It had been a while since the red female had stopped by the city. Terra sincerely hoped that those caught in her traps were recent, or they might have starved to death by now. Unless they managed to escape, of course. Utilizing what Drakien had taught her many of her traps now had a way to escape built in. All the captive had to do was solve the puzzle Terra presented for them. Tail held high she reached her first trap. Snarls of anger reached her, and cautiously Terra looked in. It appeared that her spider web trap had worked a little too well, a very angry bobcat caught inside.

Swiftly she pulled on the rope that released the trap, and stood clear as it went streaking away, spitting mad. Terra was very lucky it hadn't spotted her, or she'd be dead. The next trap was more lucky, with a dead rabbit inside. Cheerfully she finished it off, enjoying the unexpected treat before reaching her next trap. It was fairly complicated. When tripped a barricade would fall. Several ropes were available, pulling the right one would hoist the barricade away. The wrong ones would either dump debris, collapse the wall on top of the unfortunate victim, or do absolutely nothing at all. There was a solution carved into the wall, showing which rope to pull. One just had to be smart enough to look for it.

More angry growls met Terra as she reached this one. Looking in Terra burst into laughter. What had once been a creamy wolf of some sort was now covered in garbage, and looking very frustrated. By the looks of it he'd been stuck there for a couple days. Hearing her he glanced up. Hey! What are you laughing at? His sharp words just made her laugh harder. Can't find the way out, mister? Terra's words were teasing, pushing his buttons. The wolf replied with a growl. You make this cursed contraption? Let me out! Tail wagging Terra shook her head. I'm sure you can get out on your own. You got in, after all. More curses streamed up to where the coyote sat, Terra watching with laughter in her eyes.

Hello there Smile

She found herself in Halifax frequently after her last encounter with Itzal. Whether her being here was a way to secretly look for him, or she just hoped that she would see him here out of pure ‘coincidence’ she wasn’t quite sure. She missed him. He put some kind of spell on her, and she developed a crush for the troubled wolf. At first, she didn’t trust him and was actually more afraid of him than anything, but after a few times from seeing him, she got braver and even threw an arrow at his head once, purely pissing him off. She lived, and she grew to liking him a bit more than a friend. Now if only she could just find him…

A familiar scent caught her nostrils as she walked along the cracked concrete streets of Halifax. She was pretty used to the scenery around here, and the hardness of the concrete didn’t exactly bother her as much as it used to. Right, back to the scent: it was of someone she knew she met before, but she couldn’t exactly put an exact name to it. Determination finally settling over her, she found herself looking for the scent’s owner. Her nose was going a mile a minute as she weaved through the human-made streets of the city. With each ‘block’, the scent became stronger. Finally, she heard voices and turned.

There was a man in a trap, seemingly stuck, and a red furred woman standing over him looking rather amused. When she turned to step away from the man and watch his escape, Axelle noticed very familiar features. Small frame, familiar face… ”Terra…” she mumbled to herself, inaudible to the others. She crossed the human street, and approached the two. ”So we meet again.” Her eyes meeting Terra’s, not even giving the other a glance as she hadn’t a clue who the trapped one was, and not giving him much thought.

Axelle had her usual equipment on: the belt around her waist which housed her sword, the anklet on her ankle which carried the little hunting knife she carried around, but she didn’t carry her purse today, a purple satchel bag that carried many things she found in the city. Maybe this was because she came today with the empty excuse of finding someone.

As if she'd heard the whisper of her name Terra's head turned. Bright eyes focused on the presence she'd picked up on. There was no mistaking that mismatched fur. Grinning Terra waved her hand. Hey! Care to watch the show with me? Immediately the wolf spluttered into protests that he wasn't a show, it was a very serious situation, and other stuff along that lines. Terra simply looked down, even more amused by the outburst he created.

Absentmindedly Terra tugged on her hair gently detangling it. It seemed the wolf wasn't having any luck figuring out what he had to do. Well, he had been there for a couple days. Maybe if Terra fed him he would be able to think better, find the way out. What brings you here Axelle? Surely it can't be because you sensed my sunny disposition. The male had found a larger piece of debris in the alley, and chucked it up at the pair, swearing angrily. Breezily Terra dodged it, chortling slightly.

Now that Terra had pointed it out, she looked down at the trapped male. ”What is it that you’re exactly doing?” Axelle didn’t disapprove; she had her own fun, sometimes like this, or maybe was that a dream? Either way, she never judged. The trapped man was looking rather pathetic complaining and bitching about being trapped. He was trapped, there was no way he was going to get free unless he used his head and got out of there on his own. She was certainly not going to help this pitiful excuse for a wolf.

Axelle’s eyes never left the brute as she continued to answer to Terra’s statements. ”Ah, no. It wasn’t your sunny disposition this time… I was, uhh, looking for something.” She didn’t care to elaborate as it was a straight bullshit lie and she really didn’t know what she was doing here at all. Sometimes her mind got the best of her and brought her to places, and most of the time she found herself stalking Itzal’s whereabouts, with no luck of course.

Her thoughts were interrupted by a flying piece of large, hunky debris that barely missed her. An audible snarl erupted from her throat and she rounded on the trapped piece of garbage in his cage, ”Hey! I did NOTHING to you! Keep throwing shit at me and you’ll be in a worse predicament than you are now!” She was capable of some things. Maybe she wasn’t as fearsome as others, but there was always ways of upping her status as a cold hearted bitch. ”Stop feeling sorry for yourself and get your ass out of there ‘cause no one's gonna help you.” Not after the large piece of concrete almost came in contact with her, and actually not ever. She liked to test the strengths of others, and liked even more to watch them get out of the predicaments they were in. This could be a good show after all. She turned back to Terra after calming down some, ”Where’d you find this sorry piece of life anyway?” She was referring to the male.

Terra shrugged her shoulders when asked what she was doing. Seeing how smart this fellow really is. Laughing at how ridiculous he's acting. The obvious lie brought Terra's full attention onto Axelle for a moment, green eyes studying the divided female. Terra came to the city for her traps, not feeling a desire for the various items that littered the city. Everything that she really needed could be found in the territory. There was no reason for her to travel for it. Others did come to the city for items though, usually fitting into the majority, or coming out of curiosity. There was no reason to lie about curiosity drawing her, so it had to be something more unusual that drew her.

The wolf's reaction to the thrown debris was enough to detract Terra's train of thought. It didn't matter anyways, with Terra yapping with laughter from the response. The wolf stalked around below, muttering to himself. Terra leaned forward slightly, balanced so that she had the chance of falling in. We can't hear you up here! Immediately he looked up, cursing at her. Her ears twitched as Axelle's question reached her. He fell into my trap. Got lots of them set up. Don't always catch canines though. The occasional cat and rats are more common. It was disappointing, but Terra couldn't expect the traps to work every time.

Axelle returned her gaze to watch the other below in his trap, her expression turning from normal to disgusted in the matter of a few seconds. ”Ridiculous indeed,” she muttered, more to herself than anyone else. The brute roamed around in the bottom of his trap, complaining and not doing anything to help himself in his predicament. Obviously if someone were to play a trick on him, he wouldn’t be a good sport.

The trapped brute’s activities kept Axelle’s gaze on him, but her attention was caught by Terra. ”He seems to be the equivalent of a rat… Cats are smarter.” She made sure it was said loud enough for the trapped one to hear. ”I guess I’ll have to watch out for your traps then.” She never encountered one, and couldn’t imagine ever falling into a hole, but it was possible. Now she would know not to ever lose her mind in any of the cities around, and go walking around aimlessly. She might be subjected to falling into one of Terra’s traps and be stuck in there like this male. Or not. She was way too crafty to be trapped like some mindless domestic animal. She was not domestic. Even Frex would be able to get out of this one… She thought to herself as she eyed a possible escape route.

”This is what you keep yourself busy with?” If it was something that Terra enjoyed, so be it. Who was she to judge? Axelle had her own hobbies that others would disapprove of, like her drug and alcohol habits- thinking of which, I haven’t done in a while..- and rum making. ”Have you touched up on your sword fighting skills since our duel?” It was just a question lingering in the back of Axelle’s mind. Maybe they could have another duel soon.

Axelle's opinion brought a shrug from Terra. Cats might be fairly bright, but rats were clever as well. She had seen a few weasel their way out of things, giving her no preference for what she caught. As long as she was able to learn and improve her skills and entertain herself that was what mattered. Terra noded her head briefly, lost in her own thoughts. The fact that Axelle might get caught in one of her multitude of traps hadn't occurred to her, and even if it had Terra wouldn't have stopped, waiting to see if Axelle would be able to escape a trap if she fell in.

Terra's eyes fell sharply onto Axelle. This isn't just to keep me busy. It's training. It helped her improve her stealth, develop new tricks, find ways of escape she wouldn't have considered before, design new things. It was all a contest of wits, with Terra continually improving to defeat and improve herself. It wasn't the only way she did this, stealing and trespassing among the others, as well as mercilessly teasing whatever caught her attention for the chance to test and see if she'd improved. Axelle's question had Terra tipping back slightly, dangling a particularly dirty rope towards the prisoner.

Have you tried this one? Suspiciously the wolf eyed her before grasping it. Terra turned to face Axelle jovially. I've been practicing, but I haven't had anyone to spar against. There were new tricks in her repertoire, but she didn't know how effective they'd be yet. The wolf, deciding to trust Terra's choice, pulled the rope, releasing another shower of debris over top of him. Howling with laughter Terra gripped the edges. Each rope was designed to show what they'd release, after all. The fact that he'd fallen for such a trick amused Terra endlessly.

It was a weird way of training, but then again how would one improve trapping without actually trying it out on various types of prey? Axelle nodded as Terra enlightened her about her duties. Everyone on these lands had something to keep them busy, and something to improve their skills on. Trapping was one of Terra’s duties, and Axelle felt that she was the right kind of character for the job. Her personality fit it perfectly.

A smile crept onto Axelle’s face as the trapped one grabbed onto the rope. She knew Terra didn’t give up that easily, and she knew she would have something up her sleeve. The rain of debris caught Axelle off guard and had her rolling with laughter. She had to bend over and clutch her stomach because she was laughing so hard. ”Stupid wolf,” she said when she finally had herself under control. Why would anyone who was trapped trust their captor? Apparently, males. Suddenly Axelle had a brilliant idea…

”Can you teach me some of your useful trapping ways? Someday, of course.” Trapping could give her a little amusement in her life, especially if she was successful with trapping other wolves. Male wolves, of course. Females were on her side, and she had no reason to hate her own kind, yet. ”We could make a little trade: you teach me what you know of successfully trapping something, and I’ll teach you what I know about sword fighting… Sound good?” It was an even enough trade, both females will get a learning experience out of it.

Then after her little learning experience, Axelle could tweak her skill and focus on what she really wanted: to trap and torture other useless males. The malevolent thoughts and ideas were swirling around in her mind, and she was excited and anxious to make them happen. She needed Terra’s skill and she needed to focus on a plan, and then she needed prey.

Hearing Axelle laugh alongside her Terra grinned over at the mismatched wolf. She was glad someone was there to share her amusement. The now-filthy wolf moved about, cursing the pair as he searched for a way out. He truly was a fool. Pulling one of the ropes would gain his release. Then again, maybe he wasn't so foolish, as one of the ropes would lead to his death. Terra supposed he had decided it was better to take his chances and avoid the ropes rather than find anything more unpleasant in there.

Axelle's question caught her off guard, earning the wolf a growl from the coyote. Teach her how to trap? Terra was fiercely protective of her tricks, knowing that they could be used to save her life someday. If someone was taught about them, let it get loose, it made the trick useless for when she tried to use it. Glancing over to give her an adamant refusal Terra stopped at the mischievous look on Axelle's face. It appeared the wolf already had ideas about how to use this skill. Grinning Terra nodded her head. I can't teach you, but I can show you. If you're quick enough I'm sure you'll pick up what you need to.

She was lost in her maniacal thoughts for a few more seconds before coming back to earth. Hearing Terra agree to teach her, she almost immediately lightened up. A big smile slid across her face, ”Really??” Instant happiness. She would be able to learn a new skill, while also getting revenge on the male race. ”Niceee, okay.” The smile still remained, and she was a bubbly, happy pup now.

She glanced down at the trapped male below. ”What’s your name?” She called down to him, and she half expected him to give it to her. He was the same way he had been since she first saw him: frustrated, trapped, fucked. She pitied him slightly, but he was still too stupid to see the obvious escape route another, with half of a brain, would have spotted in a few minutes. The pity faded away, and she returned her gaze to Terra. ”Do you think I’ll be able to trap wolves?” It was her obvious interest, and it really was the only reason she wanted to learn how to trap. Excitement bubbled inside her as she thought of her plan actually working the way she wanted it to. Things rarely went exactly the way she planned them to, but if it were to closely touch base, she would be happy with that.

Interesting dream-like thoughts flooded her mind. They were actually more like plans, and she carefully turned them over and over in her mind without showing much emotion on her face. If only she could get Kemo into one of these traps, then she would be happy with life. OR maybe Itzal, just to fuck with him. To show him that she was good at something, too, as he was with his throwing knives. Of course, she wouldn’t hurt him so much because she actually had interest in him. His personality disorder excited her; it was like instant danger at her finger tips, whenever she decided to piss him off, and she knew how to do that too.

Watching him run around Terra was half considering setting him free just to see him do something other than pace around, growling and grumpy. Of course, it wasn't really serious. No, if things got boring she could just add other stuff in there, stuff that would force him to do something new. She wouldn't give him anything to use against her of course, but there was still plenty of stuff she could drop in there. Cats, for examples. She might have a couple trapped cats in the area she could drop in there.

Terra looked over to Axelle, startled. Capture wolves? What else would you use them for? The more benign uses of the traps were completely unknown to Terra, having only ever used them to trap canines, and the occasional other predator that wandered into them. Maybe she could work on trapping other stuff with it. Terra had never thought about that before. Maybe she could even capture deer! Then she could eat them! But, it wouldn't be fresh. No, the traps were really only good for tormenting others.

Can we start wrapping this up in the next few posts?

Axelle’s concentration broke when Terra seemed startled at her plans. Terra, of all wolves, was one she didn't expect to surprise. She furrowed her brow slightly, thinking of an easy way to put her idea, so that her friend wouldn’t be freaked out. ”Well, my main targets will be male wolves, just for torture really. And whatever else I feel like doing at the moment.” Maybe rape, too. To show them what its like... Her mind was in twists over her immediate plans, but at the same time she wanted Terra to understand that she was in no danger. Why would she harm the one person who was able to show her how to use this skill? Some would, but Axelle wasn’t that messed up.

Axelle gazed down at the brute. She figured she would try to point him in the right direction, just to see if he was capable of that kind of intelligence, ”Look to your left, brute.” Since he didn’t give her his name, brute would do. If he was smart, which she doubted, he would possibly see the clean rope and become one step closer to being free of Terra’s tricks. Axelle looked down at him with pity and disgust, which was exactly what she thought of the majority of the male race. There were select few that she didn't feel so disgusted about, perhaps like the ones that held the possibility of being the father of her pups someday. Select few, though.

”Did you learn trapping on your own?” It was a random conversation starter, but all great skills were learned from somewhere imperial. Hearing that Terra learned this skill from someone who also had a plan behind it would make her feel a little better, but even if it wasn’t so, she still wanted to learn for her own advantages.

Terra listened, tail twitching at the explanation. Male wolves. That would need a pretty specific bait. The false concerns over the traps quickly faded, grinning at her. Axelle had completely missed what puzzled her. Terra hadn't imagined the traps being used to capture something other than wolves, assuming that was what Axelle wanted to learn to use the traps for. Torture did surprise her a little, but Terra wasn't overly concerned by it. The point of trapping someone was to use them for entertainment after all. Well, Terra used it as a testing field as well, but that was just her.

She let out a small whine as Axelle pointed out a clean rope. She stood up, backing away carefully. The male looked over, noting the clean route. Glee covered his face, and Terra swiftly made her place to a safer distance. He pulled on the rope, and the tiles that they'd been standing on collapsed down into the trap, creating an opening for escape. If he could get himself out of the large pile of debris first. Tail swishing she looked over to where the other female was. Discovered it by mistake with some friends, actually. We messed around and figured out how to capture each other on purpose instead of just mistake.

The brute took her bait, and started toward the escape. Axelle noted Terra escaping to a safe distance to a higher place, away from the male; Axelle stayed where she was. He was probably going to come out with some type of agenda, mixed with rage, of course; but she was more than capable of defending herself against this weak male, after all, he was injured by rocks a few times. If he were to go after Terra, she would protect her, too. He wouldn’t be free if it weren’t for Axelle’s advice. It was the least she could do for her friend.

She turned to Terra, ”That actually sounds fun: trapping your friends. It’s kinda like a dangerous, friendly game. Never actually hurting a friend with your intentions, but getting very close.” The thought of the game gave her a spark of excitement. Those kinds of games were exactly the types she liked. Dangerous and fun, while skill was needed as well. If only she had friends of the kind, she would definitely play. Then it hit her: Terra knew how to trap, and soon she would too. ”We should play, someday.” It would be cute.

Axelle watched the brute carefully make his way to safety. He was making his way over the debris, but he was having some difficulty. It was slowing him down, which was good in a way. She stood her ground, but she was a little nervous. Her eyes never left him after he became closer and closer to being free. The adrenaline in her body began to flow through her veins, and her muscles gradually became tenser. Her hand slowly closed around the handle of her Katana, just in case, while her eyes never left the male. There was a good pile of debris there, and it did take him some time…

Terra's tail twitched, noting Axelle's foolish bravery. It wasn't fear of the wolf that had her moving. When the pile collapsed it pulled the female down too. An escape route might be opened, but it wasn't a safe one. She glanced down at the two below, watching the male slowly climb back out, moving towards the entrance, blood oozing down his face. So he had survived that. It looked like he was tougher than she had given him credit for.

Her tail wagged brightly at Axelle's suggestion. Yes! That would be fun. That was exactly the kind of game that Terra loved so much, dangerous and amusing. Even if her life was never quite endangered she would certainly be spending her time doing this. Terra watched him move closer for a short while, her attention waning as it became clear that it would just be a typical battle. She wasn't interested in that. I suppose I'll see you around. I still have some traps to check. The wolf's head swung, snarling as he tried to leap through the debris to charge her. The coyote simply laughed, leaping over the roofs, clambering away over the city. No one could catch her.

Axelle nodded as her friend started off in the other direction, ”See you around!” She knew she would since Terra agreed to teach her the basics of trapping. When she could no longer see her friend anymore, she turned her attention on the male that was making good progress climbing out of the trap. He had an angry look in his eye that told her he was beyond pissed off. He shouldn’t be pissed off at her, she did help him escape after all.

Axelle eyed him carefully, pondering the thought whether to run or stay and see what reaction would come out of him. Staying for the reaction would have been foolish, but it was something she found herself doing often. It was something she was interested in seeing, and his reaction was clear on his face. Still, she found herself planted in the spot, and when the brute cleared himself of the debris and began walking towards her, her hand closed tighter around the handle of her sword. She could hear a low growl rumbling in his chest, and when he got in close proximity of her- he raised his arm to hurt her.

She didn’t exactly know how close he’d gotten to her because the art of pulling out her sword and slashing at him was such a fast, impulsive movement. It wasnt something she paid attention to often, though she should have. Perhaps one day when it fails, she will learn to keep her eyes open. The blind slash resulted in a loud yelp from the male, which told her that she hit her mark without even looking, and when she did finally look, she saw him holding his arm, which was dripping with blood. She snarled at him with bloody sword in hand, ”I told you, brute- don’t fuck with me.”

The male fell to his knees still clutching his arm not saying a word, which made time for Axelle to make a smooth getaway. She took advantage of it this time, and walked away looking back every so often to make sure he was still where he was and not following her. The last time she looked back at him he slunk to a fetal position, on his face, still clutching his arm, and there was blood on the ground all around him.
