Conri had been planning it out for quite some time, secretly setting things into motion. He'd gathered everything that he needed months before, stashing it away in a small barn just off the edges of their lands. It was during the middle of the night that he slipped away, hauling everything back to the Manor and hiding it in the basement. He had worked for some time, talking to each member and letting him know his plans. Even the pups had helped him out and had been quiet enough to keep it all a secret. It was almost time and Conri could feel the excitement in the air, especially when he entered the main room of the house.

What was usually drab and normal was now colorful. Bits and pieces of paper, painted in all shades of colors, hung from the ceiling and whatever else Conri could find to hang it from. White sheets that had been once used to cover mattresses were now draped over tables and chairs and couches, covered in a rainbow of puppy paw prints. A banner, somewhat haphazardly painted, hung on the very back wall. Happy Birthday Nani. With a large pink heart at the very end of the message.

"Okay everyone!" Conri said then, turning face all who had gathered. "I'm going to go out and find her now. When I bring her in the door, jump out and yell Happy Birthday!" He paused a moment, waiting to make sure that everyone had heard him before turning away, making his way out the door to go and find Naniko.

Conri had told them that they where to jump out and yell happy birthday to her, Any thing for Naniko, if it would make her happy he would do it. Blood sweat and tears for her. Heck what was friends for, after all. The black male gave a nod, as he quickly went off to find a place to hide once Conri had said where he was going to go her and bring her to the room. Lucifer had feelings for her, he wasn't sure about how she felt about him, but if any one would hurt her. The male would not blink for one second, before he went after them. He might not have the physical strength to fight to there death, but for her damn he would try.

He had the best gift for her...He had made it him-self, pricked his digits countless of time while putting it all together, the male had hunted or a while skinning only the softest of furs off the animals, saving there furs the male had made her a nice soft blanket to lay down in her and Conri's den. They would sleep well all year long with the warm blanket to line there den in Summer month and in the winter months they could lay under it. The male folded it, as neatly as the slob could and placed it on a table. The male was ready, any thing to see her white face with a smile upon it.

Finally, everything was ready. Kansas stood in the room among his packmates, a bit off to the side since he didn't know many of them. He was so excited to see Naniko's face when she walked into the room and it registered what they were all doing there. The room was lavishly decorated; Kansas was so happy with Conri for coming up with this idea. He wanted to see Naniko smile without worry behind her eyes. He was antsy, drumming his fingers against his thigh as Conri left to look for his mate.

Kansas loved her. He still didn't know how he loved her - as a sister, a friend, or... something else. The last was wrong on so many levels; he didn't know for sure because he wasn't sure he wanted to know. Today was for her, not for him. He needed to think about how grateful he was that she'd been born instead of thinking of himself as he did most of the time. Her gift was tucked into his bag, safe inside a book. It was a bookmark of pressed summer flowers protected by stiff, sticky translucent paper he'd found while rummaging through the house one day. He couldn't wait to see if she liked it.

((Since it's backdated, Deuce is still a member! lol))

Deuce kept one eye on the pups, one eye on the door. She was aware of Lucifer there, but ignored him. If there was going to be bickering, it wouldn't be her who started it. She wouldn't want someone spoiling her birthday, she wasn't going to spoil Naniko's. She had a great gift for Naniko. It was identical to a book she already owned, and was a comprehensive listing of different plants, herbs, and flowers, all with pictures and despription of preperation and uses. It ad been handy for her over the last few years, she was sure it would be useful for Naniko too. She was glad the shop they'd found had had a copy.

Her tail wagged loosely as she stood, waiting for Naniko to come in with her mate.

The young male stood alone between his white mother and dark father. He could have easily passed as thier biological child. He had Lucifer's love of hunting, and color along with Duece's slim body type and need of knowledge. His dad was teaching him to hunt while his mum taught him to read. Amber eyes looked from female to male as questions came to him once more, 'Why don't they talk? Are they still in love? What is realy going on!?' He simply sat there, a teenager torn between his mother and father.

On the brighter side they were about to celebrate Naniko's birthday! A smile apeared on his muzzle almost instantly as Conri left the room to get his mate. He looked aroudn the room where should he hide? He walked over Lucifer and nudged him wispering, "Where do you recimend I hide dad?" He loved getting his parents opinions!

I never did get the okay from Amber to come in. But I'm assuming I should now Big Grin

The day had been fairly uneventful for the female. She did what she usually did...woke up, checked on everyone in the house, went down to the garden, then to the lake to fish. Naniko found fishing to be a very calming sport...she could see why humans had loved it so much. Some humans, anyway. The girl was finding herself digging up their culture more and more as she devoured book after book of theirs. She had explored enough to know that there was a very large library in Halifax, and was now taking full advantage of it.

She had been reading next to the lake when Conri found her, in fact, telling her that she needed to get back to the house. He told her that he couldn't tell her why, so she assumed that it was some sort of a medical need--maybe one of the kids had fallen. Conri wouldn't know how to describe it, maybe? Or maybe one of the kids had done something really bad, or ruined something in the house...and he just didn't want to tell her, and wanted her to see it for herself. She bit her lip as she followed him up the stairs, imagining what she would find in the rooms beyond.

What she did see definitely surprised her. "I don't...what??"
