My Angel Tonight [Initiation Task]
#1
[ooc: Hey, hope you don't mind the slight powerplay when she wakes, Honey. Also needs the task assigned]

That morning, Siku awoke with a start and a light gasp. She had forgotten that she made it back to Ichika, and it all felt like a groggy dream until she noticed the warmth of another body pressed against her. Delight and desire enveloped her body, and Siku turned her head to nuzzle Saul affectionately. She knew he was an early riser, he tended to wake up earlier than everyone else. Waiting for his response, Siku curled in closer and simply enjoyed the feel of his body close to hers. She took a moment to recall all that had happened the night before, their emotional reunion and his confusingly distant reaction at first. Siku worried frequently about how everyone would react before she returned, but over all Saul's greeting at the border was not as hostile as she had expected. He was wary, of course, but his soft heart prevented him from giving her too much trouble. This had slipped right over Siku's head last night, but now she wondered about it. Would all of Ichika reject her but Saul? Would they hate her for running away?

Siku turned over, facing the object of her affections with a look of concern. Hoping he was awake, she whispered very softly. "Saul.... Will the rest of the pack have a grudge against me?" She was almost afraid to ask him, so animated were the visions in her head of angry pack members. Her over active imagination was getting the best of her already and she had just woken up! The white wolf seemed to spill over with energy when the man next to her was near.

Though she knew she was supposed to do something to prove her worth in Ichika once more, Siku did not know she was to have a task assigned. Golden eyes stared blankly at Saul as she took his hand in hers, squeezing it tightly. She would never grow tired of his presence. Siku felt she belonged here; with him, more than anywhere else in the world. Even if she had to swim to the very bottom of a lake and then climb the tallest tree in Ichika she honestly would quite happily. Siku just wished she had never abandoned him the way she did. There was no way he was completely okay with it yet. Why would anyone else be? She asked herself this often.

His mind was groggy and clouded with sleep, confusion and a sense of loss settling over him like a blanket. His mind had not yet properly processed the fact that Siku had returned to him- in his dreams the warmth she generated by curling against him was the ghost of what it once was, a phantom dream-Siku that would vanish the moment he woke up. Despite his lack of processing the fact that she genuinely had returned, the young agouti male had managed to sleep through the night for the first time in a long while. Perhaps on a subconscious level he understood that the firm body by his side was actually real. Sunlight filtered through the newly fixed windows, splashing across the males face and causing him to stir. His body brushed against the white female and he bolted away, green eyes flashing open and immediately closing against the light. It was a rare sunny day in Ocotober, the few that remained should be treasured. Siku's head nuzzled into his chest and Saul allowed a grin to wash over his face. For the short while he had been coasting in the pre-waking dreams that were also awake, Saul hadn't quite believed it. He had his best friend back, and she appeared to have become just a little more than his best friend.

Her voice, thick was sleep, washed over him and he tried desperately to keep her attention up on his face. The self-same bodily reaction that had plagued him the day before had decided to make itself known and he wasnt accustomed to what it actually meant. Of course, he had her question to concentrate on and used it as an excuse to pull her face up to look at her directly in the eyes. "Ichika is about forgiveness- nobody should hate you Siku." He said, although he had no way of know whether or not any of his own family might hold a grudge against her for upping and leaving him. He moved then, stretching his body out and yawning deeply.

"We have things to do today. Namely your initiation task. I didnt mention it yesterday, but you have to go out to the Mai Caverns and retrieve a rock."

He said, offering a little chuckle to show that he thought it a little silly, but it was the rules. With his arm curled around the white woman he attempted to pull her on top of him for a soft kiss before they started the day.

Siku's eyes did not soften with the assurance that Ichika was about forgiveness. She understood that of course other members of the pack weren't allowed to openly convey their negative opinions, but it still worried her. She would be able to sense it if they didn't want her there anymore. If they didn't.. She wasn't sure what to do then, but leaving Saul's side again was the last thing she wanted. Taking a deep breath, Siku nodded and tried to smile at her best friend as the last part registered in her mind: Nobody 'should hate you. He had no promises, which was just as well. Siku was prepared to face them herself. Before she could say anything else, the earthen coloured man pulled her closer and spoke again.

Golden eyes studied the man as he spoke, admiring his looks and paying attention to the words he spoke at the same time. Siku wasn't sure if she could ever grow tired of looking at him, or into his emerald eyes. She realized just what he had said though, and instantly sobered at the idea of an initiation task. So there was something she had to do to prove herself. This was a fair and even lenient task to the white woman, though she made no move to support the idea of it verbally. Nodding to show him that she was indeed processing his words, Siku felt a light pang of uneasiness in her heart. If she somehow failed, then what? The former Dahlian was constantly weighing options and gaging possible outcomes. It was in her nature to preplan second options and formulate steps in her head. However, as strange as it sounded the task did not appear to be overly challenging and Siku took it in grace with a loving grin. "Whatever it takes, whatever you say!"

The snow wolf winked at Saul, playing it casual and carefree as she returned his kiss affectionately. If she pretended everything was all right and it would be easy peasy, chances were they would be. Siku hoped, anyway. "Is it dangerous?" She implored, seeking advice or at least some explanation as to how it would work out.
