Early in the morning yesterday Alaki had knocked on his door, injuries still fairly fresh, asking if he could help him out in the caves the next day. So here he stood at the entrance of the cave system alone and irritated. It wasn't like he could say no to the guy. Alaki was quite a bit taller than the coydog and with him being injured it would have been poor manners. He didn't know why the dark wolf wanted to tag along anyway, the caves were pretty boring for the most part. Over the past month he had found empty room after empty room leading to, surprise!, more empty rooms. The only thing that kept him in this job was knowing that he could spend a full day without talking to anyone and maybe, just maybe, he might find some sore of mineral.

Looking around he started tapping his foot irritably. How slow could Alaki he move? Even with the injuries it couldn't be that bad, right? Giuseppe was far from a patient man and in his boredom he began flipping through his sketch book. There didn't seem to be anything interesting in the caves. He had marked down a couple of small passages which looked like they led to another area but he had been just too big to fit through the narrow pathways. Eventually he would find some more tools and chip away at the rock and make his way through but for now he just wanted to see what else he could find. He had even started to build fire pits and was about ready to ask Theodore to get the fire started to keep fires going for him but for now he had two lanterns at his feet, one for him and one for the wolf he waited on.

(WC: 320 - Slow kitty be slow? >.<)

Carefully he moved through the dark tunnels, cradling the various items he would need for the coming encounter. Knowing the nature of the darker Trovato he knew the coming conversation wasn’t going to be neither easy nor enjoyable; his only hope was that the items he held within his arms were a good enough bribe, along with the possibility that Giuseppe wouldn’t attack an injured wolf. Otherwise, he was screwed. Taking his time as to not strain himself and his injuries he moved with confidence through the maze of twists and turns, his katana’s sheath knocking into his thigh with each stride. Normally he would blend in well with his darker surroundings, but now he wore stark white bandages around his torso; an unavoidable reminder of his stupidity and a clear sign that said ‘injured idiot’.

Knowing that his slow pace was no doubt driving the dog insane he took a little more time than which he really should have needed; a small attempt to avoid the inevitable conversation. Despite the amount of thought he’d put into this encounter he wasn’t entirely sure how to go about this, for he couldn’t exactly go up to the brown male and go ‘by the way, I’m marrying your brother’ out of the blue; sure, he and Teo hadn’t be exactly discreet regarding their building friendship turned relationship, but he was pretty sure the white one’s brother wasn’t aware of the extent of his and Teo’s relationship.

Sighing, he caught the scent of the other male and knew he was drawing near the designated meeting spot. Clenching his jaw, he cleared the corner, finally making his way too the cave's entrance and saw the Trovato male before him. “Sorry I’m late”he called out, his voice indicating that he wasn’t the slightest bit sorry and to top things of he grinned, “'Ave fun waiting?”

Things were off to a great, friendly start it seemed.

The mud-splotched coydog was still blissfully naive to his brother’s affair with the large dark wolf. In fact, he was blissfully unaware of most relationships in the pack. He had never been one for ‘settling down’ or getting hitched. It was a senseless tradition in his business like mind. The only real benefit was the sex and there was no point in having the same girl over and over when you could just go out into the city and get laid by a different broad every night. There was simply nothing in his brain that had managed to trigger a need to be loyal to anyone, especially something he could fuck and leave. Had he known of the possibility that his brother had these urges Teo would have been removed form the pack a long time ago and they would have found refuge somewhere in Halifax, far from the packs.

As it was, Giuseppe stood waiting for the very male that had stolen his brother’s heart without him ever noticing. He knew the two were friends but Giuseppe would never consider a Trovato and a wolf being mates as a possibility and he had wrongly assumed that Matteo held the same values. The scent filled his long nose before the larger male turned the corner. Biting his tongue he held back a nasty comment when Alaki apologized. “Fun. Is that what that was?” He asked with sarcasm dripping from his muzzle. “Let’s just get the fuck going, alright?” Shifting the messenger bag on a broad shoulder he began to move forward, lantern in his hand. Hopefully the sorry excuse for a cripple would be able to keep up. The light form the lantern, mixed with the odd fire here and there was enough light for the canines to see comfortably without their eye’s adjusting to the darkness. “There’s a hole up here I’ve been working on opening up more. There seems to be another room on the other side.” It wasn’t uncommon that a narrow passage would lead to many more rooms in this cave system, it was just a matter of picking away the stone.

WC:308+ - No internet so will be slow to reply @_@

Unsurprisingly, the hybrid seemed … frustrated by how the snail pace he had taken to get to their designated meeting spot. Although he hadn’t completely gone slowly intentionally, a small, twisted part of his mind was pleased to see that he’d managed to irritate the other male, whilst a contradicting part of his mind pointed out how stupid annoying the brown Trovato was, especially considering that he needed the hybrid in a good mood when he ‘popped’ the question. Juggling his load around in his arms, he secured a singular bottle of some alcoholic substance and offered it up to the male in an attempt to lighten the mood. The first part of his poorly thought out plan was to get Giu drunk… after that the details were pretty sketchy. In short- he was practically winging the entire situation; something he hadn’t really done before, being a wolf that loved his plots and plans, acting without one or the other to follow was strange and somewhat unsettling. “Okay, maybe not fun for you.” He admitted shamelessly.

“And have a drink, got more where that come from” he tilted his head in the direction of the bottles he carried. “An injured wolf like me carrying all this booze and you wonder why I took so long..” he muttered under his breath loudly. As the other headed down the caves he followed without paying much attention to his surroundings; all his concentration was fixed on the other male, assessing his mood and trying desperately to figure out the best course of action.

“Another room, huh?” he repeated like some parrot. After moving to AT he had mapped out & fair few section of the caves himself; such maps were his last resort at bribing the Trovato male into his good books if his voice of reason and booze idea failed.

The grumpy hybrid took only a few steps before Alaki grabbed his attention. Turnings his head around he fully took in the sight of the bottles. How had he missed that? “Heh…didn’t notice.” Grabbing a bottle from the crippled man lazily Giuseppe turned away once again, biting the cap off with his sharp teeth. If he was going to make it through the next couple hours with a large and dumb wolf he might as well start drinking now. He had no faith in the existence of wolves, they were laborers, and coyote’s and dogs were thinkers. Yet the hybrid could not grasp his mind around the fact that here wolves ran wild and free, even lead groups while the dogs and coyote’s seemed to be loners or followers. Perhaps somewhere in Canada there were like minded coyote’s or mixes but for not he lived in his own bubble.

Grumpily drinking from a bottle with one hand and holding a lantern with the other the mix followed his memory further into the caves. Every now and then a fire would mark the path well known to the fire makers but he was headed further into the darkness, where the fires stopped. The Trovato was in love with the darkness that now surrounded them, the faint light from the lantern more than enough for canine eyes. Suddenly he stopped, moving to put his lantern down. Already he had quickly consumed half of the bottle in his frustration with the hobbling idiot behind him. Grabbing a spare pick and hammer from his belt the hybrid held the tools out towards Alaki. Before them the light lingered on the rock, which had a crack around 4 inches wide already. If you were to look with canine eyes through the crack it was clear that behind the rock wall, which stood about a meter thick, there was another room. “Well, make yourself useful.”

WC:366+ - ooc

As expected, the hybrid snagged a bottle already and seemed more than willing to drink himself into oblivion with the right push here and there. Shifting the bottles in his arms to a more comfortable position he began to follow the brown toned male, choosing to stay silent for now and allow the other to lead; it was always easier to follow another and react to what they do than to lead people to where you want them, something the young warrior had experience more than once. Canines, especially opinionated and prideful ones hated having others manipulate their actions and so to get the result he wanted from this meeting he was going to have to be carefully, and yet the more he panicked and told himself to tip toe silently, the more and more he found himself questioning if he truly needed the others approval to his and teo's mate ship, for at the end of the day they were going to be mates regardless of what Giuseppe said and all he had to loose was his and the hybrid's vague business relationship.

Maybe that's why he sought the others approval, for he was more often than not in trouble it was somewhat reassuring to know there was someone whom would have your back; admittedly for a price, but regardless, it seemed as if he was blowing the whole situation out of proportion... his thoughts were interrupted by the other male handing him a pick and hammer. Gingerly, he placed the bottles down on the ground to one side and took the offered tools and then moved so that he was before the wall, placing the tools in their relevant places and beginning to work, without speaking a word to the other male. Ideas filled his mind, thoughts of delaying the inevitable and such were pleasing and more than tempting, but Giuseppe was due to find out at some point so it was better hearing it from him rather than a complete stranger.

“Just so you know, there will be a wedding of sorts soon.” he said, continuing his work, eyes focused on the rocky surface before him. “Me and Matteo are to become mates”.
