Sorry it took so damn long! / +386

Aoi had been working all morning. First, she had collected eggs from the chickens and scattered bird feed for them. She’d then milked the cows, milked the goats, as well as feeding them both, and had just finished feeding the pigs. The sheep were out grazing, and so they didn’t need much attention, especially as they were not ready to be shorn yet. And so that left little for the girl to do. The horses and crows were the responsibility of their respective owners, and although she owned two horses and a crow herself, she usually left them till at least midday. But she’d finished her duties in record time today. Now feed. came a familiar voice from behind the femme. The dark furred jackal-wolf swivelled round, and put her hand on her hip as she studied Saigai, her pet crow. Feed who? she asked. One had to be patient when dealing with Saigai, but frankly, Aoi felt just about ready to snap sometimes. FEED SAIGAI! squawked the crow. Aoi rolled her eyes. He knew it wasn't time yet. No. she replied sternly, walking away.

But she really had nothing else to do, so she went to feed her horse Gale. Gale was her horse, but he wasn't at the same time. They had not really connected yet, and so she just fed him and then walked out again, and would do for a while until he got used to her instead of being so nervous. When she went into his stall today, the same thing happened as usual. He neighed and screeched, and hid in the shadows of his stall. Aoi went inside, filled up his trough, checked on his water, and then walked calmly out again. She then went to the stall next to Gale's, and fed Bran, her other horse who was far more friendly. He was a foal, so the bond could be forged instantly.

After feeding Bran and giving him lots of love and attention, she walked outside the barn and hung out by the door, watching the comings and goings of the people of Anathema. They usually hung inside the caves, but sometimes she'd see them coming out, and would perhaps smile or wave. It wasn't anything more than that though. Aoi herself was far from social.

It was a beautiful day. Hardly any clouds hung around in the sky, the birds were singing their themeless songs, and the bright, undisturbed sunlight was warming up anything below it with no mercy. Obviously the perfect conditions for a nice nap in Rivers' mind. And as such, he decided to sleep later than usual, which happened to be noon before he awoke. Streching from his dreamless slumber, the grayish male arched his spine back and yawned inaudibly. After a few moments of no motion, he rose to his feet and stretched his arms above his head. Rubbing his eyes to rid them of drowsiness, Rivers rolled his shoulders, popped the muscles in his neck and hands, and walked out of his den. He wasn't very hungry, so he didn't really think much of food, but rather yearned for the bright sunlight outside to warm his fur.

Since all these entrances and complex denning systems were still new to him, he chose a random exit to go through go make his way outside. Rivers' mind went blank as he ventured through the exit, and as soon as the blinding light from the sun hit his face, flinched, squinting his eyes as they adjusted to the change in light. He bowed his head a bit to the ground as they made the necessary changes, and lfted his gaze once they were done.

And something caught his eye.

He saw the barns, and in turn saw the many animals and livestock they held. But he also saw a figure— dark furred, it appeared, and he assumed they worked mainly with the animals. Rivers felt an urge to go and greet this other Luperci for reasons unknown, and stood with a tilted head for some time as he thought. Well, it couldn't hurt to go make friends, given the circumstances and all, right? He was in need of faithful allies, and here was another opportunity he couldn't let go of.

And before another thought went through his head he was already making his way to the one at the barns, his arms swaying by his sides as he walked at a casual speed. His tail darted behind him the best it could, since the natural jaggedness impaired that, and he let an inviting smile play at his lips as he reached his destination. It was a girl with an almost jackal-like look to her, and he nodded his head at her. "Mornin', or what's left of it," he said, his hands resting on his sides as his weight shifted to his right leg, "Thought you looked like you could use some company from standin' all alone out here. Mind if I join you in your..." The male couldn't find the right words to describe it. "... stand?"
