backdated to o.o after the conspiracy thread Big Grin

It had not been long since he had met Ayasha in the town center and they had talked and he had patrolled the borders with her but the word he had would not wait for him to catch up with friends and demanded attention whether he felt like doing it or not. He was beginning to regain some of the feeling in his broken fingers at last besides the pain. Not much but it was enough to reassure him that he would not be handicapped forever. His work quality had slipped as a result of his injuries, it took him longer to do simple duties, jobs that used to take him five minutes or less were now a half an hour battle, simply getting to the stables from his house was a challenge, carrying him well into the morning hours as opposed to the early time he had gotten there before.

As a result of his late arrival and him taking longer than normal to actually get on with his duties, the man was pushed into late nights that lasted forever and were slowly draining him of any and all energy. So he ploughed away at his work, slowly his body began to fail him more and more as the days went by.

IC: When Ayasha had met with Leon to talk about AniWaya’s current condition, she had noticed that he was in pain and decided that he needed help with his duties. Whether he thought so or not. So she got up and went hunting before doing a quick patrol of the borders. They were thankfully rather quiet. She was glad since she was one of two scouts in the Tribe. She muttered to herself, What would be nice is having more scouts. Of course she knew that not many people would be coming with the new leadership. Plus, she was rather biased towards scouting.

She headed back to the village and entered the stables in hopes that Leon would be there. She first, though, went over to Inez and made sure the yearling male was fed and clean. Ya know, Inez, sometimes I wish I was a horse like you. Then all these troubles wouldn’t bother me as much. She sighed and rubbed his nose. But you still can tell that we’re all troubled can’t you? He nodded his head in agreement with her.

She glanced around and saw Leon. He seemed worse than when she last saw him. Leon? You OK? Do you want some help? She looked at him with concerned eyes. Ayasha didn’t want her edutsi to die.

ooc; Wink What does Edutsi mean? I'm not very familiar with AniWayan XD

He was so consumed within himself that he didn't even notice the young female scout come into the stables. He was busy cleaning out some of the stalls at the back of the stables, the ones that were empty for the moment. He had been hoping he could work his way along instead of having to go in a random pattern, it was always a pain to have to try and remember which ones had been done and which ones hadn't especially as their owners came back in and made more mess. Blisters covered the already calloused hands, some of which had popped and were leaking fluid and blood which made the handle of the pitchfork slippery so that he had to keep wiping his hands upon his fur.

He finally noticed Ayasha and stopped his shoving for the moment, "Hola Ayasha. Help would be greatly appreciated." He looked around trying to find a job that would assist him and yet be doable for the small almost woman. He looked down at the pitchfork in his hand, she could muck out the stalls while he went into the tack room and drag out new bags of feed. He wiped the handle of it on a piece of cloth and held it out for her to take hold of,

"Eeeef you wouldn't mind mucking out the stalls, while I bring out some new feed and hay, it would be a great help."

She would have giggled at the appearance of Leon if he didn’t look in so much pain. She was angry that the mean man had hurt one of her “uncles.” And it was all because of Maska. She really disliked the man. Inez neighed almost as if he could read her mind and was in agreement. Ayasha glanced at Inez and gave a slight smirk. She petted him on the head and went out of his stall, closing it behind her.

She gave him a smile but frowned as he handed her a pitchfork. What would she do with a pitchfork? It was way taller than her and it seemed like it would be impossible for her to even pick up. She did reach out for it and realized that it wasn’t all that heavy. But she could tell it would be awkward to try and use.

Her frown increased as Leon explained what she was going to do. What is mucking and and how do I do it? She didn’t mind getting dirty but she had never done this “mucking” before. She assumed it was what he was doing but didn’t want to risk doing something wrong. She heard Inez nickering at her, almost laughing at her. She turned to face him and gave him a glare.

The man slapped his forehead with a shake of his head as he realised he had held out a full sized pitch fork to the young girl. The pained man grinned sheepishly at her for his mistake and took back the huge pitchfork, it was specially made for him to use by his own hands. He turned from the woman to be and placed his fork against the wall, and began rummaging around in a pile in the corner for a minute or so until with an exclamation of spanish he pulled out a more normal sized one, it would be small enough for the white female to use rather than his too large one. He smiled at her question, and as the foal appeared to laugh at her,

"Mucking out is where you clean out the dirt and mess the horses leave behind. It can be hard work sometimes so if you are having troubles just be letting me know." He gestured for her to follow him deeper into the stables and stopped by a stall he had not yet mucked out. With a father's extensive patience the man showed her how to collect the horse's droppings and dirty hay with the fork and deposit it in wheelbarrow that was nearby already containing some fecal matter, more than likely the work would strain her muscles that were not used to being used but it was all good and would help her to build them up. The smell of it did not bother him in the slightest for it was one he had grown up with and reminded him fondly of his Ma and Da.

He left the ivory girl to herself so she could get started and walked even further into the stables to grab hold of a large sack of feed that needed moving closer to the front, the bag probably weighed about half of his own weight and would have dwarfed the young female working with him, with some amount of effort, a lot of grunting and a few more torn open wounds the man managed to shift the huge sack to where he wanted it.

Ayasha grinned at him and shrugged her shoulders at Leon’s mistake. It wasn’t that big of a deal. But her face lit up when he brought out a much smaller pitchfork. ”Thank you, that is much better.” She took and knew that it would be easier to handle than the massive one that he used.

Her nose turned up slightly at the smell of the stalls but didn’t say anything, listening to the instructions of how to muck. It didn’t sound hard but she knew that her muscles would be sore. But she nodded that she understood and got to work. She scooped up the droppings and put them in the wheelbarrow. She could tell that her arms would eventually get tired but she figured that she could use more muscles anyway.

She smiled at his grunting but frowned, as she smelled blood from his wounds being torn open. ”Leon, are you OK?” She was worried but finished one stall and was about to move onto the next one. At least he’s not swearing. She smiled at that thought. She headed to the next one and started working on it, her muscles already starting to feel sore and burning. She wondered if that was how it was supposed to be.

lalala sorry for the wait

He wiped the sweat from his brow as the bag was finally in the place where it should be, ever since Liliana had been removed from master down to Itse Leon had found himself here more and more than usual trying to help her do the duties she was no longer allowed to do. It was very tiring to do all of the work himself but he didn't let on that it was slowly chipping away at him. Ayasha's voice floated down to him and he replied,

"Si, I am fine, eet is hard work, even for me." He came out from the storage room, looking perfectly at ease with bloody slowly crawling down his calves and biceps. One of the horses snorted nearby and reached out his head to try to nip at him playfully, he recognised it as Buck, the horse that had bucked off Shanta not long after he had joined AniWaya and the reason he had met Ayasha as well for the first time. He tapped the horse on the nose and the stallion snorted and shook his head before pulling it back over the door to munch at his hay.

He picked up his larger specialised pitchfork and placed it out of the way against the wall before turning once again and pacing down to the other end. Faith stuck her massive nose over the stall to watch Ayasha as she worked, giving the girl a soft snort of greeting, black tail swished gently to and fro and occasionally whip-lashed around to beat off offending flies.

OOC: That's OK.

IC: She poked her head out and saw the blood all over him and gave a frown. ”Are you sure you’re OK?” Her tone was incredulous. But Buck nipping at Leon took her attention. She shook her head in amusement at the stallion’s antics. ”He’s the reason that we met, remember?” Though the circumstances weren’t exactly the best but they were memories nonetheless.

She saw Faith greet her and she gave the mare a nose rub before she went back to work. ”You’re making my job harder, silly horse.” She wasn’t angry at the horse and gave her a kiss on the top of her nose bridge. She then went back to work of mucking out the stall. She was getting close to being done. Though, she still had a few left.

Ayasha started to hum a song that her mother would sing to her and her siblings. She found that it helped the work go faster when she sang or hummed. After she hummed the lullaby, she went to mindlessly humming. The last stall she got to was Inez, her colt. Well, he was more a stallion than a colt. ”In a few months, Inez and I’ll be able to ride you. How does that sound?” She asked as she worked on his stall. He seemed to like that idea and Ayasha chuckled.

He nodded as her white head appeared out of one of the stalls with a frown upon her face and wiped away some of the blood with his hand, small red flecks dotting the floor at his feet. "Si, although I have not yet been tempted to ride him, I have my own horse but maybe one day I will." He heard her chastise Faith as he disappeared down into the depths and chuckled, gigantic feet thumping against the wooden floor and his nails scratching and clicking upon in slightly.

The sound of her humming was not unpleasant and the barn was not so musically deprived of the sound but it seemed to fit in with everything; the squeak of doors and the snorts of the beasts, pounding of hooves and a million and one other odd noises that made up the concert of sound that was the stables, Ayasha's humming adding into it all. He hummed along with her although not the same tune and when she stopped he turned his into song, spanish words tripping of his tongue like a golden honey, it was a song of nature and beauty and the giant man did it justice.

The last stable she had to do was that of the growing foal's, that was quickly turning into a fine young stallion, last he knew it had belonged to his brother but obviously he must have gifted it to Ayasha for her to ride in the future. As she finished the stall and stood waiting for more work the Austral man peered around himself and then brought his gaze back to her,

"Gracias for all your help chicka. I am faster caught up now so you can return to your own duties, if you so wish." He didn't particularly want her to leave, it was strange to have company throughout hi daily chores but he was giving her the option of goinging if she had somewhere else to be or something else to do.

Ayasha nodded at him not riding Buck. It made sense that he wouldn’t want to ride him, due to the reputation of the horse and the fact that Leon had his own horse. She did giggle went he chucled. ”I think he finds us entertaining, Faith.” The horse gave a snickering sound as Ayasha left her stall.

Her ears perked up at Leon joining her in humming, though not the same one as her, and then launched into full on singing. She smiled as she listened to his voice, not understanding what it was about but liking it. ”That was good Leon. What is it about?” She asked curiously.

She shook her head. ”I’ve been doing many of my patrolling later in the day. So I can stay and help for a bit longer.” She didn’t mention that she did most of it at night. She gave him a cheeky grin. ”Or I can make a mess and have more work for you to do?” Inez made a noise that sounded like he was agreeing with her suggestion. She grin at the colt before turning her attention back to her “uncle.” ”Or I could sit and talk to you while you work?”

Her words and Faith's snicker brought more laughter floating from out of the darkness, with the good atmosphere they had going he could almost let himself forget about Maska and his cronies, almost. However they were always at the edge of his thoughts, like a dark shadow lingering over a sunny day, a waiting threat ready and willing to destroy everything. The man frowned in the darkness slightly but then let the enjoyment of the song pull him out of his spiraling dark musings.

When he was finished she asked him what it was about, the Spaniard switched easily between the two most prominent of his languages. He could speak in full English if he wished but to him some words just sounded better in Spanish, or maybe he was just wierd? Whichever was true, he did not care.

"Eet es about nature and its beauty, a song my Madre used to sing to me and my brother and sister to take us off to sleep. She sung it better than me though, her voice is higher." He nodded and shot her a mischievous grin, at times he was still very much a child,

"Regardless of what I say you are going to mess things up anyway." He laughed and winked at her to show he was joking. He looked around the stable and couldn't really find anything that urgently needed attending at this moment so he turned to the ivory female,

"We could, or I could teach you how to ride in preparation for Inez being old enough to be saddled, if you do not already know." He raised an eyebrow as he waited for her to answer.

She stuck her head out of the stall and then her tongue came out like she was still a little pup. Granted she was still young, only a teenager. She considered being nearly a year old. In few months she would be old enough to take a mate but would still have to wait a bit more to have pups. And that brought her to think of Roran. Her heart was still sad from that but only a little.

As Leon talked about his mother, she smiled. It appeared that the two Austral brothers loved their parents. They both talked about their family. ”Leon? Do you and J’adore have any more siblings?” She was curious to about her uncles’ family. She liked happy families and was grateful that, besides Kemo leaving, she had a happy family.

She gave a snort of laughter at his joke. ”You think so highly of me.” Her tone was sarcastic but she knew that he was joking and mostly likely did think very highly of her. But his suggestion of learning to ride was met a little smugly. ”Liliana already taught me the basics. But I’d like to get better at it. So if you’d be willing to help me that would great.” She liked riding and any practice she could get meant she would be able to more comfortable with Inez.

Heyyy, do you mind if we end this thread with my post? Big Grin Rank thread! ^^ We can continue if a different thread if you'd like Big Grin just pm me if you want to continue it.

His laughter rumbled after her sticking her tongue out at him, deep and exotic. He remembered being as young as she was although by that time he had already experienced his first sexual encounter. The Austral man had developed early in that way and had become something of a playboy before he had found his mate, thoughts of her still stung him deeply, the agony of her death would never fade from within him and he knew that he would be alone for the rest of his life, that he would love no other, not like that, their love had been soul deep and so so special.

He nodded at her question, "Si, I have an older brother and a younger sister. My brother is called Arena and my sister; Isla. Arena means Sand and Isla means Island." Arena had been the larger of the litter until puberty hit and himself had shot up to his great height seemingly out of nowhere, Arena was not much shorter but it was enough to show a difference in the brothers. Isla was the baby of the family and her brothers were extremely protective of her, cemented by the fact that she had been kidnapped by a pervert once.

"Come then, we shall teach you the finer points of riding." He ushered the ivory princess out of the stables and out into the sunshine for her lesson.
