The Endless Tunnels of Blue

AS EVANE WALKED ALONG THE EDGE OF THE LAKE, she couldn't help but glance at her own reflection. As her sky blue eyes stared back at her, she blinked and turned back forward. She wanted to see if maybe a river or something of the sort was coming from this lake, thus she could travel to different isolated locations. Though she knew that there was a chance that it lead to another wolf pack, she felt confident that she wouldn't run into one.

ZAS'PARSUS' EARRINGS JINGLED as her ear twitched. She sniffed the air for any unfamiliar scents, and making sure her own was covered up well enough so someone couldn't track her down. ...No, she was still safe. For now, that is.

AFTER A LONG DAY OF TRAVELING, Evane saw that the sun was going down, and decided to rest here. She took a sip of water from the lake and trotted into the forest to the left of it. She silently stalked through the brush, trying to avoid all the twigs and sticks that could easily give away her location if she happened to step on it, and found a nice secluded spot surrounded by thick, prickly vines. There was a small opening between the vines, just big enough so the black she-wolf could get through, and crawled through it and lay down in the dirt. She exhaled deeply and closed her eyes. She deserved a long, undisturbed rest for all of her work from today. So if something--or someone--interrupted it, she would be more than happy to knock their lights out.

Lol, like I'll be able to knock Niro's lights out, anyway. XD

Niro didn't expect to be out so late, nor this far from his home, he decided it was time to set up camp, he just had to find the right place first. He was out searching for any nests he could possibly catch a raptor, he had a device he was sure would work, though it would be hell getting home from here. He just never expected to go out so far. Marahute was sitting on his shoulder watching the area nearby. She had spotted something that Niro had not, though she was far better at seeing things that didn't want to be seen. Jumping from his shoulder she glided to the ground, something she rarely did. She still couldn't even fly, so Niro was startled when he didn't feel the usual weight of the golden eagle as she took off. Looking her way he spotted the makings of a good camp. Smiling he nodded to her, though she wasn't paying attention. She was looking inside a bush, though her interest was lost and she turned to Niro who was gathering some wood. He was humming a song, it was out of tune and it was old, one his mother had hummed when she was alive. Soon he had a small fire going and was finding something he could lean on while he rested hmself and cooked up some of the meat he'd caught today. It wasn't a bad day, good time to get away from the family for a little while, though he wished he had caught himself a bird rather than dinner. Though he didn't like the idea of being hungry either. He hummed to himself still oblivious to anything nearby, though he was sure to hear it if it moved. He may look like he wasn't paying attention but ever since meeting up with Argul he had been more cautious as to who he let in his campsite with him.

Evane lay completely still as she watched the pearly grey wolf hum to himself. If she even made the slightest sound possible, this wolf would know her location almost instantly. And she certainly didn't want her beloved isolation lost.

The ebony wolf assumed that he was somewhat aware of her presence, seeing as how that dumb bird looked her straight in the eye some time ago. And yet, it flew off as if it didn't even notice her. Strange...

As the striking blue eyes of the wolf blinked at the other two, her tail slowly arched up a bit...And her eyes widened.

Oh, what wonderful timing. Her tail was now stuck in the vines.

Evane tried not to panic, but getting her tail out would be at a deadly cost: sound. It would give her location away so instantaneously that she wouldn't even have time to react. More than likely, this wolf would be hot on her trail right when the time came.

The wolf tried to softly wiggle her tail out, but it wouldn't budge. She was so very tempted to just reach back there and chomp down on the vines, but she knew better than that. So she went ahead and planned what she would do if a sound happened to be made.

As quick as possible, she would dart out of the vines and run off. However, the only problem was that she was in unfamiliar territories. She was used to her old home, and though she was very resourceful, this wolf probably knew more about the land than she did. Why else would he be here?

After swearing to herself to head directly back to her cave back in Seabreeze Brink, she shut her eyes with force...and quickly pulled her tail out of the vines. She instantly began to crawl back out of the crawlspace and got to her feet, ready to run like the wind away from the other canine.

OOC: Sorry for short and very late reply ; ;

Niro was starting to feel a presence near him, though he heard nothing at all, it was as though he was being watched. Marahute was perched on his leg as he warmed his hands over the fire. It was bright now, and its light fluttered over the trees and bushes, making the whole thing seem ominous. So when he hear the snap of the vine snap, he turned to the bush, ready for an attacker.

“Who's there, why are you spying on me? Show yourself, trust me you can't outrun me, my eagle can claw your eyes out in seconds.”

Of course she couldn't fly, but whoever it was didn't know that. Not yet at least, he was not going to attack anyway, as long as whoever it was, was gone and out of sight he would be fine, but to get answers from them would be even better. He did not take to spying kindly, though he didn't know he had stumbled on her own camp before she started spying on him. His eyes scanned around the bush ready to find out at least who was hiding.
