Enzo is very very close to the borders hunting birds with his homemade slingshot, anyone else is welcome to join in.

He was still, very still as his bi colored eyes focused unwavering on the bird in front of him. Slowly his large hand drew the elastic on his sling shot back. The hunter was silent and unmoving as the bird cooed and tilted its head, pecking at the bark of the branch it was sat on. He let go and the elastic snapped back with a loud thwack and hurtled the stone he had picked up at the bird snapping its neck instantly. The bird was dead before it hit the ground. Pride glittered in his eyes and he rose swiftly and crossed the clearing to retrieve his catch. The pigeon was small but plump, fat on a diet of autumn shoots and berries ready to brave the coming winter.

The bird had been the second he had managed to catch with his newly made slingshot. The elastic had been found on his rooting through the courthouse. At first he had simply found amusement in the springy material until he had discovered that it fired rocks quite a distance and with a surprising amount of power that had set the cogs in his mind turning until he had been eventually let to tying it between a two pronged branch and creating a weapon and hunting aid from it, now he was testing its effectiveness.

The man continued his wandering along the pack borders with his sling shot and managed to kill two more birds bringing his total up to three. He tied them together by their feet and slung them over his shoulder. Green and purple surveyed the forest around him and narrowed in on another bird, bi colored gaze narrowed and he dropped down to one knee, pulling the elastic back and lining up his shot. Another thwack and the bird fell from its perch, he grinned to himself again.

Today she wanted to be different, her hair was pulled into a pony tail but that was not the different part. No this time she was going outside of her pack, the first time since Liam had taken her to Crimson Dreams in promise of flowers. First time since she was brought back home and felt like she would never leave again but something made her want to leave. After all the flowers were not in her pack either, they were wilting and dying against her will.

Sadly she was caught before she could leave the house, her mother's voice filled the silence as she placed her black cloak over her shoulders. Kissing her lightly Juliet nodded though annoyed she had to wear her cloak outside now, stupid cold. She found herself hating the cold more and more, it took her flowers away and made her wear clothes. Just a stupid season.

With a sigh she wandered around the forest and traveled further from her pack, another pack's scent hit her nose like she hit a barrier she stopped. What was this place? She had never been to this pack before, only Crimson Dreams and her home. This was somewhere new, her eyes widened as she caught site of someone with a few birds over his shoulder. Her stomach growling light but not enough for her to eat anything. She stepped lightly and moved along the border to get closer to him.

"What are you doing?" She called out in an emotionless voice, her eyes showing her curiosity. What was he doing? Was he hunting? What was htta think in his hand with the string? She found herself wanting to do what he was doing, even if he was bigger than her. Size would never phase the girl again thanks to her father's height, maybe he was as gentle as her father?

He stood and walked to retrieve his bird, as he was reaching down to grasp its neck a girl's voice cut through the air. Dusky brown ears focused on her and green and violet gaze slid onto her form. She was wrapped up in a cloak, to guard herself the the rapidly cooling weather he assumed. Enzo stood slowly his gaze sweeping around in search of anyone else in the area but it appeared to be just her. The bird dangled limply from his paw as his face split into a welcoming and somewhat friendly grin, he waved at her with a light colored paw.

"Hello there, I'm hunting birds with my slingshot." He held up the makeshift weapon of wood and elastic to show what he meant. Enzo took a few steps towards her before hesitating, his ears pulling back slightly, he didn't want to scare her with his size. She was so small and pretty, so extraordinarily beautiful. The crimson of her red hair and markings stood out vibrantly from her creamy white pelt. Her eyes were striking unlike his own rather plain colors, she was like a diamond shining brightly amongst an assortment of duller less valuable jewels.

"I'm Lorenzo. Lorenzo Knight. What's your name?" Then her eyes smiled at him even though her face didn't move and he was gone. Falling down into them, lost within her gaze. And with that Lorenzo would be forever bound to her, whoever she was, like an enchantress casting a spell over him. His entire body relaxed into a state that he seldom felt, and contentment settled over him. He could die at this moment right now and be happy having met her or so he felt. Nothing else mattered, not his mother or his siblings or his father's pack or hunting for the winter.

She watched curiously as he picked up yet another dead creature, how did they die? She just watched him looking at him trying to memorize his face, his smell, and if he told her; his name. She was always one for detail, she wanted to remember everyone she met, she hated forgetting a face that knew hers. He turned to her and she looked at his eyes, fascinated by their two colors. How was that possible? Another face flashed into her mind though she could not remember the woman with two colored eyes like the boy before her.

Her head tilted lightly as he talked about killing birds with his slingshot, what a funny name for a simple tool. His ears fell to his skull and she again tilted her head in confusion, why was he uncomfortable? She stepped forward a few steps to close the gap, looking up at him so she could talk to him and hear him better. He looked as tall as her father so it really did not phase her by his tall body. "How do you kill a bird with wood and string? Can I learn?" She asked before focusing her eyes on the slingshot, her hand stretching out and touching the object without asking. How did this kill a flying creature?

She then withdrew her hand, moving it along the soft cloak that her mother made her wear. It made her feel overly hot and just too bulky if she was going to learn how kill a bird. Slowly she slid it off her shoulders but did not take it off, after all he had not said yes yet and she did not want to put it back on after taking it off. Her indigo eyes moved up to see his, listening to his name. Lorenzo Knight. She then noted his name with his face. Her eyes almost smiling at him as he spoke his name. Lorenzo, your tall. It almost hurts my neck to look at you." She stated again emotionless as she stated the obvious. "Juliet, Juliet Moonsong. My pack is Cercatori D'Arte, what is this pack's name?"She asked trying to figure out the pack scent, she really did not recognize this pack's scent.

She still was stricken with confusion as the male seemed almost relaxed around her, almost like she was around everyone really. She was not use to others having the same reaction.

The boy swallowed heavily as she stepped closer, his tail wagging tentatively behind his large body. He tried to speak but his voice came out as a high pitched squeak. Lorenzo cleared his throat with an embarrassed cough and tried again, his familiar accent falling back into place again, thicker than ever as he tried to speak to her and not sound stupid,

"Aye. What ur're do is take ah stone like thees." He leaned down and picked up a decent sized stone from the ground, his hands fumbling with his nervousness. Oh she must think he was a massive idiot at this point. He stuttered as she reached out and touched his weapon and in the process his hand, the poor boy wished he could just run away and hide at this moment in time or be swallowed up by the ground. Everything about him now was emitting his nervous and shy personality, no trace of the joker left within him,

"ahhn then ur put it into here like thees." He positioned the stone in the elastic and held it in place with a large finger. "Theen you pull it back like theese and then let eet go." He drew back the elastic as far as it would go and then let it loose. The stone flew away into the wilderness, carving a hole through leaves and breaking fragile stems until it finally ricocheted off a tree into the shadows. "ahnn that ees how yah kill beerds with eet. Yah aim at theem and then leet go." He stammered an apology at her words and immediately came down to his knees, although he still towered over her she wouldn't have to crane her neck as high to look at his face. The action though brought thier faces closer together and the male's breath shook as he breathed in her scent, it was lovely and sweet like fresh summer rain.

Juliet! Of course her name was Juliet, no other name would suffice or describe her beauty in one word. The man formed her name with his mouth although didn't speak it, almost afraid to do that would be to make her disappear. "Ahh, this ees Casa di Cavalieri. My fathurr ees Alpha here, we're ah new pack." A cooing caught his attention as another pigeon settled down in a place it shouldn't have. He held out the slingshot and another stone to her,

"Do yahh want a goo?"

She watch the man with curiosity as his voice came out as a high pitched squeak, unsure of what it meant. What was wrong with him, why could he not speak? Her questions vanished as he then began to show her how to use his slingshot, using a stone and pulling the string back until it stretch to where she thought it would break. As he let it go the stone flew and her eyes watched it until it disappeared out of her sight. Her ears moved as she listened to the sound clicking against a few close tree then scaring a few birds from their spot on the ground.

When she looked back at her companion he was on his knees stammering an im sorry and her head tilted to the side slightly. Why did he come to his knees? Just because he was tall did not mean he had to be down on his knees getting his fur all dirty because she commented on his height. Still she could not get closer to him and talk to him with ease so she was happy either way, this way she could see his eyes better. Though he was still tall she looked into his eyes fascinated by the two contrasting colors, violet and green. Nice colors, colors she wish she could paint with. "You eyes are pretty.." She stated as she let her cloak fall to her feet, letting the small patches of sun hit her cream fur.

She did not think it was very cold, not cold enough to wear such a bulky thing like her cloak but mother said so. For a second she took a deep breathe taking in the details of the pack and the male before her, she liked remembering details so she wanted to take in everything she could. The smell of these lands, the smell of a new friend. He smelled like fresh pine wood to her, and the pack something rather unique she could not put a finger on the smell. Shrugging she looked back at Lorenzo and watch his face for any tattle telling sighs of his emotion. He seemed nervous though she did not understand why.

After hearing the packs name she watched as another winged creature landed and he asked her if she wanted to try to kill it. Slowly she move her fingers around his hand grabbing the slingshot gently from his grip and tried to do as he did. She took the stone and placed it on the string at let it go but it flew to the ground at her feet. Juliet's ears flattened against her red hair as she looked at the contraption in confusion. "I can't do it.. It does not like me.." She stated looked at the timber colored boy, her eyes showing frustration. What was wrong with this thing?

Underneath his coat of fur the man blushed at her compliment of his eyes, the boy didn't really have an opinion of them, they were his eyes and they had always been that color, always been his calling card really, purple and emerald. He didn't really think they were anything special unlike her own amazing orbs,

"Ahh thank yee. Yer a pretty lass yerself." The man averted his eyes shyly as the woman slid her coat off of her slender shoulders, not wanting to be caught ogling her body. As she reached for the slingshot their hands touched and the boy man had to restrain himself from jumping or gasping. It was like electricity had shot down his spine, making the fur along it prickle and tingle. He frowned slightly as she pulled the elastic incorrectly and the stone dropped straight down. She looked at him unhappily and he found himself unreasonably angry at the slingshot for making her look that way.

The dusky boy shifted his position so that he was knelt behind her, moving slowly so that he did not startle her,

"I can show yer how to do eet." He leaned over her shoulder and moved his hands so that they guided her own. Slowly showing her how to draw the elastic back properly,

"Like thees, see? Ya pool eet back and then yar let eet go." With him showing her the way, the stone flew off into the distance and amazingly even though he hadn't been aiming for the bird struck the creature on the neck, a small crack and it was dead on the floor. He grinned down at Juliet,

"Eeer see, ya can do eet. But eet takes practees for yer aim to strike true every time. sometimes I miees as well." He shrugged in a matter of fact way

She could feel her body heat shooting to her cheeks as he complemented her apearence, was she really pretty like this tall boy said? Her mind did not know how to handle a complement from someone that wasn't her family. Sure her mother said it, even her father said it but no one outside of their little family had told her that. She tried to analyze why he would say that, surly she was not a pretty as her sister and so she never truly believed she was pretty but-

Her train of thought moved back to the string and wood that was still in her hand. Her feelings of frustration flooded back to her mind as she stared at the stone that was suppose to fly and hit the mocking pigeon that pecked at the ground softly. Stupid tool, it did not like her. Again she looked back at her companion noticing his expression seemed to match her frustration. What was he so frustrated about, she was the one his contraption did not like. It worked for him perfectly.

She watched as he moved behind her, still on his knees due to her early requ- well statement. Her arms went limp as if on command as he guided her arms and hands on how the slingshot should work. She felt the elastic stretch and the way he moved her finger on the tool, so thats how it was to work. He helped her pull back the tool from her fingers with the new stone and let it got in the bird's general direction.

The bird keeled over from the impact as her tial began to wag again her companion as he was behind her. Quickly she picked up a new stone and did the same action with the slingshot, like a little girl who just figured out how to skip rocks on the water's surface. The stone flung away from her and the a tree, shooting into the darkness to startle more flying creatures to them.

"It worked.." She stated as her tail wagged a little more, excitement began to well in her body as she turned and hugged her towering friend very lightly. "Thank you Lorenzo, you made it work." Her emotions still not showing through her words or on her face but through her actions, though quickly she moved away from him picking up another stone as another bird landed near them. Her tail still wagging to show her happiness.

While he was trying to gentleman when in the proximity of this lady he was still a male and a young one at that so he couldn't stop the rampant thoughts that ran riot around his mind. Disturbing images and highly inappropriate thoughts abounded and while he managed to keep 'that' from making an appearance it was a struggle against basic nature that he was eventually going to lose although hopefully he would lose it after she had departed his company. Her happiness at her kill almost managed to distract him until her tail began to wag right against his groin, oh good lord she was going to kill him via high blood pressure he was sure of it.

The boy's eyes bugged out and he let go of her arms so that he didn't dig his nails into her soft fur. His mind chose that moment to notice just how soft it was and how nice it felt, so nice... Before he could escape the closeness however she turned around and hugged him with what he was quickly realising was a large show of emotion for her. He got the sense that she didn't hug other people much. A quick surge of possessive feelings welled up, he wanted to be the only one that she hugged when she did hug. It made it all the more special. The strange feelings were enough to shove his 'problem' straight away from the front of his mind and let him relax again.

A soft flapping and a second bird came down to investigate the body of its fallen comrade. He shook his head, birds were so stupid. Juliet moved away from him as she scooped up another stone from the floor. He stayed still so he didn't distract her or scare away her quarry.

The girl had no idea what she was doing to her male companion, she did not understand how the young male mind worked. Hell she still did not understand some of the feeling she felt right now, so how could she know she was just making this rather difficult for the male behind her. If she knew she still would know know how to stop her actions, She was truly naive for her age.

When she moved from him, taking her arms away from his dusty brown fur. She felt a strange feeling that she never felt before but she was not worried about it so she simply shrugged it off. Right now she was really focused on the stupid winged creatures before her, they really were stupid. The one the contraption hit laid dead near a small twig, and to her surprise another one came down from the sky and was inspecting what happened to his friend. Why would they carelessly land in harms way?

She did not understand it, what was with these stupid creatures? Whatever it was she was happy to shoot Lorenzo's tool to hit another one. Slowly she pulled the sting back, stone in the cradle of her singers and the elastic. She aimed for the living bird and let the string go, watching closely it flew from her fingers. Stamping lightly out of frustration she watched as the stone flew past the bird, grazing his wing. This of coarse scared the thing into flying away. "Darn, I am not as good as you." She stated emotionlessly, turning to face her friend. Just looking at him seemed to make her tail sway lightly, was it because he was her new friend or was it something else. She did not let it bother her as she thought of home. "Maybe I should go home, my mom worries a lot." She stated again though she really did not want to go home, she just needed to let her mother know she was okay.

She shot again and missed as was almost certain, beginner's luck only stretched so far after all. Enzo himself had been practicing for two months straight before he managed to hit anything worthy. Juliet had done better than himself in that respect. His gaze was sympathetic for her anger but overall she had been a good student for his teaching, even if a little shaky teaching. A wave of heat traveled up his chest to his cheeks thankfully hid by dusty brown fur. His smile reached all the way to his eyes as he looked down at her warmly, she was something else, something special he could tell. The words he had spoken to his father about not needing anyone especially not a girl came floating back through his mind and he felt a small sting of embarrassment. Jazper would tease him for this if he chose to reveal his intoxication with the girl to his black furred father.

He had never felt this way about a girl before, a female. The most he had felt was that of brotherly affection to his sister. A children's love for his mother and inspired awe of his aunt Savino and the other members of Crimson Dreams. But the boy was too stupid, too inexperienced to recognise it as the seeds of the tree that could become romance and love. For now Juliet was like an aged teddy bear or a trinket found whilst hunting, special in every way for reasons that were unknown.

"Ahh youh'll geet it eventuahly. Eet took meh a loong time afore ah coold heet anythink." It was something for her to feel good about herself for, she had beaten him. The bird that had kept its life by inches fluttered off into the maze of trees and the Knight male watched it go without envy or anger, today was simply not the day it was meant to die. Enzo believed that all creatures had a time when they were alloted to die and that it could not be avoided. There must be some greater reason why some were called into death before others. He was not all curiosity for it though as some might have been, he was content to accept what was and not linger on it.

His bubble of growing happiness though was popped and the feeling of contentment left him when she mentioned the fact that her mother might be worrying after her by now and that she should go check in to make sure things were fine. He could not begrudge her wanting to let her family know she was safe. Despite his own age Jazper still liked to know what his son was off doing at what times. Although he wasn't strict about it, Enzo could come and go as he pleased but he found it often didn't take long to find his dark father and mention where he was going if the journey would take exceptionally long, within the pack's boundaries he could be easily called to his father's side, outside of them it became more difficult. The male quickly retrieved the fallen animal she had caught for her,

"Please, ahllow meh to escort you to yur home. Ah ladee should not beh wahndering aroond on her own." He grinned with a charming smile and held out an arm for her to take, the dead bird gripped in his other hand. The cloak she had taken off lay behind the pair, completely forgotten.

Her eyes looked at the corpse of the winged creature, what stupid creatures’ pigeons were. Why did they act so dumb when one killed a companion, weren’t they suppose to fly away and stay away to make sure that their life was preserved. God they were stupid, even though she missed one and it flew away another settled down to examine its partner. If she did not have to go home she would have used the contraption to try and attempt another kill. What a stupid creature, though this thought reminded her of her words about the ferret when it was very small. She thought it should not live but she turned out to be very smart and useful to her father.

Her eyes returned to her new friend, smiling with happiness and yet sad that she needed to go home. If her mother was not such a worry wart she would have stayed almost all night but after the way she acted around Titania leaving she did not want her to act all weird. She listened to his words and how he talked about how long it took to master such a strange contraption. Her head tilted in curiosity as she looked back at the thing in her hand, how long did it really take to make this thing work right? ”So it takes time for it to work right? Like when I play the flute, its kind of hard to make the right sounds.” She stated mentioning her playing of the flute from looking back at him.

Juliet watched as her tall companion when and grabbed her freshly killed bird, feathers and all. Would it even taste good? She could not help but look at his body but only to marvel in his height, he was close to her father’s height and it just seemed to make her neck hurt at the craning it had to do to see his rather pretty eyes. She really did like their colors and she just felt the urge to paint them again as he spoke once more.

He smiled at her, a sign of happiness. Her ears perked up lightly as her tail gave a very soft sway, he wanted to walk her home though his comment confused her. She walked here by herself, what was wrong with that? She wandered a lot on her own and never got into any trouble, well other than getting lost a few times and having to find someone to help her home. She really hated traveling at night, it was too dark to see. Quickly her fingers moved to his arm, though it was almost too high for her to grab at her current height. Her fingers wandered lightly curling around his muscles before having her arm link with his. This was a strange way to lead or follow but whatever. ”Okay, Lets go.” She stated starting to almost lead him back to her home, her mind far away from the cloak that laid on the ground back in his pack lands.
