Private for Niro and Jiva, set in the stables and racecourse Smile WC: 759

The morning was well underway, soon it would give way to the afternoon, the sun rapidly approaching the pinnacle of its daily travel across the sky. The land was beginning to get warm, the bright orb the was hanging in the sky was allowing its tendrils of heat to stroke the ground softly, allowing the air temperature to rise steadily, soon it would become too warm to be too active no doubt, the little lines of heat haze would soon rise from the ground no doubt. But for now the heat had not reached a peak, the breeze that was blowing through the land was pleasantly cool, causing the leaves of the trees to flutter as it blew past them, many of the tall flowers and grasses too were dancing with the breeze. It was an idyllic sight. The large stables rose into the sky, a large wooden frame in the middle of this area, casting a long shadow across the lands, providing some comfort, a recognisable landmark in the lands, it would be difficult to get lost around here, not when one could see the tall building with the racetrack before it. The racetrack itself was surrounded by a high wooden fence, the grass within it having ground wild, now dotted with weeds and flowers, some tall stalks of grass seeming more like stalks of wheat, the golden seeds clinging to their stems, again they danced and bent as the wind billowed past them gently. Small animals ran about in the grass, snuffling and rumagging through the ground for food, hiding within the tall grasses, seemingly comfortable that they were hidden from the sights of predators, though the tips of ears could still be seen here and there as the animals, mostly rabbits, bounced about the place cheerfully.

The little patchwork girl had come here again today to see the cream coloured, nameless mare that she had been coming to see regularly, in her mind she had sort of become her horse, although she had yet to name her or attempt to ride her. But the mare was content to listen to her childish tales of what she had been doing during the days she had been away, heavily embellished with extra excitement of course, the mare was not to know that the little female had never been ambushed by pirates and had been forced into an epic battle where she had chased them off as the victor, the mare also of course did not know that she had not discovered treasure in the woodlands. The little female's fantasy life often tended to blur into reality when she spoke to the horse, she had a very active imagination and enjoyed making up stories and adventures, often she and her sibling played them out as games, Felicity always taking the role of the damsel in distress, Linden being permitted to be Robin's side kick. They always had great fun, but sometimes Robin could not find them, and then she would play by herself, bounding across the lands with shrieks of laughter as she slayed whatever monster it was that her imagination's eye could see before her. She was getting quite good at slaying imaginary monsters she would have to confess, in her mind she was well on the way to following in her father's footsteps, becoming a proud protector of the pack, brave and noble, just as he was. But for now, the little female was very contented to slay imaginary foes, to chase away bands of fearsome pirates and vicious fire breathing dragons that were very common in the Cour Des Miracles lands, should one know where to look.

And so the patchwork girl had approached the stables again, slipping in quietly, the mare seemed to have been anticipating her arrival, her large cream coloured head leaning as far over the door as she could reach it, her trailing white mane hanging low over the door. The patchwork girl was in her Lupus form and so she could not pat her as she usually did, instead she simply leant up and pressed her nose to the mare's light one, the mare whinnied a greeting and ruffled at the top of her head, a usual greeting between the pair of them now. The little female chirruped a greeting to her, asking how she was and telling her her latest adventure. Soon she wandered off though, saying a cheery goodbye to the large mare, trotting off back outside, standing in the doorway, wondering where she could bound off to now.

It was a quiet peaceful day and it was beautiful to boot. Niro told Amaranth he would be taking Jiva out and he headed for the stables. He was going to teach the boy more of his own profession. Jiva seemed interested enough, though never so much so than Niro had been for most of his life. Marahute was perched on the man’s shoulder watching around her. She was still injured and he doubted that even if she healed completely she would fly, so he would take her with him most everywhere he went. Jiva bounced around Niro asking him different questions, mostly nonsense questions about what humans were like, or if the grass could bleed would it be green blood, or what some contraptions were and why most of the pack just pushed them away and didn’t try to use them. Niro came to a stop at the stables and could hear the neighing of the horses, then Jiva stopped too and his ears perked up. He grinned and whispered to his daddy to be quiet and not to move. Jiva crept next to the stables totally unaware that he could be seen, and watched the pretty girl standing outside the stables. He crouched low and then when he was so close to her he jumped in front of her yelling out

“Boo!”

Sorry for the wait on this, I suck Sad

The little patchwork girl was looking this way and that, sniffing the air as she did so. Her blue eyes roamed the lands, trying to decide where she would go next, her small brown ears turning this way and that as she hunted for some interesting sound or sight that she could go and investigate. Perhaps there would be a dragon hiding amongst the grasses, or some villain tresspassing in the stables, someone that she could fight off and prove her nobility, prove that she was brave enough to look after this pack with her daddy. The little female had a vivid and very active imagination, this was a good thing for her as the little patchwork girl was often easily bored, her attention span being short as it was with most children of her age, so often she wandered away into fantasy, thinking up adventures to bound her way through, racing about the lands, away on amazing missions in her mind. In that way the girl could keep herself entertained for hours, she was always the one to think up the games for her siblings to join in with as well, she was content to play on her own though, but sometimes company was nice, she did enjoy getting others to join in with her games, she had even coerced her father into playing a few times, at those times he would gladly play the pantomime style villain for his children to defeat, happily pretending to kidnap Felicity and then allowing his other children to attack him and be defeated. He was of course never any real danger, he was the kind of villain that one read about in fictional books, the ones that could always be defeated, the ones that revealed their plans and then were shocked when the heroes foiled them. She had based all of her villains on these fictional characters, always making sure that they were defeated in the end, the heroes of the tale rescuing those who needed to be rescued and escaping with their lives, over coming every obstacle in their way and racing away to their secret hideout, just like Robin Hood himself. The little patchwork girl had no idea that there were much scarier villians out there, ones that would get away with their evil plans and cause hurt and destruction, in a child's world there was no real danger, and this was how it would stay with the little fae for quite some time no doubt.

She was thinking up a game as she stood in the doorway, her multicoloured tail wagging with the cheerful anticipation of adventures that she would soon be having, she mused over the idea of going to find her daddy, to ask him if she might have the cream horse and then convince him to teach her to ride. She was a very good negotiator, mostly because she was relentless in her mentioning of what she wanted until she wore her father down, he would eventually agree just to silence her. Perhaps he would indeed allow her to have her own horse, the cream mare seemed to be fond of the little patchwork girl after all, Robin was sure that she wouldn't mind being owned by the mulitcoloured girl. The little female was about to bound off towards home, to cling to her father's leg and nag at him until he taught her how to ride the nicely tempered mare when she was suddenly leapt at by a smaller wolf. He shouted boo, the little female was indeed surprised, although she had been looking around the lands it had been in an absent minded way, not really focusing on anything, her mind had been wandering to the idea of riding the mare just as her daddy rode Drogon, the enormous stallion that seemed to be more his friend than a pet. The little female jumped in the air, looking at the smaller male, was he a baddie? No, surely he could not be, he was far too young to be a baddie yet, he was not big enough to be any threat to the little female. She smiled at him once she looked him over, he smelled of the pack, so he must be an ally, baddies didn't live in the pack, her father had told her that, the pack was her family and therefore no danger to her.
"Hello! My name's Robin, who are you?" The patchwork girl asked, smiling at the male. She looked up and noticed a larger male not far away from them, she smiled at him as well, her tail wagging cheerfully as she looked at him.
"Hello there!" She called to the older male, glad to see that he was not Noss, the grumpy male who had told her off for playing in the stables. He seemed nice enough, but he had been very grumpy. She hoped that this older male would not be like him, he looked like he would be friendly though, perhaps he was this little adventurous male's father?

WC: 374 OOC: Big Grin

Jiva grinned happily as he had succeeded in scaring the little girl! He had no notion that she was a bit older than him by a good few months, this mattered little to the boy. She was young and she was a potential playmate.

“M’ name’s Jiva Takekucho!”

Jiva said, he turned to his dad who chuckled and shook he head. Jiva had a hard time remembering and pronoucing his own last name. Niro didn’t blame him, it wasn’t as though it was a really easy name to say. Niro smiled at Robin when she turned to him.

“Hello Robin, I hope the day is well for you.”

He remembered meeting her as she was really young, doubtful that she would remember him, but he remembered her playing with her siblings as he and Princess caught up, though he had voiced his worries onto the woman, his worries of being a horrible father, as he’d started out as one. Now it was like him and Jiva were inseperable, and he loved it. Robin had grown much since Niro had seen her last, and it made him wish he hadn’t been traveling so much, trying to get the messaging services established, he had more packs to go to, but he was letting himself have time within his own pack before heading out, this time working for two packs at once, it would be a big journey and he’d have a horse, but he knew it would take him a while. For now he was enjoying his time off, by hunting, leather working, and playing with his son.

“You probably don’t remember me, I met you when you were really young I’m Niro Takekuro.”

He said, to freshen the memory of the girl. He looked in the stables then at the pup and smiled

“I hope none of my birds in there are causing you any troubles.”

He said, he’d left his stock of birds in the stables, not having any better place for them. His home was not a good place, and though he only had a few raptors he was training a good few pigeons for messages.

Sorry for the wait on this! I have been very busy recently, am catching up though XD WC:655

The little patchwork girl smiled at the little male in front of her, staring into his bi-coloured eyes with her own bright blue ones. She turned her head to one side as she looked at him, looking him over, he was much younger than herself, but he seemed to already be becoming a little adventurer, the idea that she might have a new playmate that was not one of her siblings was exciting to the multicoloured female, Felicity was always stuck in the role of being the damsel in distress, wanting to play the princess no matter what the game was, Linden was always asking to be the hero of the story, but he knew that it was Robin who played the rule of Robin Hood in their games, after all her favourite story book character shared her name. He seemed to be tiring of playing with her more often now, so she had often been playing alone recently, going on her own adventures, but that was no matter to her, they would all soon play together again, she was sure of it. But here was a brand new playmate! A real one that could come along on her adventures with her, she could not help but smile at the little reddish male. He gave his name, she nodded as he said Jiva but could not help the look of confusion as he spoke his surname, she had heard a name like it before, but she was sure that it was not the same as what he had just said. Still her tail wagged furiously at the excitement of having a new playmate, even though he was a lot younger than she was.
"It is very nice to meet you Jiva. Want to play in a minute?" She asked, grinning at her new found friend.

Her attention was soon caught by the tall white male with the spiky hair as he called to her, saying hello to her, he knew her name, the little fae's nose wrinkled in confusion, she must have seen him before, but she couldn't quite remember when. He seemed a cheery sort of male in any case, calling a warm greeting, saying that he hoped she was having a nice day.
“I'm having a very nice day thank you, are you sir?” She replied cheerfully, her tail wagging still, smiling at the large male. He introduced himself and suddenly the pieces had fallen into place, she remembered him now, he had been friends with her mother, well she supposed that he would more than likely still be friends with her mother. She smiled at him, suddenly realising that Jiva would be his son, but that he had simply mispronounced his surname, just as the little patchwork girl had used to do with her own surname, finding it difficult to wrap her mouth around the double a at the beginning of her last name.
"I know you! You are my Mommy's friend aren't you! Do you know my Daddy as well?" She asked, still smiling up at the tall male. He asked if his birds were causing any trouble, again her little brow furrowed, there were birds living in the stables? She had never seen any animal but a horse in the stables, well other than Anann and Noss, she looked at the male with confusion in her eyes.
"You have birds here? Can I see them?" She asked suddenly, a small flicker of excitement crossing through her, this would be a great adventure, finding the hidden secrets of the stables, what an explorer she was turning out to be! She turned back to the young mottled red pup, "you'll come too wont you?" She asked him, smiling as she did so. She turned towards the stables, peering into the dimmer light, turning back to look at Jiva and Niro, before looking back into the stables, bouncing slightly with excitement and anticipation.

Jiva wagged his tail. He rarely found himself in the midst of a playmate. He was always home with his mommy or out with his daddy, he didn't think there WERE any other pups in the pack. This excited the boy and he liked Robin immediately, though she was quite a bit taller than him. Niro watched the interaction and could imagine the boy just following after the girl to see what she was up to now. It seemed that Robin had heard more about him as she became very exchited when she heard his name. He smiled and nodded.

"Yes, me and your mother are friends. I would hope me and your father are as well. He is a great man. You are lucky to have such wonderful parents."

He said smiling at the girl, knowing Haven must be under the girls paw, she was such a darling little thing. She grew confused once more at Niro's mention of his birds and then excited. The change in expressions was priceless and he couldn't help but smile. He nodded, wondering if the girl had seen Marahute at all, since she was perched up on his shoulder. He followed her to the stables and Jiva ran right up to her when she was asking if he was coming too. Niro wished he had the energy or a young pup, though he could say he was still one himself, at heart now at least. Going in he let his eyes adjust, but Jiva led the way. He'd helped his daddy with the birds so often he knew wehere to find them. Tobias and Gregor were able to come and go as they pleased, and it made Niro happy that they both came back now that they knew they would get more food with Niro than they would on their own. Niro gave a soft whistle for Tobias and held out his arm. The redtail hawk glided over to Niro, a small bell jingled from his leg, Niro had forgotten to take it off the day before when they were on a hunt. The bird was still able to hunt with it, making precise kills, but Niro normally took it off so not to chafe the birds skin on his upper leg.

"This is Tobias, I'm afraid you can't pet him, but maybe Marahute when I put him up. He is a red tailed hawk.

The hawk was a tiny little baby compared to the golden eagle on his shoulder. The two birds had always clashed, but they had been getting along recently, which made Niro happy enough. The large bird eyed the boy and girl, he knew the boy but the girl made him wary. He knew children were curious, he'd found out when Jiva was younger, though he had forgiven the boy his tripe.

Sorry for the wait on this, I have been away.

The white male complimented Robin's parents and the little female smiled broadly at him, her tail wagging furiously as she looked at him, this male knew how special her mommy and daddy were, this was wonderful, the little multicoloured girl had always suspected that they were special, and now this male seemed to agree, this was fantastic in her mind.
"Thank you very much, I think they're wonderful, especially my Daddy, he's a hero you know, I'm going to be just like him when I grow up, I shall be an intrepid explorer and adventurer, saving wolves in need, just like him." The little girl replied with a grin, her tail still wagging, she loved talking about her plans, and her parents, in all honesty she just liked talking, the little fae was always full of stories and ideas, it was nice to have a new audience to regale. Realising that she was being rude she added, "I think that you're a very nice man too, I think Jiva is lucky to have you for a father." She smiled at the little red male, bouncing slightly again from the excitement of going to see the birds now.

The little patchwork girl's tail began to wag even harder as she marched through the stables, she kept turning to throw grins at the little red pup and his father, she was excited, she had never seen tame birds before. The only birds she had ever seen were usually sitting in trees or hanging high in the sky, seeming to drift aimlessly past the clouds, the little Aatte girl liked birds, she was a little envious of them if she was honest, she would love to know what it was like to fly, she was sure she would be good at it, she was quite good at the things she tried, she was going to be a hero after all, she needed to be good at things. Although the idea did cross her mind briefly that it would be like her first shift, where she could not make anything work how she wanted it to, what would happen if she were to end up stuck like that? She would be floating about unable to get down, that would be awful, at least when she was sat on the floor unable to get up she would have grass to eat, although it was disgusting. The very thought of the taste of the green stalks she had tentatively put in her mouth made her shudder and her brow furrow, no she would not like to be stuck in the air, after all what would she eat? What did clouds taste of? They looked fluffy, like the sheep she had seen, perhaps they tasted like sheep? The multicoloured female doubted this though, no, it would not do to be stuck in the sky like a bird, although it would make her rescues much easier, being able to zip across the sky and scoop those in need up with her, away from whatever dangers they had to face. No, she would leave the sky to the birds, especially as she had no idea how to even go about beginning to fly, she had never seen a wolf fly, perhaps someone would know how, she would ask her Daddy when she got home.

When they arrived at the bird's roosting place the little female's eyes widened beyond what she seemed capable of, the bird that landed on the tall male's arm was enormous, she had never seen any bird so large before. She had always supposed that they might exist, she had seen the larger silhouettes high in the sky, but from that distance all birds seemed to be small, she had always just expected them to be a little larger than the other birds that she saw nesting in the trees. But this bird was huge, he had fierce looking talons and a sharp beak, the female wasn't sure he was a bird, if it hadn't been for the wings she would have been certain, he looked to predatory to be one of those little chirruping creatures that flew overhead, no, he had to be some kind of winged wolf, perhaps some kind of cat; the little female was rather naive when it came to creatures such as cats, having not really seen one up close before either, so in her mind this creature could be a cat.
"He can't be a bird! He's much too large! And look at his spiky feet, he has to be come sort of cat, doesn't he? What is he?" The little fae asked, her small brow furrowed in confusion, looking from Jiva to Niro and back again. She knew that there were birds of prey, she had read about them in the books that were littered around the house, but she had never known that they grew so large, this male bird was huge, she remembered vaguely seeing a picture that looked a little like him, but it had been small, nothing like the grand scale of the huge bird that had perched himself upon Niro's shoulder, she looked up at the large bird, her blue eyes still wide as she watched his movements, he was a fascinating creature.

OOC: You do realize that Marahute, a golden eagle, has been perched on Niro's shoulder the whole time right?

Niro smiled at her, thankful for her words. Jiva puffed out his own chest, as proud as could be. He was happy to have a daddy as brave as his own. Not many did. He didn't know her's but if his daddy said he was a good man then he was. Niro couldn't wait to see the expression on the little girls face when he showed her the eagle. Some type of cat? He chuckled, Jiva giggled too, as he was used to seeing a cat, his mothers.

"No, this is a bird, but like deer and wolves there are prey and predators of the sky. The prey are the little birds you see, the predator's are these."

He pointed to Tobias, and perched up on one of the perches, Gregor, who was a Bald eagle, and MUCH larger than Tobias, though only slightly smaller than Marahute. The bald eagle was watching with a close eye, but he made no move. He was more docile than Tobias but the only one who wasn't as agressive was Marahute. He put Tobias back, he flapped his wings before hopping back on the perch, then took his hand for Marahute to hop on. She blinked at the girl as he brought her closer. Niro touched her beak, and she made a soft noise. It was their way of saying this was family, not food. He knew golden eagles could snatch a pup right off the ground and eat them for a meal, but Marahute had hatched with Niro as both her mother and father, so She was taught differently, but he had made sure to make a signal to let her know who was a friend.

"This is Marahute, she is nice, you can pet her if you want."

Niro sat crosslegged on the ground, the bird sitting calmly in his arm. She was by far bigger than the redtail hawk he just showed little Robin.

Eeek! Sorry about that! I had gotten myself mixed up with the names of the birds, I assumed it was the smallest of the birds that was sat on Niro's shoulder *face palm*

The little female was glad that she seemed to have pleased both Niro and Jiva with her compliment, she had meant every word as well, if Niro was her Mommy's friend then he had to be a good wolf and he seemed very nice indeed. The patchwork girl could not deny that she was already very fond of Jiva and had started plotting out adventures and games for them to play, if he was willing he could join her and Linden, and the unnamed pale mare that she had adopted as one of their gang, he would fit right in, they could go around together having adventures and saving those that needed rescuing, a part that was usually played by Felicity, something which her younger sister never seemed to mind, she loved playing the princess and didn't seem to mind being rescued from imaginary baddies every now and again. Yes the little red male would fit into the group very nicely, he would always have playmates within the pack should he chose to seek them out, Robin was always happy to play games and imagine things, the girl had a very vivid imagination and loved making up stories and games, so she would always be able to think of something to do.

A blush touched the cheeks of the little female as the pair of males laughed at what she had said, she had not thought that it was a silly statement until they had done that, but once she heard them laughing she knew that it would have to be, she then thought of the cats she had seen pictures of in the books that littered her family home, thinking about their shape, they had no wings and always had four legs like wolves, she realised how silly she must have sounded and giggled along with them, nodding to show that she had noticed what a silly statement it must have been. She preferred to be part of the laughter, that way she was laughing with the males and not allowing them to laugh at her, although she was sure that they were not laughing to be cruel, she had simply amused them. She looked up at the alabaster male as he spoke, explaining that the enormous, sharp taloned creature that was sat upon his arm was a predator, this meant that she was designed to kill the other birds, Robin knew this, her father had explained the idea of predators to her before, explaining that cats and wolves ate rabbits and that was their job as predators, everyone had to eat something, wolves just fared a lot better when they ate meat, she knew that this was the natural order of things and that was just that. So this bird must have to eat meat as well, she looked big enough to eat her, the little female could not help but think about that as she watched the dark eyes of the large bird, she moved a little closer as the male said that she was allowed to pet the large bird. Moving slowly, still eyeing the bird with caution, she was not usually shy, she was an outgoing and often overly talkative creature, but at this moment she could not deny she was a little scared. The small patchwork girl was never normally scared, it was her job to chase away the monsters under the stairs for her sister when she was frightened and she had imagined many situations where she had to be brave and rescue damsels in distress, but this was a very real situation with a creature that was big enough to try and pick her up, even though she was a wriggling creature that would most likely be very difficult to hold onto. She approached with caution and moved to sniff the bird, deciding that she would not be a threat if Niro said so, after all he was a member of the pack and therefore family, he wouldn't want to hurt her. Awkwardly she lifted a paw and stroked the female eagle's feathered back with as much gentleness as she could manage in her four legged form, she knew that birds wings were delicate and she did not want to hurt the large creature.
"She is very friendly isn't she? How long have you owned her? Is she an old bird? She is so big, it must have taken a very, very long time to grow that big." The little female asked, she had wanted to be big and tall for so long and every time she had asked her mother about it she had been told that it would take a long time for her to grow to be her full size, so she could not help but assume that this large bird must have been very old to get to such a large size. She turned to look at the little red male again, smiling at him, "Do you help your Daddy with his birds a lot?" She asked, wanting him to be part of the conversation.

WC:355 OOC: It's ok ^^

------

Niro was glad she joined in with the laughter, he didn’t want to make her feel bad, and he gave her an approving smile. He was sure she got the prey and predator lesson from her father, but being a hunter such as himself, it was always a good reminder.

“Oh they eat many things. I’ve seen a picture of a golden eagle picking up a mountain goat, and letting it fall so that it could feast. Only most of the time they hunt smaller animals.”

He said then paused as she came up to the bird. She stroked the pack with a paw and Niro could tell there was little tension afterward. Marahuted turned one eye on the girl to get a better look, turning this way and that. Then bent her head and shocking Niro even a little gave a nip to Robin’s ear, it wasn’t a painful one, it was more like appreciation. Niro didn’t pull the bird up until she let go, which was only a second or so, but he wasn’t sure if she got Robin’s ear or not, nor how the girl would react to it.

“She doesn’t normally do that to others! Don’t be alarmed, it means she likes you.”

He said quickly as he could, not everyone knew bird ediquate. He was still learning himself.

“She’s not really an old bird at all, I actually hatched her from an egg about this big.” He showed her with his fingers, a small egg compared to the large bird “She’s only a year old really... and no, my father did not approve of my bird watching, I am sure he would not approve of me handling them. He was more of a …. natural wolf.”

It was hard to think about his father again, but he kept a straight enough face that made it look like he wasn’t just acting, nor was he showing her that he had in any way had too much emotion. That was for his sister to show, not him.

I can't believe I did that, I feel so silly XD WC: 672

The little patchwork girl was staring at the bird with something very close to awe, she was amazed by this bird, it was enormous, with large talons and a large beak, she could not imagine it flying, how on earth would it raise that large mass off of the ground? The male explained that he had once seen a photgraph of a bird this size carrying off a sheep, her eyes widened even further, this bird really could carry her off it it chose to! She was smaller than a sheep, she stared at the bird with cautious eyes.
”I would like to see that picture, it sounds very interesting, was it in a book? How did you know it was a bird like her?” She asked, but before she could get her answer the bird dipped it's head and bit her ear. She let out a yelp of sharp surprise, not with pain, more with shock, this bird really did think that she could be dinner! As soon as the bird released her grasp on the little female's ear she shot away from it, hiding beneath one of the shelves, staring at the bird and her owner from across the room, her usually over active tail was completely still as she stared at the bird, trembling slightly as she watched the bird. She was going to eat her! She was sure of it, the small multicoloured female hid her bright blue eyes under her muted grey paws, using the childish logic of if she could not see the bird then the large predator could not see her; the fact that she was sticking out quite prominently from under the shelf and that under the shelf was really rather well lit, making her perfectly visible, had not crossed her mind, she was invisible if she couldn't see anyone else. The male spoke, saying that she shouldn't be alarmed, that that meant that the bird liked her, the little female raised her head, moving her paws from her eyes, staring at the alabaster male and his large pet. Slowly, cautiously, she moved out from her hiding place, keeping low to the ground, her ears perked up again, though she flattened the one that had been bitten to her skull quickly, in case the bird decided that a nibble was not enough. Soon she was standing near the pair again, she looked at the male with wide eyes.
"If that's what she does when she likes me, I wouldn't like to see her when she doesn't like me! Are you sure she doesn't want me for dinner? I don't want to be eaten! The little female said, asking the most important question, she wasn't getting any closer to the bird until she was completely sure.

She watched the male as he explained how she was still a young bird, that she had come from a tiny egg, she turned her head to one side, did birds grow faster than wolves then?
"How did she get so big so fast? Do birds grow very quickly?" She asked, her curiosity soon swamping her fear, she managed to pad a little closer, smiling at the male. The way he spoke of his father made her ears droop a little, it seemed that he did not like talking about him much, the little female decided to change the subject very quickly, as to not make the male upset, she didn't want him to be upset, especially in front of his young red son. She smiled up at him, trying to think of the best question to ask to distract him from the subject.
"How long have you had the birds? Have you always kept them here? Do you have more? Or is this it?" The little patchwork fae asked the barrage of questions quickly, trying to change the subject and also being filled with vast curiousity about these strange creatures. They were odd to the little female, the large predators of the sky, they were terribly interesting though.

OOC: *beats herself up for how extremely late this is WC: 479

Niro felt bad when she bolted, but the only thing he could do was reassure her, and when it seemed he did so, he got a tart answer back when she came out from under the shelves. He chuckled at her and winked. He looked over to Tobias who was perched watching Niro and Marahute jealously. He gave a sharp whistle and the red tail jumped from his perch, looking through the stables.

“I'm sure she would have bit a bit harder, it is a greeting to someone she likes, and she's only done it to me.... until today so it's something to be proud of."

Jiva who witnessed the whole thing was pouting a little, he wanted the golden eagle's approval too, but it seemed it would get Robins and not his. Looking at his dad he spoke.

“Daddy I want her to do that too, why doesn't she like me?”

Niro looked at his son, and gave him a short, smile, trying to reassure his boy.

“She likes you, but you're always running around, how can you let her do it if you're moving all the time.”

He asked. The boy gave a almost inaudible 'oh' and seemed pleased enough with that answer. Niro smiled at Robin again, giving her his attention, and he could see that she thought talking about his dad was something he didn't like. He loved his father, he loved his whole family and would proudly tell any one of his own parents, but it was hard, as he and Orin had become orphans at an early age. Robin started bombarding him with more questions, and he couldn't help but let out a hearty laugh.

“Settle down, that's quite a mouthful, lets see... Eagles grow up probably as quickly as we do, you see both you and Jiva were really really small when you were born and you were also growing inside your mother's bellies. A bird grows inside an egg and is warmed by their mother's body. In a way both are the same. She took a year to get this big, but she still has a little more growing to do. Just like you both do. You'll grow up farther than your first year too. I've taken care of birds as long as I had Marahute's egg, she was the first I've required. Then it was Tobias, and then Gregor. He's the bald eagle, up in the raftors up there. I do have some pidgeons and... if you keep this a secret I have a present for my daughter. Do you want to see it?”

He asked. His words were a mouthful too, but he doubted she'd want a repeat nor would she care as much when there was something else going on, but he explained everything the best he could.

Don't worry about it Smile WC: 962

The little female was slowly regaining her confidence with the large bird of prey, if Niro said that she was safe to be around then she was certain that she must be, after all the male would not want her to be in any danger, at least that was what she thought; he was a father himself after all and a member of the pack, the pack was Robin's family, she hoped that everyone thought the same and wanted to protect one another. The alabaster male seemed like a trustworthy wolf, so she trusted him, after all if he was indeed careless or reckless when it came to the large birds then she was sure that Jiva would be in several pieces by now, he was smaller than she was, if she could be dinner for these large birds then he most certainly could end up on the supper table. The patchwork girl listened as the male spoke again, he had a reassuring tone when he spoke, which gave the small female more confidence, more trust in the words that he spoke. When he said that the little female should be proud, that she was now one of a very exclusive club of wolves that this bird liked, in fact it had only two members, the young female's tail began to wag as he said this, perhaps it was not all bad after all; she was not in pain and the bite had not really hurt that much, it had been more the sudden shock that had sent the patchwork girl scarpering across the stables to her hiding place.
"She really likes me? Wow, I feel a bit special now, it was ok that you nipped me birdy, but don't surprise me like that again." The young Aatte replied, speaking first to Niro and then to the large bird perched upon his arm. The young red boy spoke, sounding disappointed that the large bird had never done that to him, the little patchwork girl padded over to him and have him a little headbutt of affection as the pale male explained that he never stayed still long enough to be bitted, the little female herself was never very still herself, she was always bouncing here and there; it was simply awe that had kept her so close to the bird for enough time to be bitten affectionately by her.
"I would not worry about it Jiva, I am sure that she likes you as well," the patchwork pup said kindly, smiling at the younger male.

The male seemed to take the girl's rapid fire of questions as she spoke to him. He seemed more than happy to explain to her all the ins and outs of bird ageing, Robin was pleased that the male did not seem too phased that she asked so many questions at once; the patchwork girl was aware that she could be a little overwhelming to those that did not know her well, but she could not help it, she was just a curious soul that could never help but ask a hundred questions a minute. She listened as he spoke, her tail wagging as he explained, saying that Jiva and herself would have been tiny when they were born, her small brow furrowed as she thought of it, her sister Felicity was still a little smaller than herself, was that what he meant? She remembered when she had first started adventuring, that everything around her had seemed a lot bigger, though she supposed that she had been much smaller, she did not remember this time though, when would she have been so small that she would have been comparible to the large eagle and the small egg that she came from. It was a curious thought for the little female, she knew that she had grown in her mother's stomach, but was not sure how she would have gotten there, but she could not imagine being as small as the egg that Niro had gestured at with his fingers.
"Why were we so small? Why don't I remember being that small? How strange that a bird that big came from a small thing. When will we be fully grown?" The patchwork girl asked, still filled with questions, she was longing to grow up, to be big enough to protect the lands alongside her father, it was taking far too long for the small girl, she wanted to be seen as a useful creature and not just a pup and she wanted to be seen that way soon! The male then said that he had only been keeping the birds for arounf a year, the small girl nodded her mottled head, that made sense, for some wolves things like this were easy to learn and put into action, she supposed that he must have been that sort of wolf, that he had learned to keep the birds and had been doing so ever since, just as she hoped to be when she was given her bow. The male then spoke about the birds that he looked after, the small female raised her head to look at the large eagle that sat in the rafters, her tail wagging as well.
"None of those will bite me will they?" The small female asked, looking at the male with something akin to a nervous expression. Then the male asked if she would like to see the present that he had for his daughter, the girl's tail wagged furiously, she enjoyed being trusted with secrets.
"Oh yes please! I can keep a secret, I promise!" The little female exclaimed, excited now, her tail wagging, she bounced slightly from foot to foot as she looked at the male, eager to see the present.

Word Count → 571 :: OOC: The kite's description is vague because i forgot what kind of kite me and Shae agreed on lol

Niro was glad the girl came out, it showed her trust in his judgement which was what he was hoping for. He was a good man, and didn't want to hurt anyone in his pack. Especially children. He loved them as they were the future. He smiled as she came closer, and seemed happy that she was one of the few that Marahute liked. She stated how she felt special and he nodded. He ruffled Jiva's head as Robin wanted to reassure Jiva, which it seemed to. He smiled a little and looked back at the girl wagging his tail a little. Marahute gave a little chirp sound as agreement not to scare the girl again, though she did look smug that she'd gotten the better of the pup for a second.

Niro could tell both children were soaking up the questions like crazy, and her questions became a bit more complex, and to the point where he knew that her parents should be answering such questions. Like the reason why she had been so small.

“Well I think those are questions for your parents, but I think you'll be fully grown after you turn a year, it is different for everyone. Marahute, she'll be fully grown at the age of two.”

He said, answering what he felt comfortable with. He wasn't sure he should be answering questions that would deal with pregnancy and any acts before that. As she looked up at the large bird of prey she asked a simple question, one he was happy to answer.

“With those two, I'm never certain, I wouldn't get too close without me. They still have the wild in their hearts. Wild ones are far more unpredictable. The pigeons don't know what they are doing, so you might get pecked, but it doesn't hurt.... too much.”

He looked at both Jiva and Robin. Jiva had seen the present and was excited, though a little jealous. His sister wasn't in the pack, and he was. He had voiced this before and Niro answered that when Jiva was older he would get his own bird. Niro would even teach the boy how to train them as well. This got the boy excited and calmed him down, so Jiva was wagging his tail when he asked Robin if she wanted to see the present.

“Oh it's ok, Maggie doesn't live here, so I don't think she'll find out till she comes and visit, it's over here. The bird is still wild so we have to keep it in the cage, but I caught it not long ago.”

He moved over to a corner lit by one of the windows where he picked up a medium sized cage and put it on the ground. There inside was a pretty kite, it was a greyish color, and it looked kind of like Tobias except smaller, and its tail had a split. It had large eyes as it sat on its perch looking at the three wolves with those inteligent eyes. She was still new, and Niro knew she'd quickly attack even him if he let her out, she'd fly away in seconds after that. He would train her to see that her life benefited if she stayed with him, and soon with Magnolia. He smiled at the pretty bird and then down to the two pups he showed her to.

You know I had never made the connection between Magnolia and Niro until you mentioned it here, I cannot believe that I hadn't lol. Smile WC: 945

The little female looked up at the snowy pelted male as he spoke, he seemed a very knowledgeable creature and she was glad that she had met him. She thought of how lucky Jiva was to have the male as his father, it seemed that he knew a lot about life and that he was more than happy to pass this information on, it seemed that Jiva had a great interest in the birds and it was good that he had a father who shared such an interest, the small female herself had managed to find good parents. Perhaps that was what happened, each new life selected parents that would teach them what they wanted to know and would raise them the way the wished to be raised, sharing their interests. Perhaps of course that it was the other way around, that parents passed on their interests and life choices onto their children, but of course there was a chance that the young wolves selected the parents that they wished to be born to. Perhaps that was why Robin had found herself with her ochre father and her story teller mother, perhaps the pair of them together gave the little female what she wanted and needed from life, a wonderful moral compass, and an imagination that could rival many of the other wolves. For all other things she found that there was at least one other member of the pack who would have some knowledge on the subject, just like Niro here and Noss who was so keen on looking after the horses, it seemed that this was a good place for young wolves to grow up and learn, there were so many here who could teach them and were happy to do so. Robin thought for a moment how lucky she was, how lucky that Linden and Felicity and indeed little Jiva were, the pack lands were a wonderful place to grow up and explore, with many wolves who could act as their guide through life. All the young wolves and dogs who grew up here seemed to have the building blocks to have a wonderful life filled with knowledge and interesting events. The male explained that he did not think that he should answer some of her questions and the little female nodded, perhaps they were the sort of questions that her parents explained to her that she would understand when she was older, just like when she had asked where pups came from; her parents had seemed a little shocked when she had asked that question and had simply told her that one day they would explain, but that she was a little young for now. It was rather frustrating for the small female, she wanted to know everything now!
"Wow, she will grow even more than she has been, that's amazing, she'll be much too big for you to hold!" The little female replied, staring at the bird with wide eyes once again, she was rather shocked at the idea that the large bird could get to be even bigger.

The male then explained about the other birds and the little patchwork girl nodded her multi coloured head, her tail wagging as she peered up into the rafters at the large birds.
"Why do they stay wild? The horses here are not wild, they seem to be rather friendly to the wolves that look after them, do birds stay wilder for longer?" The little girl asked, finding yet another question from their conversation; she was rather talented at that, finding a query to follow ever explanation that had been given. The subject was then changed to the topic of Niro's daughter's present, he explained that she did not live here and the little female's nose crinkled, why did she not stay with her parents? Robin herself lived with both her parents and although she knew that eventually the house would become too small for them all to live in, but she could not imagine leaving the lands, not at all. Then again she supposed that her father lived away from his parents, his mother Anu still living in Crimson Dreams along with Robin's aunt, but he had not moved all that far, sometimes, she supposed, wolves needed their own space, but this pack was her home, she could never imagine leaving it. Maybe one day that would change, but she could not imagine that anyone would ever want to leave, the idea that Niro might not have lived here for all of his life, that his daughter might have been born somewhere else never even crossed the patchwork girl's mind, surely everyone that lived here had done so for a really long time.
"Where does she live? Why does she not live here with you? I live with my parents, I think that I will always be staying here." The little female asked as the male brought the cage into view, she peered into it, her large blue eyes filled with curiousity as she stared into the cage, the bird was indeed beautiful, nice and small and far less imposing than some of the other birds that Niro kept here.
"What would happen if you let it out of the cage? Would it just fly away because it still wants to be outside?" The little female asked, still watching the bird with interest. It was a rather nice creature, the little female wondered for a moment how useful it might be to have a bird, they seemed to be useful for hunting, surely if they ate meat then one could convince them to catch two animals and then share with them?
