Fritz wasn’t entirely sure where were Hadley was or what he would do when he met the shy man. He only knew that he needed to get answers from him about why he had hurt Selene so badly. He didn’t know why since when he had met the man, he seemed eager to protect her by learning how to fight. So what had happened? He hoped that Hadley would fill in some blanks or at least provide another angle on what had happened.

Fritz had been sniffing around the neutral territories, trying to see if he could pick up Hadley’s scent. He was rather angry with Hadley but hoped that it wouldn’t get physical. He wasn’t worried about himself but more about Hadley. Fritz was much bigger than Hadley and could easily hurt him, badly. But if Hadley put up a fight, then he would subdue the man without hesitation.

He finally found Hadley’s scent in an area called Ethereal Eclipse. Fritz took a few calming breaths before he got off his horse and put his weapons away. He then turned around and called for Hadley to come and meet him. His voice was rather calm as he called but there was a definite hard edge to it that said not to mess with him.

He had been working on his last carving. Making what he wanted for Isa had been difficult. The carving for Selene had long since been thrown away, angry and sad about what had happened. It had been so perfect, everything she was, but he could never give it to her. Instead he simply concentrated on making a moon, complete with the soft gaze of a wolf looking up to it. It was a tricky piece for someone who was just learning, but he wanted this to be done right.

A call rang out from him, surprising the male. The knife slipped, cutting him. Softly he licked at the wound, wondering how he had been found. He didn't want to be around members of his pack, ashamed of what had happened and still working on learning control. Slowly he worked his way forward. Turning he saw Fritz, the anger rising off him. Ears flattened to his skull he came out, as submissive as he could be. A small whine announced his presence, fearful of speaking.

OOC: Hadley should be glad that Fritz left his weapons with his horse.

IC: Fritz had no idea what he was going to do once Hadley showed up. He simply knew that he was extremely angry with the slightly shorter man. Hadley had kept hurting Selene and Fritz wanted to know what she had done to deserve it. Though he had a feeling that Hadley had no idea what had happened with Isa, or at least he thought so. But that didn’t excuse his later actions.

He heard a submissive whine and turned to see Hadley cowering before him. It wasn’t the best way to go about this nor the way Fritz wanted it but the large spotted dog would take what he had. His eyes were slightly angry and his body was tense from the anger. But he would try not to resort to violence unless absolutely necessary.

His tone as he spoke was civil but just barely. ”Hadley. How could you hurt her like that? What did Selene, the girl you were going to protect, do to cause you to do it?” So he didn’t waste anytime with pleasantries. He didn’t care what Hadley thought of his protectiveness towards Selene. Fritz cared for her but didn’t see how that was any of Hadley’s concern any more.

OOC someone's gonna get a beating XD

The civil voice did not work with Hadley. He had dealt with those beyond the point of anger, talking as calmly as if they were discussing the weather while setting about planning how to cause the other pain. Even worse, what Fritz said cut deeper than any knife ever had. Selene. Even thinking the word sent pain to his heart. He had loved her, and hurt her, and Fritz knew it. The whole of the pack probably knew it, and wouldn't want him back. Not when he'd hurt such a sweet, delicate female. Someone who deserved someone so much better than the trash that he was.

Asked what Selene could have done to deserve such a thing Hadley simply drew himself in, closer in to himself. N-nothing. He had hurt someone who didn't deserve it, and it was horrible. He just wanted her to stop hurting, but he just kept on causing her pain. At least he couldn't give her anymore, now that they were apart. It was just her, sweet and vulnerable against the world. Without him to protect her. It was scary, but he knew that he couldn't protect her. That it would only hurt her.

Hadley did seem to react to Fritz’s question but Fritz wasn’t sure how badly he was affected. He only assumed a lot and gave the small, shyer man the benefit of the doubt. He really wanted to hurt Hadley but knew that Selene would not be happy if he did. She might have been angry with Hadley and given up on having him but he knew that she still had feelings for him. So it was Selene that kept Fritz from getting his massive mace and using it on Hadley.

Instead he listened for Hadley’s explanation but all he said was that she had done nothing to deserve being hurt. But he didn’t explain why. ”But why the bloody hell did you hurt her, Hadley? Why did you leave a girl that loved you with all her being heartbroken and go into the arms of another woman?” His voice was becoming more like steel and he had to practice a lot of self-control to not launch himself at Hadley and beat him within an inch of his life.

Of course, he might still smack him a few times to get the message that no one should hurt her without getting him angry. Because he was still angry at Hadley but wasn’t going to hurt him unless necessary.

The steel in the voice grew thicker. Fritz was angry, and rightly so. He had hurt someone who hadn't deserved it, done the unforgivable. He wouldn't apologize, or try to worm his way out of the situation. All he'd do was stand there, wishing that he could fix it and knowing it was beyond repair. The question that hurt the most was why. He didn't know, couldn't answer. There was nothing behind his actions that he could explain, not even to himself.

He didn't look up, knowing that Fritz needed an answer, but how could he answer his question when he didn't know the answer? The silence stretched on, Hadley trying to think of what to say. There was nothing there. Nothing but emptiness, a broken patch that he didn't remember, couldn't access at all. I d-d-d-don't kn-know... He deserved punishment, though there was none handed to him. Nothing but Selene's tears, haunting his nightmares.

Hadley seemed to realize just how angry Fritz was and the large Great Dane was secretly glad that his anger was known. It took Hadley a few moments to answer and when he finally did he explained that he didn’t know, all while looking away from him. Fritz was a mix between being highly confused and even angrier.

He stepped towards the man and growled, ”What do you mean you don’t know?” He was going to start to use his size to his advantage by intimidating Hadley. Whether it would work or not wasn’t as important. He mostly wanted to know how it was that Hadley didn’t know what had happened. Was that even possible?

Selene’s face flashed in his mind and he took a slight step back. He was pretty sure that his damsel in distress wouldn’t want him to hurt her previous knight. But he would be her protect and help regain her honor if he needed to. So to help him from lashing out at Hadley, Fritz balled his hands into fists and counted to ten. That helped calm him down slightly so that he was simply angry at the man and not feeling murderous towards him.

The air was so thick, he was choking on it. Hadley wanted to shrink down even further, a growl splitting the air with all the force of thunder. It was deafening to the hybrid, just wishing that he would be killed already, unsure how long he could deal with the fear before completely losing it. He cowered, crouching down at this point, able to brush the ground with his arms if he just pulled them away from where they were held before his chest.

Why was he moving closer? Hadley didn't want him any closer. His mind screamed at him to move, to speak, to do anything, but he couldn't. He was frozen to the ground, unable to think of anything except how absolutely terrifying Fritz was and how he didn't have an answer. I don't know! I don't know! Please! The words barely pushed past his lips, a whine with no end to it. The great beast retreated a little, letting Hadley breath again, if his heart was still hammering.

OOC: I had Fritz leave so we can finish it with your post.

IC: His intimidation seemed to not actually help but rather make Hadley even more withdrawn. His eventual answer came out as mostly a whine and Fritz didn’t really want to believe that that was the case. He balled his fist even tighter as he backed away from Hadley. Fritz gave a frustrated sigh as he turned away from Hadley.

Muscular arms came up and ran his hands through his hair, trying to think of something to say that could help diffuse the tense situation. He didn’t want to forgive Hadley, it wasn’t his place to do so anyway, but wanted to do something. He still wanted to hurt Hadley for hurting Selene and decided to say that. ”I should hurt you for hurting her. But I won’t since she wouldn’t want that, no matter how she feels about you.” He wasn’t entirely sure how she felt towards the hybrid.

He stepped towards Anton, his Shire stallion seeming to sense his master’s tenseness and nudged Fritz’s shoulder gently. He pet Anton and said, ”I’m going to leave now and I have to say that I would feel no remorse if I never saw you again. Farewell Hadley.” He then mounted the horse and started to head off, though he wasn’t sure where he would go.

OOC hadley won't ever figure out what happened by the way. he wont regain his memory or anything

The voice spoke up, still angry. It was further away this time though, filling Hadley with some small measure of relief. Hadley wasn't taking in the words anymore, just listening for threats and possible orders. Everything else was lost in the pure fear that gripped him. His ears twitched up at the mention of his name, the pounding of hooves coming shortly after. Was it over? Lifting his head Hadley cautiously looked around. It seemed he was alone. Unless the giant was hiding somewhere, waiting for Hadley to do something, things were fine again.

Deciding to act on caution Hadley remained where he was, curling up on the forest floor. He laid there, the occasional shiver running through his body. Eventually his eyes closed, sleeping, waiting for the attack that would never come. His dreams were bitter sweet, Selene happy and at peace, but beyond her reach, Hadley trapped in darkness, his only salvation in watching her love someone else. If only it could be that simple.
