Lia will be going for the Asuhis co-rank. She also wants to meet her new family, so free fish for all! c: AniWayans only, no set maximum for number of participants, but if more than 2 others show up (here's hoping!), I'mma say no posting order to keep things moving. Stop in for a post or two, jump in any time, stay for awhile, 's all good 8D Backdated to the 10th.

As the new day dawned, a new chapter of her life began. Lilia awoke bright and early to greet the rising sun, which cast a warm red glow across the lands and tinted her sandy coat cinnamon. Eager to make a favourable first impression, she set to work at once. She was no shrinking violet — there would be no 'adjustment period' as she settled into the pack. The woman was uninterested in exploring all the pack lands had to offer, for she knew its secrets would unfold in due time. She cared not to stake out a den claim, as the weather was nice and she had spent probably three quarters of the past year's nights under the stars or in the modest shelter provided by a magnificent maple or stately sassafras. No, what she was interested in was networking.

She gravitated north towards the sea, then spent the entire morning preparing: she gathered wood, dug two forked limbs into the coarse sand on either side of the soon-to-be fire, sharpened her fishing spear, and carefully wove and knotted her ropes into a formidable fishing net. She enlisted Makani's assistance to help her cast it — it took some time to position it just so in the rolling waves — then lit a blaze using her regular bow drill technique. Once she was satisfied, she stood on the slippery rocks ringing a small tide pool and snagged her first catches. It was only enough for her and Makani; for now she would catch no more, and yet the Hawaiians would wait to eat. Overfishing and overconsumption were Sinful. When her first guests arrived, they could eat these fish; only then would she catch more. If a great enough crowd gathered, she would pull in the net.

She laid the fish out neatly in a row, touching each tenderly as her eyes closed and she muttered a small prayer. Once the scaly creatures were thanked individually for their sacrifice, she fixed them to the spit and set them to cook. By then it was just shy of noon, and, confident she would not be disturbing the peace at this hour, she had no qualms tossing her head back and singing into the sky: Come, Brothers and Sisters, a feast awaits!

OOC: Hello. How you don't mind my slightly surly old fart. And Degataga is visible.

IC: The weather had been improving, which was good for his old bones and joints. Though the weather had also been changing a lot since he could feel that in his bones and joints. Yet this morning they weren’t really bothering his as much. The trip from the Great Tribe to here was hard on his joints and bones but mostly his joints. Of course, he didn’t really care for horses so he had walked, which was tough on his body a lot slower. Tiva however was an admirable travelling companion.

Lomasi wanted to go explore and to be honest so did he. So he and his spirit guide Degataga followed the bobcat into the morning. They wandered towards where the land met the sea to do who knows what. Sometimes the nearly five-year-old bobcat was still like a kitten. He shook his head in bemusement at the feline.

She meowed and he looked to see what she had noticed and Aranck saw a female that he hadn’t seen before. Granted he was still new here but had made sure that he at least knew his Tribemates’ names and faces. And he assumed that she had joined with how deep into AniWayan territory she was. He briefly considered speaking in AniWaya but decided not to. ”Hello, there.” His grin was a bit mischievous as he regarded her.

Not at all 8D It's always cool to see older characters, they're so rare :3 And sorry for the huge delay, shit got crazy IRL for a bit there X_X Also, please note others are still more than welcome to join c:

It did not take long before an unlikely trio joined them: a raven, a feline, and an old tribesman. In any other context, she would have found this strange — but be it boundless optimism or simple faith, she decided the man's peculiar companions only proved how in touch the AniWayans were with Nature. Unalihelitseti, Elder, she greeted him, effortlessly mimicking the salutation Tiva used to address her only the day before. Their tongue was unlike any with which she was familiar, but language was one of her strong suites. Until someone offered her true lessons, she would do her best to learn through immersion and absorption.

Whatever the case, she bowed her head deeply as the words spilled into the open air. She was working off the assumption that, as a newcomer, he outranked her. While Tiva had elaborated on their vocational system in some detail, Lia was uncertain about their actual hierarchy. All she knew for sure was the Fire Keeper would serve as her mentor and a woman named Ulilohi was their Chieftess. Only... that wasn't exactly right, was it? Despite her official title as the Head of Council, it was easiest for the Hawaiian to think of their Alpha as a Chieftess, simply because that made the most sense in the context in which she was raised.

As for Aranck, even if the Akita hybrid understood their supposed equivalence as beginners on their chosen paths, she would've deferred to him anyway — as a senior member, he would have more clout within the pack, and as an elder, he deserved respect. Such values were ingrained strongly in her. She even went so far as to greet each of his friends in turn. And aloha to you as well, she stated with two additional dips of her head. My name is Lilia a'Mahina and this is Makani, she said, gesturing with a sweep of her hand towards her ever-more reserved servant. I invite you all to dine on these gifts from the Sea, she explained evenly with judicious formality. No matter how many chose to show up, she considered this her debut before the pack.

OOC: Pupppyyy Big Grin

Word Count: 300+

She had only been a member of this new place for a day. It was all very new and strange. She remembered that her mother had been very ill and that another man had helped bring her here when mom had gotten too weak. But in the back of her mind she truly believed that her mother was going to come to the tribe once she was better, she had just needed an extra long nap. At least that was what the odd stranger had said. Upon arriving she had been handed off to another man, her great uncle, though she did not know what that word meant yet. The little one was smart enough to realize that the grumpy old man was related to her in some way though and had resided that she was to stick with him until her mother arrived.

She had been told to stay in the odd building that covered her head, a hut it was called. Her Great Uncle wanted to go out and would return however the older male had not taken into account that upon leaving her sight the little pup would be filled with an odd feeling. This feeling was worry, the little gears in her brain turning rapidly with concern. What if he did not return? So the little one resided to follow her Elder. Quietly stalking him from afar with her blue and green mixed eyes. She was tiny enough that the brush hid her orange fur with ease.

Eventually they came upon an odd place, a howl bidding them to come feast as their guide. Although she did not know many words yet she remembered many for food and her tiny stomach began to rumble. On the journey to the Great Tribe she had eaten very little, as was still incapable of eating meat. Her little body yearned for her mothers milk. In the time it took for her stomach sounds to disrupt her stalking Aranck had already moved forward and was in discussion with a strange looking lady. Silently and unafraid of her uncle’s scorn Jiya walked forward, taking a seat on her rump between the Elder’s legs. “Unalihelitseti”. She mumbled quietly, only meeting the other female’s eyes briefly before turning her head shyly, resting he muzzle against the back of her uncle’s leg.

The female seemed to at least know some of his mother tongue and he gave a nod in acknowledgement of her deference to his status as her elder. "Unalihelitseti, child" She might not truly be a child but he did view most canines younger than him to be children. But not in a bad way. More they were someone he had the privilege to help teach and grow.

His mouth twitched slightly as she also greeted his spirit guide and his pet. "My name is Aranck Eluwilussit and the crow is my spirit guide Degataga and the bobcat is named Lomasi." He nodded his acknowledgement of their names but didn’t really say anything about it. Though Taga gave him a reproving look, Aranck simply ignored his spirit guide.

Her offer for them to feast made his ears perk hopefully. "Wado, Lilia." His grin was grateful and he was going to ask about how she caught them when his grandniece came wandering over to them. He gave her a slight reproving look but would talk to her about it later. The shy girl politely greeted Lilia and he nodded at her manners. "This is my grandniece, Jiya. She came here yesterday after her mother died." He would have to feed her by regurgitation, which was not a pleasant thought but he would do so anyway.

Aranck Eluwilussit
