The roaring of the waves was the first thing that came to her. Soon she noticed the water lapping at her tail. Slowly the femme opened her piercing green eyes and took in the beach that she lay on. Where am I? How did I get here? Savina could barely remember what all had happened to her recently. She clearly remembered wondering onto the ship, and how afraid she was when she realized that she was trapped on board. She also remembered the sounds of the horrible storm that had come on one night not too long after the ship had set sail. She somewhat remembered the ship being torn apart and being washed out to sea, but it was disjointed due to the horrible panic and the certainty of death that she was sure she faced. Now she looked out on this beautiful beach and her heart lightened a bit.

Savina attempted to rise, but fell pathetically back to the ground with a dull thud. A whine emitted from her throat. She was very weak, and felt a pain in her left hind leg. The she wolf hoped that maybe some friendly creature would come across her and help her out, and that no one of the unfriendly variety would find her. She would be easy prey if something wanted to attack her. Her intelligent eyes scanned the horizon, searching for someone, anyone.

Giuseppe had been feeling a little melancholy as of late, although -- typical for him -- he was at a loss to pinpoint exactly why. Part of it, he supposed, was Insieme; the other part, his family. Both felt like sand slipping through his fingers, and the harder he tried to hold on the faster the sand would fall. Perhaps it was just a phase, a hazy summer blues that would fade away when the season kicked in full-force.

Giu was walking the shoreline, an activity that seemed to occupy many of his free hours now-a-days. Brooding might be the term used, although his nature generally was more upbeat, especially since his reunion with Beppe and Maria. Typically, thoughts a thousand miles away, the smoke-hued luperci didn't noticed the shipwrecked wolf until he was a handful of steps away. "L'Hoy lí! Lei stanno bene?" It occurred to him that he ought to have tried to stitch an English sentence together, but of course it was unlikely he would have been able to understand the answer, anyway.

Savina was in luck. It wasn't long before she noticed the male luperci coming towards her. It seemed so weird to her to see a wolf in that form. Although she was a luperci herself, her family had gone back to living as normal wolves in the wilderness of Italy, and she rarely changed out of her wolf form. The surprises kept coming, luckily pleasant ones. Her ears perked up even more when she heard the male talk to her in Italian. How lucky could she be? The female heaved a sigh of relief as she responded. "Non credo che sia troppo cattivo, comunque il mio corpo è molto debole e ho paura la mia gamba sinistra posteriore deve essere ferito."

Once again Savina attempted to raise herself, and again the same result. Pain shot up through her left back flank and she grimaced as she sunk back down to the sand. She turned back to the smoke colored luperci and gave him a bit of a smile. "Sono così riconoscente che lei mi ha trovato non appena lei ha fatto. Non solo ciò, ma come fortunato che parliamo la stessa lingua. Sembra la mia fortuna si deve si girare. Mi chiamo Savina Marino e sono più felice di incontrarla." She dipped her head in respect. Whether or not he was the leader of this pack, these were his lands and as such she had to show him the proper conduct of an outsider. Not only that, but soon she would owe him much more for his help.

"Lei somiglia a lei ha visto i giorni migliori." In another situation, Giu's words might have been rude and demeaning, but given the lady's bedraggled state and his brightened tone of voice, the effect was intended to be harmless. Savina -- as she introduced herself -- looked exactly like a shipwrecked wolf ought, bedraggled and in pain. He hurried forward when she attempted to rise and failed. "Facile, mi ha lasciato lí l'aiuta. Non tentare di muovere di propria iniziativa."

"Sono Giuseppe, e questo luogo è chiamato Insieme. Vivo qui con mia moglie, nostro figlio, mia cognata, e pochi altri. Non la maggior parte di noi sono dall'Italia, ma tutto. Lei sarebbe benvenuto per stare con noi un mentre, almeno finché lei è più forte. " Giu's baritone voice was calm, a distraction while he assessed the situation. Two things motivated him: first, one should always help a damsel in distress and secondly, he would hope someone would look after Maria in a similar fashion, should she wind up alone and injured (again). "La sceglierò su, giusto? La porterò scalda da qualche parte ed asciuga, dove lei si può si riposare. " He stooped, but waited for her agreement before he touched her.

Going to PP you just a tad, just the fact that you're picking her up. I'll change it if you want.

Savina was greatly relieved to hear him offer his packlands for her to stay in, for a while at least. She realized how useless she was in her current condition, and that she wouldn't last long if she didn't have help. "Ciò è molto grazioso di lei. Sarei onorato per stare qui." Hearing him speak of his family made the female think of her own that she had, though inadvertently, left behind. A month or two ago it would not have been a painful memory and she would have been heartbroken to be separated from them, but now neither of those was the case.

Savina snapped back from her thoughts when Guiseppe asked her permission to pick her up and carry her somewhere a bit more fitting for an injured lupine. She swallowed her pride and nodded her head. It wasn't that she wasn't grateful for his help, she was just used to taking care of herself and didn't like to be so vulnerable, especially in front of a stranger. As she felt Guiseppe's strong arms wrap around her and lift her battered form from sand, she said with all of the appreciation and gratitude in her heart "Ringraziarla Guiseppe."
