OOC: Aranck is given custody of his grandniece, Jiya, who will be joining AW in a few weeks.
IC: Aranck rarely went very far from the AniWayan village since as he aged, it was getting harder and harder for him to walk. Right now, he mostly had trouble in the morning when he first got up and at night when he had been super busy. It would likely be a few years before it got bad enough to keep him in bed. Today was one of many days that he had been feeling good.
He knew that he needed to talk to the healers about what he could use that would help his arthritis. He knew the plants back in the Tribe but he wasn’t there anymore. Aranck was one of three members of the Great Tribe and he missed hearing AniWayan. He hoped that many members would let him teach them his language. Ulilohi was right about not many of her members knowing the customs and language and culture of his old home.
Yet a sound reached his ears that interrupted his thoughts of the Great Tribe. It was someone calling for him. They seemed a little unsure but he went to investigate nonetheless. He approached the strange canine with a rather young pup in their arms. How did they know him? ”Can I help you?” They asked if he was Aranck and he affirmed that he was so they explained that one of his favorite nieces had given birth to a little girl but complications from the birth had arose, making her sick. His niece then went to find him but on the way she died right before reaching AniWaya. But before she joined the spirits, this loner found her and was told to bring the pup to Aranck in AniWaya.
He took his grandniece into his arms and asked the canine what her name was and was told Jiya. He grinned and thanked the loner. He then brought the pup towards the village so he could talk to Ulilohi. He wondered if the councilmember remembered his niece.
