[Amphitheater] Clearing the Field

The posting order will be established with who replies first and then second. In this thread we will need to lay out the basic outline for the amphitheater seats and stage, as well as clearing out any large rocks or stumps. Strel has brought two slightly rusted shovels, a large sharp machete, as well as an exceptionally old wheelbarrow. Also pp'ing that both of you are here just to speed it up! Permission to skip previous poster every 3 days without a post to keep it moving!

He had shanghied them into helping with his great project. He took it in his stride, letting it be the distraction to his pained heart and broken mind. For the first time in a few weeks, the Dauphin's eyes were shining with excitement and with a fervor that had been absent for too long. He was ready to start this project and he had asked the pack to help with the construction of their very own stage! Strel wanted to see everyone rearing to go and eager to work together. This was to be a joyous celebration at the end of their hard work and Strel would work his damnedest.

He had chosen a clearing near by one of their small rivers; refreshment for long performances as well as a calming bubble. There was a rather broad clearing, though there were saplings, bushes and stones to remove from the area to make it perfectly clear for the others. He had managed to push the rusty wheelbarrow to the clearing. Two worn looking shovels and a cleaned up machete sat in it, clanking when he had carted it over. He surveyed the area with a dismal sigh; he had forgotten just how much crap they would need to remove. But that was okay! They'd get it done even if it took all day and the rest of the week!

"Okay, guys, let's get this started! First, I think we should get rid of those small saplings." He gave the few trees a glare, wondering what on earth they could be used for. Perhaps they could just leave them for the others to deal with, and use. "I brought some shovels and a huge knife to do some chopping if we need to." Dusting off his hands, he peered at the two with him. "Any questions? Ideas?"

OOC just gonna have Hati here since he's almost always with ayita.

Ayita had to admit that she wasn't quite cut out for the trails of hard labor but she had to make herself more helpful to the pack. Today she had decided to join Skoll and Strel. even Hati had chosen to come too. She had to admit though that seeing her sons now able to shift made her well with pride. She wasn't sure she'd ever have another litter so seeing the two of them growing up and lottie filled her with pride.

Holding the reigns to her mare Ayita smiled. I think we can even use asagi to help us move larger rocks. Ayita spoke as she looked upon Strel with her crystal blue eyes. She was now rather happy to help in any way that she could.

Hati looked at his mother yawning as he turned to look at Strel and his brother. I'm not very strong but I can do what ever is needed. the shifted boy spoke as he ran his fingers through his newly trimmed hair. he prefered his short and had his mother trim it. the moon chaser waited for his mother and strel to point him off in a direction.

He knows a song

Skoll Haskel

Now that he had the ability to shift, Skoll was excited to help out with the pack in the new ways he was capable. He knew that he would be out of the puppy class in a matter of months, losing his rank of prince while he kept the honorable title in his heart. But he wanted to make an impression on the adults of the pack, to show them that he was more than the best puppy ever; he could be an awesome grownup too! Already, with his rescuing of Kace from an outsider’s lonely and dangerous life, and with his acquisition of his own horse, he was beginning to feel the weight of responsibility.

The golden boy followed the Dauphin as well as his mother and brother gladly, whistling tunelessly. Occasionally, he stopped to scratch out a tuft of fur from his thick coat, or to push his blonde hair out of his face. Unlike his brother, he hadn’t trimmed his wild wolfish mane yet, but he didn’t care. He was more than happy with how he looked.

There was a skip in his step until they’d finally reached the clearing. He rocked back on his paws and inhaled the wonderful smells of the grass and flowers. Spring had planted it roots, and finally he felt like he belonged on this earth. The winter months had been dark and depressing, but now that the sun shone and his body sang with warm energy, there was no reason to grouse.

His ears perked toward Strelein as he gave his instructions, and he nodded. “I’m strong!” he blurted, showing that he was still a child despite his ever-growing bipedal body. “We can cut the trees near the bottom then dig out the stump and roots,” he added more helpfully, eyeing the machete in the wheelbarrow. He glanced at his mother then lowered his ears quickly, deciding that Strel could take care of that; he wasn’t sure if the two pups could be trusted with a huge blade yet. He grabbed one of the old shovels instead, balancing it in his paws and awaiting further instruction with a grin.

Awesome, guys! Big Grin

The redheaded man nodded at the three of them, watching with a leader's pride that the last batch of young were just getting in to their feet and learning their place in the world. No children of his own, his paternal instincts leaked out here and there. However, his desire for offspring had long been stifled and dimmed. Better no one share his little quirks. Giving them all a nod, even as Skoll grabbed a shovel. Strel caught the look he gave to the machete and reached for it himself. Perhaps giving the knife to young still new to shifting, relatively, was a bad idea. While no strong beast, at least the Dauphin could hack at saplings. If only he could have found gardening sheers; that would have been fantastic.

"Okay guys, let's get to it. I'll go start hacking off some saplings. Ayita, between you and your son, figure out who will use the wheelbarrow to cart off smallish rocks and easy to pull out bushes and who will take the other shovel and start digging out the stumps and heavy rocks." Naturally, that was what Skoll would do as he had taken the first shovel. He looked at the one or two huge boulders. "We'll all have to roll those big things out," he added with a gesture toward the stones. Jerking his head, the Dauphin dismissed them all to get to their tasks. Hopefully no one would do something silly or get hurt; he did not want that on his conscience.

OOC just gonna have Hati here since he's almost always with ayita.

Hati smiled looking at his mother he gave her a smile as he moved to grab the other shovel. He didn't want his mother doing anything that would cause her to get hurt. He was young and was able to do many things though he was still young he would do his best. walking away from her he got to work as he watched his mother walk away.

Ayita smiled her boys wasted no time in taking charge and falling into their rolls. She let go of asagi's reigns and smiled at the mare as she grabbed the wheelbarrow. She wasn't sure that she was quite cut out for hard labor like this but hey she had to do something. Smiling she stopped and started to load rocks in. She wondered what this place would look like once the whole thing was done.

Hati looked back at his mother and brother as he started to dig around the stump to the tree. Yes indeed he was growing up. Soon he'd beable to roam all by himself and not have to listen to what his mother said. the thoughts of being an adult made him work a little harder.

Skoll Haskel

Word Count → 200 :: this is raze not knowing what to write xD

The redheaded Dauphin grabbed the machete, giving them a few last orders before heading to the first of the saplings. Meanwhile, his brother grabbed the second shovel, and Skoll flashed him a teasing but warm smile. Shifting the tool in his hands, momentarily amazed the feeling of actually being able to do something, he waited for Strelein to hack off most of the first sapling before thrusting the shovel into the earth near its roots. When nothing happened when he tried to move it, he put his foot on it and leaned to push it deeper, tilting the wood back in the next instant. There was a battle of wills between him and the stump until he managed to rip some of the earth from the ground.

Panting, he looked at his family members and the Courtier subleader to see how they were faring with this whole thing. This wasn’t quite as fun as he’d though it would be—at least until he managed to unearth the last of the stump with one last effort. He grinned at his triumph then jerked the shovel too roughly from the earth, showering himself and anyone in the vicinity with clumps of dirt.

OOC Since its been over the 3 days lets keep it going.

Ayita watched as she picked up rocks tossing them into the wheelbarrow. Her boys were growing up and she could not believe what they were doing. Skoll and Hati were almost the same size though both managed to get the rather large genes. Though not fully grown yet the boys would sure be a force to recon with when fully grown.

Ayita grabbed the wheelbarrow by the handles. Hati called over asagi the mare would be able to help him pull out the stumps. At times they came out easily but this one was just stubborn. He hooked a rope around the parts he had managed to jar free. Tieing the rope the Asagi's saddle Hati coaxed her to pull on the stump as he shoveled the dirt away.

Skoll scooped out more dirt, sometimes clumsily; his golden fur was dirty cream when he was done with that particular stump. He looked at his sibling to see that he was using the mare to pull the felled tree out of the ground, so he abandoned his tool and went to help. Flashing his darker twin a grin, he pushed against the stump with his arms. While not the strongest, he’d been blessed with endurance and the Catori determination to use it, and eventually the taut ropes pulled the roots from the earth.

The sun chaser whooped. “You can start on the other sapling; I’ll get some rocks,” he barked as he scrambled toward some of the manageable stones. Trapping them between his broad chest and arms, he wagged his tail and made his way over to the wheelbarrow. He dumped the stones in and smiled eagerly at his mother. “What do you think it’s gonna be like when we’re all done?”

Strel paused in his work, wiping away the curls falling over his eyes. He readjusted his tie, tightening the pony tail. Such a messy job he had done of pulling his hair that day, even though he knew this work was not going to be very easy. He straightened his back and bent his knees as he struck with the axe. The tree quivered lightly as he did so. Growling, the Dauphin struck again, harder. The axe vibrated and sent his arms to twitching along with it. The sapling he cut was drooping beneath his blows, leaning slightly away from him. He hit it again, somehow keeping the same location as he struck. Leaning on the thin sapling, Strelein heard the wood creaking as he pushed it. The smell of sap was thick in the air the more he leaned and the more it cracked. Suddenly, with a rip, the tree fell over, still slightly attached to the tree. The bark had snapped but the inner green was hanging by threads. A quick stroke severed it and the tree was felled.

Dropping the axe, he pulled the tree into his hands and began to drag it out toward the denser clumps of trees. They could come back later for it or take it with them to let it dry out for kindling and firewood. Regardless, Strel dumped it on a pile of other branches and smaller trees. They were mostly still green wood. Turning back to the three others with him, he watched them all easily converse. Two were sons and the other their mother. Of course they could talk easily. He smiled at them rather morosely. Shaking his head, he walked toward them, picking up the axe with him. "It'll look wonderful. With a stage and seats, for plays and for meetings. It'll be a good place to have."

Word Count → 226 :: *something about finals and not posting*

The voice of the redheaded Dauphin drew Skoll’s head up, but his slightly curled and fluffy tail wagged as he listened. He was excited for the project, mostly because he could tell all the future puppies in the Kingdom how he’d been there to build the amphitheater. In fact, none could very well say that about most of the buildings, as many had been abandoned by the humans when they’d died away. This was their very own project, to be built by their very own hands. Maybe it wasn’t a grand ship like in Cercatori d’Arte, but it was something to be proud of nonetheless.

“Terra and Caspa can do their magic show too!” the creamy-gold adolescent offered, grinning broadly. He’d been terrified of some of the acts as a little kid, but it would be entertaining now, to watch and giggle and guess at how they worked their magic. He was old enough to stop believing in fairies and whatnot, and begin to believe in tricks and illusions, but there were still some mysteries left in the world.

Pushing his mane out of his face, he looked around at the field. It was already partially cleared, with some debris remaining including boulders, but he wasn’t sure where to start. Stretching out his sore arms, he grinned faintly and looked at the adults for some prompting.
