It's Been a Long Time Coming

The trip was a fairly long one from Kingsbury to Anathema. Jazper had left early in the morning to in order to guarantee that this venture would not last longer than the day. There was still plenty of work to be done around the fort but he was positive that Anann could watch over things by herself, she was a more than able she-wolf. It would take some time for the small pack to get the fort fully back to it’s original state, saving the houses in good condition, burning the others. Winter would be upon them soon, already the male could see his breath most mornings. Soon enough they would be forced to abandon their daily work on the village and Courthouse to gather food for the winter.

Approaching the boarder of Anathema the giant looked around. He wore a backpack concealing the gift he had brought for Naniko. They had not seen each other since shortly after she had been kicked out of Crimson Dreams but the coal warrior still believed her to be a good sort of women. Perhaps she didn’t always think right but she cared about her friends and family as much as any other. Releasing a howl the new alpha called to the Anathema leader. He had intended to come to visit anyway but her unexpected visit to Casa di Cavalieri had pushed him to come as soon as possible. It was clear now that other packs were starting to notice the new boarder; he had scented various canines along the boarder this morning. It was not a surprise to see that other’s were curious but he hoped they would be left alone to their work for the most part, there was just so much to do. Already Anann and Jazper had decided it was best to visit all of the other packs with gifts of peace; it was always a good idea to start off on the right paw.

Word Count :: 000 Woooo!

Alaki had been let out of the cave finally, but she was still uncertain of how well he was mentally. His mate had left him and he was really feeling the hurt and anger, it seemed, even after the few days that Naniko had left him locked up in his room. If she'd let him out he would have certainly gone after his now ex-mate Matteo and Matteo's new love, a female from the pack, and more than likely would have killed them both. This way he'd had some time to calm down and rationalize things. She hoped that she had done him more good than harm...keeping him locked away like that. She would need to keep her eye on him for the next couple of weeks.

She hadn't heard a call but had headed out to the border nonetheless when an odd scent had drifted across it. Naniko was wary of anyone who came to her borders who smelled differently than she remembered. Barrett always smelled a certain way, one that she was now used to...and he was a loner. Other canines from various places had each brought her the scent of their pack and area. This one was a bit more unfamiliar. She could place it...but just barely. Was it that new pack's scent? "Hello?" She called as she reached the border area, standing on her tip-toes to look over the next hill as she traveled over it. "Who's out there?"

The four year old had never quite master the skill of sitting still. In fact, part of why Casa di Cavalieri existed was out of pure lack of discipline for sitting and waiting. Jazper had always had to be in control of his surroundings and every time he waited at a boarder he felt stuck in time, like nothing was moving forward. With so much to do there was no time for waiting like this but he did. His large feet dug into the earth and played with the cold grass between his toes. The ground was become more solid with the frost.

The warrior hadn’t seen Naniko in years. She had been a total mess when Savina and Anu kicked her out of Crimson Dreams. Although he cared for the white wolfess he had been busy with his own life, and she with hers. He knew that she had founded a pack to the north called Anathema but other than that he knew nothing of her life the past couple of years. Had she found a new mate, had pups? Questions rattled his brain as he waited for the wolfess to appear. Would she forgive him for not coming to see her after all this time? A guilty knot tugged at his stomach, she’d forgive him, right?

An alert voice called out from behind one of the little hills. The warrior couldn’t help himself at the sound, Naniko, It’s me. The soft Scottish accent became a little pressed in his excitement. Large tail started to wag happily behind him and his ears perked. Standing tall he stretched to look over the hill, to no prevail. Suddenly though the white wolfess came into view. Remembering his composer Jazper tugged his tail a little lower, though it continued to wiggle regardless.

I'm sorry for the long wait D: <3

She did not know what drove canines to leave their packs. Some dissatisfaction with the way that things were run, some notion that they could do a better job than their leaders? Sirius and Eris had left Anathema and gone to create their own pack, and Naniko held no grudge against them. She was proud that her adopted child had gone on to do great things; it meant that she had taught him well in the time that he had spent with her. She didn't take all the credit for it, of course, but it gave her a reason to be proud of the boy and all of his accomplishments.

The sight of Jazper surprised the Angela, but did not completely shock her. She had wondered what the old members of Crimson Dreams were doing from time to time, but had not gone to see them - she had assumed that no one had come up to see her due to her past, and did not feel any remorse for that. When one or another did come up, she was always glad to see them despite the things that had happened before. If they wanted to put things behind them, then she would as well. The only real irritation that she held any more was for the leaders there, the ones who had kicked her out. But even then, she knew that if they had not done that then she would not have Anathema today. A place where she could do whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted it. A pack where her members were loyal to her and respected her.

"Wha...I didn't know you were still around these parts" She called as she padded toward him. Naniko had not seen him in some time, and some things were certainly different about the male...but other things remained the same. His voice was what had done it to begin with, the soft accent that she could place anywhere. "What brought you all the way out here?" The fact that he didn't smell like Crimson Dreams told her one thing, but it still left plenty of mystery.
