The noon time sun would have been stronger and far more bright had it been the middle of summer, but now that the autumn truly had its grasp upon the lands the sun did not seem to be warming the lands properly. There was a definite chill in the air, the breeze that was blowing across the lands was a distinctly cold one, it seemed that the weather was almost preparing the lands inhabitants for the chill that would come with winter; the coldest month was only around the corner now, soon enough there would be a thick blanket of snow upon the ground and everything would be still and silent, the lands almost lying dormant until the first signs of spring and then there would be a sudden vibrant burst of life once more. But for now the lands seemed to be dying off, of course that was just nature's way of preparing the lands for the winter, the leaves had almost all fallen from the trees now, making large piles against the large manor house, they were a rather interesting decoration if the truth were told, some had died away to a faded brown but the leaves that had been mroe stubborn, more reluctant to fall still retained their bright colourings, the vibrant reds and golds, it was a sight that was rather pleasing to the eye. The lands were beginning to quieten down once again as winter rapidly approached, most of the birds had already taken of for warmer climates in the south, one could not blame them, it gave them a good chance of survival. And now that a great deal of the land's bushes and plants had been picked clean of the fruits, nuts and berries that had been adorning them, the small animals that had worked so hard to harvest all of this plant life seemed to be falling dormant as well, perhaps settling down to sleep through the winter as some often did, for it was safe now that they had gathered and stored all of the food that they could. There were a few small animals pottering here and there though, hunting for the last few remaining morsels so that they could be stored and hidden away as well, perhaps that one last nut might be the difference between starvation and survival over the winter months after all.

Today the sable female was sat on the steps of the porch, she was rather bored if the truth was being told, she was simply staring into space, her silver eyes not really focusing on anything in particular. Her youngest sister had gone out on a small expedition of her own today, travelling to Cottontail Valley to gather some more sticks for fire wood, it seemed that the pair's activities had had an effect on the young girl and she was trying to be as helpful to the pack as she possibly could be. It was a daring move for Kiwi, going out alone, the girl was horrendously shy and would hide away from strangers, butt hen again Rain supposed that she would just hide from those she did not know, she was not likely to meet anyone that she would need protecting from after all, the pack wolves were all kind souls. For once Rain was not worrying about her younger sister, she was very protective towards the youngest of the litter and that was only exacerbated by her sister's tiny frame and reclusive nature, but she had chosen to go out alone and the grey eyed Aatte saw this as progress almost, she was not going to question what she saw as a good thing. The dark female was simply sat on the steps of the porch, humming a soft tune to herself absentmindedly as she fiddled with the stud in her upper lip. And that was where she was planning on staying for the time being.

sorry for the wait, work has been a bear this week :c

Brown fingers carefully brushed away the dry and brittle leaves to reveal the mosaic decorated pot that Cypress had hidden away. He had found it a few day ago in the village and squirreled it away until he had the time to come and retrieve it. The flower pot was to be a gift for his mother and he had spent countless days looking for such replacement for the one he had broken several moons ago. Still he wanted to get it to the manor without her seeing it so that he could present his gift when the moment seemed right. Wrapping it in a skin he slipped it into the bag he had acquired while in Halifax with Silvano and started the trip back to the manor.

The straps of the bag that created its handles were held with a firm grip as he made his way back around Rabbit Lake; careful not to let it swing into anything that might crack the pottery within. He was getting better with his optime form, though he himself hardly realized it. The more time he spent in in the unfamiliar form the better his coordination was becoming. He was still diligent in watching where he placed his next step but it seemed that the earth no longer jumped up to trip him nearly as frequently as it once had. Still he hoped few would be around by the time he had reached the manor and he would be able to quickly slip up to his room to hide away the treasure once again. Then he could return to the four legs he much preferred.

Cypress' steps slowed for a moment ashes drew closer to the manor and spotted someone setting out on the porch. The figure was far to dark to be his mother and while that was of some relief. Had he been in his lupus form it would not have bothered him at all, but in his optime form he was always a little less sure of himself and he felt awkward knowing he would have to walk right past the other to make it up to his room.

Blue eyes still watched the ground in front of him though he had glanced once or twice at the ebon figure on the porch; one of the Aattes, though he didn't know the her personally. He gaze was ever downward as he climbed the steps. He gave a soft smile in greeting, though said nothing as he made his way through the door. However, there was a sudden sparkle as something caught the sun's light and it forced the young man to take a quick double take of the other with a odd look on his face.
