Let the gazooka away!

Pack lands. They were great for finding free meals. Sure, he got chased off it pretty quick, but usually not until he had found a kill the pack had brought down, letting him grab a couple tasty morsels off it before moving on. He had found himself in a huge, wonderful land, full of packs. Even better, he'd found a pack where the borders weren't very strong. There would still be food, but the chances of him getting caught and chased off right away were far smaller. The rain pounded down, soaking through his thin coat. Shivering the brown male wrapped his arms tight around his body, wishing that he wasn't so hungry. Meandering around he paused, hearing a strange noise.

It sounded a bit like a cat. No, like a rabbit being killed. No, that wasn't right either. Unable to determine what the sound was, he followed it along to a small hole in the ground. A small muddy thing was there, making the noise nonstop. Reaching in he plucked up the creature, utterly confused. What was this? Turning the pup around in his hands eventually it ended up upside down, held by it's tail. The squalling only grew louder, to his utter confusion. Turning it around again he stared at the hole the noise was coming out of. Shaking it the coyote stared, trying to figure out what made it work.

It must be the hole. Grinning he proceeded to stick his hand in there, only to feel small sharp things dig in. Yelping he drew back, dropping the strange thing he'd found. Sucking on his hand he frowned, thinking about killing the thing that had hurt him. It hadn't shut up either, still making that funny noise. His eyes bulged as it began to move around, tiny little legs tumbling about. That was funny! Laughing he bent down, scooping up the creature again. He walked back out of the territory with the new toy. It was very funny. He'd keep it.

The rain poured down and soaked the arctic wolf thoroughly to the bone. The spring showers had begun in full force. Dark, threatening clouds loomed overhead as lighting streaked across the sky to make mystifying patterns. Kiara moved through the wet forest, her search for food in vain. Tharin had been wonderful and had brought her an entire deer fawn two days before. Yet, it wasn’t enough. The puppies had started eating regurgitated meat along with the milk Kiara produced for them. Not to mention there was herself to feed and the rapid developments that had happened with the puppies. Kiara had worked hard for several days to impress upon her puppies just how important it was for them to say inside the den. It hadn't gone very well.

In many ways the rain was a blessing in disguise. Kohaku had started to cry when the thunder sounded, scaring the young puppy out of his mind. Lucia had ventured to where the mud began and had decided that it wasn’t worth getting muddy. With the heavy thunderstorms, Kiara was able to get the necessary break she required to hunt for their tiny family. Even so, luck was not on her side.

After several hours of searching in heavy rain for food, the only thing Kiara had managed to grab was a rabbit that nearly scared itself to death. The white wolf moved as quickly as she could through the mud until she managed to reach the heart of Wentworth Valley where her puppies awaited inside her den. A pair of tracks were scattered around the den, their imprint highly visible in the deep mud. The sight made Kiara worry, but she tried to put their presence out of her mind.

Even as Kiara crawled into the den, she knew something was wrong. The entrance held a slight hint of an intruder and all was silent inside. Kiara’s heart froze as only a single terrified puppy waited for her mother’s return. Frightened blue eyes peaked out of a white ball of fur, and Kohaku was nowhere to be seen. Anger swelled up in the young mother as the dead rabbit dropped heavily into the dirt. She took the time to inspect Lucia before taking off after the intruder.

The entire world seemed to turn red, and her focus was completely taken by the trail of paw prints and weak scent. Lighting flashed overhead, making Kiara’s pale form shine as her lips pulled back into a snarl. Thunder sounded and deafened the young mother, but she paid little mind to it. Someone was going to pay.

The sound of crying called Kiara’s attention and the mother raced forward with everything that she had. Before her stood a coyote luperci holding HER baby. A ferocious growl erupted from her lips, only to be drowned out by thunder. Her heckles raised and her fur stood on end. Her tail was raised high and her black lips were pulled back to reveal two inch long incisors. Lighting flashed across the sky and revealed her ghostly form, and the thunder that followed only added to her frightening appearance. With a howl the angered mother rushed forward, her jaws aiming for the back of the puny coyote’s neck, a killing blow.

The whining was still continuing. It was like carrying a tiny siren announcing his presence. Frowning he looked down at the bundle. He had to make that stop. The easy thing would be to just drop off the source of the noise and continue without it, but the coyote really liked the tiny thing. It was so amusing. Despite the fact that it kept squirming, forcing him to continually change his grip on it, the pup ending up in so many different positions it was hard to tell where head started and tail ended. Thunder struck, causing him to jump slightly. Over the pack border he turned around again, bidding adieu to the funny pack that had given him the odd bundle.

The sight that greeted him was terrifying. A white ghost stood there, poised for the kill. It leaped forward, drawing a scream from him. Dropping the toy he raised his arms, catching the jaws full on. Shaking himself he managed to rip free. He quickly snatched it up again and began running as fast as he could, blood running down his body. He didn't know that a bone had been broken, or that she had pierced a vein that would keep the blood flowing without stop, slowly killing him with blood loss. It would take hours for that to happen, but for now he was alive and fleeing, holding on tightly.

Reaching a stream the coyote paused for a moment. Finding a small stick he rolled it in mud and stuck it in the tiny creature's mouth. It protested for a moment, eyes wide and chewing around it. It must have found the contraption interesting though, as it stopped fighting to chew on it contentedly, the confusing environment forgotten. Continuing on the coyote slowed, panting with exhaustion. Why he was tired was a mystery, used to running for much longer times. He crossed through a stream, spotting a small den up ahead. He could crawl into there, wait out the storm.

Anger swelled through the new mother, filling her mind and drowning out all other sensations. The once kind and caring she-wolf had turned into a deadly killer at the scared cries of her puppy. All of Ichika's teachings of peace and love fled from her mind in the wake of her anger that could only be quelled by the safe return of her baby boy. If that meant ripping the stranger in two, then so be it. As Kiara leapt into the air, the coyote shrieked and dropped her child. Her powerful dealt jaws a crushing blow to his arms and she growled with the full weight of her animosity.

The stranger struggled as she held him captive in her jaws, but eventually managed to yank himself free. The white female toppled to the ground and the force of her tumble knocked the wind from her lungs. Pain shot through her chest as she struggled to breathe. Air rushed back into her gaping mouth and she staggered upright. Kiara stood, disoriented and confused as she tried to search for her puppy. To her dismay, neither her son nor the stranger were anywhere in sight and Kohaku's cries had been quieted.

Frantically her mind began to whirl as she stumbled in the mud in search for the coyote's trail. Rain continued to pound against the earth, and lighting struck overhead. Kiara dipped her muzzle to the earth as she meticulously searched for the stranger's trail. It took her much longer than she would have liked to pick up on the trail again, but the instant she had located the drops of blood she was off again. Her heart pounded as her muscled moved in perfect harmony to send her rocketing after the stranger.

Kiara lost the trail several times in her frantic chase, each time allowing the coyote to put more distance between them. Even so, the angered mother refused to give up and she continued to track him. The no good coyote was acting like a stinking fox, so she was going to treat it like one. Frustration threatened to overwhelm her when she lost the trail again at a stream. That clever mutt had managed to erase its scent completely. Kiara howled, grief and rage poured through her voice as she tried to reach out to Kohaku. She couldn't loose him too. She just had to get him back.

How long had it been since he had spoken to the white female from that pack. He shouldn’t have maybe snapped at her; however he did have a dire hate for that pack. Though the words to psychically the words “I am sorry” to her, or anyone for that matter was not something that the male do. For her he would try just because they needed to fix that rift, if he was ever going to have a chance to take her out on another date…if she wasn’t pregnant again by someone else by the time they got to the second date he might again try to ask her out. Then again he wasn’t sure she would even want to look at him or be around him. Not to say he could blame her.

With his age getting older and older he knew that there was going to be less and less of a time to reproduce and have that family that he wanted, he did not want to be his father and raping females at the turn of the weather. Making them conceive his monster children and making them fear him more than death. This was not Noah plan. However he didn’t want to be like his snowy white brother either. The male knew it might just be better all around if he just stayed the bitter male that hated everything and everyone.

Hearing the howls pleading for something the silver male gave a twitch of his nose. As he walked towards the stream so he could figure out the blasted whining and demand at this second that they stop that horrid sound.

It hit him that pungent smell of a coyote. The male though half blind and hard of hearing did have one good and overly working thing going for him, his nose. The silver male lifted his head up into the sky as he sniffed; the coyote had something that didn’t belong to him. The canine cousin had a wolf pup that belonged to the snowy white female.

The silver male snarled as he shifted down from his two legged body down to the beastly body shape of the Secui. Scurrying over to where he was able to pick up the scent of the coyote, the silver monster came in snarling, teeth bared ready to take the stress of the pack life out onto the coyote.”Where did you find this child?” He knew where, and he knew who. It was just now a matter of getting the child back to its mother without hurting it. Maybe she would take that as his sorry.

The desperate howls that rang behind him had the coyote stop for a second. He wondered why that sounded so sad. Shrugging he looked down to the small bundle in his arms, a huge goofy grin on his face. The thing was kicking around again, the mud stick he'd placed in it's mouth working it's way out. That meant the siren would be going off soon again. He worked on wedging it back into place, the eyes popping wide on the top of it's head. He laughed at the sight, amused by how easily it was surprised, reacting to what he did. This was the best thing he'd ever found!

A silver beast leaped out in front of the coyote, drawing a surprised shriek. He clutched the toy closer, teeth bared. He wasn't going to give it over to some random wolf! No matter how scary it looked with all those teeth. Squinting the coyote looked closer. Was he missing a leg? It's mine! I found it fair and square. Get your own. The coyote growled, backing up. It was too bad the wolf was now between him and the cozy den he'd spotted. The woozy canine would have to find somewhere else to hole up then. He grabbed the bundle in his hand, letting it hang there as he turned and began to run.

Kiara was practically crying by the end of her howl. It had started with a chorus of seething anger and frustration, but ended on a note of crushing sadness. The new mother cried out for her child, willed him to call back to her. Yet no response came from her son, and the pounding rain had begun to lighten into a soft drizzle. The soaked wolf paced restlessly along the banks of the stream as she searched for that horrid coyote's scent. Desperation clung to her mind as an overwhelming sense of urgency enveloped her. She had to find her son and get back to her daughter as fast as possible.

The white wolf continued to pace relentlessly until the sound of running footsteps caught her attention. Blue eyes whipped around to see a dark form run off into the distance. Clutched in it's lanky arms was her puppy, Kohaku safe and sound. Kiara caught but a glimpse, however it was enough to set her body on fire. She surged forward, her desire and motherly instinct driving her on like a cannon ball. Kiara ran as fast as her legs would carry her, her lithe for moving alongside the coyote. She pushed herself more as her smaller form quickly pulled ahead of the running luperci. In an instant she changed direction to cut the stranger off. Kiara slid a little in the mood, but was able to stand her ground well enough. Her black lips pulled back into a snarl as she savagely blocked his retreat. "Get your stinking paws off my son!" White fur stood up like razor sharp needles and her tail was raised high. Her body was tensed and ready to rip the stranger in two if he tried anything.

Her hatred bruned like one thousand suns, hatred stronger than she had ever experienced before. It was more than she had felt even when Noah had so badly crushed her heart. He, whom she had seen as a brother had spat her love back in her face.

The monster did not have his eye trained onto the white mother. He was set on that coyote that had the white mother’s child. The three legged monster locked his good eye upon the coyote. The male with teeth bearded at the canine cousin heard every single word, though in typical Noah style just did not care. The male in his halfing forum found this one the best to get around in. He was able to have the power, speed, and heaviness that no other forum could offer onto his body.

The monster lunged after the coyote when he scampered away ”I don’t give a rat’s ass if you think that child is your or not because you claimed to find him” The Sawtooth lunged and jumped in front of the bi-pedal coyote. His sapphire locked onto him like he was going to be the next meal for the Sawtooth male, while his chilled ice blue eye looked at him just as coldly. ”Put the pup down and I won’t kill you….yet” The Sawtooth warned as he slapped his front paw down, and then brought his other two following, ready to make a move to cut the coyote off from another move if he had to.

Noah could smell Kiara on the child, and knew that she could try to blame him from taking the child from the den but at this time he was free of any part of being in the pack lands.

Shifting his good eye for just a second to get a wider idea of the area he was in and the routes he could take within his powerful halfing shape to black the beast from taking the child any further away from its birth pack then what had already happened. The silver New Dawner gave a quick nod to the white wolf, letting her know that he had seen her. The male lowered his powerful frame down over his three good paws, his muscles rippled under the skin and fur covering. ”I know your feelings…panic…fear…honor…” The male jumped forward, he hoped that the white mother would step up and be the second mouth to take this pup stealing bad name given coyote down.

The coyote spun to a halt as the wolf that he'd left behind, the one that had torn open the wound that was still running down, bleeding, had caught up. She was before him, as fierce as anything that could be imagined. He bared his teeth, clutching the bundle close, a small choked noise coming as the pup fought to breath through the mud in it's mouth. Looking down the coyote smiled. He could use the siren! Reaching down he pulled the mud stick back out, releasing the streaming wail that had been there before. With the noise hitting his ears the coyote took it and thrust it forward, trying to use the noise to drive the wolf back.

Spinning he turned to run, only to find the male wolf standing in his way. He was trapped. The coyote shivered, pulling the pup close again. Why did they want this so much? It was just an odd thing that he'd found. He pulled the noisy creature close again, eyes blinking to try and remain focused. Wildly he searched for escape. The male had leaped forward in attack, producing a small shriek of fear from the coyote. Blindly he stumbled back, forgetting the white female that was at his back, just wanting to get away from the flashing jaws that threatened him.

Just when Kiara thought she had gained the upper hand he showed up. That ridiculous, three legged, dog of a wolf appeared on the coyote's other side. Fire burned in her sapphire orbs as she to a brief moment to glare at Noah. If he tried anything funny, his fate would be the same as the coyote's. Kiara's heckles raised even higher, but she would have to deal with him later. Her first priority was to get her son and get back to her den where Lucia sat waiting.

The white mother's attention was abruptly brought back to Kohaku as his cries sounded, the alarm he raised called out to her. Kiara whined softly and when the coyote extended him out to her, Kiara approached. The mother's eyes were locked onto her son, her desperate voice reaching him and causing him to call even louder. All she wanted was her son, it was all she desired. Yet the coyote spun around without returning Kohaku and anger burned inside her again. He tried to run but Noah was there to block his path. The secui formed wolf spoke to the stranger, ordering him to return her child. Kiara hated that Noah of all wolves, was helping her. But if he got her child back, then she would deal with his presence.

Even with both wolves cornering the coyote, it refused to return her puppy. Noah leapt forward, which caused the coyote to stumble backwards. The arctic wolf took her chance and lunged at his heels. Her sharp fangs dug into his leg and yanked sharply at his legs to bring the coyote down. He wasn't getting away from her again.

He could see the hate that she had for him, in her eyes. Though at this point he didn't care. The three legged monster just wanted to make sure that coyote knew that this child was not his, and would think twice about taking another mother's childern away from her. The saftly of the pup was his frist consirn, then it was seeing that the white mother was able to make this..this so called canine pay for it's crime against her family.

The male watched as she went after the heals of the coyote ensuring that he was down, and out for the count. The silver monster took his one good leg, as he shifted it up to the canine's neck. He pushed his weight down up his leg as he gingerly slipping his mouth over the sruff of the crying child. Once Noah knew he had a good grip on the child, he pulled it out of the grip of the pup napper. Being as careful as he knew how to be, the male stepped back making sure once again to bear down all of his weight down on his neck. Stepping back he gave the white mother a soft nudge, it was his way of letting her know what ever punishment she wanted to give to this stealing coyote she could.

Walking to where he knew the pup would be safe he placed him in a hollowed out tree hole. Touching the child , with his nose with all hopes that the child would stay there. Turning back around, the blood thristy male looked onto the scene. He moved swiftly so to block any move the coyote could or would make. Kiara would be able to take care of the coyote how ever she veiwed fair, and Noah would just make sure that what ever was done would be done with out the coyote fighting back.

And down he goes! XD

She was attracted to the noise? Why was she attracted to it? The white wolf had drawn closer with his actions, holding up the siren creature, instead of driven away by how loud it was. It was so very confusing. When he stumbled back, pain shot through his leg. What had she done to him? It hurt so very much, tearing through his flesh. His leg had been damaged, sending him stumbling to the ground, barely managing to hold on. Blood filled the air, falling over the creature in his arms. Why this had happened he didn't know. He didn't like it, wanted it to end.

The cripple stepped over, pressing hard into the coyote's body. He growled pathetically, squirming as he tried to move. The wolf dipped his jaws in, gripping the furry bundle. No! That was his! The coyote frantically fought for the creature, doing his best to hold on. The creature was pulled away though, leaving the coyote empty of his prize. Whining he watched it get carried away, trying again to stand up. Torn leg or not, he wanted his prize. He wanted the pain to stop, and he hated the rain, thunder sounding from the sky. Everything was so slippery.

Now that she had hold of him she wasn't letting go. Kiara grabbed onto his heel with her powerful jaws, and the coyote toppled to the ground. A fearsome growl flew from her clenched lips and she shook her head just to make a point. Kiara had irreversibly damaged his heal. If he survived the encounter, he would forever walk with a limp or never walk again at all. That knowledge sent a satisfying chill through the arctic wolf's mind. The coyote was going to pay for taking her child. Even if she didn't kill him, he was going to regret having ever laid his eyes on her den.

The young mother's attention moved from the coyote, to Noah. He slid forward on three legs and grabbed Kohaku by the scruff of his neck. The small puppy cried out as its captor fought with Noah. His pain resonated within Kiara and she dropped the coyote. Sapphire eyes watched the hulking male as he moved closer to her with Kohaku dangling from his mouth. Noah nudged Kiara softly, but her focus was completely on her son. Kohaku was covered in mood and blood, and the worried mother whine softly as he weakly whimpered. The white female's heart nearly broke as Noah separated from her and deposited Kohaku into the safety of a hollowed out tree.

Without thinking, Kiara ran over to her son and began to frantically lick him. Kohaku's soft whimpers turned into loud yips and whines as he rubbed up against her maw. Movement behind her caught the mother's attention as she saw the coyote try to stand. Black lips pulled back as Kiara launched herself forward. She barreled into the coyote's chest and went to take a good bite out of his shoulder. Somewhere in her mind, reason told the snow wolf not to kill the coyote, so her aim was to maim him. He would remember her wrath and would never darken the mouth of her den again.
