The chocolate coated male grinned as he made his way deeper into the claimed territory of his family’s pack. It was almost too good to be true. He had never been much of the family guy, if he had been a bit more emotional, he would have given himself the nickname of being the black sheep in the pack of the white ones, but he was all right with it, found the fact that he would meet up with them quite cozy. Confusion had struck him for a couple of moments as the godly scent of his dearly beloved mother had waved at him at the pack borders. He had always known she was a precious angel, but that she had abilities to cheat both him and death was new info that he had not been aware of earlier. He did not really mind, it would just be a reminder that he had to do his job better next time. Yes, there would be a next time.

“Inside, what a wonderful caricature of intimacy.” His voice was hushed, low, and beautiful. The rain was so light it barely targeted him with more than a few drops, and his little song would make it all go away and tempt the sun forth to shine on the most awesome being that had ever walked on the earth. Oh now he just could not wait to see his beloved pretty big sister Mew. He did not know the name of the city in front of him, nor did he care. Mew was there somewhere, and she was to receive the best surprise in the world, the homecoming of her baby brother Haku! He did of course not know if she was close by, but too bad for her if she was not. Her smell could not fool though. ”Honey, I’m home!”

This time his merry and pretty voice could be heard from quite a distance. It was not a howl, rather a loud shout, a bait to attract pretty white females that were related to him. Pretty females that were named Mew Sadira.

She'd laid there for a while, but she didn't know why. She hated the room, yet she could not make herself leave it. Traces of what had happened were cleaned away, but it still smelled like hell in her head. Her body would heal, but would her soul? Maybe she should move her den somewhere else once she had the energy to. Not far, just.. another house, not here. Then again.. she had chosen it because it seemed like one of the few less dangerous places to live. It could prove fatal to her grief to stay, however. She lay there thinking, but she didn't really know what she was thinking about. She wished she had not woken up to learn the truth.

A familiar voice broke through the silence and her thoughts. What, Haku? but.. he disappeared a long time ago. Then again, so had she. The ivory female felt a smile break out on her face, an honestly happy one, the kind that had not graced her with its presence in a long long time. How random, that he, of all people, her brother, here, when she'd just returned herself? Had she been able to, the female would have bolted out of the house, happily greeting the single family member which actually seemed connected with her aside from in blood. Tail wagging softly, Mew got up with a wince, and started stomping down the stairs as fast as her broken body would allow her to. Just to make sure he knew she was coming, she called out to him, though not in words. The howl was not loud, it was as loud as it needed to be for him to hear, and it told him what she could not express; the joy of coming to greet him again. It was far too long since they had last played and hunted each other through the forests of Clouded Tears.

He granted her a minute to make her arrival, and furrowed his eyebrows in confusion as the minute went by and there was no happy white form to greet him. That was not needed, why did she fail pleasing him already? The male was not a fan of the word patience, and so he merrily padded further into the city, still humming the pretty song from the long dead human band, Panic. A howl rose from somewhere unexpected close by, and he felt content about his darling sister once more. She was happy. That was a very good thing. Two happy beings had happy times together. Joy jolted through his body and resulted in a weird sort of jump, his hind legs taking a weird turn in the air along with an unstable half piece of a tail that spun in the air like a flag. One could say it was similar to critter jumps when they were happy, he had watched them often before he decided that they were to be meal, and apparently one becomes a bit of what one eats.

He did not bother waiting around for her to come to him, but continued his trot in her direction, a sincere smile upon his handsome features. As he rounded a street corner, he set his extremely blue eyes on the white and pink being coming his way. Blood was hard to get out of white fur once it had dried. He could not remember her being pink last time he had seen her. Pink was the new black though, and everyone knew that girls loved pink, so he was not all that surprised really, just interested. He tilted his head and smirked, making his way towards the female. ”Aw, look at you. My darling, you have never looked worse.” He said it in the merry tones of ’you have never looked better’, but the words were quite different, but Haku still meant it as a compliment. It hinted to a fact that Mew actually once had been pretty, and that was a nice thing to say. That people were pretty. Being one himself, Haku did like other pretty people.

Well he looks as chappy as he ever had, she thought, still smiling as he came to greet her on her way to him. He looked well. And quite content. When she thought back though, she couldn't really think of a time when he hadn't looked content, he usually fixed things up rather nicely for himself. Stomping over to him, she very nearly smashed her face into his furs as an attempt at hugging him. She did, however, need all her legs for balance, so it would have to do. He spoke, and once she heard what he had to say she laughed loudly, little trilling sounds escaping from her throat. Her gloom was forgotten for the time being, or hidden far away in her brain somewhere; she shouldn't sit and be sad when there were was a brother here to greet! She wondered whether he meant the fact that she probably looked like hell.. or.. well she did, and Haku said silly things sometimes. Maybe it was a male thing, or maybe it was just a Haku thing. Cocking her head she thought about it for a split second and decided that it was probably a Haku thing.

Haha, why thank you, little brother! Such a compliment. She winked at him, pretty much anything he said would go down well with her now. Such a good surprise, and it warmed her heart. She had needed something like this. And Colibri would probably be delighted too, and Melisande. Even though they were distant to each other, Haku might very well serve well linking them all together. She kept wagging her tail as she spoke again, giving him another nudge with her nose. Legs shook where she stood but she ignored it. You've, as it seems, possibly caught me at my ugliest. But enough about that! How are you and all of that polite crap? She would delight in hearing what he had been up to, and thus sat down on her haunches, ready for story time.

She crashed halfway into him probably thinking he liked rough cuddling, but in a way it was quite pleasing to feel his sister so close up, showing her appreciation of his arrival. Maybe he had missed her. Just a little bit. A tiny little bit. His words had been too true, she looked like hell and worse. He gently rested his muzzle upon her neck, a rare move of affection from him to his messed up sibling. Haku knew well how a beaten up wolf looked like, and this was yet another one. His blue eyes stared out into nothing beyond the sea of the white fur of his sister’s body. His mind returned as she spoke, and he closed his eyes for a swift moment, absorbing Mew’s voice. Beautiful, it was.

He was not sure if he was to offer her to lean on him, because her legs did not seem to want to carry her much. She was weak. Meaning; her body was weakened, torn, beaten up. He knew how to play nice, and he wanted to be nice with this nice relative of his. He moved a bit back and caught the little wink from her, and listened to more talk and a question. The chocolate colored male liked the way she expressed herself. ’and all of that polite crap’. He kept his smirk and eye contact. He had been up to quite a bit since they last had been together, but some of it he should bother her pretty little head with. ”I’m as handsome and great as I look, Mewmew.” It was true!

He let his eyes flash over her body, and she could look long after the story of his magnificent life out in the wild. ”Why are you fat?” The question came as he thought that same sentence in his mind. Because, she was. Of course, a year or so had changed them. While Haku had built up a bit more size and muscles, Mew had apparently started eating.

Once again laughter escaped her throat as he spoke, surely, he had not changed. She wondered whether he remembered their play as puppies, especially the one time she had beaten him. It would serve him right to be cocky, but she liked it, really. Losing in anything against Haku was completely fine by her, she was fond of him despite his immense ego. He was king of the world in his mind, and even if she could perhaps bring him down a few steps by reminding him of that little failure, she did not want to. This was, after all, how he was, and why she liked him.

The second thing he said, though, made her look at him in a quizzical way. Surely he had seen a pregnant female before? Perhaps he hadn't. It amused her, if he actually did not know "why she was fat". Well, brother, this isn't just fat you know. She smiled at him like only a big sister can, indulgent, as if she was mentally giving him a pat on the head for his lack of brains to figure it out. She meant nothing insulting by it, and she trusted him to know that. The question put a little dark blanket over her now so cheery mood though, as if the sun went away behind some clouds and only shone half as bright as before. She braced herself, and hoped she did not have to relive the incident in her own words, but answered his question. I've been pregnant. It was easier to say than she thought, but instantly, instinctively, she looked away, and in the direction of her den. She had not wanted to be reminded of the fact that she had been pregnant. She would rather be carrying still.

Even though Mew did not say what she thought and Haku had no idea what she was thinking, there was some facts that he would obviously have made clear if she had voiced the corrupted memories from their childhood. Haku had never lost a game, and he actually was the king of the world. Was it his fault that no one else had the ability to grasp that amazing fact? No. Anyways. Her laughter danced into his ears and filled him with music. He had not said anything funny, only stating facts, but that was all right, he did not mind listening to her sweet laugh. She looked at him quite oddly as he asked why he was fat. He had seen pregnant females, and the thought had of course tugged him gently in the ear, but it could of course also have been some extra weight from good meals.

That special smile reserved for him appeared in his sister’s face, and for an odd reason Haku himself too wanted to let out a chuckle, but of course he did not. His smile faded as she revealed that she had been pregnant, but his eyes were still beaming with the past cheerful mood they both had been in moments before he ruined it. It was probably something sad for her, but Haku had not gained nor lost anything, so he was not touched by the tragedy he guessed just had happened. Unfortunately for her, Haku went his own ways and always said what he wanted to say, even if it did not suit others. ”Where are the babies?” After a birth there should have been a lot of baby Mews running around, but he could not see any. Why was that.

eh, short post

Indeed. where were the puppies. Somewhere else, that's what. She had not visited them yet, so she did not know exactly where they lay. A taste of salty tears to remind her of her loss appeared on her tongue, but she did not cry. She never liked crying in front of others, and was quite cheered up now, if temporarily. She would let it pass, even if her heart had turned itself inside out and back again in a split second. While last question had been bad enough to answer, she now hesitated. She looked at him, green eyes meeting his so very different, yet equally radiant, blue eyes. Taking a breath in Mew looked to the ground, realizing that the wound on her stomach was quite revealing in the position she held. They died.. I barely made it, I think. It was just a few nights ago. Her voice was not as cheery as it had been just moments before; a bitterness slowly seeped into it and corrupted its normally gracious sound. Just a few days, and so bitter already. She hoped she would not turn into one of those wolves who could not let go of the past. Now, however, the past was present, in her mind, and she was reliving it over and over again without anyone asking her if she wanted to. Her tail was no longer wagging, and Mew looked up at her baby brother again, hoping he would not ask any more questions to bring her to her knees. She was so close to the ground already.

He was tactless, he was very aware of that, but it did not change who he was, how he was, his actions. That was the thing with Haku, he lacked something to make him less direct. Her answer confirmed his silent guess. He was in need of proper proof. He did not understand the extreme sadness that came over her, but he accepted it, knowing he had ripped up a wound that hurt her mentally. Well, that was how things were, and why should he avoid facts. He was just catching up, and she would soon enough learn to be grateful for the assistance he could offer. Back to the presence, Haku was secretly a bit relieved for the lack of baby Mews, one was more than enough, and it made her so special and unique.

She looked at him in a rather pitiful way, but Haku kept his eyes locked to hers, his face taking no part in her sorrow, simply because he did not. This was how the world was, things happened. Both good things and bad things. He saw her wounds. Both on her belly and the rest of it. He could see it all, and he did not approve of what he saw. ”Who is to be blamed for your condition?” His voice made it sound like a general question as if about the weather, there was no anger or emotion in it. It was just a simple question.

He did not ask for any details of the incident, and it relieved her. That didn't mean he stopped asking questions, but she did no longer have to voice what had happened to rip her heart out into the open. Haku would be Haku, and while it might not be entirely true that he did not care about her loss, he certainly wasn't affected by it. He seemed... cold, where he stood. Any other wolf Mew knew of would perhaps have felt awkward, or apologized, or just.. something, but Haku did not. That wasn't how he was. Right to business, no mucking about. He had picked up on the fact that this wasn't just the birth messing her up, then. Maybe it wasn't hard to notice, she had no idea what she looked like. Mirroring surfaces was avoided these days, in fear or what she might see. However, she did not intend to just spill the beans. In fact, by her own measures, it was all her own fault. Stupidity had done this to her, her own lack of brains.

Well.. It is my own fault, really. She straightened her posture, as if ready to take a scolding. She was scolding herself daily, and it was so obvious that it was her own fault, so why shouldn't he? He liked to be right. He was, in fact, occasionally wrong, but he would never believe it himself. And the one who speaks a false statement, believing it to be truth, sees that as the truth, and thus isn't a liar. Perhaps that was why Haku was always so sure of himself. He ruled the world he perceived, and thus nothing in it could possibly be against his favor.

He sat down gently on the cool half wet pavement, letting his two third tail curl around his forepaws as good as it could. He wanted to throw out a rude yawn at his sister as she mumbles something about something being her own fault. That was not the question he had asked, so why did she trail of like that? Maybe it had been her fault, maybe not, but that was so extremely far from the point that it was almost a little bit ridiculous. Others were sometimes. Mew was right in her mind, Haku liked to be right. There was not a yes or no option in his question though, he was fishing for facts. If it was her fault then she could go cry to someone else about it while he did his thing. Ah, yes. Haku already had plans for the nearest future, and he actually had to make a little effort out of not letting a smile bloom into his face.

Instead of scolding her or whatever the light female in front of him expected, he decided to be patient for once and wait for the right answer to leave her lips and reach his chocolate ears. His big sister would tell him everything, because he was her beloved brother. If the answer satisfied him then he would even leave the tender topic and make their world merry again somehow. He just wanted to know, that was all. So innocent. His eyebrows lifted a bit as he watched the green eyed female. He wondered what the puppies would have looked like if they had lived.

The scolding or harsh words she expected did not come. Instead, he looked as if he was bored, simply looking at her. Indifferent, or maybe even patient with her, in the way a parent would be patient to a child. Mew let out a sigh. He would not give up then. She kept her pose, this time in a proud manner rather than protective, and took a breath in, both to gather courage to speak, and to start to tell him how it all went balls up. I accidentally ended up on Inferni land. They have reformed since we all got here, and they're about as hostile as they used to be. A coyote decided I was dinner and attacked me without warning. I managed to mess her leg up quite badly though, and got away, but barely. And then.. well, this.

There. That wasn't so hard, if she managed to ignore her heart desperately trying to destroy itself within her ribcage. The whole situation was very odd, to Mew. How Haku simply sat there and offered little to no consolation, he was so cold. At least when they were pups he had been showing more emotion than that, had he not? Or perhaps she was wrong, she could basically just remember him being cheerful, never in distress or showing much empathy. He was odd, her little brother, and despite the hollow inside her at repeating her story, there was still that little flame of warmth in her heart that grew when she looked at him. His act of coldness would not be enough to quench it.

Maybe he was cold. He did not know nor care what others may were thinking of him. He just had an amazing ability to distance himself from the rest of the world. Nothing in the world could shake his core, he was watching it all though the glass, making sure everything was played by his own rules. That was his illusion at least. As long as he believed it himself, there was no reason to worry. Haku did not even know the meaning of the word. He did not like her looking so tense in her pose, but for once he knew better than to speak out. There were limits even for him. His lack of reaction seemed to work, and his pretty sister began to talk, and this time there was some things that he wanted. His face did not change as she started, but when he was sure she had nothing more to say about that case, he let a small smile sneak up on his lips, blue eyes beaming as before he began digging in her misfortune.

He did not like her standing out here, so he got up again and wagged his tail carelessly, letting his face turn to the direction she had come from. He wanted to take her back to where she was safe. ”Are you far from home, girlie?” Yes, Haku had now officially changed subject, and it would stay that way. He threw a glance at her, gesturing with a slight tilt of his head that they should begin to move. He slowly took a few steps, eager to get her into movement so that he could adjust to her walking paste. She had apparently been badly hurt, and it shone though. Why was she alone anyway? Mew could easily be a prey, shouldn’t they take care of her? Colibri’s scent was here, but not very strong, so she was not nearby at the moment. A distant mother, how sad.

Looking at him, head cocked, Mew tried to figure out what she thought of his response. It seemed as if it was only him that mattered, or so his reaction mirrored. He had deftly dodged her questions, but it was not as if she did not want to hear about him. She was already living through the juicy gossip of her failure that she had served him, and he should pay something back. This shouldn't be like an interrogation, it should be a conversation; a reunion. But, he did seem as if he had some.. purpose. Perhaps he wanted to catch up to everyone else as well. She wouldn't steal his time, and it wasn't because she felt as if she wasn't worth it. She didn't in particular suffer from feelings of lesser worth, but if her brother had other things to do she would let him, after all, he had probably only just arrived. She would, however, make very clear that she expected stories.

Nah, I live right over there, and up a few stairs. Mew turned to point to the building which she had come from. Girlie, haha, as if she was that if anything. She was female - well spotted - but she wasn't exactly girly; Mew knew very well that the world was not all flowers and butterflies. She wished she could have that perception though, it would be a nice vacation from her current state of mind. Mew had taken the hint though; the conversation was over from Haku's point of view. She let him have his close on the encounter, but it was not obedience or humbleness. He was just like that, and she liked to let him have his way. He liked to be able to control what happened in his life, perhaps more so in relation to others than other persons would, and she liked to let him do what he liked. After all, she was not his mother, merely his sister. She smiled again at him, and with effort lifted her body into a standing position. When she spoke again she felt the more happy feeling from before rise in her again, it was funny how he had the power to do that. She lifted her tail from its droopy pathetic position and winked at him. You know, I expect you to tell me more about what you've been up to next time I see you, and I also expect it to be soon, little brother.

Me avslutte her bare, så tar eg Colibri konfrontasjonen i Kris sin thread istedet.

Actually, Haku had not meant this to be goodbye, but as Mew took it that way, he figured it was just as good. He knew what he wanted to do, and unfortunately for other beings, he would actually do it. Mew did not have to know of his plans, she would probably begin with emotional crap that he did not feel like hearing. This would probably affect him most anyway, and he could always handle drama. It was what his little demon lived for anyway. Mew was always understanding in front of him, she accepted his own way of being, and he actually appreciated that. Maybe this was the reason he felt comfortable with her. Usually he felt indifference together with other individuals, but Mew always had been able to offer company that he meant was soothing. There was an odd sort of meaning for a change. That is why he would do anything for her. Because it was Mew.

As she smiled, he grinned back at her, revealing nothing of the little fun he wanted to set out to life. It would be beautiful. She said a few words more, and he threw a solitary nod in her direction. This was not the last time she would see him. He would be back for a more proper visit, making it worthwhile for her as well. That was the least he could give her. In the meantime he could try come up with some story to tell her. Haku was not fond of lying, but some things would be better off the topic. He needed to talk with Cercelee, find out how much she had shared with the rest. Obviously Mew did know nothing of Haku’s daughter. Good. A sting of guilt struck him as he thought of his little baby girl. Colibri Haki matched him in appearance, they were the perfect father and daughter. He had messed it up a bit though, but no one but he needed to know, so it was all good.

”Your little brother will be back with more gossip. You have not seen the last of me, but rest now, I will come back.” He would, he would protect Mew from the cruel world that had treated her so unfairly. Sure, if she had jumped around in Inferni lands, then he could probably understand. Here was where his amazing ability to create his own truth kicked in. He did not want to understand, there was no justice in what the coyote had done. Haku had his own version of justice, and he would be nothing but happy to educate others. ”I will take care of you, because I happen to care occasionally.” A last warm smile was offered to the white female, then he turned his back at her and walked back the same way as he had come. He would not run off yet, but he wanted to be alone and think before the fun was to begin.
