Angry table til Mati calms him down Wink And backdated a bit probably? To around the time Alder's around?

When the news had trickled down into his ears he had been unable—unwilling—to believe it. AniWaya had attacked his birth home, and worse, his mother had been captured by the savages and was now held captive. The moment he had learned the news he had burst from the house with uncontrollable rage. Princess had run after him and begged him not to do anything rash, and it was her concerns that were the only rope holding him back from rushing headlong into AniWaya to free his mother. At first his rage was mostly centered on himself, as it often was in the case of ill befalling his family. He should have been there to protect her. Perhaps he had been a fool to not return to Crimson Dreams. He could have kept her safe. No one could have been able to take Anu if her Knightly son had been protecting her.

As time went on however, the anger morphed and redirected itself onto his former home. Why had they not rescued her yet? Were they afraid? Were they even trying? Alder had left some days past and it was no hard task guessing where his masked brother had gone to. It was the most angry he had ever seen the usually quiet and timid male, but even with the rage that burned in the giant's belly, Alder was no fighter. If he went to try and save their mother, he would undoubtedly be caught. Haven, on the other hand, might just stand a chance.

The Seneschal left that day to make his border patrol and acted as he had for all these past days since the news of Anu's captivity had come. Carefully, and without Princess' knowledge, he had transferred bit-by-bit the armor he had into the stables so he could make a quiet escape of the Court lands. Today was the day he would save his mother. Haven saddled Drogon and tied two bags filled with his armor on either side. To don it now would draw suspicion if anyone saw him. The horse and rider left the stables and followed the borders of their pack, but when they reached the westernmost edge they continued on instead of curving back around.

The Aatte had kept their pace fairly leisurely so as not to tire Drogon, but when they reached the borders of his old home the fire of his anger burst hotter in his chest and he edged the stallion up into a canter. He had planned to make a silent pass through the Dreaming lands, but as he thought of how they had not yet saved Anu his muzzle contorted in anger and a mocking howl shot into the air. I am going, it said, I am going to do what you have not.

Mati had been in a deep angry sort of depression since the AniWayans had raided the pack lands. The woman hadn't gone with the group to retrieve her lost Mother. Part of her was shamed, angered at her own fear and her need to stay close to her mate during these times. She was scared, terrified for her mother and demanded to know what had happened the moment the party returned. When her silver mother had not come back with them she had cried, hard tears that mixed with her growing hatred and anger. The only thing that gave her hope was the voice inside that told her that Anu would come home. Mati believed in hope, she knew that Anu was strong enough to survive this. But that still didn't make each passing moment easy to live.

She lingered around the lake, her form shifted down into her lupus body. But when a call came up through the air she closed her eyes and grew to the intimidating halfling form. Her bulking figure shot through the woods, and though slower then her lupus she pushed her muscles towards the sound. But it was familiar, not the enemy and yet the anger and the unease that lingered in the air of Crimson Dreams Mati would make no exceptions.

The scent of a horse came to her, and then the normally comforting smell of her brother. Mati slowed, at the sight of the Knight atop the mustang in the distance and raised her head, nose to the sky, and let loose her own song. It was unfair, for all of them. But she knew that he could not go. She needed him now, and he would do more good to comfort her and to be comforted then to go off and be outnumber and killed. For this moment, there was nothing they could do.

You can feel free to have Mati know the details of the parley, I'm sure Savina would have told her Smile

Fire seemed to course through his veins as Drogon's hooves beat against the hard ground, making the unmistakable sound of haste. He doubted that any would come to try and stand in his way. First, because with his horse moving so quickly it would take them no time at all to cross the breadth of the lands he had once called home. Most importantly though, who would really try to stand in his way when he was going to do what they apparently refused to? As far as the Knight was concerned, they should have been sending endless missions to the tribe until his mother was recovered and back where she belonged. After everything Anu had done for them all, they should all be working themselves bloody to get her back. They could hold back and not dirty their paws if they wished, but he would no longer stand idly by while the AniWayans did who knows what to the only true parent he had.

In this distance he saw the large form of a secui wolf appear and his eyes narrowed at it. If they thought they would stop him on his mission, they were mistaken. However when the called echoed out across the air to him he paused in his one-track thoughts. It was his sister who had appeared, and he knew he could not simply ride past and ignore her. As he neared her, the Knight pulled hard upon his steed's reins and Drogon came to a halt was a frustrated snort. The horse sensed his rider's impatience and anger and was just as eager to get on with their mission. Jade eyes looked down at his littermate, a hard expression etched upon his face. I'm going to save her Mati. I'm sick of waiting for everyone here to lift a finger to help her. His frustration and anger were evident in his voice, and he obviously was not asking for her permission to go through with his plan.

Deep violet eyes watched the large horse. She had not always understood the connect between wolves and horses, but she knew that her brother loved this stallion as he did his family. The creatures intimidated her, perhaps by lack of exposure. Yet the woman held strong as the two traveled closer, stopping far before her large form. Haven remained seated on the horse, to Mati's discomfort and spoke down to her perked steady ears. Her hulking shoulders felt the breeze as her fur rose slightly at his hostile tone, and her muscles tinged and pricked from the hard pressed run they had just been put through.

She knew his anger, and understood his frustration. But Mati also understood the circumstances that caused these results of occur. He needed to see the turmoil that ran through Savina at every passing moment, then he would see that they were not simply waiting. It will not solve anything. She told him, voice deep with seriousness. There are too many able fighters. She explained, the few extra breaths easing her initial defensive reaction.

Mati missed her mother. Savina spoke that she was alive and only marred by flesh wounds, but the Church woman was not fooled by the vague description. She feared for their mothers safety and her health, but her mate would not tell her the odds that she may die of infection.

He expected his sister to understand. To give him words of encouraged. To tell him to bring their mother home to her. The man could expect nothing else, not with the heat that was in his blood. She had to feel the same way, for there was no other way to feel when one's mother was in mortal danger. Haven did not have a mind for strategy, not the way a leader did. If he had been with Savina that day, he would have understood. Haven would have known that the Consul had had no other choice but to retreat empty-handed. The Aatte's ignorance only left him with one option though, and that was to fight for Anu's return. Battle held no fear for him, but what might happen to her if she was not returned to safety soon did.

When Mati denied him though, his anger flared. How can you say that?! he yelled. Drogon neighed in agitation and rose to his hind legs as his front hooves pawed at the empty air. I will ride them down! I will kill them if I have to! We cannot leave her there to rot! Though all his fire was being poured out in front of his sister right now, he was not mad at her. He was angry with Savina, with Crimson Dreams as a whole, and with himself. All the inaction had been eating away at the Knight and he had finally burst.

Mati knew his anger, and felt the same guilt that caused his rage to become a fury of fired emotion. She had not been there either, and she should have. She had not been able to go and retrieve her either. The pack would have been foolish to leave their home undefended while the most able fighters went off to negotiate, and so there was a party left behind. She hated to think of their mother in the grip of another wolf, terrified and thinking she was going to die.

The horse rose to kick above the ground, Haven's yelling words filling and feeding the electric air around them, but Mati stood her ground. She could feel rage as well, and though her understood his feelings she could not help but feel the judgment that he placed on them. They could have all been killed, the alphess that she had been loyal to her entire life as well as those that had dedicated themselves to the Dreamers. She felt a ripple of an awakening growl touch her throat and radiate to quivering lips.

Then you will both die! She yelled back at him. Mati had not seen the fear in her mother eyes, when the AniWayan traitor of their trust and alliance had put the knife to their mothers soft throat. But she could picture it in her mind and it forced tears to her purple orbs. They said they would kill her, when Savina went to get her. He put a knife to her throat. Mati felt the anger turn to grief and her fur lay smooth and her ears fell back against her head, haunches weakened and lowering slightly as her tail did too. To her throat... She repeated. She has never hurt anyone!! Mati now yelled at him, tears in her eyes. And they will kill her... Their garden mother, their story teller, their keeper of secrets and the one that understood their mistakes and forgave them. A simple creature that lived to see the Sun rise and give her thanks for the blossoming of marigolds. For all Mati knew she had been laid in a dark hole to die without the simplest comfort of her gods warmth...

Erin fail : / Time for sad table! 300+

His sister stood her ground as he yelled and raged at her atop his stallion. Some may have been surprised at the Praefectus' bravery and nerve, since most who knew her here saw her as a quiet and kind woman who looked after the pack's young. Haven knew though, knew that the same steel that ran down his spine was also present in his littermate. Mati might not have the same sort of strength that her brother did, but it was there, and he had never doubted her courage.

She yelled that they would both die and the Knight scoffed, looking down at his sibling with disbelief in his fiery green eyes. If she thought the AniWayan slime could defeat him so easily, she was wrong. He was no young boy who knew nothing of battle anymore. True, he was not as experienced as some, but he had taken a life. He had watched the light fade from another canine's eyes after he had plunged his sword into him. Haven knew what it was to kill, and he would kill to save his mother without batting an eye.

It was what she said next though that finally brought true fear and doubt into his heated chest. It was if a bucket of ice water had been thrown over him and the rage slowly melted from his strong face. They had threatened her with death. They had put a knife at her throat. His mother...the most kind, gentle soul he had ever known. How could this have happened? He stared at Mati, dumbfounded, as she continued to speak and felt the truth of her previous words sink in. He could not do this on his own. Even if they didn't kill him, they could kill her. The Knight's shoulders slumped and bi-colored ears folded back against his head. Suddenly he felt like a lost little boy again.

Mati could hardly watch as her words broke through the anger. The wall crumbled, but the Church woman felt as if she was crumbling too. It was only when he did not reply that Mati could look at him again, waiting for him to retaliate. But he did not, the truth was more then he could bare. The woman took another step closer. She felt slightly stronger, the rage he had wielded no longer threatening their mothers well being as well as his life. She didn't know what she would have done if he raced off passed her, but she was thankful that she didn't need to find that answer.

There was silence between them, the air's static energy seemed to lower and the tension eased. Mati looked away again, the pressure of the war had taken it's toll on the female. No matter how strong she tried to be, she was far from capable of handling this much pain. She inhaled and with the long heavy exhale she spoke. One wolf can't fix this. We have to do it together. Eyes still did not look up at the Knight. Overpowering AniWaya would take more then what the Dreamers could do. Mati did not know of a plan yet, but they needed to figure one out.

Now that the fire inside him had been temporarily extinguished he felt guilt for yelling at his sibling. This wasn't Mati's fault and he had been wrong to throw his anger out at her. It had been nothing short of a tantrum and he was far too old to be throwing those any more. The Knight knew better. Haven sighed, scratching the back of his neck guiltily as the silence stretched on. Action was the only way he had finally found to cope with all this, and now that had been taken away as well. He felt useless, and to the Aatte there was no worse feeling than that.

She spoke again and Haven looked down at her with jade eyes that could not catch her amethysts. Mati was right...but how? Him alone helping his old pack would not be enough. "Maybe..." he trailed off, thinking for a moment. "Maybe I could talk to Vigilante." Even as he said the words though, the Knight was unsure. Would his King really put the Court at risk to help the neighboring pack? He knew the hybrid was a good man with good morals, but his duty was first and foremost to Cour des Miracles. Getting them involved in a war would not necessarily be the best move for the monarch.

Haven continued to look at his sister, hoping she would look back at him. "I'm sorry Mati."

Mati had been grateful when Oak and Cypress stayed in Crimson Dreams while they matured. She had been the only one of the pups to stay with Anu after Haven left. The others drifted away, and then when Alder left Mati worried that she would be all that Anu had if the others went too. It was not that their mother was in need of constant support, Mati simply wanted her to feel surrounded by her family. And for her to always know their love when others had so easily left her.

Now Anu was the one missing, taken from them. She hated the feeling, and she knew Haven was feeling that same exact pain. She understood his fury, but he needed to understand her fear.

The wolfess stepped closer to the mustang, her brother's words showing that he was beginning to understand. It was a hard truth, one that hit the heart like an arrow. Mati watched as his heart's wound began to weep, his apology assuring her that he would not try this mission. They were all at a loss of ideas and feeling helpless. But they would find a way to save her and the others that Maska's warriors had taken. She felt stronger now, her crying eased slightly. It will take all of us. She repeated. Mati would fight too, though she was no knight like Haven. But she would join him, though only when the time was right.

Please, please talk to your King. She pleaded.
