predated to july 3rd, 10am, Temporary House in Westville.

He had a bone to pick with Nayru. It was rare that the agouti male got mad, and in fact he wasnt angry now. But concern and small traces of frustration traced over the lines of his face. He had a destination in mind today and he's risen early once again. Although he and Wretch had found the perfect place for them all to live in, despite the caved in west roof, and Gideon had agreed that he would like to live there with his family, Saul and his portion of the family had taken up a temporary residence in an old office building not too far away. He knew where Gideon had set up his camp for the time being and it was to here that he headed. He needed to speak to Nayru about his brother, and the horrid game she was playing with him. It was so clear that he was besotted with her, Saul might even go as far to say that Gideon loved her. But she raced away each time he spoke to her, lead him on by snuggling up in bed with him when she clearly did not return the feelings so easily visible on Gideon's sleeve. And it was time it stopped. If Nayru didnt have the same feelings as his brother, she should outright say it. Saul wasnt going to see his brother hurt this badly over a female that wasnt interested.

With a certifiably dark mood at hand, the male approached the small house his brother was residing in. He could smell from outside that Gideon wasnt in- his fresh scent marks clearly told the agouti male that his brother had left about half an hour ago. But he could just smell Nayru in there and this was his goal. She may be his leader, but Gideon was his brother and he had every right to be concerned for his younger sibling. He let himself in, shutting the door with a bang behind him. There was no need to be sneaky, he wasnt here to murder her. Just a nice, pleasent chat, nothing more. He looked around, scenting where Gideon's bedroom was. And with a jolt he realised Nayru's scent was all over the place. So she'd been staying here, had she? With a scowl, the male turned his head away before calling out a firm "Nayru?" And remaining in the corridor, waiting for his black and white leader to show her face.

Nayru was combing over the house. It was a nice little place, a bit battered and beaten up by time but what house wasn't? Yet it was tiny and remote from the others and for some reason this fact bothered Nayru. The ivory and ebony lady couldn't exactly say just why this bothered her, but it did a great deal. What if they wanted to fill their home with something? There was no room here. Their home. With Gideon, Melee and Range. The pups, or rather they could barely be considered pups any longer, had not seemed at all surprised to find Nayru in their home that first morning. Often she had slept by Gideon's side anymore, and no one had announced that it was to become a common place behavior. They hadn't needed to. The closeness between the ebony man and his two toned lady that morning had been enough to let Melee and Range know. The kids had given them a smirk and went on their merry way.

And eventually Gideon had gone on his merry way as well. Nayru had plenty to do as well but she had lingered that morning. Silent ghost feet taking her from one room of the house to another. It didn't quite feel like home, but if this was where Gideon stayed then so did she. Light fingers glided over the walls and ruby eyes inspected the ceiling. Mentally she made a list of repairs that would never be made. Gideon had stayed he did not plan on staying, that he wanted to be closer to Saul and to this Nayru had no objection but they hadn't gone into any details. If Gideon already knew where they were moving, Nayru did not. This she was okay with. Usually the woman liked to stay on top of everything, know all, but with Gideon it didn't seem to matter. Everything would work out one way or another, hadn’t their encounter the night before proven that much?

The loud bang snapped the girl out of her reverie and the warrior's mind took over. Like a cat she stalked around the corners, knowing her dagger to be easily within reach strapped close to her ankle. Yet before she came face to face with the intruder Nayru dropped her guard. The scent that hit her before she saw the figure told her enough. Saul. Was he here looking for Gideon? Quickly she picked her pace up from the slow stalk to a quick jaunt and joined the man by the front door. When she greeted him she did so with a wide grin and a clumsy bow, hands in front of her and together. "Saul! Good morning. What are you doing here?"

awkward saul is fuuuny

Now that he was here, he had no idea what to say. It was a rare feeling for the agouti male and he wasnt entirely sure what to make of it. But he stood in the lobby area of the house Gideon had temporarily set up base, fingers twisting awkwardly about each other. Nayru was his leader and respect was of the utmost importance to show to her. But Gideon was his brother and no matter what hold Nayru had over him, she would not mess around his baby brother. Face hardened, although never angry or threatened, the male tried to calm his uneased mind into behaving. There was no answer from Nayru however and as the seconds dragged on, Saul considered the possiblity that he'd missed her. If she'd left when Gideon had left, then his standing here shouting for the leader was no use. He was about to turn away, about to avoid this awkward and strange meeting untirely, when her black and white form came round the door frame, the suspicion in her eyes turning immediately to regonition.

And for her part, she sounded pleased to see him. It was a shame Saul felt like he had a frog stuck in his throat as he watched her move forward. Pleasentries were given, a common courtesy most in that pack obliged by. Saul nodded softly to her before speaking in regards to her first words. "Good morning Nayru, I hope all is well?" He offered, part question part statement. However, he could not avoid this confrontation, if that was what it turned out to be. In all fairness, he should have trusted Nayru. He knew Nayru, certainly not as well as Gideon did but enough to know that she was a good hearted female. And he should have known that she had good reasons for rebuffing his brother. But sibling instincts had the amazing ability to look past all rational thought, which was what had happened today.

"I wanted to speak to you about a... delicate matter." He paused, green eyes looking into her own ruby ones. He took a deep breath, that in itself showing its awkwardness. "About you and Gideon" He said, green eyes becoming a bit more sure of himself, even for just a moment. He was here to set things straight for not only his own mind, but theirs too.

As the man returned the Jiryu's greeting she left the smile upon two toned face--although soon enough it was clear that Saul was not his normal chipper self. While he did not seemed unhappy, he did not seem pleased either but Nayru did not let the strange behavior of the man bother her just then. Saul would tell her sooner or later what he was unhappy with, and so with her steady grin she simply answered his inquiry. "Quite fine." Her melodic voice held a sweeter ring to it than usual, although it was so low that such subtle changes were hard to catch. While the few weeks before the merge life had seemed more stressful than usual, everything seemed to be settling in for Nayru in Ichika no Ho-en. Anything that had yet to fallen into place just yet would eventually, Nayru knew this and so if she was still waiting for something, the woman did so patiently. They had all the time in the world.

At Saul's next words Nayru perked her ears up. A delicate matter? It seemed strange that Saul would ever hesitate or be shy with her, as that had never been their relationship. They had very nearly grown up together, although they two had never been as close as Gideon and she, Saul was a much of a brother as Nayru would ever know and she couldn't image the male being uncomfortable speaking to her. And yet he seemed very much uncomfortable just then and Nayru waited, curiosity sparked more than ever. Then came a name and Nayru herself felt distantly uncomfortable. So fresh were those names suppose to be spoken together, how could Saul have anything to say against them just yet? Yet the girl's voice was steady as she spoke, ruby eyes hard on Saul's emerald ones. "What about Gideon and I?" What indeed?

Green eyes were intent on the grin that stretched his leaders lips. She seemed happier than she had been in a while and Saul wondered at her change in mood. But there was nothing to be done about it, save actually asking her. She replied quickly that she was quite fine, to which Saul gave a soft incline of his head. He didnt want to speak to her about all of this, but the pained expression on his brothers face practically all the way out here was something that had stuck in his mind. She was playing games with him and it wasnt fair. She had to know his feelings for her went far beyound what some might call plantonic. It was as clear as day. "I am glad you are well Nayru, the trek was long and hard on a lot of us." He said, thinking of Wretch. While he leg was fine, the trek had really taken it out of her. Still, they had arrived now and there was nothing more that could be done for the girl aside from rest and relaxation. With everything going on in the new pack, he very much doubted the female would do so.

Green eyes flinched softly as Jiryu's ruby eyes turned hard. He had rarely ever seen his leader angry, mad or otherwise upset. He'd seen her looking a bit down and worn when Conor had left, but the steel in her eyes was rare. The smile still remained however and Saul knew there was no harmful intent to her. He took a step forward as she asked him to explain himself. He dropped his gaze. "Nayru..." He paused, searching the floor. "He's my brother and you have to know that I will protect him at all costs. Protect against harm, whether that is physical or mental." He paused there, unable to see where his words were taking him. Nayru was like a sister to him, someone who had looked after him from the very first day he'd arrived in Dahlia, starving and looking for food. Surely he wasnt doing this?

"Nayru..." His voice hardened then as did his green eyes. "You cannot lead him on any longer. You have to tell him where you stand, because I can see that you're hurting my brother. As a leader, I respect you greatly. But my loyalty to my brother is stronger than that and I won't see him hurt." He tried to speak as plainly as he could, but the awkwardness of the situation was wearing at him. Fingers twisted uncomfortably, tail tucked between his legs and ears flat against his skull in a submissive posture. He didnt come here to argue with her, but he could no longer sit by and watch the two of them dance around each other. It simply wasnt fair.

Even before the serious but shy man had finished with his speech a slight giggle grew in the throat of the leader. Yet she kept it submerged within her, waiting until Saul Stormbringer finished his piece. Nayru watched as he shifted uncomfortably, his fingers twisting together and his face diverted from her own. Almost she wanted to hug him, reward him for his unfailing loyalty to Gideon. Nayru could not fault him for choosing the man over her, and she might have had to admonish him if it were otherwise. If Saul truly thought Nayru out of place it was for the love of Gideon and even all of Ichika that he spoke out about it. Never did she want to displease any of them, ever the humble servant, and yet Saul simply did not understand. And when he finished speaking it was her soft twitter that let him know that all was not as it seemed.

Gliding on her ghost feet, Nayru closed the distance between her and the man. Laying a gentle hand on the arm of the man, she tilted her head until eye contact was made and allowed her smirk like smile to melt into a genuine grin. I love him, Saul." The voice rose above a whisper just then, but with her next words they dropped back to their natural volume of barely an audible murmur. "Gideon and I are together now. " Although hadn't they always been, in one way or another? Brother and sister. Best friends. Always they had been dedicated to one another, but never like they were now. Never had it been so definite, so solid, so explicit. Nayru was unsure on how to let to other know of the change, but believed it would have come naturally. It seemed that was not always the case.

Whether Gideon would have liked to tell his brother himself, Nayru did not know but felt a small pang of guilt at perhaps taking that from the ebony man. Yet Saul had to know, and he knew now and Nayru was glad to share the news with him. Almost as if it were a secret she dropped her voice even lower, eyes glittering with the news. "We’re mates now."

NEVAAAARRRR <333

He heard her giggle and froze, body jolting as the small sound escaped his leader. He had no idea what to make of the sound, no idea how to interpret it. As a leader, Nayru was fair and just, and while there had so far never been cause to punish anyone within Dahlia or Ichika, he was sure she was a firm hand. Still, he hadnt expected the noise and allowed green eyes to shift to the floor as she moved forward. He wasn't frightened of her, far from it. He respected her leadership and her authority over him, as well as her ability to lead the pack. There was a reason she was a leader and others were not. Still, there was a certain amount of trepidation in his gaze as he looked up to see her ghosting towards him. She was an ethereal presence in his life, turning up when he needed him. But of course, she was always closer to Gideon and had spent far more time with him than Saul. He held still as she laid a hand on his own arm, leaning up as she did so that her ruby eyes clashed with his own green. And she spoke the words that he was sure Gideon had been searching for all along.

Saul's mouth fell open in a comical 'o' as she continued to reiterate her point- she spoke plain and clearly when she said that she and Gideon were together now. His heart nearly jumped out of his chest and he broke into a grin so wide, it almost seemed as if he would open his mouth and swallow her whole. "Oh Nayru, thats wonderful. When did this happen?" He asked, thinking to the last time he'd spoken to Gideon. It had been the day before, just after he and Wretch had found the apartment building and decided that this was where they were going to live. Gideon hadn't said anything then, but perhaps it was a more recent event than that. His tail became unstuck from the side of his thigh as he moved it swiftly back and forward as she looked towards him, voice dropping lower to perhaps cause dramatic effect and let loose the secret that had burnt in her eyes. He had a sister-in-law. They were mates. Sombering, Saul laughed softly, leaning forward to gently kiss her on the cheek.

"Congratulations Nayru... I'm pleased for you."

He chuckled once more, moving to hug his leader and sister in congratulations. He found it rather ironic that he had come here demanding answers and justification from her, and he would leave knowing that they were together at last. A certain peace washed over the male, eradicating the unease and awkwardness the meeting had caused him. He laughed once more, glancing towards the interior of the house to see if his niece and nephew were around. "Do Melee and Range know yet?" He asked, wondering how they would take the news.

The complete change that came over Saul pleased Nayru. The man went from uncomfortable and formal to excited and joyous in no time at all. "Last night." Not much time at all had elapsed since Gideon and she had made the official commitment, they hadn't even time to spread the news before Saul had come to inquire of them. Nayru shifted her weight from one foot to the other, still smiling up at the boy she had always thought of as a brother but now was more of one than ever. All Ichikans were brothers and sisters, but Saul had grown up alongside of her for a while, they had made the move here together and they shared Gideon in common, she was glad of the stronger link she now shared with the Hui K'o.

Saul moved forward and kissed her on the cheek, and quickly she grasped his arm so he could not move away before she returned the affectionate embrace. There had been a time when the stoic girl rarely showed emotion other than a slightly amused smile, but now she smiled wide. More and more it was getting easier to embrace them, physically. Before she could only reach out to Gideon, but now she found that the warmth she felt radiating from the others was pleasant to experience physically. "Thank you Saul. I am pleased for me too." She laughed her light, twittering laugh then, realizing she was happier now than she had ever been.

Ears perked up at the names of Gideon's adopted children. Nayru thought of the knowing looks the two had cast the pair this morning. And yet, what had really changed? Instead of Nayru coming and going at random, she would simply stay by Gideon's side more consistently. Range especially had seen the potential between the two adults, perhaps before they had recognized it themselves. "Haven't they always known?" Her grin was sly, because on some level, everyone else had known before Gideon or herself.

okay, maybe this once <3

Nayru answered and Saul was just a bit surprised by the answer. It was perhaps just a little ironic that he'd called upon Nayru to explain herself just the morning after everything had changed in his brothers life. Saul chuckled softly, thinking of the day before when he and Wretch had visited the male- nothing had changed for him then and now his life had turned itself over. Saul was happy that Gideon had finally managed to convince Nayru to admit her feelings- it was painfully obvious for everyone involved that the two were fated to be together. Saul nodded softly, still feeling a little foolish for having come here in the first place. But if he hadnt, he never would have found out the good news. Or he would have done, but later and it perhaps would have been a little bit easier than this confrontation. With his body relaxed, he'd moved forward to plant a kiss on her cheek, while he strong arms held him in place long enough to return the gesture.

Her twittering laugh was a shock- Saul had rarely heard the faerie girl laugh and he hadn't really ever seen her this happy. She thanked him, conferring that she was happy as well. His overactive imagination jumped forward, wondering when the two would be having children for Saul to look after. It bought on horrible images of his brother and Nayru up to certain things in their bedroom that Saul instantly rejected. That was disgusting. Still, he couldnt help mention with a grin; "So when am I going to get some more nieces and nephews?" He joked, hoping she wouldnt take it seriously. In truth, it wasnt a serious question. He would get more nieces and nephews whenever the two were ready and Saul refused to think about what had to happen for him to see some tiny puppies around here.

Her words caused him to chuckle once again and he thought back to his nephew's eagerness to see the two together. Of course, the feeling was perhaps not reciprocated by Melee, who had always expressed a preferrence for her male family members. But either way, Nayru and Gideon were together, as they had been most of their lives even if it wasnt in the way that they now were. "I guess you're right. Haven't we all known this was coming?" He laughed, rubbing a creamy paw over her own right arm. He was pleased for them both, but it set his mind to other things. Like him and Siku. She was so absent these days that he had no idea where she even was. It was hard to see his brothers happiness and be totally unsure of his own.

OOC: Need to close this up Honey XD it's getting too old for me. Sorry I was so SLOW.

Saul's next words did not diminish the smile from Nayru's face, yet neither did they increase the size of her grin. Children? Saul seemed worlds ahead of either her or Gideon. Hardly had she gotten use to the idea of committing her private self to Gideon, she couldn’t imagine trying to care for pups anytime soon. Ichika no Ho-en was her child, and every moment not spent on Gideon or herself was dedicated to the entirety of the pack. There simply wasn't time to bring new life into the world just yet, and perhaps with the demands of her rank, ever. Yet the possibility was there and so she merely smiled at the man and shrugged a shrug that simply said "I don't know."

Saul kept the questions coming with "Haven't we all known?" and again Nayru was at a loss. She hadn’t known, and she believed that for a time Gideon too had been left in the dark. It seemed like some strange joke that everyone else had seen what Nayru herself could not. So often she was aware of the small details that others missed, and often she read others as well if not better than they knew themselves. It almost made the girl seem telepathic at times, and yet for all the seemingly supernatural knowledge she had the two toned girl had been blind to herself.

"Some of us were caught by surprise." The simple words were still carefree and pleased, for the girl still felt dizzy by all that had happened during the last night. Yet to stay and over analyze the situation with Saul seemed as if it might take away some of the magic that she wanted to savor just then. Nayru was glad that she had shared the news with the man, but Saul really needed to celebrate with his brother. It was more fitting that they two be having this conversation, for Nayru was still largely a loner, prone to thinking over everything all on her own. Again she pulled him into an embrace and before pulling away left him with a whispery suggestion. "I'm sure Gideon would like to share the good news with you, yeah?"

not a problem dearest <3

While it was impossible for him to notice the slight droop in her mood, or perhaps the confusion his words created, there was a sense that his words had not gone down well. He pushed the thoughts aside- there was nothing he could do to take them back nor would he want to, plus it was just a feeling that he might have said the wrong thing not an actual observation. Her shrug made him chuckle softly- for all intents and purposes she was still his leader right now despite her relationship with Gideon. It would take a little while for her to fully assimilate into the family and even then she would be veiwed as Gideon's mate or Nayru the leader. He had no idea what role she would play within their own family dynamic but it was a game of time. She would be what she was and nobody could either tell her what to be or guess what would happen. What would be would be.

Her warm tones bought him back from overthinking too much about the feeling that had settled in his gut. The words were friendly and Saul allowed a softly smile in return. "Of course" He murmered before her body had enveloped him once more. For the first time he wondered what his brother and his new mate had gotten up to last night and his skin crawled in an unpleasent feeling. He had no idea that they had not consumated their partnership and the thought that he was touching the same skin that his brother may had touched in an altogether alien way to Saul was too much. Without offending her he moved back after their embrace was done and gave a soft nod at her suggestion that he should go and find Gideon. He had a lot to discuss with him anyway, without this news on his mind.

"I will. Thank you for putting my mind at ease Nayru. I'll see you soon."

He said before quickly exiting the temporary house in which they had set up camp. His sights were set on the East River, which he intended to bathe in before heading out to see his brother. The thought that he had touched the same fur as his brother was still something that he didnt know how to deal with, so washing away the evidence was probably the best course of action. Shifting into his lupus form to cover the distance quicker he made it to the river and dived in, holding his breath for a good minute before resurfacing and washing himself.
