first seen the mask on the males face, covering his cheek and eye on his left side. Curiosity immediatetly sparked and Saul wondered if he wore it because something had happened to that side of his face. Or whether he'd picked it up somewhere and thought it a nice accessory. Saul immediately thought of a burn or a scar and green eyes narrowed in what as probably confusion or wonderment. He wasnt, however, good enough friends with the boy to ask him outright why he had a white mask on his face. As Saul took up leaning on a tree nearby, the Anatheman chose to do likewise once more. The boys rich voice came through and the agouti male gave a soft snort. He was old enough to shift, and therefore at least seven months old. In two more months he would be officially an adult. But Saul guessed he still had to inform his mother where he was. Saul had never really had to refer to anyone in his life- his mother was dead and his father wanted nothing to do with them. He was practically an orphan.

"Then this should be a much more amiable meeting. How've you been Scorpius? Its been a long time!"

Saul asked, genuinely wondering how the boy had been doing. He lived in the mountains with the Anathema pack and Saul had no idea what they were like. He knew Nayru had business with their leaders, but thats as far as his knowledge went. They couldnt be all bad if they were friends with Nayru. However, Scorpius had another being on his mind and voiced it immediately. A sly smile crossed the agouti males lips. He tried to hide it and the darkness aided a bit to keep it obvious. What was obvious however, was the males feelings for his neice. Of course, Saul couldnt openly say this, but maybe this conversation would lead the male to admit his feelings.

"She came to Anathema? Well that doesnt surprise me. She'd doing well, almost there with shifting. I see you've already got there. It took my brothers and I a while before we got there. I'm not sure where she is at the moment though- she still explores a lot and sometimes doenst return till nightfall."

He answered truthfully- he hadnt actually seen Melee in a while. Gideon had informed him that his neice was doing well, but Saul had yet to see the girl for his own eyes. He would have to track her down soon enough.

Scorpius felt more relaxed about being here at Dahlia de Mai now that Saul was here. It was a wolf he remembered well and would surely not chase him away just because he was from a different pack. With him wanting to see Melee, he would be sure to wander around Dahlia de Mai. Perhaps he would be able to make friends within the pack and let him enter as he looked for her. Now was not the time seeing as it was getting rather late. It would not make any sense for him to stay here when his pack was so close by, and better not to worry his mother again. There was no need for any more conflict like the last time she came here. His ruby eyes moved back over to the dahlian male. It was good to see that he was doing well and it would be nice to hear if there was anything new going on.

The black male paused as Saul gave a small snort to his response. It was not exactly the response he thought he would get, though he didn’t comment on it. Instead the male began to ask about how he had been. ”Not too much has happened really.” He then leaned off the tree to get an itch on his back. ”I have earned my adult rank in Anathema. I am a cave explorer and was actually out today in Halifax gathering supplies.” He returned his back onto the tree as he nodded. ”What about you Saul? Anything new happened since the last time that I was here?” As he waited for the male to respond, he thought about his mother, really hoping that she was not out looking for him. According to the pack, he was an adult now and would be able to do his own things. He did not need to be watched constantly like a pup.

Scorpius’ ruby orbs moved back to the male as he spoke about Melee and gave him a sure sign that she was safe. That was nice to hear. She was a bit younger than her and considering the she wolf’s paw, he wasn’t surprised that she would be having trouble when she was shifting. It was nice to see that she was still lively and exploring, though it did bring him some worry. He didn’t like the thought that she might run into some danger while she was exploring. He nodded and closed his eyes. ”I see… I hope she is safe while she is out exploring. I’d feel so terrible if something bad happened to her.” He looked over to Saul, a small smile on his face. He was sure the wolf would be able to tell now how he felt about the she wolf. He looked to the heart necklace and wondered if Saul would be able to give it to her for him since he wouldn’t be able to come here often. He held it up to him. ”Say Saul, do you think the next time you see her, you could give this to her?”
