This is a bit scattered, but whatever. Outside of the Grimwell Caverns, Talitha's den, afternoon. She's painting. Inferni members only.

Minutes turned into hours and hours into days as Talitha found herself going through the motions of living. Exhaustion found her and claimed her again as she tried to rationalize keeping Caillen. Was it unfair? Was...she wrong? She knew it'd been a mistake to love the wolfdog, Ezekiel had shown her that much by killing him, yet she felt no guilt in keeping the corpse buried beneath the soil next to her den. She'd been apologetic to the golden Collie-mother. She'd felt bad. But she felt no guilt. Still, was she wrong? Was it wrong to look upon the mottled shape of her eldest, largest, wolf-blooded child, only to miss the father that they had destroyed?

She shook her head, trying to separate the unpleasant from her reality as she allowed herself a rest from dealing with the week-old pups so carefully guarded by the russet-pelted woman. She'd not allowed anyone near them since their birth, save the cousin she'd employed to ensure they were healthy. Even Ezekiel. It was out of shame that she kept them from her brother, shame that she hadn't been able to eradicate all of the rival male's chances at offspring, shame that she had failed. A hypocrite princess, queen of lies, hiding from the Aquila with all intents of never showing him her mistake.

Liquid sloshed about in the thin, transparent bottle she'd come into possession of, splashing the walls of the bottle as she lifted it to her jaws to drink some of the burning alcohol she'd missed for months. It kept her Demons at bay. Who could deny her that? With vice in hand, she sat herself down and prepared to work on a piece to present to her brother when she asked him for forgiveness, as she had so many other times. Painting lessened the blow. Her frayed brush moved across the plank-canvas, creating the brassy features of a familiar male alongside the russet shades of his broken twin. It would be a perfect gift, she was sure of it. Perfect.

If only everything else could be the same.

Symmy hadn't been in the clan long, having been taken in by a warrior female. It hadn't been an easy process but it could be said that her eagerness and willingness to slay the enemies of all coyotes had been what earned her the spot in the clan that she now had. She was young, yes, but she already had her prejudices. She had already faced injustices due to other species. Or well, to a certain one really. But it wasn't like she knew of the entire wide variety. She had only been exposed to coyotes and wolves. Of course she would never deign to call them as such. No, they didn't deserve a name. At least that was the way that the young girl saw it.

The small female was simply wandering around Inferni with no sort of real purpose in mind. No, she was simply exploring and that was about it. She didn't know of any others in the area besides the female that she had met at the border and was now living next to. So yes, she could do with a bit of exploring and getting to know others inside of the clan. She wished to know more about the others and the truth of the clan as well. After all she had grown up hearing tales of this clan and now she was finally able to explore it on her own. She was now able to see for herself what it was all about.

So it was during her random exploration that she stumbled across another. She had no idea what the female was doing but it didn't really matter to her. The young girl didn't bother with words but simply moved over to seat herself next to the female in order to watch what it was that she was working. She had never seen someone paint before and so of course it sparked a bit of curiosity.

Her fingers moved in smooth lines and curves and zags and zigs as she worked to create the handsome features of her sunshine King, leaving the darkened lines of the princess herself empty during the process. Ezekiel's face was what mattered, though it would feature the both of them when she was through. She really only cared about the bronze and gold features of her contrast-twin. Ezekiel. She shook her head, thunderbird eyes watching as cognac fingers smudged the wet paint to create the illusion of fur. It wasn't perfect, but her figures never were, unlike the landscapes that came to life beneath her hands. She had already given him the mountains. Now she would immortalize the pair for him to view even after she was gone.

The approach of someone new did not escape the notice of the princess, though only her eyes looked upward to survey the child who came near. She was young, but not so young that she couldn't do things about the clan, and (much to Talitha's pleasure) she was clearly born of no monster blood, unlike herself and her own spawn. The scents on the air were of her cousin, but why deny the girl a chance to view her work if she so desired? She sat without speaking. She watched in silence. Talitha continued her work in the same way for some long pause before smudging the artwork yet again to craft the fur. "Welcome to Inferni, little girl. I'm Talitha de le Poer." It was a simple, proud introduction.

While the girl was curious she was also at the point where she realized that not everything needed a question to be voiced in order to find out an answer. Sometimes watching it all it really took in order to have a question an answered. And well, a partial one was answered through observation as forms became defined. Or at least one form in particular was being worked on at the current moment. She couldn't recognize who it was simply because she had never met him before. The only one that she knew in Inferni was Halo. The girl had yet to run into any of the other clan members to know who they were. She might have caught a glimpse of some in passing but had never actually sat and talked with any of them previously.

The girl smiled as she was addressed. "Thank you, I am Symera Villisca." The youth returned the introduction before she fell back into silence in order to view the painting still. She was puzzling in her mind just who that figure could be but came up with nothing. Since she couldn't come up with the answer herself it forced her to raise her voice in question finally. "Who is that?" The girl would be unable to come up with an answer unless she ended up questioning upon this bit. Now hopefully it wouldn't come across as too annoying since she had tried to puzzle it out for herself first.

Symera turned her head to peer into the caverns at her back before glancing back over to the woman at her side. "Do you live here?" She figured that she might as well get the other question that was on her mind out in the open and just get all of them answered together instead of just asking one after another as they were being answered. She figured that it would be less annoying to just go ahead and get them all out there ahead of time. Of course she might have more later as she was presented with new information but at least she had gotten out all she could think of for now.

The smile she saw on the girl's face was pleasing, and as she spoke her name, Talitha silently wondered where she had come from and why she had shown up at the borders of Inferni. Symera. A young, pretty thing that she expected would grow up to be equally beautiful as any coyote should. When the child asked who it was in her painting, she almost didn't hear -- so wrapped up in the unknown history was she that her mind was tuned out to the voice of the girl until yet another question was asked. Shaking her head of the haze that had been created, Talitha's eyes returned to the plank upon her lap. "This is Ezekiel. He's my...something." She let out a sigh, fingers gently smudging the paint to appear as living fur on the golden face of her handsome Aquila, her beautiful brother. Her twin in sunlight's clothing.

She turned over her shoulder to glance back into the cave where she lived with her children, and Hybrid's children, and wondered silently about them as they slept. "Yes, this is my den." For now, until she requested of Gabriel that she take over his, a home she had lived in once as a child and now desired to possess again as he was remaining inside of the guest house rather than the caverns. It was more space. It was easier for her to live there with six pups to tend to. Crimson eyes narrowed as she thought that he might deny her, but so many memories lingered there that she believed he wouldn't. After all, she was his princess.

This woman, this hybrid, wasn't the only one whom had marveled at the young girl's pureness. Symera would be slow to learn that she was such an oddity in a place meant for coyote rule. She was only one of very few that hadn't suffered hybridization. It was something that she never would have imagined in this place that she had heard so many tales about. In her mind she pictured a large group of coyotes just like her that would attack and viciously rip apart any stinky that got too close. She had no idea that a good portion of the members here were part stinky themselves.

"Is it a good something or a bad something?" Usually her tongue was carefully guarded against questions but her curiosity had gotten the better of her. Perhaps it was because the other had seemed to have struggled to find a word to describe this Ezekiel. Her world was still black and white so she figured it should be easy to come across the appropriate word to use. To her everything was good or bad, right or wrong, and no ground in the middle to stand upon.

Once it was assured that the female lived here the pup found herself getting up in order to take a few steps into the den in order to explore. She had never seen a cave before and found it to be a curious sight indeed. But the girl quickly stilled as outlines were made out in the dark. "Oh no, someone broke in and is hiding." The words were spoken in hushed tons that were tossed towards the adult as the young girl kept her gaze pinned upon the outline that she had managed to catch sight of. She didn't let her gaze stray away since she didn't want to lose sight of it and not be able to point it out to be investigated.
