WC: 813 For Edgar! Moaning Woods. :3 Is it OK to have this set just after Chimera disbands, when Physe is running Aremys? It's LASKY, let's just make it work ;D

He was glad for the few members that had remained with him through the merge. The male had never felt weak in Chimera until the D'Angelos and de le Poer families had left, save little Naniko. Only then had he felt the pack begin to falter. They'd had only a few adults left and one or two pups...not enough to fill up the territory that they had laid claim to previously. Physe'd had no other option than to bring the subject of a merge up with Phasma and ask whether the two packs could form together into one slightly larger family. So far, things were working out well. The canines all seemed to be adjusting well to the move...though little Naniko had disappeared a few nights before they had left. Physe had taken the time to look for the girl, had howled to call her to him multiple times...but he now assumed that she had left after her parents, to seek them out and join with them wherever they had gone off to. He hoped she was alright out there.

The alpha had been tracking a herd of deer across the territory and was taking a much-needed break as he followed their movements across the plain. He'd left Aremys and was headed toward the moaning wood, which was the area where Chimera had rested a week prior. Already, the scents were beginning to fade from the lands. His heart ached slightly as the trees came into view, their long dead branches crisscrossing in the sky above him as he padded along after the scent of the herd. They creaked and rubbed against one another, creating the familiar sound that he had longed to hear all throughout the week. He loved the pack and cared for it greatly, but that did not mean that he didn't miss the old territory that he'd called home for the last year or so. It was the first pack to have ever accepted him. He did not know why they had all chosen to leave...but wished them well nonetheless. He was moving on to bigger and better things.

Physe glanced upward at the sky as he walked, his two feet crunching up leaves that lay on the path he was traveling. It was a relatively warm day, the afternoon beginning to fade into evening as he stalked the creatures across familiar lands. He had hoped to catch up to them with enough time for a hunt...but it seemed that he might be out of luck. Just as he was about to give up, however, his emerald eyes caught sight of movement up ahead. Aha! He did have some luck left! The cinnamon male tried to crouch, watching the forest in front of him with an intent gaze. There they were, the entire herd. They stretched across a small clearing before him, dipping their heads down elegantly to nibble at the tall grasses that surrounded them. He sat in wait for a few moments, simply watching them and trying to locate a good enough target.

Any motion would be detected by the herd immediately...especially by one such as him. He did not know what colors deer were able to see, but his pelt was definitely not the same shade as the surroundings that he was trying to hide within. He kept as still as he could as he examined them one by one, trying to pick the weakest among them. Once he spotted the elder of the herd he maneuvered his way around the herd to get better access. It was a quick attack, his legs propelling him forward with one giant burst of energy. The male had his teeth in the deer before it even realized that there was a wolf nearby, his weight dragging it down with his fingers gripped tightly around the animal's neck. It struggled for a few moments as the others ran away from their elder, abandoning it to the predator. In a few minutes it all was over. The deer had stopped struggling. He released it, reaching for his fire-starting materials and preparing the area for a bonfire.

He gave a small smile of thanks to the heavens for the fortunate weather and for the feast that he was about to partake on, humming to himself as he gathered up tinder to start aflame. He had one going without much trouble, and he began to slice pieces of the meat off to roast over the fire. Once those were going, the orange tinged wolf reached for the pack that he always carried over his back. He had a few bottles of wine left and had been hoping for some meat to enjoy them with. Physe's tail wagged back and forth at the sight of the roasting meat, his stomach growling in anticipation. This would be a great night...even if he did spend it alone.
