ooc;;okay dokay my peoples! i've decided to start this now so we actually have a chance to play this before we leave september behind as well! this is the mabon festival for saul's family in cerne rise! anyone is welcome to join of course! open posting sweets <33
22nd September . 6pm Onwards . Cerne Rise Apartments . Optime Form.

The young man had spent the morning hunting with Eclipse and he felt as though his bond with his cousin had been renewed. In a few months time she would be a year old and she would be completely independent and on her own, if she so wished. She was free to go where she wished and do as she pleased, although the Stormbringer hoped that she would chose to stay in Ichika and Cerne Rise. It pleased him to no end to have his family around him, even if Siku had upped and left without so much as a goodbye. As he had this morning, the male pushed aside these thoughts and concentrated on what needed to be done. He still needed to sort out the common room area to look like a dining room if that was possible. Range and Melee had been uncharacteristically quiet the past month and he wondered how badly their fathers new mate had affected them. Of course, Range had wanted the partnership but Saul had picked up on Melee's negativity fairly quickly. The two had turned a year old not long ago and he wondered what they would chose as their jobs now that they were no longer pups.

Concentrating on dragging the tables together and making sure they were sturdy enough to hold the food they had provided, Saul managed a rickety and mismatching dining area. It wasnt perfect, but nothing ever was these days. The chairs didnt match and the tables often weren't the same height, but it was somewhere to eat and enjoy his families company. He had found an old linen cloth in one of the rooms around Cerne Rise and he stretched it out over the tables to cover up how badly they didnt match. Grinning softly he rearranged chairs into something worth sitting at. Of course, there would be no plates or cutlery at this dinner party. The meat the cousins had caught earlier was being prepared by the brown girl herself and would be laid out in the middle for them all to eat from. Saul and Eclipse had also found a variety of berries and fruits around Ichika that would surrond the meat and offer other options. It was these that Saul arranged now, moving various vegetation back down forward, leaving a large space for the main event.

It would take a while for everyone to turn up, but he hoped they would come. He'd spoken to most of his family about it and a few others that had said they might come for the meal. He knew the rules of Mabon said that everyone in the pack had to eat with someone else and therefore nobody was allowed to be left out. Stretching the male made his way to the front door that had recently been replaced, green eyes blazing golden as he watched the sun dip below the horizon. Others would start arriving shortly, but the young man was happy to watch the sun slip below the horizon and wait for them out here.

Eclipse had been excited since the moment she woke from a restless sleep. It was mostly because she was going hunting with Saul, and though she was small of frame they had been successful. She was an adequate hunter and this would help prove that she could work in a team setting as well, though it was doubtful anyone questioned that of her. She was a very social wolf, though she'd not met everyone in the pack, in fact she had only met a few numbers in the pack itself compared to the loners and other packs over on the other side of the mountain, but that didn't deter her from much thought. Most of the time it was daydreaming about Razekiel. He'd given her a little bit of enlightenment on religious views, and had bluntly taught her about mating, though she would promptly try to forget about that, but she couldn't help but think about him. He was so kind, and had never raised his voice, almost like her daddy. He was a leader too, but that meant little to her. Naryu was a leader and she respected both of them as such. It was that he compared to her dad in that way, though she didn't like him because he was a bit like her dad, albeit in a weird way. His personality was just addicting.

So she was found to be making a dish, from the meat and vegetables from the garden, it wasn't their whole kill, not even half of it. She wasn't sure how many liked cooked meals, so she limited herself, but she'd found herself at a fire pit out back, roasting some of the food mixed and marinated in her own homemade sauce, she was sure to please the mouth. She'd been experimenting on cooking for a while, though she never really made anything for anyone else, so this made her nervous as she was bringing the piping dish into the dining room to be placed with the other food. She set it down on the table and went to find saul.

"Saul, when are we gonna eat?"

She asked. The cooked food was wafting off her and her belly was grumbling in protest. She wanted to eat now, she never waited before, but if she were to eat with the other's she knew she'd have to wait a little longer.

Everyone participating in this thread will be getting a present from Tawny. Big Grin

Word Count → 660

Hours and hours of stressing over this gathering that Saul had invited her to participate in. The holiday required that no one have a meal alone on that day, but Tawny had just thought that she could get away with it. Nobody thought about her ever, right? There was no reason for anyone to want her to be a part of their festivities. It came as a great shock when Saul had mentioned it to her, and then she could not refuse the sweet man. There was no way in heaven or on Earth that she would disappoint him, not after all he had done for her. The girl figured that this was the perfect opportunity to use up some of the supplies she’d gathered on her last exploration.

After dragging a few armloads of stuff outside, she stretched out on the ground, laying on her tummy, and got to work. Threads were braided and beads strung, bones painted and filed down into shapes. Before long she had a small pile of jewelry, colorful rocks, beads and bones glittering in the soft sunlight. This of course wouldn’t be enough for everyone, for she knew that Saul’s family was a large one. Deciding to make extras just in case there were others from the pack attending, like her, she fetched a handful of fish bones and began making a series of necklaces from them. It was so fun! The tiny brittle bones snapped sometimes, but the ones that stayed strong looks so wild, dyed in pretty colors and tied together in odd patterns by colored strings. She really hoped that whoever received the presents would like them.

Before it was time to go, she slid all of the necklaces around her head, letting them hand from her neck and bounce against her chest as she moved. The bracelets and earring pieces were put into the rabbit skin pouch that also hung from her neck. As she was gathering her things and getting ready to walk away from her hut, her eye caught sight of the thing she had made for Saul a while back, this would be the perfect opportunity to give it to him. Smiling happily, the girl wrapped her hands with strips of dried out deer skin before picking the heavy glass up, not wanting to have a repeat of her time with Saul…

It was hard for her little frame to move the piece, but she sucked it up and kept going, staring at the ground and mapping her way by the scents of the forest only. Whenever she smelled someone not of Saul’s family, she changed direction until she caught the right scent again. This probably made her journey take longer, but eventually she got to the outskirts of the town that she knew Saul lived in. Taking a deep breath, she straightened up and walked down the street, glancing around nervously as she went. Being surrounded by the dilapidated buildings was kind of creepy, not something that Tawny enjoyed. She’d have much rather be out in the woods, frolicking in the forest. But…there it was; the apartment building where the Stormbringer family lived.

Hefting the glass piece higher, she trudged up to the front doors of what used to be the lobby and pushed them open gently, walking in and looking around. The sound of Saul’s and Eclipse’s voices came from the room of to the side, so she turned and strode closer. Leaning against the wall, she set the mirror and all of the necklaces and other jewelry on the ground in the corner, then grabbed an old torn up piece of furniture and pushed it in front. She wanted the presents to be a surprise for everyone. "Saul? …I’m here. I b-brought presents f-for your family." She dropped her eyes and leaned back against the wall, feeling nervous and shy, not sure of what she was supposed to do now.

The young male stood back to admire his handiwork. It was neither grand nor splendid and it looked pretty plain with just the raw nuts, berries and fruits that they'd gathered spread around the table. But it was a meal coming together and soon he and Eclipse would bring the deer in and set it in the middle of the table. They'd spent a good few minutes argueing whether to cook it or keep it raw. In the end, they'd split it in half and decided to cook one half of the deer and leave the other half raw. That should satisfy everyone who attended. And for a moment Saul was just happy to know that he would definitely be eating with Eclipse. Even if nobody else turned up, the two of them would not dine alone tonight. He chuckled and straightened up as Eclipse entered with a dish of meat and vegetables that smelt just a little spicy. He hadnt disturbed her whilst she was cooking, the same way she'd left him to titervate in the dining room.

"Looks good Eclipse. And we'll eat when everyone gets here, greedy guts!"

He teased before movement and noise from the lobby caught his attention. It could have been Gideon or Nayru or Melee or Range, but his ears told him it wasnt anyone who lived in the house. It was strange living around your family- when you could tell who was coming in and out of the house just by their footfalls. Of course, the young male didnt spent all of his time listening for his families steps- it was just something he'd picked up on since Siku had left. He could identify who was entering the house almost straight away now. And he would guess that the person entering at the moment was probably Tawny. Her voice wavered out in the air and Saul laughed softly. He'd been right. Moving out of the double doors and down the lobby towards her, he made to give her a big hug.

"You didnt need to do that Tawny... I'm just glad you came to eat with us!"

He exclaimed, knowing exactly how hard it would be for her to sit in a room with his family. But it would be good for her to meet them, to get to know them. Saul knew them all to be wonderful people and he hoped Tawny would come to the same conclusion. A large object caught his eye but he thought better than to ask her outright what it was. Instead he gestured for her to follow her into the dining room where he introduced her to Eclipse with a smile. So it wouldnt be just the two of them on their own after all. He was pleased.

Melee had gotten up early that morning. She wasn't a part of the food capturing and preparing, but that didn't mean she had no role to play in the first Mabon dinner in their new pack. The custom was unfamiliar - it was generated when Ichika No Ho-en was, after all - but that didn't mean she didn't want to participate. Now that she held an adult rank she needed to act more as an adult, after all. Even if her forecasting skills would not be necessary for the purposes of this particular occasion since it was indoors. So she had to find another skill that she could utilize and contribute to the dinner with her family.

So it was that she had gone looking for wildflowers of all colors and sizes. This had been a somewhat difficult task given the time of year, when flora began to wilt and die away for the season. The leaves were changing colors, something she had only seen once before when she was very small. She couldn't really even recall this time last year. It was a hazy memory at best. After all, she had only been a few weeks old. Her eyes hadn't even been open yet! So it wouldn't make sense for her to remember much except the warmth of her father's presence, the annoyance of Range's crawling and her own feeling of oddness at being outside of the womb. This time last year, Gideon had saved her and Range from death. It had been a good year.

The smells of all of the flowers she clutched in her good hand drew memories to her. They were a reminder of the spring that was long gone and the closing of the summer season. It was a perfect way to celebrate this holiday. Entering the feasting area, she noticed Eclipse and Saul already in attendance, as well as Tawny. Her ears swayed politely to Tawny in a quiet greeting, then she walked over to grab Saul into a warm family hug. She was careful to keep the flowers held aloft so that they didn't get crushed in her haste to greet her uncle.

She extended the bouquet at her uncle, offering them to him because he was the wolf who had arranged this whole thing. The smells around her were beginning to make her salivate. "Thought we could do with a bit of color around here to go with that scrumptious smelling food." she remarked, her nose twitching with the smells. If Range, Gideon and Nayru didn't hurry they might miss out!

In Character

Eclipse grumbled puppyishly. She was hungry and she’d worked hard, she wished others would come soon. She wanted to eat what she’d worked so hard to help make. She hoped that the others would enjoy her food, cooking was rare so she was sure most probably preferred having the uncooked portion, but she would see. She started wagging her tail furiously as Tawny came in. She’d seen her once at the ceremony, but she was too deep in thought aobut Razekiel and his head rub that she didn’t really convers with anyone, she just went along with the whole thing. Saul introduced her to Tawny and Eclipse smiled brightly at her. She wasn’t as shy anymore, but a little apprehensive.

When Melee came in though she ran up to her relative and seeing the bouquet she held herself from tackling the girl. She’d met up with her in the city they lived near and they had quite a bit of fun. Melee was fun to be friends with.

“It’s good to see you again Melee, glad you could come!”

The girl said, very happy to see her. She turned to Saul, hopeful, well there were two here, and she was hungry, smiling at her she jumped up and down with pleading eyes. As much as she acted like an adult, she was still just a puppy. Eventually she would mature but now was not that time. Right now it was suppose to be dinner time. She knew they were missing Naryu and other members, and she would still wait, but she couldn’t help but try to get Saul into crumbling down and lettign her have something to eat, though she snuck a few pieces of carrot in her mouth when she was cooking, but she wasn’t going to tell him that, not when there was a chance to have a bite more before everyone got back.

Hellooooo everyone!!!! Hope you dont mind if Ren stops by for some socializing lol

The woman had been collecting little crystals and pieces of glass from around the abandoned vineyard to prepare for this special event. Since her coming to the new packlands she did her best to educate herslf on everything there was to know about the Ichickans. Thus her excitement for today was over the top. She had worked slowly throughout the morning threading string and wires through the small holes in the see-through pieces. She was going to present one to Noah for a gift and the rest were for the celebration.

"Ouch." She said almost absentmindedly as a piece cut into her skin. She frowned and decided some pieces weren't safe enough for the prism mobiles she was making. thus she gathered all of the sharp ones and tossed them into the trash. By late morning she had five mobiles and a special blue and white one that she put in a brown box with twine around it for Noah. After approoving her work and packing the delicate things up she went to get dressed into a simple light blue dress and head out for the aparments.

She got lost once or twice....Ok maybe three times She admitted to herself as she finally found her way to Sauls home to eat before going to have a night with her love. Rendall knocked on the door before realizing it was open. She entered carefulyl and smiled in greetings to everyone. "Hello everyone I hope you dont mind If I join you." She smiled again and held up the bag "I brought some things for decoration." She gently removed a mobile from the bag and held it up to the light for everyone to see. "What do you think?"

Mo peoples. Eff yesh...poor Tawny.

Word Count → 378

Tawny followed Saul into the main room, the scent of cooked and raw meat making her tummy grumble. Thinking back, she realized that she hadn’t had a good meal for a few days, simply snacking on jerky strips every now and then to curb the growing hunger. Those habits were the ones that she needed to break and grow out of. Now that she was in a pack, where the others would help to protect and take care of her well being, she had to start thinking about becoming healthier. She had a duty to these people, though her art and jewelry wasn’t that great and didn’t make much of an impact on anyone, she felt obligated to shower gifts upon them all.

The little woman smiled at Eclipse and waved a little bit at the girl before going to the back corner of the room and crawling up into a big broken chair. At one time it would have been plush and good looking, but now it was dirty and one of the legs was broken, making it lean awkwardly. She yawned widely and curled up on the large cushion, making her body fit easily and watching as other people began to show up. So far it was all females and young ones at that. It made her feel a bit more comfortable, as the only male was Saul and she trusted him completely. The females though…were not trusted nearly as much. She was more nervous around women and girls than males, and always had been. Her mother and the other female members of her birth pack had been the ones to abuse her the most, causing the notion that females were just plain mean to become ingrained in her mind.

Lying there watching them gather; she felt the stirring in her heart and mind, the need to be a part of a family. The girl craved contact and interaction, but she was too nervous about pursuing it that she ended up isolating herself from others. Sighing softly to herself, she closed her eyes and just listened to the sounds of their voices, taking comfort in the fact that she had been invited and was thought of by someone that didn’t wish to hurt her.

Melee grinned at her cousin and wagged her tail. Once the bouquet was safe, she would grab Eclipse up into a big hug. "Hey cousin! Happy Mabon to you!" she replied, wagging her tail. The last time that they had hung out was when they had found gardening tools in the old city. They would need to go on another adventure soon. Especially now that Range seemed to be more and more busy doing his own thing, she more often than not had to do things on her own. Hopefully he would at least make it to the family celebration, though. Else he would have to find some other pack members to eat with. That didn't sound like something that Range would do... but she hadn't seen him today. So for all she knew, he had forgotten about the Mabon feast entirely. Hopefully not, though, because the food smelled delicious. Then again, that would mean more food for her and the rest of the wolves in attendence!

Someone else came to the feast that she didn't know. A female. She thought that she might have seen the other wolf somewhere - perhaps at the Festival? - but couldn't place a name. Melee liked the pretty mobile that she had brought, though, and stared at it with interest. "Neat!" she said admiringly, watching the lights. It would be a great addition to their Mabon feast! That along with her bouquet added some prettiness to the room. They could observe it while they ate... if they ever ate. The smell of food was distracting her from admiring the beauty for too long. She looked over at Saul. "Any idea where my dad, stepmom and Range are?" she asked, knowing that those family members at least should still be on their way. Her stomach growled as if to accentuate her hunger.
