p. backdated. llamadrama.

The pair had not ventured far from the manor after the run in with Keese. Mati had kept close to the packlands, and to the large house from weeks after the incident and even though it had been months since the meeting she had not stepped outside the borders of the pack's protection. She had never been so fearful for the well being of her mate, and she had never felt so threatened by a outsider in years. But with time came healing and they found the courage to roam the packlands without looking over their shoulder at every shifting shadow and rustle of leaves.

Mati held her hand, their fingers intertwined and their shoulders brushing up against one another as they walked. It felt as right as it always did, comforting to be beneath the sun's warmth and instep with the woman she so loved. A topic had come to mind, days before and she was still considering how to bring it up with her beloved. But the silence was perfect, Summer's tone singing in the background and filling the small space between them.

They spent most of their time together, unless Cambria was off helping a creature in need of her healing talents or Mati was deep in her creative process or minding the not so puppish adolescents that run through the manor. And yet she still felt her heart cherish these small moments, ordinary and yet she felt extraordinary. Mati's gaze turned to look at the shorter woman, the possibility of their future as mothers was what she had been thinking so deeply about but the idea had not yet breached their communication, not seriously anyways. She thought of the words and let them form on her tongue, there was nothing wrong with wishing right?

But her words were stalled, the sound of something she had never heard before making her look into the distance and pause in her step. What was that? She wondered aloud.

ZOMG LLAMASSS 8D Also how far back did you want to put this?

The anxiety she had felt in the wake of their encounter with the horrible male had finally seeped away from the Marino woman. Of course she still did not dare to leave the protection of the pack, but neither did Mati. The two had stayed very close to the mansion and Cambria herself had barely left their room unless there was something she had needed to do or get. Her mind kept returning to the taste of Keese's blood in her mouth and how it had felt to have her jaws wrapped around his arm. It had been a startling thing for the mild-mannered Medicus to do and she had to admit there was some fear at her actions. Mati had been in trouble though, he had grabbed her like he had grabbed Cambria months before. The chocolate fey knew she would do it again if she had to. She would protect her mate with all of what little power she possessed.

She walked as close to her lover as she could without their legs tangling together and sending them both for a tumble. It was so nice to be out with Mati without any sorts of worries or cares to drag their spirits down. Any time they got to spend together was precious and maybe that was why the Marino spent as much time with the Church fey as she possibly could. Mati had become her everything and she could not imagine spending even a mere night without her now. Perhaps it was unhealthy to be so dependent, but Cambria doubted she could change it even if she tried. Everything lead back to the copper-coated woman. She was her joy, the air that filled her lungs.

The shorter wolfess felt her companion's violet gaze upon her and her own seagreen eyes looked up to meet them. Cambi smiled and squeezed Mati's hand. It appeared that there were deep thoughts circling around beneath those purple pools, but before the Marino could guess as to what they was a strange sound. "I don't know. Some kind of animal? Should we go look?" Cambria looked to her love for guidance and confidence.

a few days is fine, just before the Utinas came? pp the heck out of the herder as you'd like!!

There was a small bit of fear that ran through her, worried that once again they would be caught by a stranger. Her mouth thinned out into a frown and purple eyes peered through the forest to see what it was that made such a noise. Mati took a breath, And gave her mate's hand a squeeze and replied. I think we should. It would be impossible for them to recover from the episode with Keese if they did not move forward and break the bonds of fear. Mati gave her a smile, though small and unsure.

Through the woods the two woman walked and when the trees broke to show a small clearing, tall grasses and wild flowers were not the only that was found. The wolfess paused the edge of the clearing, scent of the Dreaming borders lingering around them, and looked at the small pack of creatures that stood before them. She had seen horses before, but the long necked and squat bodies of these beasts only resembled horses in the manner of their stick like legs. They were shaggy, ranging in color from light to dark and everything in between.

A head rose from the middle of the pack. The canine was tall, gray and thin in his face he wore a hat that covered his ears. A colorful blanket was wrapped around his shoulders, despite the heat of summer and Mati could hear him speaking softly into large ear of the closest beast. He turned, the ringing sound of bells chiming as he moved. Hello there! he spoke when he saw to the two females, mouth open and curved into a smile. The creatures around him didn't seemed moved at all by the presence of the new wolves and only casually turned their head to give them a glance.

I'm afraid your trespassing sir, this is Crimson Dreams pack lands. Mati returned, her tone only informative rather then aggressive.

Sounds good! Sorry it's short :x

Cambria felt the same fear that coursed through her mate. It was impossible not to have their minds flash back to the incident with the greyscale man even if this was a different time and place. Plus the Marino was a fearful creature by nature. She shuffled closer to Mati, but as the taller woman squeezed her hand and said they should check it out Cambria nodded her head. This was their home and if they found or heard something out of the ordinary it was their duty to make sure nothing was wrong. And if something was wrong, or dangerous, they could call and the pack would be with them in a heartbeat. Mati smiled and the cocoa femme returned one of similar uncertainty.

Whatever the Marino had been expecting, it certainly was not what they were faced with at the edge of the borders. She had never seen anything like them and for whatever reason her fear vanished in and instant and an amused smile replaced the timid one. They were so funny looking and cute! Cambria was about to walk towards the creatures and tug Mati along when the man appeared in the middle of the herd. Initially the Aedile shied away, but he seemed a genial sort of wolf, and honest, unlike Keese in seemingly every way. When her mate spoke she wasn't hostile either, and the girl gained some confidence from that and continued to peer quizzically at the long-necked animals. Cambi wanted to ask what they were, but would wait until the issue of trespassing was addressed by the herder.

The male looked a bit uneasy at her explanation, Oh, I guess I am. Many many apologies to you and your alpha. The wolf spoke, he gave a small bow and then a wide smile and Mati grew calmer at the sight of the jolly expression. He held a long staff, and she was reminded of a shepherd and his herd of rams and ewes.

Mati touched Cambi's arm, the comforting expression that she gave often. The woman didn't think there was anything to fear here, the wolf seemed far nicer then the last loner they had encountered and she could see honesty in a beast when it appeared. What kind of creatures are these, friend? Mati asked, taking another step closer. The herder stepped out from the middle of the long necked beasts, petting their noses as he passed them. They are llamas, good for wool and carrying packs. He explained with his chest puffed out slightly. I was bringing them to water, I sensed a large body near by. He spoke with a deep voice.

She looked down at the woman beside her, seeing if there was enough ease there before extending the invitation out. We can escort you to Rabbit Lake, its not far.

Stupid busy schedule, keeping me from Mambi llama goodness! Also Cambi is so shy and silly XD

The man immediately apologized for his trespass and bowed before them. It was rare that Cambria had run across a loner that was so gentlemanly. Practically all she had met that didn't belong to a pack had given her good reason to fear them. Why could not more people be like this nice man with his herd of strange animals. Mati touched her arm and whatever remaining hesitance the Marino held melted away like the last snows in spring. If her mate did not believe they had anything to fear from him then surely there was no need to worry. The cocoa woman let a smile bloom on her lips as he informed them what these creatures were: llamas. She had never heard of them before, but they looked so soft and gentle. She wanted so badly to go and pet one.

However, the matter of water came up and Mati gladly offered to escort the man and his llamas to the lake so they could all drink and refresh themselves. Cambria's tail gave a couple of wags, glad that they could offer help and have more time to learn about these interesting creatures. Still the Medicus held her tongue, wanting to let the business get taken care of before asking to get closer to one of the long-necked herbivores. It was clear by the look in her seagreen eyes though that she very much wanted to see them more intimately.
