left vague so setting can be anywhere within the pack lands. Anyone is welcome, only 1 please.

It was without any instruction or direction from any will other than his own that sent the massive stallion far from the borders of his home. Traveling to the west Rem had not bothered to detour around the Crimson Dreams borders. The horse was already quite familiar with Shiloh Hills and even a fair amount of Ethereal Eclipse. In truth the horse knew the lands much better than his rider, but then he was older and perhaps even a little wiser. His pace slowed once he reached the Serene Reserve and the start of unknown territory.

It was then he seemed to roam almost aimlessly as any dumb herbivore might. Though as he walked around eating a nibble of this and a bite of that, he took in the terrain. Occasionally, Rem would scrap up a spot before laying down and rolling. He had been doing so since he had left Cour des Miracles, doing his best to smell of these lands and less of the pack from which he hailed. For when he came to the AniWayan borders he did not pause, even his equine nose could detect the scent of the pack though he ignored none the less. He was not subject to the laws of wolves.

What Rem desired to know was where Anu was being held. Though he was content to explore the pack lands at a leisurely. The only thing he truly avoided were the stables of the pack. Knowing that if anyone was find his scent alarming it was more likely to be another stallion.

J'adore had found himself with little to do that day. Mizu was in the best shape she had been in a while and J'adore had been able to leave Ferrari and Iskander with her for a while. They were both considerate children and always toned down their antics when in the company of their mother. While they didn't understand the full story and J'adore was sure neither Mizu nor himself would tell them til they were in their 'mid-teens'. It wasn't a particularly nice story, but when they could handle the sheer horror he felt it was nessicary to honor their dead siblings by telling them of the day.

He had chose to rid Luz again, giving 'Quera a much needed rest from his tiring charger training. The bay mare's training was always a little less tiring, but that was simply due to the fact that she was more of an agility steed. It was better to have diversity when training personal war horses. In the end however both would end up with the same skills, more or less.

The warrior and his horses reached the borders, or at least they were in sight. The Spaniard was a little inland from it but any trespassers would be spotted almost immediatly. Speaking of which, from where the bay made her route he could see a black horse. And judging by 'Quera's stoicness to it, a stallion. He was usually outgoing and intrested in the AniWayan horses, and seemed to reguard strange mares with nothing about a short gaze. But when it came to srange male, he usually remained obviously, almost overly stoic.

Kicking Luz onwards, he approached the horses slowly. He at first assumed that the male's owner was somewhere close, but after looking round it seemed this horse was lone. He was cautious with the shadowy creature, unsure of it's reaction. 'Hey'.

sorry for the wait, been ill

Long before the others had appeared their foot fall told of their approach. Dark, angular ears turned toward the sounds of the hoof falls and large nostrils flared as Rem tested the air for the scent of riders. Though by the time they managed to come within sight Rem seemed to be doing little than grazing as he watched them from the corner of an eye. He hoped they would simply pass him on by and leave him to continue about his way. There was much of these lands left to explore and he had yet to find that which he sought.

His large head lifted as they approached with ears pinned forward in a curious and welcoming expression. His sides shook as he whinnied a greeting to the other horses, though he eyed the rider with more caution than he regarded his companions. A few swishes of his tail was all that hinted at his mild annoyance and was casual enough that anyone might dismiss the gesture as trivial, as it was.

The pale eyes of the wolf seemed to search for another as if he suspected the large horse was not alone, but Rem had come without his canine companion. It was easier this way and no one would suspect that the horse alone was gather any sort of useful information. It was not as if he could relay his findings to his predatory counter part anyway, but that hardly made his knowledge useless. He would not waste his time being here if that were the case. Rem only looked directly at the mounted canine as it spoke what he recognized as one of the simplest of greetings. Dark eyes regarded the creature with little interest before Rem lowered his head and resumed his idle grazing as he turned away from them. Perhaps they would take no further interest in him and would be about their way. Leaving him to be about his own way.

OOC here!

It seemed the shadowy creature was alone, but still J'adore could smell another wolf on his body. Perhaps it had wandered away from it's master, or perhaps just like the Spaniard his owner allowed him to wander around of his own accord too. 'You know, I'm pretty sure your trespassing', he said softly. It seemed a little foolish to J'adore to be speaking to a horse so his words were met with a brief smile. As the darker horse gave out a casual call to the equine duo which J'adore sheparded, 'Quera brayed back and Luz gave a silent bob of her head. The Spaniard noted the tail flick, but he ignored it, it was nothing obviously angry after all.

'You alone?' he asked, expecting no answer of course as his own horses turned down their head's to graze. He only meant alone as of now, without his master beside him. He could smell his owner on him, but the scent was lost on him. 'You should head off before someone notices your gone', he paused and frowned, 'Or befor someone else captures you'. He himself wouldn't, but this creature seemed strong and there was no telling if Maska and his associates would be in the mood for collecting war horses.

If any scent of Anann’s still lingered upon him, the horse trusted that it was faint at best. It had been several days since he had left the borders and longer still since his charge had been capable of riding. It had been well over a month and for much of that time Anann had been stuck within the large and bulky four-legged form she possessed, though Rem only knew that it had simply been a long time. And then there was all his rolling. It was natural for horses to roll in dirt, to help shield against the bite of flies and to suffocate ticks and lice. However rolling for the purpose of scent cover was a tactic the horse had learned from his wolf brethren. So it was fragrant patches of flora that he often chose to roll in over bare patches of earth and their mild scent. In the mind of the horse it was unlikely that even the scent of his lands lingered upon him, if anything, he smelled only faintly of wolf. Not to say it was not enough for the pale eyed male to suspect he had a rider. His physical condition allow could easily lead one familiar with horses, as this one appeared to be, to deduce the truth.

The words of high speech were not lost on the horse, for he grasped the language of the lupines even if he could not duplicate their sounds. Still he paid the rider little attention and casually let the distance between them increase as seemed to do nothing more than graze idly. Yet, Male did not disregard him as he might have hoped. It wasn’t until the pale eyed creature spoke of capture that his head rose from the grass he nipped at. Dark eyes stared hard at the mounted wolf through the length of his forelock and nostrils widened in a snort. Unlikely was his only thought towards the matter. The thick mass of his long and curly tail flicked behind again, though angular ears pressed forward. It was the captured that he was interested in. Yet he was not sure how to address such a point to the unknown wolf, or if he could even be trusted. The creature had only issued you gentle words of warning and had yet to pressure the horse into fight or flight.

OOC:: Hello

The horses snort of disagreement brought out a chuckle from the Spaniard's lungs, 'No, I didn't think you'd agree with that'. He dismounted swiftly with a low grunt, removing his hands from the shoulders of his hooved kin. 'Well, a horse such as yourself will have no trouble escaping I'm sure' he said, a solemn tinge to his words. 'Not like the other prisioners'. Spoils of war, though J'adore had no interest in them unless a possibility emerged to break them free. But as much as he racked his brain, with the guardians on full alert going anywhere near the prisioners, or aiding in any part of an escape would be social sucide. And he did not want to see his children shame by their father. So he kept his head down.

'Quera stepped forward, only a pace or so, using the same cautious method as his Spaniard master. He brayed softly, curious and interested by this darker creature. He had only met the other AniWayan horses so far, at least within Nova Scotia. He had never payed any attention to the horses he had been stuck with when he was up for trade. And Luz had been the first non AniWayan horse he had given any stock to. She was his closest friend, but his curiosity to other creatures of his kind still held high.

The friesian stallion watched with interest as the canine slid from the back of the mare. Rem was still unsure of the wolf's true intentions, leaving the horse to err on the side of caution in the predator's presence. Still, the dark horse did not fear the canine and doubted that he was going to cause Rem any undue complications with his mission here. Yet as the wolf spoke there was a change in the horse that came with his last words. Rem's head rose in alert and ears pressed forward eagerly. Yes, the prisoners. The large beast took a single step forward and he bobbed his head. Hoping that the wolf might continue on the subject.

The other horses were of less interest than the canine to the friesian war horse, but he could hardly ignore the others, as the stallion called out to him and made a few steps of approach. Rem knickered back softly, his head lowering as he addressed the other horse, his neck and nose streching out in the other's direction as he sniffed at the air. Rem had no desire for the other stallion to find him a threat to his position here.

OOC:: Hello

The positive response he earned from the steed brought a smile to his face. 'Ahh, you're here for information' he dechipered. 'Clever people those Courtisans and Dreamers...' he noted, a chuckle sounding out, 'Sending their steeds to spy on these lands'. He meant no harm by these comments, he was actually impressed. Even if the Courtisans or the Dreamers didn't send this black beast he still found himself entertained by the intelligence of the creature.

'If you want to know about them, I'm sure I can tell you' he answered, moving slowly closer. 'I'm not sure where exactly Maska and the guardian's are keeping them, I suppose they are trying to keep them from us. But they're being forced to construct weapons and work for them'. J'adore paused, 'That's all I know' he admitted softly, racking his brain for anything more that could be of use to the horse. 'Most of the prisoners spend their time away from the main Village, which I guess is better since any rescuers are away from Maska's sight'. His wisdom was honest, for he himself opposed to the userpers. 'Though in my opinion it's the guardians you need to watch out for'.

This will be my last post in this thread, so if you don't feel like replying to it feel free to archive it. Thanks!

It would seem that luck had been with Rem in crossing paths with this AniWayan male, as the wolf picked up on his cues. The horse had come to expect being underestimated. Few credited him with the intelligence he held. To so many wolves he was just another dumb prey animal and they could see beyond his species and rather mute tongue. His life had been spent amongst wolves and had learned much from their ways, and this had diversified the stallion from the majority of his own kind.

The pale eyed wolf was perceptive in seeing Rem’s true objective, but was somewhat wrong in thinking the horse had been sent for he had come solely of his own accord. His charge was not capable of traveling and investigating on her own. Besides she was held to the social laws of the wolves and while Rem payed little mind to the scent marking’s that made up the border, to Anann they would have been an impenetrable wall, at least not without consequence. Consequences that would be far too steep in these times of war.

Eagerly Rem absorbed the information that was offered. Never faltering as the wolf edged closer. Not every word was recognized by the horse, but enough. It was a comfort to know that he may indeed find their location without having to brave the village he hoped to avoid. A single strange horse roaming the lands surely wouldn’t attract too much attention, but someone would find it odd for an unknown horse to be roaming the village of so many strange canines. The horse gave a dip of respect of his head in thanks and moved close enough that the wolf might offer a hand in friendship for the horse to sniff before he would turn and trot away. He had gained what he could from this chance encounter and now it was time he made use of it.
