the ants go marching

Val likes ants. I'm a little bad at starting, sorry :C

Valinta lay on the ground on her stomach, clutching a small jar she had found and staring a line of bugs traversing the sandy soil. Her golden eyes were wide open, showing her intense interest in the small creatures. When another insect not of their type approached, they attacked and killed it with a single-minded brutality, protecting their colony at all costs.

Ants. They were absolutely amazing. The chocolate-furred female resolved to find a book about ants, and learn to read English. Or have someone read it to her. Sometimes her lack of knowledge in the language of the land she lived in was a hindrance, but sometimes it was handy. If she didn't want to know something, she didn't have to know it. She didn't speak the language.

Tipping the jar down onto it's side carefully, not wanting to harm the precious creatures, Valinta watched with curiosity and love as the insects wandered into the jar, and more followed. When she had more than a dozen, but less than a hundered, she smiled and lifted the container. Scooping some stragglers on the sides into the narrow mouth, she lovingly gazed at the delicate cargo and then corked the fluted top. She would feed them and love them and watch them day after day. The insects were beautiful, and amazingly intriguing.

It's fine, I am too, lol. song

It had been several days since Rurik had met Amaranth and had her assistance in healing his wounds, and even more since they had actually been inflicted; a long slash to his back and a hard bite to his shoulder. his shoulder was healed now, giving him no troubles at all and nothing but a few small scars under his fur remained of the wounds. His back was almost healed as well, still rather tender, but not gaping open and infected like it had been before.

After Amaranth had healed him, he had decided to stay in the area for a while, just to see what was around, he had never really ventured to these parts before. He had been wandering for a few hours by now and was growing rather bored with himself. He didn't think that starting a fire in the middle of a forest would be such a hot idea, pun not intended, so he needed a secondary form of entertainment. Luckily for him, and the forest, he had such a thing. He walked around for a bit, looking for a clearing large enough for his plans.

After just a bit of searching he found a small cleaning that would suit his needs quiet nicely. Setting his pack, katana, dagger, and cloak down by a tree, he walked to the middle of the clearing and stood there for a moment holding his staff. After a few seconds of what seemed to be him deep in thought, he began to slowly spin his staff around his hand, slowly getting faster and faster. Then, he began stepping around, his feet gliding over the ground as he swung and spun his pole around him in a blur, never staying in one place too long. To the casual on looker it would look like he was dancing to no music, but no one would ever see him doing this if he could help it. He only did this if he was sure no one would see him, and he was fairly certain that he was alone out here.

sorry I'm such a nofo fail...

Valinta clutched the jar of ants as she walked along with huge strides to compensate for her lack of height. Stumbling on a clearing, she saw a man twirling a big stick. She sat down and promptly ignored him, favoring the insects she held over a fellow Luperci. In the female's mind, it was perfectly acceptable to ignore a fellow person in favor of something she loved. After all, wasn't love the purest of emotions? It didn't exist outside of a few rare scenarios, sure, but it was a great excuse to ignore someone.

Cradling the jar, Valinta ignored the man as she walked aroudn the clearing staring at her new companions. She could get honey, she decided. Dilute the honey with water and feed that to them. That would be good, wouldn't it? Nodding resolutely, the woman smiled. Her darkening fur stood out against the green that she sat upon, and as she watched them, her gaze drifted up to the man once every now and then.

He had large gashes up his back, and the woman glanced at her side when she saw them. They reminded her of her own large and perilous scars. She soothed herself by realizing that his own scars were smaller than hers in relation to body size, and besides, her scars were huge. Shaking her thick braid, the female finally decided to actually acknowledge his presence. "Hello." she said. Acknowledgment, done. Onto the next item in her to-do list.

OOC herpderp? / +yo numbah!

Rurik was so involved in what he was doing that he didn't even notice the female until he was nearly finished. He only caught a glimpse of her, but it had looked like she had a jar of something. It didn't really bother him much, as long it wasn't anything weird like poo or a severed body part. It could happen. He finished his routine and stopped, panting lightly from the exertion of it. After a few seconds he walked over to his pack and picked up his cloak, katana, and dagger and put them back on, but left his pack where it was for now.

He debated whether or not he should go over and say hi or stay where he was. He opted for the second choice. Taking a seat on the ground with his back leaned up against the tree, he looked out to the forest while keeping the stranger in his peripheral vision. After a bit he began to wonder if she had even noticed him, that was until she said hello.

"Hi" was his simple reply. Give what you get. He glanced over at her and noticed that she seemed to be examining a glass jar filled with dirt. He wondered to himself what could possibly be in the jar to invoke such interest. "Hey...whatcha got in the jar?" He asked, trying to sound at least moderately interested.
